worst experience… food came out before drinks, then had to wait nearly 30 mins for those, still had drinks missing, the app to order is confusing! staff felt rushed and stressed. (Carvery Was Brilliant Tho)

The food was basic. Our starters were served alongside our main because the kitchen was closing at 8pm. My drink was forgotten about (so much for table service) and I had to remind them to bring it out. We were asked to choose a dessert whilst the main and starter was served due to the closure of the kitchen. Final orders were called at 9.30 but hot drinks were not available. This was my first visit here and will be my last.

Food was okay but Mia the waitress was really really lovely, from taking the booking over the phone to make sure we were all having a good time

My husband and myself stayed here for the first time & we absolutely loved it. The food was incredible and Mark the chef was very accommodating & friendly. They had a wide range of cocktails on offer and it was an incredible stay. We were told before arrival about the passing planes but to be honest, this just added to the experience & fun of being in the lodge. We will definitely we back again

Nice little pub. Park is great for kids. Food is nice but we waited an hour for the food to come out. Great scenery, lovely place. Only bad side is the food waiting time.

I was in the area for business and always enjoy a greeneking carvery. The server on the deck (Zeki) was welcoming and we chatted to me like an old friend. The manager, a lady called Sabrina was fantastic and service was quick and friendly. The cauliflower cheese was so good i had to take a picture. It was quite busy at lunch time but carvery stops at 2 so I think it might quieten down mid afternoon.

Service and queue so bad for the bar and then the carvery we walked out without eating so haven’t even rated the food.

I make the trip to Ovetstone Manor from time to time to treat myself to one of the best carverys I have ever had. A choice of three meats, or have all three if you buy the large carvery. Perfect roast potatoes, onion gravy is great, all the food is spot on.

Nice carvery normally, potatoes were hard and dry and the meat was overdone but normally much better

Visited today and what a refreshing change. Greeted by manager Sabrina and served an excellent meal by the cheerful and helpful Zeki. Such a lovely atmosphere from previous visits. Highly recommended 👌

If Greene King employed a couple more people to ease the pressure of the rest of the existing excellent staff - I would have given 5 out of 5

Toilets worse than a truck stop, children's toy machines not working, pool table balls thick with i don't know what, food brought out different times, think the cleaner on holiday by the look of things. Don't think much of the management.

Been coming here for 2 years with my little girl. Sadly I will never go again. Management has changed and service dramatically got worse. The food is largely undercooked or very much overcooked. Booked a 2:30pm slot for carvery on a Sunday for me and my 8 year old. Left an hour later with cold undercooked food that went in the bin. Complained to both management and greene king with zero response. Don’t waste your time or money. Go to a toby or poppy field farm.

A large chain pub/restaurant, food was good once it arrived qué for the carvery was extremely long although this would seem not to be normal from what a couple of customers who were regulars said seemed short of staff and those that were there were mostly new was the impression I got,

Today 17/01/2025 lunch time we decided to go to overstone manor for lunch for hubbys birthday.I must say we were welcomed by the staff we also had a brilliant meal thanks to the chef .It certainly was a great place to be thank you all

Booked for a birthday celebration. If a restaurant has no heating I’d rather they contacted the customer to advise them rather than wait for us to arrive! Had to sit in our coats and hats. They provided 1 small electric heater that didn’t work! Staff overrun with customers and no manager actually managing. Food got cold because it was so cold inside. Had to wait an hour for drinks because they’d left them on the bar as too busy to bring them to the table! 1 star is generous sadly.

I'm sat here right now and I asked 20 minutes ago for the sweet chilli sauce for my battered halloumi and chips that they forgot and my food arrived barely even warm. I told bar staff that i was missing my sauce and that they'd send someone out with it but they haven't. The salad tasted off and the dressing was rank. I've been eating here for several years and I've only had 1 previous bad experience but this is ridiculous. The heating isn't working either and it's freezing cold inside during winter. The portable heaters they have aren't working and the only warm areas are by the bar and kitchen. I have a chronic illness and it's painful when it's too cold, so having to sit inside a pub where I'm in more pain inside than I would be outside is absurd.

We booked a meal New Year’s Day for 7pm for family Never was informed when booking it was closing early We arrived found our table by ourselves App and blue light card wasn’t working we tried to use greene king vouchers was told wasn’t allowed but states on voucher all day every day Food was coming in drive and drabs so carvery orders didn’t eat with us When we finally queued for carvery one member still had cough from getting over Illness at Xmas got too hot near carvery counter and moved away from food while member of family got her food had a coughing fit chef asked staff for water in the end chef went and got water as staff never came round and even asked if customer was ok in any way We was never asked if meal was ok Roast potatoes was very hard and tasted as if been under heater all day I’m really disappointed as this was my favourite place to eat I do think the staff need customer service training

Had a carvery, 3 meats lovely, Will definitely be going again. My friend had the vegetarian option, cheese pie with veg, could of fed 2 people. Amazing

Had the Sunday carvery, we all enjoyed it very much. Plenty of room, no booking needed (although it was at around 7pm we arrived, there were people came in well after us, and the carvery was still going strong) Good food, good atmosphere. We'll be back. Thank you

First time spending Christmas at Overstone, the staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. service was perfect and the waiting times between servings were timmed very well. The food was top quality, veg was not over cooked, meat melted, and the starters and desserts were tasty and well presented.

Went for Christmas dinner. Excellent! All the food was really nice and everything on the carvery was fresh. Friendly staff, efficient service and a pleasant, fun but not too noisy atmosphere. Well worth the money and will be top of the list for future Christmas dinners out. Thanks guys for a great meal.

We were so dissapointed with our Christmas meal. We were sat near a snooker table with players in full swing. The music was far too loud, we could hardly hear each other speak. I have had a Christmas meal at The Overstone Manor before a few years back and it was great. This time there was no paper tablecloth, random knives and forks placed on the sticky table with one serviette. My salmon was brought out to me on a cold plate. When I asked at the carvery for a warm plate he handed me a small plate and I was expected to move the fish onto the plate with my fingers instead of the chef doing it with tongs. The starter looked like it had sat overnight in the kitchen, the crudités were shrivelled as was the 'salad' on the fish starter. In summary, this meal was no different from any mid year meal. We paid a great deal more to actually have less. I have given one star for the service and that would be for the young lad serving us, he was polite and pleasant. The rest of the staff wandered around lack lustre dressed casually. I would not recommend Christmas at The Overstone Manor if you are expecting something nice.

Good location, staff very friendly, especially the gentleman carving the meats. Very reasonably priced & good selection of vegetables.

Went for festive dinner, service horrendous, had to ask for every course and how it worked etc..food was pre ordered and daughter was still given the wrong thing. Puddings with custard were cold as in just come out the fridge cold and when I went to pay and claim the young found it all humerous. This was a family Christmas meal booked at the last minute, everywhere else was fully booked, it was empty here, now we know why. Havnt been a few years here and it used to be such a good place but has seriously gone downhill, maybe it's a Christmas thing who knows but I wont be going there by choice unless it improves.

Went to lunch with sister and husband, we ordered ok,she wanted 2fish and chips, but they had none. She had to reconsider and then join a queue. She asked if all meals would be served together and she was told they wouldn't be to far apart. Ours came ok, they waited and waited and waited. One girl said she would sort it, but didn't.after we had finished our meal.my brother in law, cancelled his order and got his money back. This place was convenient for both of us travelling but we will not be going again. I know it's Christmas and they are busy but this was appalling service.

Menu is a bit dated. No choices really for vegan or vegetarian. Carvery veggies very tasty but need options like other places have . A nut roast or veggie sausages would be a good choice. Cheese & potato pie is the only option. .

I had organised a family xmas meal for 16 of us as we rarely all get together. I chose this place because of the good reviews and recommendation of food. Prior to visiting the communication was extremely poor. I tried calling various times with no answer, left messages which took at least 7-10 days to get back to me. So I was really concerned. On arrival we were sat in a room with others when I was advised we had our own function room! There was no highchair which I asked for prior to our visit and it took 30 mins to turn up. We ordered drinks on the app which took at least 40 mins to arrive. The manager informed us to let her know when we wanted starters bringing out as we had reordered our food for the adults and not the kids. We said we would ordered the kids food and then let her know. 10 minutes after this half of our starters arrived. We said we were not ready for them yet as the kids food had not long been ordered. They brought them anyway. We were given half the starters and 30 mins later given the next set of starters. So half of us were eating at one time and the other half had to wait alongside hungry kids! The chicken strips were inedible so were the brie bites. They were hard and tasted old. The carvery was nice but service was so slow. We waited in the queue for 20-25 minutes just to get served. This meant again people that hadn't ordered carvery were eating without us. What was meant to be a family meal wasn't as we all ate at different times apart from the desert. The drinks service was so slow, we weren't asked if anything was OK with our meals, plates were cleared slowly and overall it was just a disaster. I complained at the end and 2 meals were taken off the bill which we appreciated but it was a disaster from start to end. It ruined a nice family meal and none of us will ever visit again. Also the state of the toilets was appalling and on the toilet check list ot showed they hadn't been checked for days. This place needs a serious overall and management to get it to an acceptable standard. To top it off the playarea was blocked off and not in use which was one of the reasons I booked this place.

Absolutely great place for food and value for money 💰

We visited last Sunday as a family group of over 20 for a birthday celebration. All the adults had a carvery meal and the kids ate from the children’s menu. All the meals were excellent. The elements of the carvery were all perfectly cooked, served hot and there was lots of options available. All the kids finished their meals. Nice range of desserts for kids and adults. Super friendly and helpful staff. Amazing value for money. We come here for large family gatherings a couple of times a year and the venue has never disappointed us.

Called in on a whim on a Friday lunchtime. Beautiful carvery meal. Definitely will make another visit.

Amazing carvery, nice atmosphere and plenty of parking, beer garden is lovely in summer

It's not often I leave reviews whilst at a venue, in fact I have never written a review of somewhere whilst in the queue for our Carvery. However, after the shit show we've seen so far, it has to be done. Had a table booked for 14:30, our names weren't down on the list when we walked in, however after showing the waitress our booking confirmation via email, she did go and make sure a table was ready for us. We were greeted with a sign to say that due to unfortunate circumstances, no main menu food was being served, and it would just be carvery...again not an issue as we planned to have a carvery anyway, but what it does mean is that we have been queueing for 40 mins, and there's still a dozen people in front of us. We've to endure people moaning about the thickness of the gravy, how over cooked the veg is, amongst other moans and groans. I can remember the Overstone from 20 l-25 years ago and it is not the same as it was back then! Doesn't seem to be any leadership around, or management. Everyone looks tired, overworked, and stressed which is not right coming from someone that used to run pubs myself!! Today has been a farcical in every sense. We shall have our lunch and promptly vacate, and will probably not use this venue again!!!

We went yesterday evening and ordered Hunters Chicken. Well presented the chicken was in its own dish sauce lovely. Chips cooked lovely and food hot well done Chef...Staff member lovely who served us .

We came during half term, due to being short staffed, only carvery was being served. The food was nice and service suffered a bit. However, big shout out to Zeki doing his VERY best to keep everyone happy. Working hard with a smile on his face. Making time to come and speak to my small children. He really make our experience enjoyable. Zeki is an asset to you team!

After an awesome ENLROC quiz night and the bar being understaffed, both the kitchen staff and front of house pulled it off. Cracking bar, highly recommend popping in for a swift one, bar staff are always friendly.

Editing this review due to recent events: The last two times we visited since July were awful. On the first occasion, we were forgotten again for an hour while everyone else was served, even people who came in after us. We asked several times and were told they were understaffed. Then we didn't receive some of the order, and we had ten minutes to eat it before we had to leave as it was near closing. The second time, we arrived at our reservation to be told, they had no carvery food left and no chef? We left and luckily managed to book somewhere else as it was a celebration. The food is good when it arrives. Very understaffed. The food is usually late, the staff are doing their best but we had to wait an hour for our food the last time we went. We've been on various days and evenings, and it's always the same. They are still friendly and professional, and the place was very clean. Highly recommended, but be aware of delays due to lack of staff.

I can not recommend this place enough. Good value and a very good carvery. You can buy food off the menu but the carvery is what we always go for with family and friends.

The staff at the bar were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. However, the queue for the carvery was ridiculous. One person was working on the carvery, and he stopped every few minutes to check on all the vegetables and sauces. At one point, he even disappeared to take a pile of roast potatoes to a table! Very thoughtful, but surely someone else could have taken them. We queued for about 45 minutes to get our carvery. When we left, the queue was even longer. People were leaving as they didn't want to wait. The other people at our table that were bot having carvery also waited the same amount of time. Even though the food was very tasty, I wouldn't go there again, sadly.

Took an 1 hour to get dinner. Then the chicken was so tough it offered me outside twice. Also ordered a carvery bap was just a dried up turkey roll. Would not recommend unless you have a few hours to spare for dinner

Haven’t been here for a while for a carvery and was pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious and had flavour! Was hot and the chef serving was very polite and friendly, super impressed! Only thing we sat near the kitchen door and slamming noise was quite irritating but can easily sit somewhere else. Just a tip if noises can irritate you. Will definitely be returning!

Abit slow to get your food but the food is lovely and the manor itself is a nice place. The staff are really nice and friendly, and there’s even a kids play area there’s also an outdoor seating area but we was unable to visit this on this occasion as the uk weather let it down

We waited over an hour for our food and when we got it the peas were like bullet's and the food was nearly cold, there wasn't a member of staff in site to complain to

Was First time here, wasn't that busy had booked a table but told to sit anywhere, they seemed to be a bit pushed for staff at the carvery, the meat cutter was in n out of the kitchen every 5 minutes filling veg up, the beef was very tough ,was the end bit, couldn't chew it but the rest was bloody lovely n tasty, definitely be back again 😉

Good carvery and drink selection with a lovely big outside area!

We didn't get there until Sunday evening and a couple of food items had run out because the afternoon had been very busy. However the staff went out their way to help. Great service by the guy on the carvery. Pet friendly. Great space outdoors for children. Big and spacious inside and an extensive outdoor area. Good value for money.

We recently made a last-minute booking for a group of 15 people at Overstone Manor - Pub & Carvery, and it turned out to be an excellent choice! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, ensuring our large group was comfortably seated. The food was absolutely fantastic. The carvery offered a great selection of meats, all cooked to perfection, and the variety of sides and vegetables was impressive. Everyone in our group found something they loved, and the portions were generous. The desserts were also a hit, with a range of delicious options to choose from. Service was top-notch throughout our visit. Despite the short notice and the size of our group, the staff managed everything smoothly and efficiently. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their warm hospitality made our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Overstone Manor exceeded our expectations. It’s a wonderful place for a meal with family or friends, and we highly recommend it for both the quality of the food and the excellent service. We’ll definitely be returning!

Sadly, they were short on staff today, so limited menu (carvery only), but that suited us as they were still able to catered for the GF in our group. Staff were running round like ..... but still wanted to make sure everything was good. And I think the empty plates speak for themselves.

Excellent carvery that never lets us down! The food is great and the chefs on the counter are generous. Unfortunately the drinks service can be slightly hit and miss but overall, it's a great affordable alternative to cooking your own roast!

Lovely big pub but let down badly by shortage of staff,ordered meal at 18.15 and was told there was a 45 min wait which we were ok with that at 19.30 I went in and asked how much longer the food would be and was told they were plating it up another 15 mins went by and still no food again enquired as to whereabouts our food was and was told they are bringing it out now ( no appearance)my wife again went in and complained and the bar server said she would bring it out herself this took another 5 mins when food arrived the fish was overcooked and tasteless it was hot though,this used to be a brilliant place to eat but like a lot of places the standard has fell well below expectations which is a pity as it has such a nice setting it will be a long time before I try this place again for food. There were 3 of us eating.

IMO the best carvery in Northampton, even beats those that are in the same group. Always plenty of veg on offer and their beef dripping roast potatoes are delicious. I come during the weekday as not too busy and I like the quietness but the staff are always jovial and make for a good atmosphere. I keep telling myself it’s a once a month treat but seems to a weekly thing 😬.

Pubs is good when they have the staff to cater for everyone. Good function rooms at very reasonable prices and a decent menu of food for events.

Nice place in a lovely setting. However, we went for a pre-booked private function for our child's football team. Despite pre-booking and pre-ordering, we arrived to be told they were short staffed due to poor planning by the manager and therfore our food order was going to be late. The venue was very busy with walk-ins that the manager had not foreseen, despite it being the warmest and nicest Friday for weeks. It became VERY apparent that walk-in orders were prioritised, as we arrived for our 7:30pm booking and food did not come until nearly 10pm!!! Our children were amongst the last to receive food. Kudos to the front of house team though, they handled an extremely stressful situation very well, while the manager ramained in the kitchen. Great service team, let down by very poor venue management. Felt very sorry for the poor ladies behind the bar.
