Papa Johns Pizza in Exeter

Really good experience with papa John tonight, they didn’t have a part of my order so they rang me to inform me and let me choose something else instead. Quick delivery and hot food on arrival

Woke up at 1am to be sick with the pizza I consumed that evening. A healthy dose of food poisoning… never again will I eat papa johns

I ordered a pizza last night and I waited for three hours for nothing. Although they charged for it.

DO NOT ORDER from this place. Took over an hour to be delivered. The pizza came cold, burnt and unsliced. Tried to phone them 5 times to sort this out and they wouldn’t answer the phone…… Have left a complaint online as well. Very poor service. ** Edited ** After contacting Papa Johns head office on Facebook. They reimbursed me with a large pizza and 2 sides.

This was the last time we order from Papa Johns. Three hours late and cold. Order placed 1820. On the app it says 'Checking and Cutting' at 18.30 and stays like this for two hours. We ring store and get told it's waiting for a driver and they're busy. Another hour or so later and it's still not here, we ring again. From what the manager said it sounded like the pizza has left the restaurant, but no-one is clear where the driver is but it's ok, he'll remake it and send it out with another driver. Credit due to the manager, he was friendly and apologised. Another 30 minutes later the pizza arrives stone cold, rider on bike rocks up with the hot case wide open which means the pizza is cold and lacking the special garlic dip we paid extra for. This is such a disappointment. We've had pizza from here before without this level of utter inept calamity but we were left three hours late with cold pizza. If you have to order Papa Johns maybe get it from one of the other branches? Or make it yourself. I wish I had, would have been quicker. I emailed the company for a refund and they have agreed with further apologies which is fine, but we will not being using them again.

Further Update. It's now been a week. No refund and brag office claim they haven't received a clai for a refund. Going to trading standards I ordered my pizza at 7:43pm today. At 8:39pm my food was delivered cold. I phoned the manager at 8:40 and was told he would arrange a redelivery that would take 30-40 minutes, or I could drive to the store, return the food and get a refund. Forty minutes later a different manager rings to ask if I've had my delivery. No I have not. He's now going to deliver it apparently. No idea if the food will arrive, be cold or what. Should have stuck with Dominos Update - 2 hours and 2 lots of cold food delivered. Now have to wait 5 working days for a refund. They should make the delivery driver Jacob the manager as he's the only one who tried to help and didn't lie to me

Shocking. Waited over an hour for order. Decided to call the store to be told they had run out of dough. Laughable

Ordered out pizza. Selected to pay cash, and... The order never turned up, it was delivered to someone else or just dumped. Obviously these people didn't pay, as Papa Johns Exeter is now trying to get us to pay. Threatening phone calls at all hours, letters - some of which seem to pretending to be from solicitors. Add in "Late payment fees" and "Interest" for this food we never received, and we could afford to buy our own franchise. Why they want us to pay for an order we never had is clearly explained as "we can not be held responsible for errors in delivery, and you should have made reasonable attempts to reclaim the order". Yes, that's right. I should have gone out, searching door to door, for whomever the driver had decided to feed.

Don't buy here, rubbish company. They deny payslips and well earned money to employees, usually young people. And when these claim the lady 'manager' block and ignore them.

Food never turned up called them up and said theres no drivers! At 22.15pm I ordered and I didn't receive a call to let me know, instead they left me waiting having to call them up.

Only part of our order turned up, and that had already been opened... We ordered for delivery, and specified the time. Thirty minutes after this time the driver turned up with the wrong food, he had picked up the wrong order and ours was with another driver...somewhere. He honestly expected up to take it - no thanks, we wanted three large pizza plus sides, and we don't one one small pizza instead. If we wanted our order we would have to wait until it was returned to the branch, we told the driver we would have a fresh order prepared - and I phoned the branch to confirm this would happen. Or at least I tried to. The "manager" at the branch - who refused to give his name - didn't car, we had a pizza, it didn't matter if it was ours. Food is food. If I had a problem take it up with head office, and he hung up. But it gets better. Two hours after this, the driver turned up again with what he claimed was our order. I looked at the top box, the seal was broken, slices were missing and rearranged to look whole, and stone cold. Yummy. Yes, someone else had eaten our order and they expected us to accept what was left.

Ordered online saying store is open to end up that the store is actually closed after taking my money

Just had delivered from here, Saturday night 8pm and have to say it was super! Fast delivery, pizzas full of toppings nice delivery man! We had 3 vegan pizzas and nuggets - so good! Photo doesn't look as good as it was

Quick service. Pizza is ready for collection within 30 minutes after placing the order. Pizza is hot but a bit too dry. Would prefer Domino's.

Aweful. Should have spent £4 on one from the shop. Would have tasted better and been hot or at least warm when I ate it. Freezing cold when it got here, got the order wrong, took an hour and a half to get here and tasted like cheap produce. Would never recommend.

Cant share on atmosphere as it was delivered. But as a former Dominos Pizza employee... can honestly say this pizza is better. It actually arrived hot (unlike Dominos 90% of the time)

Robbed two pizzas told me after I paid they can't deliver 1vmile down the road from the store because it is outside their delivery zone

Very tasty pizza, great value meal deal. Would highly recommend. Spent £22 for 2 large pizzas, both turned up hot and with plenty of toppings

Imagine waiting over 3hrs for a pizza to be delivered. The guy on the phone, I think he was called Tom was utterly useless saying made up times of when our pizza was going to be delivered. I was initially told a 1.5hr wait when calling 45 mins after ordering for an update and then told up to 30 minutes each time we called for an update afterwards. He also stated we couldn’t get a refund until Monday when the manager was in, yet when the poor driver turned up, who looked like he had been overworked all night, he told us that the refund could be issued right away and would expected to be in the bank on 3-5 working days. Poor sense of leadership or any form of decision making in there it seems but I won’t be ordering from here again just in case I have to wait until after midnight again just to receive a manky old pizza that was made hours prior. If it is true that you had only 1 driver out on a Saturday night (which is ridiculous) why would you not limit delivery orders or not even inform customers of any kind of delay either when ordering or straight after the order was placed. UPDATE: 6 weeks later and no refund received, they are denying all responsibility. Robbed by a food chain, who would’ve thought!!

No matter you do, don't order from this place. You better off getting a frozen pizza from COOP. Boycot this pakistani. They are rude and dirty! No health and safety there!

Was due for an interview got the 5 mins early was then told the manager had broken down so wanted to reschedule for the next day. Then was told it was my fault cause I dident have a scheduled interview when I did as I had text confirmation of the interview terrible management. Gonna work for domino’s instead

2 stars for the service because he served me straight away,,,,, no stars for the pizza due to lack of toppings ... I will try here again, but honestly if I wanted cheese on toast I'd make it myself!!!

Terrible customer service. They never answer their phone. The delivery tracker says the pizza has arrived long before you receive it. Today it went from "cutting and checking" to delivered in a few seconds. It finally arrived about 20 minutes later. I'm not going to bother ordering from this place again

Placed an order a night before on the website without realising it was for 11:45 the next day, at 12:00 that day upon not receiving the order or any update on the online tracker I phoned the restaurant asking to council the order. The guy that answered the phone sounded confused about counselling the order and asked what name was the oder placed in. Upon providing my name the guy on the phone said there’s no order placed in my name. As I explained to the guy that I’ve got an email and order number he said "I found it I had to go to the back office" did not apologise about the mistake on there end for not accepting the order and did not mention if I would get a refund or how long it will take until it will process. Now having to wait 3-5 working days to get my money back! Never get this problem with Domino’s.

Wow the dough is superb and made with care and flair

I haven't had a pizza for 6 months and Papa John's did not disappoint, a bit of a problem ordering online but that was probably me doing something wrong. I phoned the shop and a very helpful man sorted the order for me. Was told it would be with me in twenty minutes and it was, arrived piping hot. One of the best pizzas I've ever had, double pepperoni and meat feast. Also had the garlic six cheese bread, oh my!!!!! Puts all other garlic bread to shame, a must for any garlic bread lover. Will definitely be using Papa John's pizza from now on.

Had an unusually bad experience here. Generally in the past everything has been great. The order from the app got scrambled, the guy serving came out for behind the counter without a face mask, the pizzas were late (I'd ordered for a specific time), they were cold, generally not up to the standard we were used to. I don't know if it's a one off but will be avoiding for a while. Domino's is just around the corner

Good quality food they do let themselves down I've had to phone them because they've added the wrong toppings to pizzas which someone is allergic too and most recently I ordered Pepsi Max but they gave me Pepsi which is full of sugar and someone in the house is Diabetic and didn't offer to do anything.

Ordered online using their own website. Had been 1 hour 40 with no delivery. Called and they said it was being made and said their own system was sending orders through 30 minutes delayed. Called again after 2 hours. Said the driver was stuck on top sham road and offered us free ice cream. Checked on Google maps and there was no traffic on that road. Really disappointed.

I'm missing an item iv ordered and my wedges are under cooked. papa John's said I have to contact just eat, iv done that and they are saying they cannot help me online at the mo. Iv called papa John's again and was told there is nothing they can do and there was no manager on site I could talk to and he hung up on me!!!!! Not impressed, awful customer service!

We opted for delivery on a Sunday night. The delivery took over an hour. Following a call to the shop we were told it was just coming. 15 mins later we got another call. The guy couldn't speak english so giving directions was a waste of time. My husband in his pyjamas got in the car to find the delivery guy. He was lost, didn’t speak enough English to ask for directions and ended up in the local pub a mile away. After another 15 mins we got a call from the pub to say our food was there. My husband in his pyjamas went into the pub to pick up his food. AVOID!!! If I could give zero stars I would, cold, late food and paid for additional ingredients not added.

Always order pizza from here, always the same toppings and never had a problem, great pizza until today. I called to say that the pizza was no good as was hardly any toppings at all, sauce only covered the center of the pizza leaving about 8cm around the edge on a xxl pizza being just dry dough base. I Was told i was talking to the manager and he had made the pizza and i was lying, very rude and awful respect for customers. Probably the last visit here........one of your regular customers no more.

Absolutely first class I had a massive problem with the staff up sidwell street laughing at me when I came in at 10:40 to get a pizza and the two guys here were kind enough to keep serving this is the best papa John's in Exeter. I would recommend that you come here in the future hands down not the one in sidwell street.

Placed an order yesterday for my son's birthday party at Brick and Mix. No fuss with ordering and delivery was prompt and on-time. The whole experience was an extremely good one and the food was excellent. Will definitely be using again. Really top notch.

pizza was soggy and greasy to the point where i couldnt eat it. then they put the phone down on me when i complained.

Papa john's St Thomas Exeter was obviously burnt. Rubbish pizza.

Almost cold pizza which was burnt on the bottom, sauces were missing and brownie was burnt. Really dissapointing and couldn't get a fresh pizza delivered because two slices had been eaten.

If you're looking for a chain pizza delivery, Papa John's makes the best.

Pizza was nice but cold. Due to the delivery driver going 4 miles the wrong way as he's sat navigation told him to grrrrrr

My new favourite pizza delivery shop. Pizza was lovely and the delivery was faster than other chains. If they change their garlic sauce to something better they will achieve greatness. :-)

Pizza's are lovely, way above Dominos and Pizza Hut, however my husband and I dislike the garlic sauce, which tasted like melted butter. Will certainly have pizza from here again, just without the sauce.

We collected some pizzas, they got the order slightly wrong, we called explained the situation they quickly sent out pizza to right the wrong and then even followed up with a phone call to ensure everything was ok. Top service from a new Papa John's awesome! Will definitely use again!
