Pizza tasted as good as any other Papa John's would be, but the order was missing a pizza. The pizza came, but they gave us the wrong one. Food was good, service? not so much.

50 minutes after ordering I called to see where our order was. They said it will be another 40 minutes. Order cancelled. They said they were about to call customers to let them know they had too many orders... Why not do that earlier!?

This use to be my favourite papas thought I'd stop off and get one tonight wow what a disappointment that was, they must be running out of sauce because it was like water, said no ham it was over loaded with barely any pepperoni and sausage/beef on it so wet you pulled a slice and the whole lot fell off the base... And the XXL clearly ain't a XXL anymore the box never use to fit in my oven the box is now the size of a normal large...

The most shocking place ever! Order got dispatched at 815 didn’t get here till 910 food was stone cold! And was missing some of my order called up and said it would be on its way as they can’t refund me! Hour later still waiting! I’ll be calling tomorrow and asking to talk to the manager I’m so angry!

Ordered a pizza at 6pm. No pizza by 7.30pm. Called the store and told they were short of drivers. Food finally arrived 2 hours later and was cold. Won’t be ordering again.

Very shy with the toppings, not near as good as before or in other locations. Super expensive and overrated.

Pizza Delivery! Had to shout out for Pappa Johns in Hadleigh. Ordered a ‘deal’; One Medium Pizza (plenty for 2) which comes with one side and a drink for £17.99. Very good value and delivered piping hot to our door in 25 minutes. Delicious and the best Pizzas around by far!

Honestly one of the best pizza I’ve had, from a year ago they have massively changed in quality so happy to say this will be my go too.

I'm changing a previous review after receiving stellar service tonight and the last few orders have been top notch. Tonight I ordered incorrectly and called to change the crust type. Chap on the phone was so friendly, answered straight away and was really really helpful made it no trouble at all and gave me a goodwill gesture. I hadn’t ordered from papa johns for a while so thought I’d treat myself. I really wished I hadn’t thought. The pizza and garlic bread was burnt, toppings on the pizza charred black on the edges and despite being clearly overlooked was cold. To top it off the drink I also ordered was not what I received but at end of day I needed something to wash the burnt food down.

After an hour and ten mins of waiting for it to arrive on a weds evening. It arrived with a long black hair embedded into the cheese. Gross. Never again. Rubbish service, rude staff over the phone.

If I could rate this no stars, I would. Disgusting dry burnt pizza. This is the 2nd time in a year we have had this and now both times it's cooked badly. Waste of money... Honestly avoid. Go to the other well known pizza places. Don't normally moan but was bad.

Only one manager named ‘Jez/Jes’ and all staff were moving so slowly, brain dead and unbothered. After still waiting 25 minutes in store we finally got our food. NO APOLOGY from Jez/Jes and no complimentary food given even though male customers were given food around us for free. Also not to mention the HYGIENE! Awful! Rubbing faces and continuing to make pizza, meats and other toppings rubbing over all the bases. Was told we would receive our money without any receipt or proof given to us.. i’ll be returning to store if I do not receive this. Jez/Jes and his incompetent team need a thorough investigation after tonight! Absolutely appalling customer service. This was my last straw with this store and I will not be ordering again. I have had a pizza delivered folded in half and slow delivery times in the past. By looking at the other reviews Papa Johns really needs to look into the team who run this store! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Order was £50, arrived 2 hours late! After calling 13 times finally got someone to pick up the phone, they advised 2 minutes away, another 30 minutes later.

Very bad service! Pizza was 2 hours late. They told me they would refund the money back and keep the pizzas. Still they haven’t refunded me the money. On the app they changed to delivered an hour earlier but it wasn’t. All lies! Avoid at all cost!!!!

Ordered for 8.30pm. Was 45mins late despite website blurb - no info passed on. Pizza & garlic bread done to perfection when cooked but was dry & overcooked on delivery. However the bacon cheese potato tots were undercooked and raw. I hope this was a one off but I wont be ordering again.

Dont order from here. I visited this papa john on a couple disappointing occasions. Once a male staff dropped a spatula on the floor and I watched him proceed to pick it up from the floor and place it back on the counter. The other time he forgot to put feta cheese on my Greek pizza. How can you forget the feta cheese on a Greek pizza? It’s no longer a Greek pizza. They did nothing to compensate me and staff told me to take the pizza. Awful pizza as well, so dry.

Wrong order, couldn’t add the correct dips I requested. Said food would be 5mins when I said the order was wrong, which probably meant they knew it was wrong in the first place. Feels like it’s run like a kebab shop rather than a papa johns.

Disgusting service! Got home from a long days work and decided to order a pizza to then not get my pizza delivered for 2 hours - when we called, the man was really rude to us on the phone and cut us off to then we called again and he burped down the phone and cut off the second time! Not worth it. Missing item took 2 hours and 2 phone calls to arrive. When it did arrive it was the wrong item. Called to complain and nobody cared nore did they offer to do anything to help.

Our order was £80. One of the 6 pizzas was not delivered. We rang to advise of the missing pizza and they sent the wrong pizza. 2 hours after original order still no sign of it. A refusal to refund just a paltry discount for next order. As this is the worst of several errors we will now be using Dominos

Terrible experience. I ordered online and 40min after I received an email saying "there has been an issue with your order". I called the store and asked what was the issue, and the manager causally said " our system is not working so you won't have your food". She said my refund wpuld take 5 days!! I ordered my food at 6:30pm and was waiting until 7:10 for them to accept the order so I rung them up to find out the systems down and that the money had already left my bank, I explained the situation to have the employee give me attitude and grief, I told them they’ve lost another customer and that they should be ashamed of themselves and get better staff

Ordered from here previously and had to wait nearly 2 hours for food thought it was a one off, but clearly not gave it another go tonight and another hour and 45 minute wait! They seem to be very disorganised with getting orders out and wait for people to phone up and complain before they get the orders out. As much as I prefer the pizzas from Papa Johns I will be sticking to Pizza hut from now on.

I do not want to even give it one star as I never received my food even though I paid and the tracking claimed it was delivered. I called the shop over and over that evening and nobody picked up. I then called over and over the next day. I finally got through to somebody who told me that they couldn’t find my flat. My flat is on the same road as the shop !!! It isn’t hard to find !!! He said he called me- he didn’t. He didn’t apologise once snd refused to give me a refund. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. My other half then spoke to him and managed to get him to agree to send a new order at 7.30. 7.40 and the meal didn’t arrive again. We called and he said we will cook it now and get it out to us. I doubt he will and we will probably go hungry a second on evening. Terrible service and will never order from any pappa johns again.

Took about an hour 20 to arrive on a Monday. Paid over the odds for two pizzas that didn’t even taste great. To top it all off, they didn’t even bring our drink. I called to ask them why it didn’t get delivered and they said they would redeliver. Shocker, it never turned up.

Absolutely lousy service! Ordered online and after over an hour waiting I went to check my order to see it had been cancelled as parts of the order were no longer available? When I rang, eventually someone answered to say they were closing? I rang back as realised payment had been taken and the 'Manager' said they didn't have delivery drivers? What he really meant, was they didn't want to deliver to Canvey. I asked about my payment and was told it would be back into my account within 3-4 days?! I said payment should never have been taken and that I'd be making a formal complaint, his response was 'ok' and he put the phone down. I'm amazed this place is still open with a Manager like that and such poor service, you only have to look at the other reviews to see this isn't an isolated incident.

After 2 hours of waiting, delivery driver phoned me once - which I missed because I was changing my baby. Phoned her back several times - no answer. Phoned the shop was told it would be a couple minutes. Phoned the shop again after 5 minutes, the driver was back at shop, she got on the phone and said she couldn't find the house and wasn't going to deliver again as she was the only driver. So choice was get a refund or collect. They weren't even going to attempt to deliver again. Really helpful with a 6 week old baby! Never ordering from there again. We get takeaways alot and no one has ever had trouble finding our house, except papa johns in hadleigh twice! Extremely bad customer service. Very rude staff. Don't bother wasting your time or money

Ordered the vegan works from this Papa John's, customer service was very rude over the phone to me and when it arrived although said vegan works on the box, the inside was far from it, as someone who is allergic to cheese, this was far from the experience I needed! When I rang up the guy on the phone didn't apologize, he accused me of lying although I have picture proof of the ground beef that is on it, when this version doesn't have it, nor does the cheese melt like this on a plant-based pizza! Absolutely appauled

I ordered a delivery at 5pm At 5.39 my order was showing as out for delivery. I only live 10 minutes from papa John’s benfleet So after waiting I called at 6.14pm to ask where my order was. I was told that the driver had a puncture and my order would be there in 6 minutes. When I queried if it would be cold his reply was that they had re-done the order and it had left already. I waited till 6.35pm but still nothing had arrived. I called papa John’s Benfleet again to be told the driver had left 3 minutes ago. I have young children who were waiting for dinner before bed. At this point I was so upset my husband took over the phone. He was told by someone called ‘Jez’ that this wasn’t good enough and he confirmed the order had left 3 minutes prior even though the same person had told me over 20 minutes before on my initial call that it had left already. The order eventually arrived at 6.50pm and was stone cold and rubbery. Avoid at all Costs

I got a pizza from this papa johns and the the dough was burnt at the bottom in the half of it. And half of the crust was burnt and rock hard.

Just had a delivery driver from here call me a c@#t, she parked over my drive and walked down the road where she could just have easily parked over their own drive i couldn't get off my drive and she called ME a c@#t

I ordered a few times from Papa Johns Hadleigh, the service/delivery times are getting worse. No one answers the phone even at 6pm on a Sunday! over 1.5 hours delivery times is a norm! Get your staff sorted!

Second time I’ve ordered from this store both times theres been no icing on the Cinnamon rolls and this time my garlic sticks wasn’t even cut up was just a garlic circle how the hell do you share that had to rip it which isn’t good don’t advertise stuff if you can’t do the job not impressed with the quality from this store

This store has gone down hill rapidly. Delivery used to be very quick, however we have seen a decline in speed recently. Our last order was out for delivery for 45 minutes and arrived cold. We called the store after 40 minutes of it being on the road to see what was going on and the person on the phone interrupted me talking and just shouted that it would be with us in 4 minutes. Looks like we will have to go back to Pizza Hut

Ordered Bee sting pizza and a side. It was very tasty and good very good quality. Had to call the branch as had question and person who answered the phone was very polite and helpful, same again for delivery person, very polite. Delivery last night. Pizza warm, hardly any toppings on the meat pizzas, all 3 were bland & tasteless, and £49 was disgraceful.

Ordered from Papa Johns and food hadn’t arrived for 2.5Hrs. Called the shop multiple times to be told the food was in the oven, food is out with the driver and would be 10 minutes... 40 minutes later still nothing has arrived. Appreciate demand is high during this time, but flatly lying to your customers is not acceptable.

We ordered via the internet a large papa John's favourite with sausage and pepperoni. It was delicious. Arrived hot and on time. The delivery guy was polite and smart (I hate getting food delivered by scummy looking drivers). The pizza itself was really nice, tasty , crispy , plenty of toppings. The wings were ok but to be honest it's all about the pizza. All in all a good experience , better than most other pizza joints In Benfleet without naming names and we will definitely be ordering again.

Our first ever try of papa John's pizza last night was very positive. We ordered the XXL the works pizza with garlic cheese sticks , chocolate brownie and 4 extra garlic dips as we had been told the garlic sauce here is amazing. And boy it was delicious. First of all the driver that arrived very promptly looked smart and was very polite even letting our child carry the small box making him feel very special. The food was piping hot when it arrived unlike some other pizza delivery places where they come luke warm. The driver explained they have special heated delivery bags which are pre heated in store ensuring a hot pizza on delivery every time. The pizza was delicious and more than enough food for 3 of us and our 3 year old son. Their garlic Dip is absolutely amazing , buttery garlic and just the right consistency. And the chocolate brownie was amazing too. We asked for extra cheese and BBQ sauce which definitely complemented the already delicious pizza , but sometimes other places tend to forget the extra toppings and dips. We will definitely be ordering again from papa John's as we feel it is the best take away pizza experience in Benfleet. All in all, great staff, quick prompt delivery, accurate order, delicious food and although maybe a little pricey, well worth it. We will recommend papa John's to all our friends.

I Used the buy one get one offer on the website. Only 1 pizza was here when I come to collect. I was told to pay for another and it would be refunded online. It's been 2 weeks and now they have sent me a 50% code. Which is the same as what I should have had. That's a kick in the teeth. I will not be using them again. I ordered a number of pizza's for myself and some guests that I had over and one turned up and was the complete incorrect order. We had customised and made it half and half but a plain cheese pizza turned up (note there is about a £5 price difference in these pizza's too). I called them and told the manager the issue and she said that they would make another one up and send it out but it could take up to 30 mins which, to me, seemed silly so she said she would make a note on my account that next time I order I would get a large pizza for free. The next time I was ordering I rang up to get my free pizza put on my order, only to be told by their "manager", Jay Singh, that I was a liar. He was extremely rude on the phone and would not reason with me at all. He even told me that I should not order from there again. I took this further to head office but it seems they are just as incompetent - took me around 3 months to even get a refund for my original order! Would never ever eat from this store again, out of principle!

Felt like a pizza for late lunch on Bank Hol Monday so gave PJs a go for the first time. Couldn't fault it: On calling to order the call was answered quickly by a polite and friendly person and he gave me all the info I needed. The delivery arrived within the 30mins time frame promised. The driver was friendly and efficient. The pizzas were hot, tasty and crispy. £22 for 2 medium pizzas is an acceptable price. Overall, PJs has won us over and it's Domino's loss. Well done!
