Papa John's Pizza in Forest Heath

I recently placed an order with Papa John’s through Uber Eats, excited for some food. Unfortunately, the delivery experience didn’t go quite as planned. My order took over two hours to arrive, which was much longer than expected. Since I ordered through Uber Eats, there wasn’t a tracking option, so I had no real way of knowing when the order would actually show up. I tried calling the listed number about 7 times to get a status update or possibly cancel, but I couldn’t reach anyone. This was a bit confusing, as the number matched the one listed on Papa John’s website, so I wasn’t sure if it was out of date or just very busy. Eventually, I ordered from a different restaurant, which delivered promptly. By the time the Papa John’s delivery finally arrived, I had already finished my meal. The courier was very polite and understanding, and I felt bad for him, considering the long drive he had to make to deliver the order so late. After looking into it, I realized that other customers have faced similar issues with delivery delays and communication challenges when ordering from Papa John’s through third-party apps. I hope Papa John’s can consider improving communication for these types of orders, whether by offering an estimated time update or adding contact methods that work reliably. This would definitely make me feel more confident about ordering from them in the future!

Absolutely terrible, the staff acts like they dont have time for you and when you track your order it will be “delivered” but it wont be. I had to call after 1.5 hours waiting and they just said “ok on the way” and hung up. Papa johns needs to fix this because its no only the service. The pizza is trash also and just thrown together in there. Hopefully they get your order right👍

Arrived slightly earlier than we asked but the food arrived warm, well presented and was tasty.

I ordered pizza at 9pm, kept an eye on the tracker 1 hour later it finally said pizza being delivered, 30 minutes later app said pizza delivered. I then called the store, the guy said ‘yes it’s being delivered’ 15 minutes later I could have walked there and back still nothing, I call back guy says ‘sorry my driver can’t find you, can you collect and hung up’ worst service I’ve ever had. GO TO DOMINOS!

Ordered a pizza for 11:30am. Tracker said it arrived at 11:30 (it didn't). Called up to a very rude representative to be told the order was on its way. Half an hour later still nothing. Called again to be told "I've already told you it's on its way". Which was clearly a lie. Pizza turned up... eventually.

Rude on the phone, they have twice marked my order as "delivered" and it never arrived. Order from Anatolia, the pizza is better anyway; I didn't think that deliver though.

We don't have a Papa Johns by us, so whenever we are in the area we come here for dinner and to stock up on dips lol. The team are always really friendly. The food has always been piping hot and our order has been spot on everytime.

Wow! Took an hour and 10 mins for my very small pizza and sides to arrive. All nearly cold! When I called to complain the poor girl on the phone said her manager didn’t speak good English and would not speak to me. Offered me a replacement if they collected the meal they had delivered! Er, and you wanted to give that to someone else cold I expect! Sort this franchise out! Terrible!

Twice in a row we have been badly let down by this store. Today we placed an order for delivery and, after more than an hour, the tracker hadn't moved off 'we have received your order'. We called and, after two calls and 40 minutes, it turned out that, despite my order number and confirmation email, the store didn't have our order. Our only option was to come in to place the order again and wait to collect it. This was after being told repeatedly we must have ordered from the Newmarket store (we hadn't) and that our address was in Beck Row (again, it's not). As the store didn't have our order the only way I can get a refund is to contact customer services. So that's fun. The previous disaster was similar but they at least had our order... Just no one to deliver it so we had to collect it two hours after ordering. Fine in comparison to tonight's fiasco. No wonder Papa John's is tanking...

I was ordering online and I was DISAPPOINTED by EVERYTHING!!! We ordered at 7:45 and it’s now almost 9 with no Pizza. This has happened for the 4th time in a row(we only went 4 times). Terrible . TERRIBLE I SAY!!!

I’ve never ordered from there before and I never will again. The toppings were almost non-existent!! I don’t have cheese so I basically got a crust with a bit of sauce on. Plus it was stone cold. Absolutely disgusting!!

2 hours for cold pizza. Waited 1 hour before I called for an update and was told to meet the driver as he doesn't have access to where I live. Then waited at the meeting location for an hour to be greeted with pizza that had been driven around the whole time. Only thing nice about the experience was the driver, but I had no patience left for any form of conversation by the time he delivered.

This location seems to have made a habit of marking food “delivered” before the driver actually delivers. I find I usually get my food between 30-45 minutes after they marked it delivered. Food is usually cold upon arrival.

The mildenhall branch is very dodgy. Ordered something and they replaced it with something else and didn’t even say anything called for a refund they refused to give me a refund. Food always over and hour before being delivered and cold. Calling trading standards as this is outrageous. If you cant provide the service refund the customer.

Won't be ordering from here again. Currently been waiting 2 hours for my pizza and counting... I'm so tired and want to go to bed but can't until it comes. I rang the store and she said the delivery driver was on his way. They didn't care to let me know my pizza would be this late if I hadn't rang them. Update - pizza came just over 2 hours after ordering. Delivery driver needs to learn basic manners like saying 'hello' or 'you're welcome' or 'enjoy'. Papa John's need to remove this franchise from the owner as they are doing a great job at utterly destroying Papa John's reputation.

Pizza arrived over 2 hours after ordering. Food was luke warm and the delivery driver was rude. Would recommend you buy a frozen one and slapping yourself in the face over ordering from here.

It's really hit or miss. Sometimes the pizzas are cold and tasteless, other times they are fine. Also, apparently, if they don't have a delivery driver and you have a scheduled delivery, they are supposed to call and let you know. We never received a call and when the pizza did finally come it was cold and hard as a rock. Lady said they were supposed to call us and let us know. We did get a free pizza but I had to specifically ask her for compensation for the mistake as she didn't offer any. It'd be different if we hadn't been throwing a party and scheduled this way ahead of time. We've had good experiences here too though which is why I'm giving 3 stars. That's why I say it's hit or miss.

Pizza arrived a little late, driver was polite. The double pepperoni pizza had no more than 2pieces of pepperoni per slice and some had 1 piece of pepperoni. Crust tasted like it was a little old and the toppings and sauce only covered about 2/3of pizza leaving masses of crust with nothing in, far more than acceptable.

I've never had a good experience ordering from this Papa John's. Every delivery has either forgotten an item or has been late. Same story as the other reviews. Most recent delivery arrived two hours late, and still haven't been offered any sort of compensation for THEIR waste of MY time.

Placed an order online, and never delivered the items. The order say’s delivered as well online. This has happened a few time before so it’s becoming a trend now. Wouldn’t recommend

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! I really would avoid this place. It was my partner’s birthday and we ordered 2 pizzas. Got the wrong pizza delivered and was told that night we would get a replacement… time went on… Ended staying up past 12 but still no pizza. No refund even though the store said they world process a refund. It’s been like 2-3 weeks now. Totally shocked at the service provided and won’t be ordering here again!!!

Ordered pizza at 9:15pm, it's now 11:54pm and have still not received it!!! Tried phoning several times with no answer! Could have flown to Italy quicker and got a proper Italian pizza from there! It's absolutely ridiculous, I live at Lakenheath and it's only a 10-15 minute drive away. I doubt I'd be ordering from here again! So now me and my family are left hungry and we've got to be up early in the morning and I'm left out of pocket!!!! Have had the same experience as everyone else multiple times now. Place an order and it arrives hours later. The "track order" always says delivered like 30 minutes after order. Call the store multiple times to have them say, your order is out for delivery. Not worth it anymore.

Absolutely bloody awful.. ordered at 9.28, took 3 hours to arrive! Driver said it was because he was in brandon?? I asked why it took so long and he's said 'I'm just the driver' hmmm okay.. Pizza cold and soggy, husband left for work so didn't get any dinner.. tried calling and calling and calling and calling but no one answers the phone apparently.. toppings missing off pizza, wrong drink sent.. Never again..

Love the staff at Mildenhall store!

After getting delivery we noticed missing items. A bottle of Pepsi and 2 sauces. I called the Mildenhall store and after being placed on hold for several minutes I was told I would get a call back. After 20 minutes I called the store again to ask if I could just come pick up my missing items and was told that wasn't possible due to inventory issues.and my only recourse was to email. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

Awful experience! Ordered at 8pm. Finally delivered gone 11pm. Over 3 hours for a pizza delivery at a charge of £2.50 for the privilege of waiting that long. Food was not up to scratch and almost cold within minutes of delivery. Had a text to say my food had been delivered at 8:25pm. So called the store to find out what was happening. Apparently my order was placed on hold due to lack of delivery drivers. But no notification from the store, so if I had not of called, I would not have known. Was told I could pick it up if I wanted it quicker…… Even though apparently my food apparently had been delivered according to the app/text. Called again at 10:30pm, to be told my order will go out with the next available delivery driver. 4/4/23 Update: Had an email from Papa Johns customer services wanting to readdress the issues that I had. Asked me to send all the information requested. I replied on the 16/3/23. I received a confirmation email saying that they had received my response and would be in contact within 5 working days….. Guess what? Still waiting for a response. What a joke Papa Johns are! Obviously no care for customers or the service they received. My advice, order from Domino’s instead 👍🏻

Definitely deserving of its 3 star rating. Foods always great, but often you have to wait 1-2 hours, if not more. Sometimes the foods colder than you’d like it to be, too. Currently waiting at 2 hours and counting as I write this.

Disgusting service ordered 630pm by 8pm no pizza. I called they told me food would be another hour. No call to say they where busy no form of apology. Then told me it would be 3-7 days before they refunded me

Delivery : very long with a rude young lad stating "I can't find your house" hmm ok what are you going to do about that ? Everytime we tried to help him and asked him where he was, he was completely clueless, when we said "oh do you know X Y Z street?" He was just answering "no". Oh wow very helpful mate... We had to go out to find him and pick up our delivery... How complicated is it, nowadays, to use a smartphone/sat nav and type our address ? Everyone (Asda, dominos, others take away, Tesco, B&Q, DHL...) Manage to find our house Food : pizzas were good but because of deliveries issues (more than once) we will not re order.

Website tracking always says delivered 45 minutes before it arrives and when it does arrive the order is cold and/or wrong!! Two and a half hours delivery is not acceptable on a regular January Saturday from a small market town. Absolutely terrible!! This is not the first time either it’s basically like warm and late every time!! Other companies can manage to keep food warm covering the same distance!! Never going to use you again! Too many chances!! No more!! They fail at their own speciality. It’s not rocket science!! If I could leave zero stars I would.

Papa John's are normally excellent but this franchise is very poor. 2 hours after ordering the website showed it as delivered to us, but we were still waiting. We rang up to query this and were told it is out for delivery (no apologies for long wait). Nearly 3 hours after ordering it turned up, lukewarm and in a crushed, soggy box. The staff had placed the reinforcement inserts near the edge of the box so they didn't protect the pizza. It ended up with half the toppings stuck to the top of the box. I would have rejected it but as it was so late we made do. Will not be using them again.

Pizza has always been great. But, Multiple times, when we have ordered, the delivery drivers will take the pizza to the apartment attached to our building. Every time, we have listed our house name on the address section and every time, the delivery driver tells us to put the house name. This needs to be fixed on the website so that the delivery drivers are able to see the full address listed by customers. No hate to the delivery drivers as it’s not their fault.

Never been disappointed by this Papa John's. The staff is always pleasant and friendly and the food is delicious!

EDIT: After waiting the 20 minutes for the driver to arrive he still hasn’t shown up. I called the number he had contacted me on and he said another 10 minutes. Let’s see if he’s telling the truth this time. Waiting 45+ minutes after the store confirmed that the driver had left the store when the store is only 10 minutes is not acceptable. After waiting 15 minutes I called the store and they said the driver was almost there. 15 minutes later no driver in sight but he did call to say he was 20 minutes away. This is absolutely not how you run a business. I have ordered from here many times but I am hesitant to order from here again. Very disappointed.

**update Papa johns contacted me and offered me a pizza. Which I wouldn’t want as per below won’t use again terrible service. Last 2 I’ve ordered have always been late by at least 2 hours. ring the store to be told it’s on the way to wait even longer if you’re lucky when and if. it turns up it’s half warm. Don’t bother use a smaller takeaway. Much better all round.

Whomever was working the front counter today(taller Indian male), 4 sep 22, attempted to give me the wrong order then lied about it until he was caught. I ordered a berry ice cream and when I arrived he placed a cookie dough in a bag and handed it to me, as I was leaving I checked the bad and noticed it was wrong. No big deal, I walked back and asked him for the correct flavor. He decided to tell me I ordered the wrong flavor, I then asked him to look it up (he refused) so I showed him my online order. He then stated well that’s the only flavor they have so I should take it. I requested a refund instead and he stated he could not do it since it was an online order. He told me to call customer service instead if I didn’t want it. I told him call the manager and he didn’t want to do that so asked me if there was anything else I wanted instead. I asked what other flavors of ice cream are there and he said 2. I then asked why did he lie and say this was the only flavor? He had no answer so I took some cookies and left as I was over talking to the guy at this point. Moral of the story is check you food before you leave from this store and good luck getting a refund if they get it wrong.

Was unsure about ordering after reading the reviews, but i am very happy with my order. I placed my order on the phone and the lady i spoke to was very nice and helpful. The pizzas came on time and were really nice.

What an absolute joke! We waited 2 hours on a Thursday lunch before calling and they said it would another 30 minutes. An hour after this I called and they said its minutes away. I said I wasn't happy and they said i could have free pizza next time. I said I wouldn't be ordering from there ever again and could I have a refund to which he replied no. I said it wasn't good enough and he said he would get a manger to call.

Edit to add: I replied to their response below as requested and never heard anything back from them. Nor did I ever receive my refund. So again.. they will take your money and not deliver your order and their corporate office is a joke and can’t be bothered to follow up. DON’T WASTE YOU’RE MONEY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Horrible service, shady practices. Called the restaurant when my food was not delivered after 30+ minutes. Even though it said it was. Was told by the person on the phone that “we only have 2 delivery drivers. Can you just come collect it? We’ll give you a free..” and never said what. Not that I care because if I wanted anything else additional to my order I would ordered it and no? I PAID A DELIVERY FEE to have my food delivered because I CAN’T come collect it. I also don’t want to collect food that’s just been SITTING THERE for over 30 minutes and is going to be disgusting by the time I get it home and eat it. If the manager is aware there are only 2 deliver drivers and they are busy perhaps the manager should have staff members called delivery customers to let them know of the delay; but for obvious reasons they wouldn’t do that. Was given a second option of a refund and told the person that is what I wanted and was told it would be within 3-4 business days. I’m not expecting it to actually be refunded and nothing has appeared in my bank account yet.

Horrible and shady. Ordered food to go never arrived. Called 30 mins after it said it was delivered to be told they only had 2 drivers and “could I just come collect” no? I paid for delivery and I couldn’t leave my house was then told again “Well we only have 2 drivers and my Manager said you’ll need to collect (and after an audible pause) or we could refund you.” Was told I would receive the refund in 3-4 business days, never happened. Wrote a review for Google and was told by Corporate or whoever replied that they would be in touch. No one ever got in touch. So basically.. they took my money LIED the entire way through and their corporate office is just as awful with shady business practices. Don’t waste your time or money. Go somewhere else.
