OX in Poole

Filthy rooms and broken bed - no staff to be found during our stay so emailed after. They agreed to a refund but have never sent it despite phoning and emailing many times over the weeks. Do not stay here!

The best beef massaman I've had in the UK. Melt in the mouth and full of flavour.

What a great spot, good value for money, hotel room was perfect with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast in the morning really hit the spot and the general manager George has excellent customer service! Would definitely recommend

Went to a private party at the Ox 2. Round the back. Fantastic time and the barman was an amazing guy. Highly recommend.

Rooms in very bad state. Our bed was broken, rooms needs good makeover. Servis is 5 stars, very friendly stuff working there

Absolutely fantastic venue! The managers George and Zac were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Service and food are 10/10. Recommending the Ox to everyone we know!

Stayed in the hotel for a week for college. Staff were very approachable, understanding and hard working. The location was ideal as it was close to the train station and college, however, the restaurant and shops around very minimal (not a fault of the hotel). The room was looked after but outdated.

These rooms need to stop taking bookings, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Arrived too late to find an alternative and had a room that was both dirty and tatty. Not cleaned properly (or at all in some areas?) after previous guest. Half used bottles in shower, used bath mat hanging and bathroom bin full. Bed was collapsing and curtains filthy and hanging off in areas. Window couldn’t be opened either. No senior staff to be found and staff that were spoken to seemed to be aware of the problems. Tried to email after stay but was ignored. Couldn’t bring myself to eat there having seen to state of the rooms.

Good food. Terrible service. Two course and two rounds of drinks from 6:15-9:15pm. Table half cleared, drinks forgotten from rounds and then presented with the wrong bill. Others on another table conveyed their disappointment too, as we queued to ask for our bills, as the staff couldn’t be bother to maintain eye contact. Good food and good company, but I’m afraid we won’t be back and we won’t be recommending you to our friend and family or guests.

Booked for two for an evening meal. The service was excellent and the food was incredible! Definitely recommend, looking forward to going back.

Hired out the function room around the back for my 25th bday, which can hold up to 80 people. It’s away from everyone else. Really nice inside and you can play your own music on the sound system. Lovely outside area and amazing service. We had our own bar, with a staff member called Chris, who done amazingly to look after 50+ people. He was quick and efficient, friendly and a good worker. Would definitely recommend hiring this venue out for events.

Birthday lunch. Thai fusion. Good service, good tastey food, with a couple of drinks. Alchol free for me now. Definitely be returning soon.

We paid a lot of money for a room with a toilet that made noise all night. Curtains that let in all the light, which woke us up early after a bad night. When we got up to go to breakfast, no one was there. We had to find someone ourselves, and this took a very long time. The breakfast was okay but a lot was not available. Actually, I thought it was outrageous that we paid so much for this. Compensation for the inconveniences would certainly have been appropriate.

My first visit to this Thai Restaurant. The main course food is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming but the evening was totally let down by the Waiter paying much more attention to his 'friends' at the Bar. The people at the table next to me agreed as I got up to walk to the Till to pay. I didn't have a dessert as my table wasn't cleared and I gave up waiting. Not my usual experience of Thai hospitality.

Nice pub, good atmosphere, decent selection of drinks and the food is tasty as well
