This place was great why did it suddenly permanently close today???????????????

I’ve used Papa Johns in Southborough before and always had problems, so I’m not sure why I went back again 🤦🏻‍♂️. It had changed however. Yes, it got worse. The App said my food was in the “cutting / checking stage” for over an hour. When it arrived it was like eating your shoe so had obviously been under the headlight for that length of time. The base wasn’t thin, as ordered and they forgot my bottle of drink. When I called to complain it too over 30 mins to answer the phone and the guy I spoke with didn’t give a toss. He said swing by when you’re next passing and tell my boss what a D**K H**D he is. Why I asked why he would say such a thing, he replied, well he is and the restaurant is closing down in a few weeks so he won’t care.

My experiences with the food and delivery have been ok so far, so it's a shame that yesterday they changed my order after I paid but didn't offer to refund me for the price difference. Ended up paying extra for an item I didn't get, and they lied to me on the phone saying that the 2 items were the same price when they weren't. Very dishonest. Will be taking up with Papa John customer service

Visiting my daughter in Tonbridge Wells, we didn't want to cook on a Tues night so pizzas ordered via the website. 28 minutes later tracker says delivered-no pizza in sight. Waited 15 mins, no sign of it. Called shop and told glitch in the system and pizza on the way. I asked how long, was told 15 mins (shop only 8 minutes away according to Google maps!). Waited 20 minutes, still no pizza. My daughter called to complain but absolutely useless only an insincere apology. Finally arrived an hour after first ordered and 33 minutes after delivered notification in the tracker and it was luke warm. Goodness knows how they cope on a busy weekend with loads of orders. Take my advice and order elsewhere, I wish we had.

Staff not wearing gloves while preparing the pizza. Their hands had a lot of hair. They need long gloves.

Would give 0 if I could!! Tried to call to chase delivery after not receiving for 90 minutes. First time was on hold for 7 minutes then cut off then on hold for 40 minutes no answer and still no delivery. None the wiser as to whether it will turn up!?

Waited over 1hrs 30mins for 2 pizzas that never showed up. Called them and got told the pizza would arrive in a minute. We are sat next to the front door so are in earshot of any knocking. Shocking customer service and an absolute lack of respect for paying customers. They have £50 from me and we have 0 pizzas. Not happy!

Appalling customer service - the team at Papa John’s do not respect customers. On multiple occasions whether it’s to pick up in store or delivery, I’ve been shocked by their extremely poor service. On one occasion I turned up in store to find the phones had been put on busy as I was calling and it was not ringing out. They then proceeded to keep me waiting for 15 mins as there was no one around to attend to me while the team were upstairs. When one of the members of the staff finally appeared he asked, ‘what did I want?!’ There was no remorse or apology. Furthermore, they do not answer the phones for an average of more than 45 mins at a time. On two separate occasions their delivery time has come to more than 2 hours late. Even the driver for them is rude. One the final occasion I ordered from them, I queried the driver as to why it had taken so long for my pizzas to arrive and he replied, ‘I’ll just take the pizzas back then!’ and drove off! I’m not the type of person to leave reviews but I feel it’s important for everyone to know how awful the service is at Papa John’s Tunbridge Wells. People need to be made aware.

Oh dear! Ordered a pizza well before closing time, around 35 minutes. The tracker says 'assigning a rider', then briefly says a rider has been assigned, then returns to the previous message. Long story short, they have my money, but I have no pizza. Avoid this restaurant at all costs - they are just dishonest. Deliveroo is no help of course, but I will be looking for the best way to get my money back, and make sure that other people are aware that you cannot order from this restaurant. By the way, they only get one star because you cannot post a review otherwise! What a scam. Disgraceful.

Took 1 hour 45 minutes to arrive. Burnt to a crisp - photo does not do it justice. Order was wrong as well. Can only give you a refund instore? Person who answered the phone on the other end said it’d be the same wait for another one and could only replace the pizza - but it shouldn’t be burnt because they cook all the pizzas at the same temperature. All in all not great

SO DANGEROUS ….. I ordered a vegan pizza 🍕 jackfruit pep and oh my god o eben called to ensure it would ALL be vegan as had experiences in the past .. Only Because I’ve been vegan seven years I know the difference with the cheese and could see when I opened the box ) and smell ) the very DAIRY cheese No only did I call to check and specify VEGAN.. the box label said VEGAN AND I selected the allergens box for dairy They sent me a dairy pizza Didn’t have the decency to do anything even call me to apologise and confirm a refund I’m beyond disgusted with the lack of awareness Then was told after having to chase up myself that refund would be in a few hours When on calling the next day being told it would take a few days A seriously lack of care Be careful with this place it’s really not on the ball when it comes to allergens or apparently black and white labels on a box

Went here at lunch time on Saturday and the pizza was fresh and delicious! The staff working there were polite and friendly unlike what the other reviews said. The kitchen looked clean.

I hate doing this but I want to warn people in case they want to order a quick takeout from here. Basically only order if you have lots of time to spare. I ordered my food (2 medium pizzas). They arrived 40 mins later and one of them was an entirely different order but had the right details on the box. We called to say we got the wrong order and the guy who answered the phone said he was expecting a call from us, apologised and said they'd send out another order and we should get it in half an hour. An hour later, we call again and are told it'll be with us in 20 minutes. An hour after that, we call again asking where the replacement is to be told it's on the road and will be with us shortly to then get called by the driver to say that they're sorry for the wait and that they're now making an entirely new third pizza and then it'll be driven straight to us. We first ordered at 7:15pm and it's now 10:24pm and we finally have our pizza.

Said delivered on app but hadn’t arrived ,called the store which said it was on its way..35 minutes later it turns up barely warm and like a cardboard box! What a waste of money ! For the price you charge at least make sure it taste good .will never use again what a joke ,McDonald’s is better quality than you.

I placed order and arrived within 20 minutes, food was good I can honestly say I don’t know what all the negative reviews are about because the service is good and the delivery guys are generally friendly 👌

Cancelled the order even when they were open.

Ordered 2 medium pizzas, they said 20 mins, collection better, left home 15 mins later to collect, takes 5 mins to drive there. They had not even started cooking, had to wait another 36 mins, over an hour wait total, I was told “we don’t take cash” I always pay in cash in a shop. Then the pizzas were salty and poor quality and made us continuously thirsty. Never again.

I phoned and ordered 2 large pizza for collection was offered 50% off £22.99 happy with that went to pick them up offer in the window any large pizza £9.99 so 2 pizzas £19.98 so I asked for them at that deal he refused saying I had to ask for that deal at which point I said I didn't know about it until I got here he was quite rude and still refused to offer me the lower deal one very unhappy regular customer but the piri piri chicken from around the corner was very nice 🤬

Just wanted a quick pizza - Champions League semi on, Mrs out, kids asleep…what could go wrong?! Papa Johns with their 1 hr 30 min delivery time. Next time I’ll listen to the Mrs and either a) Not get a pizza or, if a fails then; b) go to one of the independents in town.

Ordered takeaway and clicked a BBQ base instead of a tomato one,when it was delivered incorrectly the stores attitude was 'could'nt care less' will never use Papa John's again

We called up a few days before and paid. We called on the day to check again All fine they said. It was a 2 hour party. We had a fairly tight schedule. They were 50 minutes late on the day. All they had to do was be honest, give a realistic time and apologise They did none of those things. We spent an awful amount of time trying to call for an update only to be fobbed off with “it’s coming now/in 15 mins” if only they had just said, we’re running close to an hour late. At least we could have worked around them more effectively

Great pizza and new staff are very friendly

Done with Papa John's now. Used to be great but everything now suffers on a consistent basis...delivery time and food quality really gone down hill. If they deliver in under an hour then your pizza is burnt or freezing cold. Have also asked the branch for refunds before and they're never processed so have to contact head office. Just avoid and buy better pizza elsewhere.

Pre-ordered for 18:15, on the tracking app it said it was delivered at 17:44. I called the store and asked what's going on and I was told the driver had an issue and a fresh order will be delivered in the next few minutes. When the order arrived around 18:45 it was stone cold. Not happy at all. No apology, no discount, no refund offered. Appaling service. Safe to say I will never order from you again.

Great place love the people and always been happy with the service even when someone took the pizza that was for me and my little brother they was more than happy to make us a fresh one plus a little extra!

We used to be regulars here (got sucked in by the rewards / points scheme) but they’ve gone down hill dramatically in the last year. Orders now take well over an hour (last two orders took almost 90 mins) and we’ve had a lot of missing and sparse toppings, too. We won’t bother with them anymore. I would give 1 star but they used to be decent, and the pizza is pretty good value for money when you factor in the various deals, hence the 2 star rating here. However, I don’t think we’ll go back now. Been let down far too many times. I really wouldn’t bother with them if you’re looking for pizza delivery.

Very disappointed, I ordered something and my friend ordered the exact same peice of food. The difference was huge and was not up to standards would NOT recommend coming here for any food. What a waste of money Not to mention the manager told me my food was ready while he was smoking a cigarette, inside. I have added an image of the difference between the food.

Absolutely horrendous, do NOT order from this branch, it has gone downhill since the first COVID lockdown. We used to be regular customers. These days hardly anyone answers the phone, or if they do you are waiting approximately 10-30mins! (Makes me wonder if it’s on silent) Our recent order of just a pizza, side and drink took TWO HOURS, and by the time it got to us, the pizza toppings were stuck to the lid of the box! We gave it back to the rider as it was inedible and then we tried to call to warn them, and get no bloody answer! I won’t be shocked if this branch closes down soon, because whoever is running it now is clearly struggling or doesn’t care. Everyone, please go to Dominos, who are reliable, as they at least answer the phone!

Waited 3 hours for pizza last night and it never showed up, tried calling the store from 9:30pm through to 11pm and couldn’t get hold of them! Always been a loyal customer, never ordering again.

Do not use this Papa Johns, placed my order and 2.5 hours later no pizza even though the app said it left 55 mins earlier and had been delivered. Food eventually turned up and driver claimed he had broken down but by that time had ordered food elsewhere and i will be requesting a full refund however that will go...avoid this site at all costs.

Last Sunday at 7:30pm some kid from the shop rings me telling me they run out of cheese and said he will refund it straight away. Instead, he marked it as delivered. Clearly stole the order I'd paid £33 for. Customer service team "investigating" and here I am on Thursday still waiting for confirmation of a refund. It's disgusting. I don't just have £33 to throw away. Nobody has done anything. That kid should get the sack. I hope the calls are recorded.

One of the worse ever customer service experience I ever had. Placed an order around 8.07pm and delivered at 10.20pm. Called the branch at Southborough around 9.15pm first and the guy over the phone not just being rude but when asked where my food was been told I was shouting and delayed due to one driver only and football and its on the road and hung the phone on me. Still no show after 10.00pm called again around 10.10pm to see what's happening and same guy denied that he wasn't the one spoke to me earlier and the same guy answered again and said the same that we only have one driver what do you think can't ask him go faster to deliver the food to you"" . ..seriously understandable at times can be tricky with less staff and all but not even weekend and Tuesday night although he kept saying Football night but was finished long ago and more than 2 hours to deliver small items instead being a bit courteous and expected a small apology to the customer and polite than being rude. More to it he said i was threatening him and swearing. Hilarious at the same time was he said my food was just left the store, same thing he said when i first called him around 9.15pm and ofcourse he again hung the phone in middle conversation. I honestly don't recommend these guys at this branch, one of the worse. Bad ...really is down the hill Papa John's in Tunbridge wells. Not even one star ...but won't leave this matter here to happen similarly to anyone else and how bad that this guy whoever he is kept saying " come to the store"..'come to the store" which tells all about who threatening and all. The food has arrived late, after an hour and a half. And the food was cold. It was basically just the pizza base. The toppings were missing. I have contacted the restaurant, the manager with bad manners told me that they did not have many ingredients left, and they have not had time to call customers. He told me that he would refund the amount paid, which never happened.

I always order for a collection. Food is always hot and on time. They don’t always have the drink i order or put enough sauce on their chicken wings but other than that never had an issue.

Shocking! Made an order of around £40. After an hour it was still being prepared. Tried to call, no answer. Ended up having to drive there to be told there wasn’t an order even though money had been taken. On the evening with the issues I contacted them on FB Messenger. They asked me if there’d been any update after half an hour later. I said no then didn’t get a response. Asked how to get a refund and they eventually responded saying I need to fill in a feedback form and I’ll hear back in 7-10 working days. I said this wasn’t good enough and they continued to tell me that as the social media team they can’t advise further. I will never order here again! Seems like a lot of people have had similar issues with this place recently reading these reviews. I honestly don’t know if I’ll even get a refund!

Terrible, always under staffed, regularly miss sauces or drinks off the order, usually cold when it turns up so have to send it back. We are still waiting for a refund 3 weeks later as we cancelled our order after waiting for nearly 2 hours. Can’t believe they have the audacity to hold a paying customers money for that long

Have ordered from here several times and often have issues with getting the wrong dips etc but nothing major and the food is generally good. Ordered from here last week and the wrong pizza turned up, so I called the branch to try and sort it out only to be put on hold for almost an hour before giving up and deciding to drive there to return it (completely defeating the point of getting a takeaway). When I turned up the branch was closed even though it was supposed to be open for another hour and a half. I contacted their customer support who told me that because I hadn't returned the pizza (which was impossible to do because nobody was doing their job and answering the phones/keeping the branch open) I couldn't get a refund. Will never order from them again.

Fast efficient service from this branch. Order was accurate and it was piping hot when I collected it.

Food never arrived, tracked it via the tracking system on their site. Contacted customer support, no refund given had to go through paypal. Didn't even get offered anything free for their complete and utter mess up. Beyond disappointed. Will tell my friends and family and social media following not to go there or order from this company and instead head to a different Pizza outlet place.

I had placed an order through your tunbridge wells store at 23:12 and its processed and charged me but no no other updates besides making my order. After waiting over an hour there was still no update and the store was then closed. Any attempt to call the store before closing time was met with a prerecorded message saying please call during opening hours, even though I was calling during the open hours. I ordered a pizza and it came in under 5 minutes it’s a really good service lovely people I have ever come a cross and last week I ordered a pizza and it got cancelled so I called up they picked up straight away and I asked for a refund and I got my money back with in 3 to 10 working days and there was no issues so there for it’s the best papa johns I have been to

Appalling customer service, ordered and the pizza after 40 minutes of app saying it was out for delivery had not arrived. Called southborough branch and the manager said it should have arrived ages ago and was on the way back from TN10 with it. I asked for a refund and got told this couldn’t be done in branch and would take up to 10 days. Manager refused to give his name due to data protection!! What a joke, I have used this branch for years and it has always been great. Such a poor experience from the nameless manager- be warned.

Extremely poor service. Pizza never arrived. Called 2 1/2 hours after ordering at 6:40pm, finally got through and they said it was on its way. After 3 hours (now 9:45pm), still no pizza and the order was then cancelled on their tracker. Will never use again. Now to try and get a refund for the pizza we have never received.

Two pizza’s ordered from Southborough on the 2/9, only one pizza out of the two I ordered turned up which took over 1 1/2 hours to deliver. I complained to the store where it was agreed a full refund. To date I have not had my refund even after sending an email and phoning head office. This is poor, I am owed money for a pizza I paid for and it appears Papa Johns are refusing to refund, why?. Will point out Southborough are usually good and have had no issues over the years. Pretty sure the issue is with head office re the refund.

Ordered at 6.50pm called at 7.40pm to ask where pizza was, assured me it was just out of oven….tried calling again….person hung up on me….pizza arrived at 8.30pm and clearly been left out for ages. Absolutely disgusting. We were delivered the wrong order and when we did receive the correct order it was cold. Pizza was so thick and doughy. I am actually feeling quite sick now. Not worth £24.

This place has really gone downhill. My last two orders have been really disappointing. From soggy crust and stingy toppings, to completely missing toppings and then, nearly one and a half hours for delivery. And to top it off, bad customer service when you call to ask 'where your pizza is?'. I used to sing this stores praise but sadly this will be my last time ordering from them and I advise anyone who is considering ordering from them to look elsewhere.

Ordered a pizza for delivery, when I called to check on progress I was told it was done as collection. They told me I’d have to pay more money to have it delivered despite being over the minimum order. They’ve also refused to refund me so I will have to contact customer services tomorrow. I’m down £12 and have no pizza.

Absolutely appalled and offended by the service received from this restaurant. Called to make a telephone order, made the order and paid for the order. Only to get a call 25 minutes later cancelling the order as they don't deliver to my postcode. Yet they deliver to postcodes past my home and to the next town that's 2 miles further away. Will be contacting corporate and raising a formal complaint about this shoddy service and understanding of geography. 12 years of being a loyal follower of papa johns being tarnished over an area code.

Slow delivery and horrible pizza

Sad that they can't deliver within 2 hours. What makes it worse is that the horrendous manager doesn't even bother answer the phone and makes the staff answer disgruntled customers. I've never seen such bad leadership.. I asked for the manager several times and was told repeatedly he was too busy.

Ordered food. Never turned up. Tried phoning and the phone is just off the hook. Jokers, don't order from them they are useless!

I will never order again. Ordered at 7:45pm food came at 9:30. Kept calling the store to check, no response, the tracking thing wasn’t updating either on their website. Kept kids starving then decided to double order from dominos, order was delivered finished dinner and then the papa John’s driver arrives. Sent it back, wasted time and money will never order again.

Awful awful pizza. How can a restaurant make pizza so badly? After ordering a Margherita & pepperoni , the sauce was flavourless , cheese also remarkably tasteless. The pepperoni itself curled up and was appalling in every aspect. My young kids even commented on how bad it was. If you like dough , lots of dough, then this is the place to go. Any supermarket will sell far superior pizza. Never eating this rubbish again.

Delivery times are terrible at this branch! Had an awful experience 3 months ago with 3 drivers being sent out. Gave them another chance today and have been waiting 1hr 20 mins. Ready for bed now. Think ill give them a miss next time Thanks

I ordered pizza from Papa Johns on the 10th Oct. The service was horrendous and after waiting over an hour for the pizza to arrive i received multiple phone calls from a delivery driver who was getting lost and could not find my address (it is not hard to find!), this went on for 20 minutes before I called Papa Johns Tunbridge Wells to take back the pizza and issue me a refund. It is now the 16th November- five weeks after I requested a refund- and I still have not received my refund. After calling the Tunbridge Wells branch over 10 times and every time being fobbed off with "an email has been sent", I raised the issue with Resolver on 22nd October. Eventually on 3rd November they assured me that my refund was being processed and asked to wait 3-5 working days. It has now been 10 working days and STILL NO REFUND! I reached out on twitter, hoping to have more luck, and the response i got was "they've already emailed you twice about this, wait 3-5 days for the refund to process"!!! A tone that I did not take kindly to, seeing as I have overall been waiting 26 working days and still no refund. Also no apology on twitter, just a bad attitude. I will never use Papa Johns again, and would recommend that no one uses them due to horrendous customer service and basically my money!

Pizza fine. But twice in a row, incomplete delivery. Asked delivery driver today if my BBQ sauce was in the box, he said "yes yes it's in there" and rushed off before I could check. Guess what wasn't in the box....

I have ordered from here at least 30 times. Rarely do i ever have a problem such as missing dips or wrong pizza. food is normally delicious! Today i walked in because i am local and wanted a good lunch. As i walked in i watched a driver insert his finger into his nose and then rub his face, he then picked up pizza boxes and put them into his bag for delivery.I left before ordering bogies!! All of this was whilst wearing no gloves or masks instore. So for this reason i am out!!!

Worst pizza I have ever seen. Inedible and the manager incredibly rude and useless. Didn't care at all and basically just said why did you order in the first place. Do not go here. As soon as I told them it wasn't possible for me to go to the store she said that me going there with the food is the only way for me to get a refund after previously saying it wasn't possible. Ordered from here during the corona virus, on the advice of my son. Seemed extortionately expensive till I found an offer that reduced the price by 40%. Also a good selection of veggie and vegan options. Arrived at my home on time - only criticism is that it might have been a bit warmer (but only a bit)
