The best cooked fish I've ever had from a chippie. The haddock and cod bites were so soft I had to eat them with a spoon! Superb.

Lovely Irish curry chips and cheese. Although it was slapped together & exploded all over me when I opened it. I guess you could call that value for money

Two cod and one batered chips very good . Two chips is too much . batter crispy fish very hot . Chips were excellent service quick and frendly .small car park so if by car it helps to have two people so can double park. Only one portion of battered to night magic..

Visited today for the first time in a few months, my partner and I had cod&chips and it was amazing. The batter was light crispy,full of flavour and beautifully cooked. The staff were very welcoming and it is spotlessly clean. Thank-you!!! we will definitely be returning more often👍

Went in Tuesday for there delicious battered chips with a curry sauce and plain sausage. My partner had battered fish and chips. I was greeted by a lovely lady with a smile. It was busy at the time but my food was served super fast. Iestyn the owner was very busy at the back but was still happy and his usual polite. Well done young man wouldn't go anywhere else

Apart from the customer service from the lady at the back of the kitchen, the lady serving I thought her service was trendful, it was a zombie expression. The chips were that hard and cold we just threw them away. It was rubbish.

Great food. The fish was bounding with moisture and flavour and the chips were perfectly cooked and salted. The chicken gravy was immense as so was the stuffing. All at a very reasonable price too. Great service by the staff who were very welcoming and friendly. Great fish and chip shop. Will definitely be returning 👍🏻

First visit since this ceased to be Pages...£10 for fish and chips..the fish was OK but literally a very very small portion of dried up chips.....won't visit again

Unfortunatley third time in row, Cod was dry and no flavour, and batter way too thick and greasy. Curry sauce too salty. Wont be back sorry.

£10 for fish and chips? Came down from Blaenavon for food but for that price I turned right back around. I have tried the food before and it is okay so it's not a quality issue and staff are decent but £10 without considering a drink or perhaps a pot of curry ect it's a little bit on the high side. Hopefully the prices come down a little bit soon and I can return to try again. I'm sure the chip shop staff can justify their costs somehow but as a customer I can't see £10 for fish and chips being good balue for money. It's great that the chip offers promotions occasionally and I'm sure people capitalise on that but in general if a customer is outside of that promotional scope then things can get expensive quickly, especially for a family meal as an example.

Fabulous chips and quick service. Nowhere else sells chips to the community for just 5p on special days. Truly a community business for the community. 👏👏

Horrible cold food. Chips cold and hard. Tasted stale. Pie was nuked. Felt like it was cooked in a microwave.

We are regulars and normally love the fish and chips from here but last week we both had cod and chips and it was very poor, batter was soft and gooey and I have no idea what the fish was but it certainly didn't taste like cod. Both of us said it was completely tasteless and has put us off from returning.

Thursday 23td August- completed a on line order around 6pm and pick our order up at 6.20 . Since Iestyn took over from Pages would have given 5 Star every time we ordered fish and chips .Tonight the plaice was covered with very thick hard batter and the same with the Hake and the chips was also very soggy and greasy . Sorry Iestyn not nice at all and had to bin . What happened ?

Made the 20 minute journey for the battered chips! Absolutely delicious. Staff very friendly, lots of offers throughout the week. Will definitely return!

Food was okay but I didn't get what I ordered. I ordered via click and collect, which wasn't ready for the time I picked. Got home and realized something they'd forgotten something from my order and when I sat down to eat they'd given us the wrong pies. A large chips was quite small in comparison to other local chippies. Staff were friendly however.

Went on Wednesday July 26th 2023, at lunchtime. The young lady who served me was very polite and friendly. Ordered cod and chips. And sausage in batter and chips. This came with a free pot of curry sauce. And some other freebies which I was grateful for. Thank you very much 😊. It was all cooked to perfection. The gentleman who was cooking was very polite and friendly too. Great food . Great service. Would highly recommend 👌. Cheers guys will definitely come back 😄.

Visited Iestyn’s yesterday as my little boy wanted to try the battered chips, he was not disappointed. They were absolutely delicious, he ate the lot and wanted more, you must try peeps !!! I am new to the area and the twice I have been in there I have found the service very friendly and the food delicious. Thank you guys we will be back x

Used to be the best in Gwent now the chips are greasy dripping in fat and the fish is a joke, very little fish tons of batter,curry like water,total waste of money.Much improved this week, beautiful fish, lovely chips, Irish curry spot on,5/5.awful again 26/7/23,greasy stoggey luke warm soap tasting chips,cold sausage in batter,Irish curry thin as dish water,no cod available as usual unless prepared to wait long time,this shop should be titled chip shop not fish+chip as never any fish pre prepared like other chippy,s, I won,t ever buy here again,too expensive for it not to be spot on.

We had the battered chips and all I can say is WOW! They are incredible. Not only do they taste insane but they are the perfect ratio of crunchy batter to soft fluffy potato. Highly recommend.

I visited this chip shop on Sunday the service was amazing and the food was fantastic best sausage in batter I've ever had and the fact that their open on a sunday makes it a 10/10 for me i would recommend and i will be back

Called in Thursday night for two fish one chips and curry sauce the fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Fish was beautiful lovely and white and chips were not at all greasy. Excellent. Member of staff that served me was very efficient and pleasant.

Chips were delicious but home made fish cake wasn't for me. Not seasoned enough inside. Would have much preferred a normal chipshop fishcake.

We have used this fish shop 2 or 3 times and on the whole the food has been great. The last time we visited the fish was one of the best we have eaten.

Since this has been iestyns there has been a great improvement. Everything is better. Chips, burgers , fish’s bits and much more all lovely. Every now and again u get a few bity chips but nothing more than every other chippy. Definitely worth s visit

This isn't pages fish bar now its called IESTYNS fish bar. food was awful gone down hill was good greasy batter ,fish was stuck to it and wet had to scrape it off batter .ended up with plate of mush .chips were full of small bits not great.

Awful had place and chips .the battery was greasy fish stuck to it and wasn't tasty at all.chips nit best lots of small bits .This was good grub in summer but gone down hill imp

This was my first visit as a new resident. Please avoid! The chips were mostly black and pale and incredibly greasy. We threw more chips out for black marks than we actually ended up eating. The fish was okay but the ladies serving were looking really fed up and unimpressed! Overall a terrible experience and we had to go back out to get different food. This place looks nice but possibly the worst quality chips I’ve ever had! The good ones didn’t even taste good! It is a shame and I hope for them it improves.

Lovely staff and excellent food this was my review last year and 5 stars then but had to change it. August 2022 what a difference a year makes from 5 starts to 1 star! Ignore when I went in despite staff waiting for food to cook and no one else waiting. No acknowledgement of my presence and left to wait for ages to order despite all staff being free and nothing busy. Such shame. Left and went to pages in cwmbran who were brilliant! So sad.

Dropped into the Fish shop on my travels. Clean Place. Good Friendly Service. I ordered a Small portion. At £1.45 I found this a little dearer than most and I am afraid the portion was smaller than normal considering the price

Bought from here before and the food is usually good, though this time the chips weren't cooked though were slightly golden, my fish had obviously been kept warm for too long so not the quality I was expecting. The scampi was OK though.

Had sausage and chips for the family last night. The protions size was very small. The chips where horrible and no one ate them. The large battered sausage was discussing. The gravy was very poor. The cost of the meal was £25, which I personally thought was very high. I would not recommend or use the shop again.
