Padthai Hot Pot & Grill in Aberdeen City

The food here is very good but it is majorly let down with its service, which is shocking bad. I ordered my starter and main only to be told 20 mins later that they don’t have any ribs. So, I order another starter and she comes out with the wrong order!! I told her I would like a large jug of tap water, and I got a small glass. I told her I would like my starter and main together, but they came separate. It took 40 mins for my starter to come out and I’m so bored waiting for my main, I decided to write this review zzzz.. For the prices they charge (expensive!!), they have to do better.

1st time here, food and service excellent. Waitress did give us red wine instead of white but was just a communication error nothing that would spoil a great meal. Will absolutely be back.

She took our order without writing it down and got it all correct. Garlic chicken wings, veggie spring rolls, tofu veggie green curry with coconut rice and king prawn suke yake vermicelli noodles and veg. I really wanted to try the hotpot as it looked amazing but it was too much food.

Good hot pot but the restaurant seemed short of staff. It took too long for food and soft drink. The waitress did apologize tho. She said normally there are 3 waiting staff daily but not on that day. Not sure why the owner put her through this hard time alone. She ran food and drink alone. That's why everything took too long. I find the price was a bit too high.

Went here for the first time last Monday night and waited inside the restaurant to be seated for around 7 - 10 minutes but no staff were around. I could see them in the kitchen through the window on the door, but they didn't come through. There was only one table occupied and it was pretty dark inside (we wondered if it was actually open or not). We felt a bit silly standing around waiting, so we just left! Can't comment on the food as we didn't get that far. Shame, as I'd been wanting to try here for a while now.

True to original Thai taste. Love their pad Thai, green and red curry. They also make vegetarian and you can ask for without fish and oyster sauce if you have allergy or simply don’t like it. Would defo come again.

I ordered pad thai and it tastes amazing! The proportion of the dish is huge and I have to take some of them away. We also ordered prawn on toast and vegetables spring rolls which are amazingly good! The atmosphere is kinda dark tho. I thought it was closed the moment when I went upstairs but the staff was really friendly to us and even made jokes with us. Good time.

I was a bit sceptical at first but the food was great and at a nice price 16.5 for a starter and a main. The lady was very nice, I would recommend 👌

Surprising find in Aberdeen for hotpot & grill family group meal. Delicious selection of hotpot meats and vegs, noodles, wontons, etc - almost everything you'd find in Thailand. The owner 'Stacy' was very accommodating, as we planned to arrive just at the end of lunch-time service; she arranged for the chef to have an earlier break so that they could be there for our order. All 6 of our party enjoyed this meal very much - nice ambience, good service, great food. Our only niggle was the size & configuration of the tables - the middle seats near the hotpot/grill have little space for their plates and the people at the end of the tables are a little far off from the action. Perhaps round tables would be better? BUT that was a small concern - we all truly enjoyed our meal and it was a reasonable price and great quality (ample selection) and HIGHLY recommended! We will go back!

I went here with my husband for hotpot. It's not something we'd ever done before but the staff were so good at explaining everything and the food tasted great. Can't recommend it enough.

Authentic Thai food and also one and only? Hotpot restaurant here in Aberdeen. Soup noodle dishes are good, especially the wonton roasted pork one. I usually order with prawn on toast. Very good 10/10 would come back again

My first experience at a hotpot and it was amazing! Thanks to my roommates! The menu is extensive, the price is reasonable. You get two types of sauce and a variety of food options to choose from. This is a totally different experience and it was very good.

Fantastic restaurant, friendly staff. If you've wanted to try hot pot this is the place, you should go :) They also told us they do bigger events for graduations etc in their venue room!

I ate here last night and had a fantastic meal. The lady running the place is very nice and friendly. The food was delicious and fresh. I had a decent tempura veg starter and followed it up with a tofu pad Thai. It was absolutely delicious and abundant. I was not expecting such a big portion. All in all it was a great experience with great service, great food and great prices. If you are in town, fancy Thai food then give this place a shot.

Brilliant food, brilliant staff and great experience. First time there and would recommend it highly. Have done Cantonese hot pot and Korean hot pot in the past and this met expectations and more. Will go back again next time I'm in Aberdeen. Thanks to the great staff too:)

Chicken wings just full of bones, imagine a chicken wing and they cut into 3 pieces. Ordered beansprout on the side but hardly any beansprout in it only chunks of veggies. Not worth coming back or even recommend this place after a disagrement for the karaoke that we booked and never get it.

Myself and three other friends recently visited this restaurant midweek. However, I left feeling a little underwhelmed by the whole experience. The service was very mixed and the food wasn't really anything to write home about. To start with, one of my friends was a vegan and much of the menu is not vegan friendly. When I called to book I was assured that they could cater for a vegan diet, we soon realised that this really wasn't the case. Turning to to the service; this was on the whole quite poor. We felt that there was a real language barrier between us and our server, and as a result many things we asked for never actually arrived. One member of the group asked for a cappuccino, this never arrived. We also asked for water for the table, this never arrived and they had to be prompted again. The waitress also struggled to understand basic drinks orders, so we were a bit apprehensive with her taking our food orders. Fortunately, another server arrived to take the order and we felt comfortable that it would be correct. As for the food, none of us went for the hotpot, we tried the stir fry and curry. As mentioned above, the food was nice but it did not blow me away. It was very similar to the type of thing you would get in a Chinese takeaway. Nothing comes with rice or noodles and so this is extra. The vegan member of our party did not really have much of a choice, despite the reassurance from the kitchen that the dishes could be adapted. She ended up with what was essentially a bowl of beansprouts. Despite what would seem like not a very positive review, I would like to give this restaurant a try again. I would specifically like to try the hotpot / grill experience.

Been a customer since the owner was at Aberdeen Market Village. If you are looking for really good authentic Thai food, this is the place to go.

Amazing spot on Union Street. I have been a fan of Pad Thai since they were in the old Aberdeen Market. Their starters and mains have always been super tasty with good portions at a very reasonable price. The staff and owner are always very friendly and the new hotpot addition was equally enjoyable!

Our group asked for a couple of minutes to look through the menu and didn't see the server again for at least another half hour. I asked for a Thai style fried rice with tofu, and a side of chips. The chips came, and then a while later, Thai style fried rice with beef. I explained that I had asked for rice with tofu. The server disappeared for a while to serve other tables, and I had to ask how long it might take to be served. They came back and told me the chef would start cooking it now. I asked them not to bother as it had already been a long wait. When the bill eventually came, I was charged £3.70 instead of the £3.50 price of the chips. No offer to compensate for any of these issues. I was asked if I wanted my receipt though which was nice... I guess? Not sure what was going on here last night, but it was a bit of a shock. Chips were decent though.

Food was brilliant. Lovely atmosphere for an autumn day lunch. Lovely waitress and amazing standards. Pricing was right for what you got and the quality of food was on point. I will definitely be going back and taking friends with me.

Had a fantastic dinner here! I had the beef pad kra pao (my usual go to) and it was absolutely delicious! I had also just been to Thailand and I can say this was every bit as tasty and in fact the beef was better quality here! The food was piping hot and spicy. If you dare, also ask for their crushed chili flakes. Service was very fast and friendly, especially Stacy and Fla were super kind and helpful. I will be back for sure! 100% recommended!

Had an absolutely fantastic meal from the lunch menu the other day. Couldn’t fault the food one bit. Everything was cooked to perfection and so tasty. The service was great, didn’t have to wait long at all and Stacey was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back again, especially to try the hotpot and grill which looks amazing in the photos. Only got one photo of our starters which doesn’t really show the presentation to its best.

Waited over 2 hours for delivery and the food never showed up. Told to take up the issue with Deliveroo. I would never order from here again.

Got nothing good to say about my experience here. Went in for hotpot. We were given a small plate of vegetables (lettuce , carrot ...) A few thin layers of meat and chicken. I think the entire ingredients would cost them less than 8£. Paid around 60£ for the food and 2 glasses of flat coke. wont be going again or at least dont recommend the hotpot at this place.

Delicious authentic Asian food.I had the Pad See Ew with chicken- so good. Service and atmosphere was brilliant.

Tried this restaurant for the first time with the family in its new Union Street home, we tried the Asian hot pot that involves you cooking whatever you order meat, fish, veg and noodles and cook to your desired liking or order from the menu, its great fun for all .

Went for a meal on the recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. A great meal, cooked at the table with a hotpot/grill and with a great selection of meats/veg. Staff are lovely too, all said and done it was a great evening out. Highly recommended, will definitely be back.

Really really nice staff!! So helpful and fast to get our needs met. The thai tea was best I have had in Aberdeen by a mile. Price is very reasonable, and some of the best thai curry I have had! Will def be back 🙏🙏🙏

Last minute decision out for dinner, we’d the a la carte dinner and it was delicious! We’d seafood platter, mum loved the salad, we also had a curry and Singapore noodles, we didn’t select anything too spicy as we’d a 9yrs old with us and he ate everything we ordered! Defo going back to try hotpot & grill next time.

During my stay in Aberdeen I had dinner in this restaurant three times. I have always been very satisfied with the food. The ice tea is also very tasty (no Lipton Nestea). The restaurant staff is very friendly and accommodating.

#40 Wonton Noodle soup, even better than what I had back in home. The veggies are soft, pork and wonton are tender, after adding chilies by my own it just destroys all other noodle places I had in Aberdeen. Fantastic place.

Just been shopping for a few essentials and blinds for bedroom and kitchen, decided to go for lunch had seen this place from the bus and thought we would give it a try. Upstairs is a nice clean and refurbished restaurant with very friendly staff, got sat down at a table instantly as it was not that busy ???? Asked about drinks both decided soft drinks and looking at the lunch menu , a nice selection of Thai and Chinese classics , so my wifes choice honey chilli chicken and me a chicken and cashew nut both served with rice ideal for a light lunch .And only £22 for 2 mains and 2 soft drinks ideal !! Did not have to wait too long ,the food beautiful the right spice and brilliant flavour,people should give it a try. Staff really friendly Will defo be back And try the Noodle soup in the middle of the table looked amazing from the table across Flavour always essential in food and coming from a retired Head Chef of over 40 years need I say more !!!! See you soon 😊
