Wills Plaice Fish and Chips. A Proper Fish and Chip Shop ! at East Runton. Where my family and I had lunch. The Haddock was really fresh, delicious and beautifully cooked and the Chips were superb too. Best I have experienced in a long while. So I rate this place...., highly recommended. Paul H.

Definitely the best fish and chip shop in the area, our order was fresh, hot with generous servings, all the staff were great, friendly and very quick serving. We'll be back again for certain! Stumbled across Will's Plaice while passing through Cromer at dinner time. Treated ourselves to steak pie and a couple of battered sausages and a portion of chips. The food and service was brilliant, the chips are the best we've had in a long time. They cook the chips in beef dripping which was delicious!

This is typically our favourite fish n chips in the Cromer area… not cheap at £15 each but usually amazing. The chips were great as usual, however unfortunately the fish was really dry and chewy, suspected pre-cooked and didn’t seem fresh, not at all good. ☹️ Nowhere near their usual standards… think we’ll be trying elsewhere

Just had one of the best dinners from here.... doesn't disappoint....haddock really big and chips perfect...and only across the road from where we are staying so piping hot....well done the staff for a amazing tea....

Visit almost every week, have never been disappointed, lovely large cod, excellent chips, very tasty battered sausages. Good value and always friendly service.

Having moved to East Runton 6 weeks ago, was chuffed to find a Fish and Chip shop just across the road. After getting around to trying it. Well, empty plates. The food was awesome. Fish clean and fresh, not soaked in oil. Batter crispy and delicious. My partner loved her scampi. Price was exceptionally fair. Great service. Look forward to many many weekend treats from Wills.

Very disappointed, my wife and I visited East Runton for the weekend and decided to have cod and chips, 2 large cod 1 large chips £24.The fish or lack of fish in batter like concrete.was appalling, we recon it had been sitting under the heat lamp for 30 minutes or more.. They open 5pm we went there 5.40pm probably first fish fried. Chips ok but would never recommend to anyone..

Visited last month whilst staying in the area and we had some lovely food. I was looking for a good fish and chip shop and saw that this one was nearby and had good reviews so thought we would give it a go and it did not disappoint! Best fish and chips we all said we have ever had. (The chips do look a bit pale as previous reviewers have mentioned) but they tasted great! We enjoyed it so much we had to go back again for more before leaving our holiday.

Best fish and chips I've ever had! Yes there is a queue and you have to wait but what do you want them to do? Leave it all going soggy in the warmer? I'd rather wait for 10 minutes and have the quality of food that this place makes! Keep it up guys, we will be back whenever we are in the area ❤️

We found Wills Plaice by accident whilst walking along the beach from Cromer. The ‘mini fish’ was pretty big compared to other places we’ve had it and the chips were tasty. We also got a generous portion of crispy bits from the fish which were great. Friendly staff, good position close to the beach and good value. Thank you! 👍

Honestly just a great vibe in there, on top of top notch level food. Would return again and although its on the expensive side for fish and chips, you definitely get what you pay for- 5 star service and food. The line outside says it all really!

Gotta admit, when he handed me the paler than average chips, I was a bit apprehensive that they would be too anaemic for my liking. BUT they were epic. Fluffy, crispy and tasty chips, banging curry sauce and a well cooked moist sausage. Top work. Beats No.1 in Cromer everyday of the week (had one on Sunday and wasn’t massively impressed)

This was the worst all round experience ever, £9.50 fish was dry and old and this was after having to wait over 30 minuet’s for it to be cooked.!!! Well done….. avoid

Lovely Fish and Chips! It gets busy cos it's so good!! Great friendly staff and good service. They also take card/phone payment over £5 which makes life easy!! Cannot fault this plaice!😁Nothing better than sitting outside on a sunny day eating delicious fish n chips!❤️

Awesome. Yes, there's a queue out the door at peak times, but that only reflects how good it is. The quality of my meal was amazing. Could've had a 2nd it was that good (although that's not to say the portion sizes aren't generous). The staff were lovely despite being extremely busy.

Can I just say thank you to Will for my meal tonight. I called before coming on holiday to ask if I could order some Rock Salmon. I have eaten food from here before but Rock hasn’t been available. He not only took my order but cooked it for a pre arranged time and it was perfect. I know this may seem weird to some people but we can’t get it where I live at all. It brought back great memories for me 🫂 Thanks again Will xx

Delicious traditionally cooked fish and chips - would also recommend the squid! Had food from here twice this week (early June). Each time it was ready in under ten minutes, and the staff helpful. Thanks Will and team 👍

Pre-ordered on the recommendation from a bloke who works there, which turned out to be sound advice as they were queuing out the door. Fish was delicious with crispy batter, chips were well cooked and really good and the mushy peas were delicious. Brilliant little place.

Just popped in for fish and chips just after they opened at 5:00 o'clock, very tasty cod and plenty of chips hot and well presented to eat outside on the seating provided outside.

I would have given this place 5 stars had the fish (cod) been more flavoursome. Absolutely huge portions and very friendly staff. Unfortunately due to my piece of fish being absent of ant flavour at all I can't give it more than 3 star

Some of the best fish and chips for miles! In my recent visits the food has been delicious, hot and fresh. The staff are friendly, helpful and always smiling. You can sometimes wait a little while but no longer than any other shop in the area at peak season in my experience. The difference is that the food here is 100% worth a wait.

Walked passed this shop and decided to have a bag of chips to start off our day out, the shop always had a queue outside many a time going passed. The counter of food looked amazing /fresh and temping to have more, but we stuck with the taster of a bag between us. And OMG the chips were spot on, absolutely perfect in every way. Cooking in beef dripping is the best but todays dinners are also turning vegi and vegan which could also be alienating away lots of profit for businesses like yourself, (would be nice if they could also be accommodated in 1 fryier too?) I'm sure it's not always that easy but in a perfect world. So.... After a long day of walking and undecided elsewhere what to eat we could only think of Will's plaice for tea, we queued at the door for opening at 5pm which we predicted people may be waiting (wish they would form a queue rather than plonking their bums down on seats and dictating they were waiting first) so we ended quite a way back! Anyway just about got a seat to eat and the food that was presented looked wonderful /fresh /good size. The chips were again amazing, proper proper yum, they even wrapped some crispy scraps all neatly packaged up :) but yes there is the BUT coming... Sorry but the batter of the fish was fantastic and crisp but it would have been nice to actually have some fish in it, the fillet was paper thin 3mm, so thin I opened up the batter half way through and was not worth the calories to finish it. If I wasn't in a holiday mode I truly would have taken it back into the shop for my money back, I'd certainly go back many more times but only for the chips. Maybe I was just unlucky, maybe my partner was unlucky too?? I have still given a 4 * purely I believe it could be that or 5 * if the fish was a proper nice chunky fillet!! This shop really does have some lovelyness about it, don't let my review put you off try for yourself, you may get better portions than both of us did. Meals like this are not cheap now either but we still try to support local shops when out.

Great fish and chips. The staff were friendly and well organised, with some excellent systems in place to keep everyone healthy. They were very busy, but the service was fast and helpful. Food was hot and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

Large portion of chips for £3.50 Average at best. The large portion was to feed 4 which is what we do with our local chippy, this barely fed two. Average, overpriced, questionable portion sizes. Staff were lovely and friendly though and we might just be spoilt by our own local chippy.

By far the worst fish and chips around. The 2 staff members I saw today were so rude and unprofessional. The man got my order wrong so when I took it back he turned to the woman behind the counter and they actually had a conversation about me, in front of me! The woman I felt was particularly confrontational and rude. Apart from the terrible customer service the staff have, the food is utterly disgusting. We couldn’t even finish it as it was that bad. Chips are soggy and have a funny taste to them. I would never recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I would recommend people to buy frozen chips from Morrisons over going here! And don’t let the queue fool you- people are waiting an exceptionally long time for food- it’s not a long queue because people are travelling for miles!!

Due to reviews and convenience we decided to go here for dinner. After 1 1/4 hour wait for food we were hoping for really tasty food but received average at best. I appreciate that is was busy and that the staff were doing the best that they could though

Average at best. We got taken in by the good reviews, but they all look to be done before peak season. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for average chips. Due to the volume of people the chips were just about cooked (the battered mushrooms managed to be over cooked) Don't be fooled by the long que, this has more to do with its location by camp sites and caravan parks then quality of food. While this might be very good outside of peak season when it's busy it seems the quality tales a hit.

It was our first time to East Runton and the first time to purchase what we think are the best fish and chips we have eaten in many years The taste is superb not greasy in any way , the staff are very polite and cheerful , looking at other reviews about being a little expensive I think you get what you pay for and wills place is TOP quality We will be back to East Runton and defiantly be back to enjoy our fish and chips .

Don't what people are talking about saying food is rubbish! I have been going to this chip shop for years while holidaying in East Runton and I have never had a bad meal served to me! There are queues because they are so popular due to being such good food. Always piping hot food and the best I have ever had. They even cook me a little fish as theirs are so big and I struggle to eat it all. Fantastic food! Fantastic service and the best in England! See you next year Will 👍

IF YOU LIKE BEING RIPPED OFF FOR 1/2 THE AMOUNT OF FOOD COMPARED TO ANY OTHER CHIP SHOP IN AREA THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. £2.30 reg chips (level filled small polystyrene tray), over twice the amount for same price at Cromer (Mary Janes). V Small Fish £4, Mary Janes £4.70 for large (over 2 1/2 times larger). Wafer thin fish cakes here & I mean wafer thin approx 5mm. MUST BE WORST IN COUNTRY REGARDS HOW LITTLE CAN GIVE YOU FOR MAXIMUM PROFIT. BE WARNED!!

Called in for fish and chips, amazing, freshly cooked, even take away has the delightful option of lemon. My dogs loved their sausages too. Will certainly be back on my next visit to Norfolk.

£19 for two fish and chips, well ok if you believe you're getting quality, but in this case unfortunately not. Fish was bland almost no taste, chips were under cooked and all stuck together in a big lump under the very greasy battered fish. Sorry to give this review, maybe they had an off day. The staff were great and very friendly it's just a shame the food didn't match their enthusiasm.

Should of cut my toe nails and fried them up would of looked like the chips they served us and would of been more tasty awful chip shop
