Papa Gino's in Barnsley

After ordering food here a couple of weeks ago we cannot keep away the mixed kebab is always spot on and my fussy husband says the burgers are 10/10. The food is always piping hot on delivery and all the food is fresh, the salad is lovely from too. Hard to believe the other reviews!

Pizza was ordered via Barnsley Eats site. 1st the order was marked as delivered but hadn't been recived. A call to the restaurant and was told ' its on the way darling' .The food arrived 20 minutes after the call ... the food was cold. A further call to complain got the response 'it can't be' and an offer of a discount on the next order...explained that no further orders were likely to be made. The person who answered the phone on both occasions was both rude and condesending. Very poor service

I will never order from here again!! Food was 25 minutes late after already waiting for an hour. Ice cream was missing. Chips and Mozarella sticks were freezing. Portion size was ridiculous with the price in mind! Delivery driver dumped the food on my doorstep! I was refunded for the missing items but nothing else. AVOID THIS PLACE! Spend your money elsewhere!

Ordered using the app, at 17.15, recieved confirmation email at 17.39. Money taken from account, 19.15 rang goldthorpe branch to be told my order had been cancelled , email confirming order and delivery clearly stated my email address, my phone number and my residential address, but NOT ONE SINGLE FORM OF COMMUNICATION FROM STORE ? WHY? WILL NEVER USE PAPA GINOS AGAIN, AVOID FOLKS

"Mixed Grill Kebab- Choice of shish kebab, donner kebab and chicken kebab. Served with salad and sauce on naan bread." ..... Well, I guess the NAAN BREAD has grown legs and disappeared somewhere because I couldn't find it....oh wait, I remember I ORDERED garlic bread, so probably they assumed I don't need NAAN BREAD. Not worth the money, first time ordering from this place and you guessed it.. This will be the last.

Received 2 pizzas on delivery both pizza bases burnt and not edible phoned shop and got the cleaner ..phoned the day after and was offered £3.90 off my next order WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN would have expected better customer service stick your burnt food where the sun don't shine

Ordered a burger with bacon and a large kebab the Mayo was spiced extremely watery, burger was greedy and tasted like it had just come out of the microwave the chips was nice but the burger horrendous I cannot believe it!

Me, my partner & my 2 son's ordered from here tonight & it were awful.. I got a Greek salad which consisted of way too much lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, roughly 4 pieces of onion & about 6 small cubes of feta cheese. My partner got a prawn cocktail which were a generous portion but it felt warm so he didn't want to risk eating it.. my 2 son's got a pizza each , 1 had pepperoni & the other were a meat feast.. neither pizzas were cut & they weren't very warm.. the chips were nice. We also ordered nachos which were terrible, they were like eating soggy cardboard. We also had a portion of Garlic mushrooms which had no flavour whatsoever, to say our order cost over £30 it were very poor. Unfortunately we won't be ordering from here ever again

Delivery should have been here for 10:05pm rang at 10:30 and was told “Brampton lane” which doesn’t exist was “closed” so they had to go the long way round! Rang again at 10:50 to be told where I live is a long way out it’s a 10/15 minute drive... . driver finally turned up 10 minutes later with stone cold food and told me they only gave him the food 7 minutes ago and two drivers had accidents! When I rang back was told the boss wasn’t there and was hung up on Was sent away with the food! Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the staff and won’t be ordering from there again

Will never EVER order from Papa Ginos again, paid £6 for 10 pieces of chicken that were undercooked, pink and had bits of blood in.. swimming in oil aswell, that much that it had seeped through the packaging and bag onto the floor 🤢🤢🤢 feel violated! Photos dont do it justice to how bad it actually was.

Ordered 7 desserts do for a treat for the family. Only for all 7 to come frozen an inedible. I now have disappointed kids who were looking forward the there dessert

Awful all round, missing items, cold food, bad management, I can’t stress enough avoid at all costs. Asked to speak to a manager was told no. I wouldn’t normally spend this much time writing a negative review but really STAY AWAY

Ordered pizza at 7.10 was told it would arrive on 1hour both online and by a female member of staff, Called 100 times between 8.15 and 9-20 no answer . When arrived it was cold . When I ordered online I asked to left 2 metre away driver brought to my hand told him to stop 🛑 but didn’t understand anything. Tried calling numerous members of staff response was nothing to do with us as ordered in line ! They were v abusive even said we were harassing them all we wanted was a refund . Emailed and called there app no response . Absolutely terrible service at terrible times poor customer service poor manners and abusing the system whilst people are going through difficult times Absolutely shocked 😮 Don’t use Left pizza on door step female worker send we would be refunded

This is my go to place to order, the food is just perfect, the sauce (garlic mayo) is so different but so nice. Highly recommend to anyone considering. Wouldn't choose any other place.

food was the worst I’ve ever had delivered. the bread for the kebab was like slime on the underneath. also arrived 45 mins late. first and last order for us it was that bad 👎🏻

The pizza arrived earlier but take away is only less than 1 mile away and they not supposed to arrange over 1 hour for delivery! Secondly, the pizza wasn’t sliced and they charged £3 for delivery for order of £17 and less than 1 mile!

Pizza was late and can of Lily which was paid for with the order wasn’t delivered.

30mins late and asks if we have paid or not with no apology? Something is wrong if you don't know how your customers have paid.

We have always ordered from papa ginos for as long as I can remember and never had any issues other than order being slightly wrong on odd occasion. 2 weeks ago we ordered and paid over the phone. The payment was taken twice. It took daily phone calls to the manager to tell us he would sort our refund. On day 9 of us being fobbed off while trying to get our money back I was screamed shouted and swore at and told I had to go in and show him my internet banking. I told him that if he checked his accounts he would see that he was infact up on his monies. He wouldn't accept this. I advised him I would go to the police as this was theft to be greated from the manager with don't threaten me with the police followed by a series of swearing insults. We got our money back finally. Happy to take your money but don't want to part with it when they're wrong. Awful manager with a disgusting vile mouth. Will never use them again.

Ordered a garlic break/ pepperoni pizza, onion rings & chicken popcorn with chips, everything was cold tastes like cardboard. Minimum spend was £20 therefore had to order food we didn't want , delivery driver couldn't find house at all . Never order from here ! I would love a full refund as everything was put in the bin!!

We have just had a take away from papa Ginos, and it was really nice I had chicken kebab real chicken in large chunks, the salad maybe could have been alittle better with less onion but otherwise was really nice. daughter had a hotdog and loved it. tuna and sweetcorn pizza and a mixed kebab calzone. All 4 of us were happy I ordered through just eat had confirmation within 1minute and delivery within 30minutes on a Saturday night. earlier than the message said so no complaints.

An elderly friend of mine was harassed by multiple phone calls, with nobody speaking, from a number which I later found out to represent this PIzza Chain in Barnsley.When I finally managed to speak to someone I was told, very abusively that they were trying to deliver Pizza and needed the door answered NOW ! Stating (and swearing) someone must pay for this. THEY WERE RINGING AN OLD LADY IN WALES ! When informed of this and after being told that the police had been informed the response was F*** You.Read in to that what you will about customer service.

When I first ordered from Papa Gino's about a year ago I found their food absolutely gorgeous for a takeaway and their kebabs are by far one of the best in Barnsley and since then I never order from anywhere else, also the delivery drivers always have a smile on their face and finally I live 2.5 miles away from Papa Gino's and every time I have ordered it has never taken longer than 40 minutes, great takeaway.

Waited 2hrs for food order. When we called we were told it would be 15mins because a driver had been in a car accident. 15mins later we were told that the food was on its way to us and shouldn't be very long. 15mins later still no food and a member of staff shouting aggressively down the phone to my husband who then asked to speak to the manager. She then continued to be extremely rude and hung up on him. I then called and spoke calmly to the manager who was extremely rude back to me and shouted at me down the phone. When I asked her to stop shouting and to stop calling me 'love' her response was 'what more do you want bye' and hung up! How rude. Do not order from here!!!

First time we have ordered with them.Order came before the 40 minuets before they told us.And pizzas where excellent will not go no where else. Delivery driver very pleasant.

If ordering from the main menu it can add up. But, the meal deals present good value for money. food is generally really nice with great pizza's. one of the few good Pizza places in barnsley as most are just a sloppy mess!!. delivery is very expensive and I would order more if this fell in line with other places. Staff are nice when you go in and speak to them.

Ordered pizza, x2 kebabs & chips. Cold chips & PINK undercooked chicken. Left it all. Grease dripping all over. Would not recommend.

When the food came it was cold after waiting 2 hours for it. After call if and she said it would be 5 minutes. So once the food came, we couldn't eat it as it was cold and tasted awful. I rang the shop back and the women on the phone was so patronising and rude. And said that there's nothing they can do about it as it's Saturday night and the shop was busy. What a waste of time and money.

Rude staff, no apology for being late, shouting down the phone when I rang to ask where the food was, told food would be 5 minutes but was another 15. Won't order from here again and I'll tell others not to due to the terrible so - called customer service. I would leave no stars at all if I could.

Amazing food as always! the salad was crisp and fresh and the pizza was hot, they did forget to send me the garlic mayo dip but the quality of the food made the garlic dip forgettable!

Unfortunately not as good tonight, we order regularly and food is nice but tonight it was very disappointing, chips were cold and soggy and calzone was not hot inside and onions weren't cooked..

On my order on line it had my correct address on (49 Neville Avenue) but the driver phoned and said it was no 6 and was looking for my house and even the reciept he gave me said 6 Neville Avenue. They're must have been a mix up in the restaurant. Everything else was OK, I got my food.

Food was cold when delivered. Request for just lettuce and onion on kebab was ignored. Took longer to be delivered than confirmed.

Kebab was dry and just warm so by the time I got half way through it it was cold

Disgusting food and service. 36 weeks ordered a mild korma to be given a spicy curry and was told they are premade. Then I am sent a replacement burger which was greasy and chewy and couldn't eat it. Manager had a disgusting attitude and blamed me for being pregnant and not being able to eat the curry. Will not be ordering again, think they need new management.

Ordered 2 x cheesecake and totally rock solid. Expected fresh for £2.20 a portion. Know pizza is greasy but 1 we got was more or less dripping in it. Fraid wont be ordering again 😕

The pizza topping was all fallen off and slid off into the box. We had 2 pizzas and 1 garlic bread and not one of them was sliced. Not very good to order food and have to slice it my self. And then for the delivery driver not be able to find the house. Even with on the phone instructions. The pizza looked like it had been kicked to the door

Ordenados el domingo 11/09/16. La orden consistía en una 16" especial pizza chef", dip de ajo y cuñas con queso y beicon. La orden llegó en un momento oportuno y estábamos contentos de que recibimos un pan de ajo. Ahora los puntos negativos: ni la pizza o el pan de ajo había sido cortada en rodajas. Una pizza familiar?" unsliced 16 Me pareció extraño, que tremendamente pero no tan extraño como toda la corteza de canela de cata. Los ingredientes/coberturas eran escasos y de los más baratos de calidad, era difícil descifrar que la carne estaba lo que todos sabían de la misma, sabor soso. El pan de ajo era como de cartón duro y aunque parecía pan de ajo, no había toque de sabor de ajo. Lo que en la tierra son estas personas haciendo y cómo puede pasar esto como drivel takaway comida decente? Tampoco fue una noche donde estaba permitido un asistente contador joven para abrir la tienda y sufría de la madre de todas, o la resaca de propietario(s) son totalmente no tenía idea! Nunca, nunca más! Casi 20 libras por el desagüe! En una pérdida completa de cómo es el otro logró buenas críticas, a menos que dieron sus amigos personales para escribir. Evitar COMO LA PESTE.

Chicken Korma was horrible. Delivery fee is very steep at £2.20 as I only live round the corner. Received nothing free even though it says free garlic bread or bottle of pop with orders over £15. Can't fault them on pizzas though.

Dry kebab and naan bread / tortilla wrap. Asked delivery driver to ring doorbell on order, he didn't and was lucky I heard him.

Delicious and 25 minutes before time. Highly recommended 😊😊
