Lovely independent family bakery right on the marina. Lots of varieties of bread in different shapes, flours and methodology. Plus flavoured baked items whether chocolate, fruit or cinnamon and the like. Eggs and coffee available too. Super friendly and a great example of the variety of high quality independent businesses in Torbay if you look beyond the mundane national chains. Chapeau

Fantastic French bakery that uses genuine French flour (without additives) to create authentic artisan bread and cakes. Also have French butter and super local Devon farm eggs (best I have had). Coffee is also superb, using Jamaican beans if I remember correctly.

A true French bakery in Torquay = life is good. We are hooked on their sourdough bread (especially with a touch of rye). Also love their triple chocolate brioche. This is the genuine article - baked on site

A small and very delicious bakery and they have excellent coffee We tried the fruit tart and it was very delicious. The chocolate barweesh was also delicious It is worth a visit. There is a parking lot opposite it overlooking the sea. One can take his food and coffee and sit there for a while. The view is amazing. Glory be to the Creator. Lovely French bakery. The freshly baked rye bread we purchased was eaten within 2 days, we also had a great cup of coffee and a French small sweet bun. Can highly recommend and we will be repeat customers.

The bread is amazing made traditionally by a French man. Bought few different breads from them and it is always yummy. They also sell some cakes, butter and eggs. Highly recommended

Fabulous, fresh organic artisan bread made by a family owned company. Don't be put off by the exterior of the little shop, they've invested a lot of money in the ovens and setting up the kitchen so the outside appearance will have to wait. They open first thing in the morning and close when they sell out - which is usually quite quickly. Alain the owner is from Normandy and missed French bread so he started baking his own and his business grew from there. Pain Au Levain means sourdough, but there is also Ciabatta, Foccacia, Fougasse olive bread, baguettes, brioche, among others plus fresh eggs and French butter. Highly recommended.
