We used to go here all the time when we lived in Croydon, and we still recommend it to people. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is delicious! Try the beef noodles with peanuts - so good!

I have eaten here for the past twenty years & cannot recommended it enough. The tuna is superb as is the sea bass. Tempura, it’s good baby. Dumplings…they very good. Fish always fresh & lean.

We ordered the Japanese cook dishes (not the sushi nor raw fish) which are ok in taste but they seem to be more "Chinese" style disguise in "Japanese" look. I was looking for Japanese food, so it was a let down. Prices are cheaper than those authentic Japanese restaurants. I do not recommend this place if you want Japanese food. Otherwise this restaurant is ok for a quick meal.

For the second time in 16 years we have ordered take away from Osushi, as we are now in tier 4 in Greater London. Usually we go there for a meal about 6-6.30pm before it gets really busy. Small place, simple décor, friendly staff and the food is always tasty, very healthy, fresh, quickly prepared, good portions, and great value for money. However we went to collect from the restaurant as we didn't want to wait for the delivery. We can't wait to come back to 47 South End soon.

Very happy to find out that Osushi is now open again. Had a fantastic meal delivered this evening which was as good as ever. Thoroughly enjoyed the sushi and the main dishes. Highly recommended and so glad that you are open again.

Been coming here for just over two years now. Amazing value for money. Top notch sushi. Ignore the haters it’s delicious sushi!

Every time I walk past this place, it’s empty. In 4 years of walking past it I have seen customers in there maybe 3 times and it was only one table and only 4 people at the 1 table out of those 3 times. I atleast walk past it twice a day and always make an effort of Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays to have a peek. It must be for money laundering because I have seen restaurants in the same area go out of business that are full. Strange.

I have been going here for sushi for years and they have never let me down with their food! Simply amazing.

The decor is basic but the food is to die for. There is something on the menu for everyone and the prices are very reasonable. It’s our go~to place in South Croydon.

This is my family’s all time favourite restaurant - we have been coming here regularly ever since it opened. The food is consistently great and the prices are so reasonable. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone! (I highly recommend the salt and pepper squid - it’s the best you will get anywhere!)

The most amazing sushi you can find in the Croydon area. We have been using them since we move here in February 2019 and been so addicted to sushi we tried various sushi restaurant. SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!!!

I love sushi and this place is one of the best. Plus they deliver to me which is a huge bonus! Try the spicy tuna - it's so good. As is the eel. Just try it, you won't regret it

Me and my partner have been coming here since Nov 2018. On average we visit there once every two weeks. Amazing food and really fresh. We have been to a load of high end expensive sushi restaurants and Osushi is exactly the same quality! Price is very reasonable, we spend £30 on average for two people, alcohol included and often cannot finish the food!

Went here for my daughters birthday. We have eaten on a lot of Japanese restaurants and the food here is as good as the best. A quiet unassuming restaurant but the food is excellent, and you are not paying London prices!!

Please do not judge on the negative reviews. I do wonder if these reviews have eaten Japanese food. Since finding this restaurant, I eat here as much as 4 times a week, when in Croydon which is evey two weeks when in UK. I have brought visiting colleagues here many times, all have been delighted at the food and price.

The place is not one of the best but the sushi was really good and fresh, I paid 20 pounds and I was absolutely happy and full!

Dont eat there. Even my dog wasnt happy about this food. My Mrs said if I ever buy food from there I can move out and dont come back. Avoid at any cost

Shame. A decidedly average restaurant, I was hoping for better. I was in the mood for gyoza and was pleased to see it on the menu but was immediately wary when I realised the menu didn’t specify which meat it contained. A decent quality gyoza always does. And these were indeed a let down.

Have been to many sushi places and this is by far the worst.

I've been coming here a few times a year since this restaurant opened, and have never been disappointed- the food is always tasty, comes to the table lovely and hot, straight from the pan/grill (I tend to go for the cooked dishes rather than the sushi) and the staff are friendly- recommended.

Not a high class restaurant but a nice friendly little place to enjoy some Japanese food that won't break the bank. We didn't have sushi as we are vegetarians but what we had was very nice and the waitress couldn't have been more helpful

They have is the best sushi I´ve tried in Croydon. A wide selection of affordable food including rolls, makis, temakis, etc.

We had a take away sushi which was great. Can't believe we've actually found a really good sushi bar just down the road. Definitely will be going again.

if you want some proper Japanese food and sushi in Croydon then this is the only place that will satisfy your needs. the food is very good, very fresh and served in a very appetising way. family run business and quite friendly albeit extremely welcoming. they seem genuinely pleased when you visit them. all food made to order and swiftly prepared in the rear kitchen.

Read reviews on this restaurant and thought i would try it out. Amazing service and the best sushi in South East London. So cheap too. 2 starters and 2 mains and 4 alcoholic drinks for £35.00. Will definitely be going back.

I've visited and had takeaways from Osushi many times. Yes, the decor looks old, but the higgeldy piggeldy stacks of plates and glasses is more genuine to me than bland matching stuff from a wholesaler.The waitresses are always friendly and polite.The most important thing, however, is the food - the prawn tempura is perfect, and the vegetable tempura, always made with seasonal veggies (so is never the same twice) is beautifully cooked, fresh and tender. The miso soups are delicious (and huge) and the sushi/sashimi varies according to what is in season (so yes, sometimes something won't be available), but is always well presented.Obviously, if you're looking for the fancy end of the market, this isn't going to appeal to you, but if you want genuine Japanese food in a place where they are as friendly to someone in jeans and a t-shirt sitting and waiting for their takeaway as they are to a group in suits, this is the place for you.

We've been to this restaurant about 10 times and have ordered takeaways at least twice that often and never been disappointed. The sushi is great, the teriyaki great, noodles good, gyoza amazing, puddings nice. Staff are pleasant and the only reason we don't go more often is that the menu hasn't changed in years but if it works it works.

I've not actually eaten sushi here but I've had many a bento box! The first time we visited was just before closing and they were kind enough to sit us down and serve us before they shut the doors. We got the fantastically priced bento boxes and have been eating them ever since! My favourite is the salmon teriyaki box and for a quick, tasty meal you can't go wrong!

We've been here many times. It's a casual, friendly place, that serves good fresh sushi, noodle dishes, gyoza, tempura etc.

My daughter took me here last week. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. good sized portions which I was impressed with. the fresh fish was lovely and we had no 46 noodles after which tasted absolutely gorgeous. highly recommend if you like sushi.

I've had a couple of great meals here - tasty fresh food and a friendly waitress. No it's not the most complex sophisticated Japanese cuisine around but that's not what I expect from a local restaurant and the prices charged . But it was good - my parents lived in Japan for a number of years and I've eaten Japanese food on many occasions, you can get better quality in central London but you have to pay a lot more for it. Unfortunately the last meal I had wasn't quite up to scratch and the service was poor. I hope this place returns to form.....

Went to Osushi as we read it had some good reviews online. We ordered sushi, vegetable spring rolls, and 2 Dan bowls - one with vegetable tempura and the other with pork. The staff just simply don't care, we were sat at the fish tank which was filthy, when taking our order the female waitress stood at the side of the fish tank so I could not hear or see her when I was ordering. I asked 4 times if the food was suitable for vegetarians and received an 'I don't know and I don't care' attitude in response. It was clear that not only did the waitress not know what the food contained or how it was prepared but that she was very unwilling to find out or help in any way. Every item of food that we ordered came over cooked, dry as a bone and without any form of sauce. It was clear that the food was not prepared fresh but has a days old appearance to it. After asking 3 times if our Dan bowls should be dry rice with cold over cooked meat/ vegetable on top with no sauce as this is not how it is described in the menu we were told yes.Honestly don't go here it will ruin your night. By far worst Japanese I have ever been to and in fact I could cook more authentic Japanese food with my eyes shut. The staff should be ashamed of themselves.

You must give this restaurant a go. The food is simply fresh and delicious. I always get a take away for delivery and the food always arrives hot. The sushi is to die for. So many delicious flavours. For starters, I highly recommend their Squid is salt and chilli....simply mouth watering. And another great dish is their seafood salad...you will never go back to a normal salad after tasting this. Great service too and they even come out onto the street to deliver your takeaway if you go to collect.

This is a small family run restaurant. It serves very authentic Japanese food. Food is different from the usual standard fare served at most Japanese restaurants and all the better for it. The food is delicious - the noodles with moving onion shavings are worth a try. There are plenty of choices available and we take the kids who love it.

Have been here lots of times with the better half and really enjoy it. Always had friendly service and the food has been consistently good. Definitely worth going to if sushi takes your fancy....

Don't go. The place is quite small with just about 10 tables. the sushi itself is nowhere near where it should be. The nigiri contained a microscopic amount of rice and the thinnest slice of fish that you could possibly get. The softshell crab roll we ordered did not have any legs and was only the body, so nothing was sticking out from the end of the roll as it normally does. The deep fried softshell crab we ordered separately was in some weird batter that made it look like a lump of stuff. The beef tataki was chewy and awful. We ordered 2 sashimi choices - tuna and red snapper, but were only brought 2 tuna sashimi instead. I asked why and the waitress said that they didnt have the snapper. Ok, but could you ask first?The place is quite cheap, but totally not worth it.

Rude and idiot staff. Have suddenly decided after about 10 times of delivering to our address that it's too far and they should never have come so far even though we are 8 minutes away. Clearly no one can be bothered and have decided to lie. Awful service, staff have zero customer service skills.

We came here based on the TA app.The sushi was outstanding, also great tempura and nice cold beers. As has been said before, the entourage is so-so but the food is superb. We eat sushi a lot but this one would be our little special favourite if we would live a little bit closer

Worst ever Japanese restaurant I've been to. Salmon is poorly cut, the soup in ramen noodle tastes like water; not to mention the extremely slow service we've experienced and the bad manners of the waitress! I would have given it a zero star if I could.

Okay so you're not there for the decor. In these days of ultra poncy sushi restaurants this place is basic but wow is the food good. Great sushi at a great price. Nice staff and the sashimi deluxe is always a favourite!

This is a great place with a very varied menu. We only had the sushi but there are hot dishes available.The sushi was incredible. Nicely presented and each block came with a good dollop of wasabi and pickled ginger to clear the palate.Really, really worth a visit. We will definitely be back again soon.

I took my sister to Oshushi for the first time last week as we've both been to many different sushi resturants but they were so over priced! After walking past a few times I was a little bit worried about going in. I advice you strongly ignore the outside because the food is out of this world! I had sushi and tempura (ordered way too much!). All in all we had four dishes each and two drinks and it came to £40 which compared to Yo Sushi is very reasonably priced.In case you haven't been to Sushi before and are unsure of the dishes just simply ask the waitress as she is very helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely meal, would definatly go again!

Entered the shop, and waited at the small bar bit for a couple of minutes while the man behind the bar was on his phone ! Didn't even look up (maybe he didn't speak english-but considering he was on his phone i found it vary rude.)Got welcomed by a kind waitress, who seemed to be the only one working out front while he carried on his phone.Tasty food. Very reasonable price. Atmosphere not amazing. Hard to understand what everything is on the menu if you've never been to a sushi place before but its a fact of trying whenever.

Unassuming from the outside, but the food was absolutely delicious. I had the o sushi curry which was sublime. Wait time was rather slow as they were busy and only had 1 staff member waiting, but the food more than made up for it.

I have visited this restaurant and ordered take out from here plenty of times. The sushi is always delicious, particularly the tamago nigiri and futo-maki. Their Bento boxes are also very reasonable and tasty-perfect for lunch. My husband once had the Thai green curry and only one prawn was included so watch out if you are ordering curry.The place has a very cute atmosphere and the staff are lovely.

OK, there is no daisy sushi (that I know of) but the fish here is always fresh and tasty and the cooked food ain't too shabby either. In fac gtthe deep fried ice cream - no really - is fab but I find it difficult to leave enough room at the endOK the decor isn't that fancy but you're not there to eat the walls... The food is scrummyFriendly and knowledgeable staff make this a local gem.

This place is special. It offers the finest quality Japanese food for miles.The Restaurent look from the outside and indeed the inside will put many descerning diners off, but don't let it stop you!The menu has everything you could need if you Love all Japenese food - I won't start listing things but if you love the food you will love this food. Emma the Japanese chef cooks great authentic food every time.All I can say is, don't worry about the ambience try the food it's excellent.

This is still one of my top restaurants in Croydon, having been eating here for more than 13 years. It's down in the restaurant 'quarter' of the town and is a brisk 5m walk south from Coombe Cross.To hell with the decor, it's the food I come for! The best Tempura Shrimp in the visible universe, the finest sashimi and sushi East of the Pecos, and the range and quality of the menu has to be seen and tasted to be believed. As Michael mentioned earlier, the soft shelled crab are to die for.The service is always friendly and efficient, and the prices are unreasonably low.So therefore the mystery about this restaurant still goes unsolved. If the quality and the range of the menu is so good, the service exemplary, and the prices better than fair, how come this place isn't rammed every lunchtime and night?Japanese cuisine is one of the healthiest on the planet, and it is certainly not all about raw fish. There are steaks and curries and cooked seafood in abundance. There are rice dishes, noodle dishes, fabulous soups (meals in themselves, I hasten to add), indeed probably some desserts as well, but by that stage of the meal I rarely have room left. There is part of me that likes the exclusivity of having this little bijou diamond almost completely to myself most times I am there, but there is a greater part of me that can't figure out why this place isn't more frequented.So get adventurous and get to Osushi! Who knows? If it gets really popular, Dean might be able to splash out on some wallpaper!

This place serves excellent Japanese food. The staff are friendly and fortunately we have managed to get a table every time we go. The only downside is that they are closed on sundays. The sushi is well prepared and the noodles and stir fries are tasty. I have recommended this place to Japanese and other friends from SE Asia and the have all been impressed with the quality and variety of food on offer. The decor is basic but this is not an issue when the food is that good.

I must admit I was quite sceptical when a friend and I decided to eat here. But we were both pleasantly surprised!Firstly, the restaurant itself is in need of a bit of TLC. The decor is not the best, but the food however is fantastic. It is very reasonably priced and the portions are generous.We went on a Saturday night at 8.30 and were the only ones in there so there wasn't much atmosphere. But we still cannot understand why as the sushi we had was great. We will definitely be returning.

Amazing food and lovely staff. Let down a bit as the decor is a little unimaginative. Don't let that put you off though as this is very much the hidden gem of South Croydon. Been going for years and always left a very happy and satisfied customer. Definitely worth checking out, get over the decor and try some of the tastiest food on offer. Fantastic sushi and lovely mains too.

I find this place very frustrating. The food is so good for a very reasonable price. However, the general feel and the service can really let the place down.On my last visit it was like a catalogue of errors, from incorrect drinks and food through to nearly an hour wait.When the food did come though it was so tasty that I was very almost turned around. You could easily get worse sushi at twice the price. That is what is so frustrating... sort out the easy stuff Osushi!
