First time visit here,thank you to the pleasant and friendly staff, ordered jumbo battered sausage, spam fritter, chips, curry sauce, well priced in comparison with other chippys in the area (5 mile’s radius) Everything was cooked fresh and tasted great, I don’t believe some of the previous reviews I’ll be back

Over priced, not because the food quality isn’t nice but the portion sizes are incredibly small. My other half had t return to purchase another portion of chips after buying a large. The woman in front of him was also asking for more chips on each meal as there simply just wasn’t enough, she had to offer to pay for more. Poor show. ‘Support small businesses?’ Yeah I’m all for it but that’s a piss take.

Really small portion of chips which was meant to be a medium. Average food, nothing to write home about.

Superb place to eat Fish cooked to order if not available in the oven and in vegetable oil as well. Staff always very friendly and happy. A definite place to drop in and get your Cod plaice Haddock and Skate when it's available and the price is right.

Fish had sat being kept warm for far too long. Soggy and tasteless. Chips slightly better but as staff too busy watching telly took an age to be cooked up. (Possibly cooked in dripping hence black? ) Mushy peas really runny. Still experiencing the aftertaste the next day.

A good place for Gluten Free fish saves a trip to Oulton ver pleased to have found somewhere local.

Fabulous! Visiting family and told to get F&C lunch for us all at this place only.....what a treat as it's the best fish and chips ever. Beautifully cooked and fresh. Enjoyed it so much we went again the following Friday :) just a shame we were back in Wales this week or we'd have been there again. Thanks to the folks in the shop for all being so friendly, customers and staff alike. Looking forward to our next visit soon.

We had a short wait for our haddock and cod to be fried on a busy Saturday. But the service was great combined with very generous portions of chips and large pieces of fish made for a perfect meal. We'll done.

Absolutely stunning chippy! Popped in when visiting Gorleston for the day. The fish was so fresh, batter light and crispy! Plus SCRAPS!!! and the service was brilliant. Will definitely visit again. Its about a 5 minute walk from the ice cream shop, cafe on the seafront. Trust me it's worth the walk if you want a traditional chippy and none of the frozen nonsense I seen on the seafront.

I had cod and chips and my son had a steak and kidney pie and large chips and a battered sausage. The fish and chips were fried fresh and were the best I have tasted in a very long time. The young lady serving us was nicely generous with the salt and vinegar too. My son said his pie and batterd sausage were very good, especially the sausage, which he normally finds to be quite hard, whereas this one was crispy with a soft sausage inside. We had driven up from Lowestoft to get our chips here because we were going to eat them by the seafront and wanted to be away from the First Light festival. I would happily choose to drive here for my chips again in future. I definitely recommend PJs.

Best chips I have tasted all year

It was a little bit of a wait and I wish I had only ordered 1 chips between the 4 of us but, While waiting staff were friendly and very patient with my 3yr old and when we got our order home it was delicious.

fish was lovely. not enough chips, would hate to see a small, probably only get 5 chips, i got 17 for a medium

Soggy, oily, horrible chips. Fish was dripping in oil. Could not have been any worse if they tried. Not even the seagull ate a chip that was accidentally dropped. I would never go back and avoid.

It's a shame but the one on Northgate street is not as good anymore since the fire had a fish cake and it was off

It's okay, the chips are better than Mr Chip, but the portion sizes are much smaller. The burger's 'salad' was chopped lettuce only. The burgers themselves tasted a bit cheap. My cod was nice just a little small. Chips are great though.

Sadly had some of the worst fish and chips I've ever had tonight. The chips were old and hard, the fish was greasy and the fishcake tasted weird. This cost £8.50 too. Nothing like the one in Yarmouth unfortunately :(

Lovely tasting food and really accomodating. The gentleman who served us gave us a great deal and a generous extra portion for my nephew. 😍

Lovely size portions, delicious fresh cod, chips freshly cooked, minimal waiting time and friendly staff. My first visit here, well worth it, will definitely be back in the future.

Extremely slow service, but delicious fish and chips and all freshly cooked, on balance, worth the wait!
