If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered a pizza at 8:30pm. It then reached 9:30pm with still no updates via my app, so called to be told by Viorel, one of the employees, that the internet was down and I could “do what I want about it” before he hung up on me. I then called back and he told me that they were closing the store. I asked then what is going to happen about my order and he just kept saying “we are closing in 5 minutes”. I asked to speak to the manager or whoever was in charge and he told me that they “wasn’t there”. I then decided to drive down to the store because there is no way anyone runs a store without at least one person in charge of the shift. When I got there the door was locked so I knocked to get the attention of the person stood at the till, who was clearly Viorel because he looked at me and acted as if he could not see me. I have since checked and the points used in my order are gone and the money has still been taken from my account and not refunded or cancelled. The customer service received from this person was absolutely appalling and is seriously letting your store down if this is the way he speaks to customers who just want an update on their order or a quick resolution to the problem. Will never use this store again!

Absolutely rubbish horrible food never ordering again all burnt greasy and took a hour to come and there tracking does not work properly had to ring them even they said there tracking is rubbish

So I basically placed an order on Saturday 12th just gone. After waiting for over an hour for someone to knock on my door with my food, they never did! Im considered vulnerable and I live in a shared property so one of the other residents would’ve taken the food inside for me if I didn’t answer it myself. But there was NOT a knock or a doorbell sound whatsoever! I rang up about it but they decided to blame ME for it and asked me to ‘pick it up’ when I struggle to get out much as it is! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely like the food from papa johns. But I am not happy with this recent experience. Poor customer service. They won’t even refund me the £18 I spent! And that wasn’t even on a main pizza!

Food was late and the driver forgot to give us the big bottle of Pepsi

Absolute rubbish, the online system let's you order to Wallingford. After half hour I get an email saying there's a problem with the order, call them for them to say they don't actually deliver here! I hope I actually get my refund! Not hopeful after reading the reviews!

Never got delivered and dtill got charged, wouldn't recommend. Go to farmshop or caprinos instead

My last review was removed for some reason, but seeing Louise’s experience that mirrored my own, I felt compelled to make sure another warning about this lot went up. Like Louise, they took payment and sent an order confirmation. Like Louise they did not make my order. They lied to me about dispatch. Unlike Louise, When I eventually went there, with proof of payment and order confirmation, they still refused to honour my order. Like Louise, if there was an option for less than one star, they would firmly deserve it.

Staff are good and its open which is handy, perfectly fine pizza. My only issue is pizza comes with a "special garlic sauce" which does not taste of garlic and seems to be margarine... What's going on with that? Not good.

If I could give 0, I would. Ordered a delivery to Wallingford. An hour and a half later hadn't arrived. Rung and got told they could not see it on their system despite the money being taken from bank account and an email sent confirming order. Told we were the 2nd people that night it had happened to, but we would need to drive to Didcot to prove we had ordered it. Got to Didcot with proof and told they would not give us our pizza. Asked for manager and told them this was fraud. Suddenly they could make order. Disgraceful!

They would not answer the phone and when I went there the guy was really rude I will tell all my friends never to go there ever

Pizza never arrived even though they are absolutely convinced they delivered it. Waited for an hour and a half, rang a few times chasing but they kept saying it’s on its way… to then say it’s been delivered. We have a ring camera and definitely no cars have driven past - no one has been here. They said they’d refund me but won’t send a confirmation email so will be shocked if I get my money back. Just chaos.

Genuinely quite a bit nicer than other papa John's places I've ordered from. The delivery was in the expected time, the delivery driver was friendly and polite, and the food was tasty and hot on arrival. I don't think you can ask for much more than that.

The side was not handed over with the rest of the food, when I noticed I went to call but couldn't get through. A while later as we were eating, the driver returned to deliver this missing item. I greatly appreciate them coming to amend the issue like that.

Cannot complain about restaurant but the driver was rude and has no customer service. Stated she had been knocking for ten minutes. Funny that we had been sitting watching tv for about that time and there was no knocking so if that was correct she knocked then waited 10 minutes to knock again. So she missed out on a tip

There are far better pizza options locally, but at least you know what you're getting with this lot.

The worst manager ever his manner was so rude Never wash his hands from being outside The pizza was disgusting it wasn't cooked properly I won't be going back Unto the manager leans some manner and there hygiene is better taken care of The shop was a mess with fly's the pizza made me feel sick and my dog won't touch it as well Also he talk dirty to young women made me feel very uneasy Not recommended

Ordered a pizza deal on the app, as I do quite regularly. This was confirmed and accepted. 2 hours go by and no word of my pizza. Finally I get an email explaining there was an issue but not even the common decency to explain what the issue was. After phoning the store they explain that their system is down and they will issue me a refund. So thanks for making me wait 2 hours for no food but also to make me thankful you'll return my money that you should never have accepted.. you have lost a loyal customer for life!

They were already one of the more expensive options but now with the changes of offers and a £1.99 delivery charge on top of the existing minimum £13 order for delivery it's an absolute waste of time and money to order for delivery. If I wanted to pay that much I'd go to an actual restaurant. Time to instead stack up on some of the many decent frozen pizzas for a quarter or the price now...

The food was cold never going there again

IT HASNT CAME IVE STAYED AWAKE FOR AN HOUR AND HAD NO FOOD WHAT THE F IS THIS????

Ordered a pizza on sunday 26/06/2022 and it turned up bang on the time I ordered it for, great I thought. I delved into the box to taste the cheesy and meaty delights that I had waited for. Upon finishing I was fully satisfied that was until an hour later when I started to feel unwell. Subsequently that evening I found myself with my head firmly placed in the toilet expelling said pizza I had eaten not but afew hours prior and have had to take days off of work as a result of the food poisoning I have received. Would I recommend to a friend you ask? Yes, yes I would. I would recommend that they stay as far away as possible and order from somewhere else (cough dominos cough) hopefully no one else falls victim to my unfortunate experience.

Food was piping hot well cooked and lots of topping. Could not fault and will definitely have again

Just awful. The food arrived cold. Ordered at 16.24. Arrived at 17.15 (with inaccurate information on the online tracker claiming it was delivered at 16.56). Had to call up and ask for a full refund. Food was inedible.

The pizza was good had the hawaiian pizza, there was hardly any pineapple on it for that price.

I was heading to see friends and taking pizza for us for an early 5:30pm dinner. I hadn't tried any of the pizza places in Didcot, but had enjoyed Papa John's a few times in Reading over the years. So despite the less than brilliant reviews & ratings the Didcot branch has on Google and TripAdvisor, I decided to go for it. I ordered through the app, which was easy. choosing the £28.99 deal- two large "The Works" pizzas, two sides and a bottle of Pepsi Max. You can track your order progress on the app and so I arrived to collect my order a couple minutes after I was notified it was ready. It took 15 minutes to drive to my friends place, so I put the food in an insulated bag to keep it hot before we tucked in. The pizza, we all agreed, was good! Still hot, nicely topped, well cooked, tasty and not greasy . The sides were decent too, tater tots and Jalapeño poppers. For 4 of us, there was plenty to eat. We couldn't fault the food at all and based on this experience, we'd all be happy to order from here again. 👍🏻🍕😋

Here's the explanation for my rating ; I've tried several times this "not so good reviewed" (2.8 stars) Papa John's Pizza in Didcot. I am not from Oxfordshire, just contracting in this area time to time. However, I am absolutely satisfied with both the service and the product of this shop. I have ordered at least 6 times in the last few months before decided to rate/comment this place. As many of us Im also looking for a good deal when comes to order any fast foods and Papa John's Pizza in Didcot just now offered a very good deal for collection. A large pizza for £7.99! Again, it was not a first time for me to receive goods from this place and I have to tell you that I have not been disappointed! The ingredients are fresh and generously topped my pizza that is rarely seen at any other well-known brands. Love the taste and the kind service that's came with smile every time. Thank you and please keep it up this excellent work!

What an awful pizza. The pizza was so greasy I couldn’t even taste the flavour and it was cold. I also had vegan cauliflower bites that were cold and soggy. Waste of money

Pizza took 1 hr 15 mins to arrive. Arrived barely warm. Shame because the taste was good. Tracking app on order didn't work so phoned store and they could only apologize for the delay as they have one driver. Better to not accept orders than let people down I reckon... Was bought as a company lunch and we ended up with some hungry staff :-(!

Pizza was horrible and none of the five staff crowded around chatting were wearing a face mask. Never again.

Food was decent, if a bit greasy. Got the wrong drink too

All food required dip which I ordered more of but none arrived, can deal with 1 or 2 missing most times but all meals didn’t come with any. Please double check next time :)

Delivery was great, bang on time. However, one of the pizzas wasn't right. Suspect chicken wasn't up to standard. Tasted not quite right & suffered awful stomach all night. Fortunately, the little one only had cheese & tomato so seemed to escape

Ordered numerous times from Papa John's and have never had an issue yet, delivery time is nearly always spot on sometimes a little earlier never late, food is always hit and the delivery staff are polite and courteous, cannot fault anything

Our order was very late. When arrived we hadn’t 100% satisfied with our food either poorly made and slapped together.

Very poor signage for COVID information. Staff extremely rude and unfriendly. Delivery staff walking through preparation areas not washing hands and handling items with no protective clothing. Staff uniforms were not present and hygiene and handling of foods was terrible.

They said they had delivered my food so I had to ring them. They gave me a random address it had apparently been delivered too but when we went through the order together they had my correct address. Half hearted apology given and still waiting to see if anything turns up. Hopefully it’s fresh!

I did not enjoy the new vegan pizza, I think that vegan cheese needs some improvement. Also the label didn’t include my whole address so it made delivery a bit awkward.

We ordered from papa Johns in didcot 5pm on Saturday and requested asap delivery. It arrived at 5:30pm to our pleasant surprise! We were missing a dip, but that was all to complain about! The pizzas were great, and good value with the offer (£25 for two pizzas, two sides and drink). It was nice to see the plentiful vegan options, particularly the inclusion of vegan sausage on the menu. Will be ordering again!

They would not pick up the phone they tainted my meal with their rude manners. He said 30-40mins when the pizza arrived I conplained about the wait time the pizza was cold rip off rude staff. £12.95 on cold pizza and rude behaviour not on!

The reviews are very misleading. The pizza is amazing and the staff seem to be making the best effort possible. The best papa johns I have ever had. The fresh ingredients and tasty dough make all the difference! Highly recommend it.

Went here on 22nd November 2019 and the pizza was fantastic. I am really surprised by the poor reviews but management must have changed. This was the best Papa John's I've had. Pizza loaded with toppings nicely spread and perfectly cooked. It looks like the manager was the chef, the guy is doing a cracking job.

We had to wait an hour for our pizza on a Tuesday night at 5 o'clock when they really couldn't have been busy. I will NOT use them again

Medium pizza with two toppings anytime from 11am to 5pm for £4.99. Delicious pizza base, tasty tomato paste and comes with a yummy garlic dip. Medium is enough for two for lunch and it's ready in about 10 minutes. Best take away pizza by far.

Same as everyone else really , ordered online and no delivery after nearly a hour and a half, eventually went down to the store where one employee swore in front of me offered no apology but offered to make my ordered pizzas immediately . I had tried to phone but no one ever answered and whilst I was in the shop the phone just rang and rang. WHAT A JOKE!!! I won't be ordering again! Add to that when I got home I discovered that my vegetarian Garden party pizza contained chicken! Back to Domino's I go! Update - After discovering that new franchise owners had taken over I decided after a year to give Papa John's another go. What a mistake , pizza was ok but they made one pizza the wrong size then was extremely rude when this error was pointed out and refused a refund despite our proof. Terrible service and we will now never go back. Without customers no business can survive!!
