The room is very nice, but extremely noisy, so you're constantly woken up in the middle of the night. The location of the hotel is great, as it's right next to the subway.

Our stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and few negatives. The rooms were definitely worth the money—cosy, modern, and beautifully designed. The bathroom was a highlight, featuring a heated floor that made the experience even more comfortable. One odd inconvenience was that the bathroom was missing a toilet brush, which made things a bit awkward. The facilities were adequate for our stay. However, cleanliness was a major issue. The room was very dirty—the floor was covered in dust, the linens were stained, and we even found hair on the pillows. The air conditioning didn’t work, but the staff provided us with a small, broken heater that surprisingly worked perfectly fine. Another inconvenience is the 100£ pre authorizing that they have as a policy upon the check in which they release upon check out, something that we knew about but still count it as a negative as we were on a budget. On the bright side, the staff was kind and accommodating, and the location was excellent—right next to Earl’s Court and plenty of dining options. Despite the cleanliness issues, we enjoyed our stay overall and would consider returning for the convenience and comfort.

I don't understand why they have such bad reviews. Really great location, you can get everywhere very quickly. Underground around the corner. Rooms are neat and clean, beds are comfortable. Definitely a permanent address.

We had a very nice experience at the Oxford Hotel and do not fully understand the negative reviews. The hotel is spread over three buildings on the same street, which may be a bit unusual, but was not a problem for us. It was noticeable that there was also another hotel in these buildings, which was a bit confusing. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location is ideal – close to Earl's Court tube station, making it easy to explore London. We didn't particularly notice the staff, but we didn't have any negative experiences either. A small improvement would be to provide the rooms with cards or signs that guests can use to indicate whether they want the room cleaned that day. All in all a great stay

Rooms are a bit on the small side, but they are clean. The staff is ok and willing to accommodate any reasonable requests you may have. The biggest downside is that there is no bar or restaurant on the premises.

Don't panic, the Oxford Hotel does exist! It's just under a different name. If you're on the street, enter the hotel called Merit Kensington at no. 16 to reception and they will show you where to go. Our room was tiny but lovely. Half decent hairdryer for a hotel too (as someone with very thick hair). Very comfortable beds, very clean room. Shower products provided. Also you can leave your cases at reception after check out. Staff very helpful. WiFi wasn't that strong sadly, kept disconnecting so was reliant on mobile data. An M&S, Boots, Cafe Nero, Costa and Pret a Manger etc etc all only 1 minute walk away, and most importantly, 2 minute walk to the Tube.

Not sure why it’s rated low, as we had an excellent experience! Hotel is located at a great location on Earl Court, with the District and Piccadilly line. It is a bit confusing with the hotel name as is called a different name and the reception is shared with a number of different hotels on the street. Room is very clean and during our stay we had no issues with sound proofed rooms. The staff were friendly and let us leave our luggage before check in. My one complaint is they weren’t too vigilant in checking we were taking the correct luggage as it is all kept in the hotel foyer so this could be a safety concern. Other than that, we would definitely return!

Too good for the location close to the metro. Strange because there is not the name “Oxford hotel” displayed but rather another one. A deposit is required on arrival, and the team normal. Better have machines for recording. They don't even ask you if everything went well.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, so rude and unprofessional. Hotel is not even called Oxford hotel. The staff are so argumentative and rude. Stay away from this hotel they will make your stay very unpleasant and uncomfortable. Not happy at all. Me and my partner travelled 4 hours to stay here out of all place.

My hotel room was tiny and not much bigger than the bed. It felt very cramped and claustrophobic. The room was stuffy, regardless of whether the air conditioner was on. I could hear noise from the other rooms which are packed closely together. It appears the hotel has been renovated to squeeze as many rooms as possible into a tiny space, presumably to maximise profits, with no regard for the comfort of customers. For the price, you really don’t get much. Finding the hotel is confusing, because nowhere do you find a sign that says “Oxford Hotel”. Apparently this hotel is spread over three buildings. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is great.

I chose this hotel based on its good reviews on Booking, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed upon arrival. First, the hotel’s name was different from the one I had booked, which was confusing. The most disappointing part, however, was the attitude of the receptionist. He was unhelpful and made me feel unwelcome. To make matters worse, our room was on the ground floor with no sunlight, and the door to the small balcony was broken, posing a security risk as it could allow anyone to enter. Thankfully, another gentleman at the reception was kind and helpful, resolving this issue. The only positive aspect was the hotel’s location, which is very close to the tube. Overall, though, I would not recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed five nights in mid September. I highly recommend this hotel. There are elevators (despite weird posts saying otherwise). It is air conditioned (again, despite weird posts saying otherwise). The people were friendly and always staffed at the front desk. It was a very safe environment. Breakfast was excellent and appreciated to be part of our package. The price was very reasonable and the location, being a few steps from Earls Court Underground station was very convenient. The rooms are very modern, recently refurbished and very comfortable. The only odd thing is that there is no signage as "Oxford Hotel". I'm not sure why. The signage on the street is the "Merit Kensington Hotel". I don't understand why Oxford name is absent. Or, why don't they just market themselves as Merit Kensington.

Booking has relatively good reviews of the hotel and that's why I went for it. I was surprised after to read really bad reviews from Google Maps. I was hoping that the truth would be closer to Booking, but unfortunately, the Google Maps rating is more accurate. Never again. My stay was disappointing and not a value for money, with unhelpful staff adding to the frustration. I love the hotel's location because it is conveniently close to the tube, making travel around the city incredibly easy. The proximity to public transport saves a lot of time and makes exploring local attractions stress-free. However, I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay. The noise from outside when opening the windows was unbearable, and the sofa bed was uncomfortable and squeaky, which is especially troublesome for a light sleeper like me. The worst part was the poor communication from the staff – they didn't reply to emails or chats, and the front desk was unhelpful, directing me to email with no response. Additionally, they provided incorrect invoice details and have yet to send the correct one despite their promise. I would not book at this place again and would rather pay extra for a more accommodating and welcoming hotel.

We were very skeptical before we arrived because of the bad reviews, but we can't confirm them. We got a very clean and modern room with a very nice bathroom. Mooi onlangs gerenoveerd hotel.

We are extremely disappointed in this hotel and how they state that you can book the hotel room and can cancel if needed! This is such a big scam! We accidentally booked for a few days on the wrong dates and tried reaching out to cancel the booking and reschedule for another date, not only did they not respond they did not pick up our calls and now we are disputing this with our bank! This is one of the worst hotel experience we have had! We have traveled extensively all over the world and never encountered such a situation! Do not attempt to make any booking at this hotel. They are unresponsive and will leave you hanging, I definitely am not going to stay at this hotel as I believe if there is an issue they will not respond nor take care of the guest. Do yourself a favor and go for another hotel. If the hotel responds back I will update my review.

Had an enjoyable stay at Oxford Hotel Kensington. Quick check-in process (note shares reception with Merit Hotel Kensington at No 16-18). Very nice new modern rooms with excellent bathrooms, very upmarket with nice towels and amenities. Excellent location next to Earls Court underground station. Did have an issue with safe not functioning, which could not be fixed despite efforts of staff. We were on lower ground floor so no views from our window. Otherwise, for the price for Kensington, an excellent and great value hotel!

On arrival there were three men working, I said hello and nothing was said. My partner then said hello and a man who seemed new served him. Not sure if it was because I was female or what but rubbish welcome, this is why I am giving three stars. A nice welcome goes along way. The rooms are cleaned daily which is nice. Good selection of hot drink sachets and a kettle to use. The room was very s but I loved it had everything we needed and it was very modern. We even had a balcony. It has a lovy shower too could not fault the rooms barely heard anyone. Appears there has been a lot of money put into the three hotels becoming one and it has paid off! Bed was very comfy again no complaints. Not sure this hotel caters for mobility issues as all up steps. I will likely stay here in summer. Would recommend only a two minute walk to the train station at earls court, 10 minute walk from south Kensington and 2 minutes from food and shops.

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The location is so great, several types of shops around to suit needs and very safe too. The room we stayed in specifically was really cute as it had a little green backyard. The bed was comfortable and it was cleaned everyday and towels changed too! While they provide shampoo, bar soap, lotion & body wash daily, they don’t provide shower caps. Also, only the first two bottles of water that are complimentary. Furthermore, we could hear people walking above/beside us. Finally, figuring out the AC controls were a chore so we preferred to sleep with the door leading to the balcony/backyard open. It was THAT safe. To add, they also received & kept my asos order for almost two weeks before I arrived or collected my payment. And when I told them I would be arriving two hours before check-in, a room was available for me. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again!
