Papa Johns used to be my go-to pizza place as it was local, has a points system, and I have a love for the garlic dip. I ordered from here because I was going to lose my points. I felt like I could barely taste any of the pizza toppings. It came with halloumi, which has a salty taste, and there was just nothing - perhaps it was from being baked on the pizza? I'm not sure. The peppers were spicy and nice on their own, but I didn't feel like it went well with the pizza. I'm also disappointed that it no longer comes with the buttery dip, and you have to pay extra for it. I ordered loads of sides. I like the cauliflower wings, which were crispy and delicious. The garlic bread is huge with loads of cheese on the top. I also ordered potato tots, where I got my dip fix from. Would've been nice for more sides to have a "pick your dip" option. Also, the food was lukewarm at best. I know they didn't have a delivery driver and had to use an Uber, so perhaps its just a consequence of that. I immediately got an email apologising for the delay and a code for a free pizza, so at least Papa Johns is aware of the challenges it's facing. Really ashame. But I'll probably still go back to redeem this pizza code. Hopefully, there will be improvements when I return.

I had a very disappointing experience at Papa John’s recently. I ordered a small pizza without sweetcorn and even reminded the staff, but a man with a covered cloth on his head ignored my request and added sweetcorn anyway. When I pointed out the mistake, the manager became dismissive and questioned me in a rude tone. Instead of remaking the pizza as requested, he started removing the sweetcorn by hand, which felt unhygienic. I tried to explain the situation, but it seemed like there was a communication issue. If the staff member had difficulty understanding my request, it would have been helpful for him to acknowledge that instead of ignoring it. After some back-and-forth, the manager finally remade the pizza, but it was an uncomfortable experience. This situation highlighted a lack of professionalism and attention to hygiene. I hope Papa John’s can improve communication to avoid these issues in the future.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at this Papa John’s. I ordered a small pizza and made it clear that I didn’t want sweetcorn on it. Despite my request, the staff member—who wore a turban—added sweetcorn anyway. When I pointed this out, he became defensive and insisted that I had asked for sweetcorn, which I absolutely hadn’t. His tone quickly turned aggressive as he kept pressing me about whether I wanted sweetcorn, even though I’d been clear from the start. What happened next was shocking. Instead of remaking the pizza, he began using his bare hands to remove the sweetcorn, disregarding basic hygiene. I expressed my concern and asked for a fresh pizza, but he argued that there was “nothing wrong” with his approach. Only after a frustrating back-and-forth did he finally decide to make a new pizza. This entire interaction was incredibly uncomfortable. I understand language barriers can happen, and that’s not an issue—but the unprofessional, argumentative attitude and lack of respect for basic food hygiene were unacceptable. This place seriously needs to improve its hygiene.

Part of my order was tater tots with bacon and cheese (extra £2 for this). They must have ran out of bacon and didn’t care to notify me to decide if I wanted any alternative. Instead they sent me tater tots with ham and cheese on. I DONT eat ham! Ever! So it was a waste of money. It would have been better customer service to call me and ask if I wanted plain tater tots or cheese only etc. instead of putting another meat on it which you assume I will want to eat. You got it wrong there

I was Sent a bacon pizza despite requesting no pork on the pizza.. when I rang up I was later told that you should not order chicken either as it’s crossed contaminated with pork too. Pizza sloppy, wings undercooked. Very disappointed. Food poor quality and bad customer service. I Will never order from here again

Chicken club, BBQ Chicken and Haiwan are deliciously great! Only did pick up and pizzas are always pipping hot!! Promotions are the icing on the cake and made the pizzas even more affordable & worthwhile.

Was very happy to hear a Papa John's was opening in Carlton as I normally ordered from the Arnold branch, thought I would give it a go - was highly disappointed! The chicken poppers wasn't even cooked & the pizza was full of grease with not much toppings! Called the branch & spoke to someone who sounded like they was teenager who then passed me to the manager who sounded like another teenager & didn't even have a clue about anything - in the end he put the phone down on me. Called back & the person put the phone down on me. Will not be ordering from this branch again & highly recommend other people not too!

Booked on line but weren't expecting us when we got there. No orders taken at table but had to join a long queue to order food and drinks,then waited 40 mins for food. Food very disappointing, undercooked veg and roasts,gravy very thin and waterey,yorkshire puds uneatable. Will not be returning.

I went this evening with my parents and unfortunately found it disappointing,the food was poor chips were cold the salad wasn’t fresh it looked days old ,the chicken on the burger was cold and dry and un edible ,the only thing that was ok was the sticky toffee pudding ,we told the waitress but she wasn’t interested at all she just walked away staff are rude too.shame it’s gone downhill as we have always enjoyed coming but that was our last time I’m afraid
