Booked a table 3 weeks in advance, arrived a little early, and was sat in the most cramped corner. When asking if we can move as my mum (who had travelled down 4 hours for the weekend and looking forward to a nice meal), was sat with her back against the corner, at an angle, unable to shift, we were told no, because they're fully booked. At this point, there were 6 tables in my eyesight that weren't in use. One was not even cleaned so clearly was not expecting anyone any time soon for that specific table. When you're happy to spend at least £60 a head, you expect to be eating in comfort and to be greeted with a more friendly manor when asking to be moved to somewhere with breathing space. Really disappointed, while we appreciate they might have been fully booked (for the night, by this point they weren't at capacity), you should be able to sit and eat in a comfortable seat without feeling like an inconvenience when simply requesting a more spacious eating area. Out of principle, we walked out and will not be returning.

Excellent service and lovely atmosphere the only downside was that I was to full to finish my pizza and it was fantastic

Not impressed. Been a few times to Oscars over the years and for a local restaurant in a small village it really disappoints. The customer service is poor they don’t seem to want to keep customers or care about upsetting them. The food for what it is, is really overpriced and just average. Could be a lot better.

Excellent experience from the moment we stepped in the door. Served by friendly staff, the menu was extensive and very fairly priced. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. If I had to pick out something the cutlery, in particular the knives, could have been sharper and more sturdy. Mine felt like it was about to snap as I was sawing through my pizza dough!

Oscars was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean, cosy, and relaxing. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two. We will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Charged £13.50 for a bowl of just plain boiled spaghetti for our autistic child as that's all he would eat.extortionate!

Outstanding food. Gamberoni pasta was unreal, my missus doesn’t love pasta but she couldn’t stop stealing mine! Pizza was delicious and the burrata starter was so good! Staff were friendly and the venue was cosy and relaxed. We went on a Wednesday evening and can imagine it is busy on a weekend. We will definitely be back soon!

We hadn't booked but they fitted us in no problem. Excellent food and wine and the waiting staff were helpful and polite. Excellent meal and service.

Lovely restaurant, very friendly staff. We visited on a Friday night, it was very busy but worth it. Oscars now has a lovely garden area. We were able to park just outside as the parking restrictions finish at 18:30 on the road. Went again last night, lovely service, fantastic food. Would recommend.

Been using Oscars for 10 years but recently things have changed and mainly from a service point of view. Staff are rude and don't acknowledge you . Food is shocking and service is shocking on my last two visits. I won't be returning. Shame after all these years.

Lovely place nice staff. I had the bolognaise with penne pasta wasn’t impressed at all I’ve had better from a supermarket tub of bolognaise. Manager knocked it off the bill as I couldn’t eat it. Will try a pizza if i was ever to return as the garlic bread was nice.

Wow, just wow. What a meal. If you’re in this area you have to come here. Lovely lovely meal. Sorry forgot what we had. Both meals were excellent. Service first class. Starters great and the desert great. Enjoying the read wine too. I can not recommend this place enough. First rate.

Expectations were high but we didn’t get off to a good start - waited 20 minutes to order drinks. Restaurant wasn’t exactly heaving. Not exactly a warm welcome either. Pizza extremely average. Tough. Salty. No real flavour. No one asked whether we were ok. No one offered any more drinks. No one offered dessert. No one said goodbye at the end. A very poor experience overall. We will not be returning.

Haven’t been here for a while but decided to have a takeaway pizza for a change. Very disappointed to be told when we first called there were problems with the tills & to call back in 15 mins, which we did. We were looking to order collection for a specific time only to be advised that we could not order for a specific time as they have to prioritise the restaurant orders. This was to be for 9.00, one hour forward so was not a specifically busy time. Upon walking past the restaurant at about 8.30 surprised to see they were half empty. We called another local pizza company who were only too happy to deliver at a specific time. Oscars appear to have a good reputation in the village but from my experience they are overrated, overpriced & offer a pretty poor customer service.

Super staff Ded my points I forgot to ask for during a post Christmas visit. Food quality and ambience as good as ever Prices have increased more than Some competitors but worth the extra for the experience

Fabulous italian pizza and pasta. The clam pasta was amazing as were the pizzas. Great service and a warm and inviting atmosphere. What a gem of a reataurant.

Oscar’s is always a great night out - the food is fantastic (particularly the Calzones) and the staff are warm. My favourite Italian in Herts.

Good food and service and a nice place to eat, but just a bit pricey for what you get.

We had Oscars recommended to us by the hotel staff, Premier Inn, 7 min walk and was greated and seated promptly, from ordering to the food bring in front of us was about 15 mins, piping hot and it was SO tasty!! All 3 of us enjoyed every mouth full. If we lived closer we would make it a regular stop.

Slightly disappointed in this place, the first real pizza restaurant we’ve visited and wasn’t wowed like I expected having walked past and seen it busy every evening, firstly got the order wrong for my daughter after requesting that mushrooms were not put on the pizza which was the giant share pizza as you can see it came with mushrooms which meant she had to pick them off her half and so she didn’t enjoy the experience and was her birthday. We did get an apology but didn’t see a reduction on the bill for the inconvenience so we didn’t tip as we usually would.

Came here for dinner and we were served by both Annie and Maisie, both were so attentive and lovely and really made the experience! We got the pizza to share which was super generous and delicious, the dough was amazing! The toppings could maybe do with a little bit more love as they seemed to not have seasoning on them but still absolutely delicious!

The service matched the food: both excellent. The pizza and pasta dishes were delicious. The staff were so attentive and thoughtful, and this helped us as we had a tired 14 month old baby with us…. Looking forward to our next visit!

Paid £15 for the worst carbonara I have ever tried they honesty should be ashamed to call themselves an “Italian restaurant” never going back.

It was an evening midweek, but very busy, so there was a good atmosphere. There is a large choice on the menu, but most dishes are huge (something that some people like and others don't).

Very disappointed with the food this evening. Bolognaise was bland and tasteless. Cheesy garlic bread was swimming in oil. Won’t be going back in a hurry

The red velvet cheesecake was delicious and looked great, my pizza was also very nice.

Wonderful meal here, Monday October 16th. Service was attentive & friendly. The goats cheese starter was amazing, (the aroma was sublime!). Starter of calamari was well enjoyed, as was the deep fried mushrooms, which came with a punchy garlic sauce. For mains - Risotto and the sirloin steak were both excellent. I asked for a Gorgonzola sauce with the steak but really no need as the steak was delicious enough without it. Highly recommend this lovely place.

I went for the lunch menu and had a fantastic time. Service was great, wine was great and the pizza was DELICIOUS. Such good value for the lunch menu. Would definitely recommend and return.

Usually one of my favourite take aways, been getting the same thing for the last 2 years. However, the pizza quality has decreased. Definitely not what it used to be.

We normally have a delicious meal at Oscars. I always order the gorgonzola pasta and have enjoyed it each time, however, this time it was terrible. Very different to normal with an awful after taste and the quantity of sauce given was way too much and so rich. I couldn’t eat it at all. Very disappointing.

I used to live in Kings Langley and ate at Oscars occasionally, but often enough. My wife and I knew the late owner, Tony, whose passion for Italian food came out in the dishes prepared. What has happened? I fear he'd be less than happy at what's being served. Specially what I was served a Friday evening just one week ago. A few years back, always the pizzas we light and very tasty. True Italian food. What I had was a bland pizza base, tomato paste base far too much cheese with a load of very salty pepperoni which were too thick, slightly tough and not that tasty (other than being salty). I ate less than a half and left. Not good. What a shame.

The waiter meant well but was very slow and all over the place. Once the food came it went further down hill, my partner was unable to eat her main due to the pasta swimming in a bowl of oil as seen in pictures attached, my carbonara was also very oily. I was particularly frustrated when I could hear the chef saying ‘it isn’t oily’. We won’t be returning to Oscar’s.

Food was lovely and relatively speedy given that it’s all cooked fresh. Portion sizes were terrific too. Contrary to some other reviews, found staff to be helpful and attentive.

Outstanding !!!!!! 3 of us rocked up tonight without a booking and they were full. We said we'd order takeaway then 5 mins later they said they could shoe us in. The 2 ladies that served us were off the scale fantastic. We'd been in 3 other places in the village. One was full. One stated online they served food but when we got there they didn't, and the other was rude. Oscars ticked every possible box. Service was great AND normal. Not generic nonsense. They talked to you like they'd known you for years. Food great. We were there for Harry Potter the day after and will probably never be there again but we'll remember it for a long time. I’m not one to usually leave a review but our experience at this restaurant was so poor I felt it was necessary. We recently moved to the area and had been recommended this restaurant, so decided to take our nieces for a birthday treat after the cinema. We ordered a selection of pasta and pizza, however, as our food arrived, we quickly realised the mistake we had made. Bland, tasteless pasta followed by packet made carbonara and one of the worst pizzas I’ve had. The service was appalling, one meal missed off completely, no offer of Parmesan, salt, pepper or oils. However, they couldn’t do more for the couple sat next to us whilst they continued to ignore us. My husband and I holiday yearly in Sicily and I can honestly, hand on heart say this food was cooked by a chef who has never tasted Italian cuisine.

Great little find for pizza and night out with family. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Really relaxed and beautiful food. Really made our weekend away. The only thing that let it down was the person on the phone telling me we only had the table for about 2 hours from the time we booked it. We were defo not going to be that long, but don't like being told we have to go at a certain time.... Defo recommend though.

First time here for many years. It was very good. The Oscars pizza was excellent. My wife's chicken was also very nice. We will definitely be coming back here. Also we will bring our friends.

Pizza was awful - everything just thrown on like a kid had made it.

Just had a meal at Oscar’s pizza, We waited 15 minutes for our drinks, starters to follow. We then received our mains 45 minutes later. No cutlery, I had risotto with mussels which i order from various different restaurants, the whole dish was full of salt, I waited 20 minutes for someone’s attention to which i explained, I asked for the bill as we waited far to long to re order. My friend had to request the bill to be split so as she went in to request this the lady who we complained to was in the main restaurant foul mouthing us to other customers! I have never felt so uncomfortable and upset, from what was meant to be a special night out was ended in upset!

Extremely salty dish with the risotto and awful staff service not only from the waiters and waitress but also from the manager with passing feedback to the owner in front of a restaurant full of guests Loudly She then justified it was okay to do so Poor service all round no check in on food and forgot about drinks

Good pizzas, not sure about atmosphere as we were on our own most of the time in the front of the restaurant but acoustics not great, so when it gets bust it gets very noisy.

My friend and I went to Oscars Pizza whilst away for the weekend in London. The food was lovely and the portion size was huge. Having not eaten here before, we both ordered a starter and pizza with chips. However when the starter arrived, that was a meal in itself. Then when the pizza arrived, I felt a little overwhelmed at the size of that ! The food was beautiful and the location and atmosphere was the same. The only thing to let the entire experience down was the service. My friend hadn’t finished her starter and the waiter came to take her plate away. When we didn’t eat all the pizza, the waitress looked horrified and asked if we wanted to take it home with us, which of course we didn’t as already stuffed to the rafters and we’re staying in a hotel. We were then felt rushed as we were the only people left in the dining room. Not sure if the restaurant closes at 21:00 or they have another sitting. Overall - great food, just service need’s looking at.

Great calbrese pizza not too spicy, perfect base, accommodated us as walk ins made to feel very welcome Daughter had gluten free pasta dish which was lovely, staff understood gluten free concerns and explained menu well Highly recommended

Starters were nice, really fresh and full of flavour. We had pizza which were cooked perfectly, base was crisp and home made. Would definitely recommend and next time we are in the area

Just walked in there for a simple takeaway pizza...told not possible..apparently they would make pizza if we sat inside but not possible for chef to accommodate a takeaway. Short staffed!! Really?? We called in and not busy at all. Never come here again. Shocking! Maybe not happy to do 20% off advertised as its not worth their while. When phoned , staff not helpful. I would not recommend.

We had a wonderful time here for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the calzone, pizza, lasagne, penne with bolognese, and the children's menu. The service was very good and very respectful of our group.

Took my mother out for dinner. Been many times and always lovely food. Like the ambience and music playing but not too loud as mum could still hear me nice staff always friendly. Enjoyed the food. Had deep fried brie and mushrooms which we share...

Visited with my family for my birthday. We had such a nice welcome from the staff as soon as we walked in. The service was fantastic honestly one of the friendliest places I've visited. Food was delicious, 3 out of the 6 at our table are vegan. Really great vegan menu. Thank you for a great birthday meal. Will definitely return soon!

First meal with close friends since the refurbishment of Oscar’s. The food was fantastic & delicious. Service was as spot on by Annie. The atmosphere was relaxed with easy listening music in the background, the restaurant was warm & comfortable. It was busy with people keep coming through the door. Oscar has created a new vibe with his team & you feel totally at home with such tasty freshly made food. Highly recommended Thank you 🙏 X

Every time I come to Oscars it is aas good as the first time. Food is amazing, service is impeccable and the whole evening is lovely.

Outstanding atmosphere and staff, you’ll come to this genuine Italian restaurant and feel completely comfortable. A homely experience for sure. The food alone is a real testament to the family’s Italian roots, exceptional facility’s available in the restaurant and truly comparable to a five star hotel, utterly clean but still retains the vintage aspect kingslangley offers. A fine dining experience and overall outstanding customer interaction, I cannot recommend this place enough!
