Tried a takeaway Pizza for the first time. Had the Parma, it was delicious, decided to try the same again, was disappointed as within an hour the pizza was completely different, no rocket, just not the same. Phoned to let them know, all we were told was that the chef forgot? Very disappointed with the service.

This place does the most impressive, authentic Italian food and delicious pizzas! We ordered pizzas a few weeks prior to visiting and they were so good we decided to dine in. Unfortunately, for a Saturday night, the only server was the owner and we did have to wait a considerable amount of time to have our order taken and food to the table. We did speak with the owner at the end about why it was just him and he did explain that since Covid it had been hard to know when a day would be busy or not to require extra staff and how hard staff is to find at the minute, however the food and authentic Italian decor to match is definitely worth the visit, but the wait time is something to take into account. Overall a great place for food and well priced.

The pizza was nice, however, £8 for a can of coke and sparking water that lidl sell for 69p is a bit over the top. Give the £6.95 side salad a miss, may as well have a pizza. Thanks but won't use again.

We have been to Da Vinci so many times over the past couple of years. Always excellent food and great prices. I finally tried the fillet steak; I may never order anything else again. It was the best steak I have ever had in a restaurant; and I have been to a lot of restaurants! Pizza, pasta, and other meat / fish dishes are excellent as well. I particularly enjoy the melanzane (aubergine) and lasagna.

Came here today with a friend for a late lunch. Lovely authentic Italian, food was delicious and the owner was so welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be going back and recommend to all to go and try.

We love Italian food and landed there by coincidence. Everything we had (6 mains) was molto bene. It might have a bit of an old look but what matters is on the plate and in the service. We will be going there much more often. Undoubtedly Italy right here close to us.

I have lived in Tring for 30 years and now sat wondering how have I never been here, lovely relaxed family environment, food is great, (especially the seafood pasta) and it just has this old school feel that shouts Italy which is lost in so many new places popping up as everywhere just feels the same. Do yourself a favour and give this place a go, as it is a true unsung gem in the middle of Tring.

The most wonderful, authentic Italian I’ve had in a long while. Was just passing by in Tring and decided to pop in and left with a fully belly and a wonderful experience. The owner was extremely friendly and service was fantastic, food was 10/10

This is by far once of the most authentic and true Italian restaurant run by lovely family. This Pizza taste better than I have eaten locally in Italy. Full of flavour! Definitely recommend to everyone.

Best Pizza I've ever had. We as a family are regulars. The owner who works in shop is lovely, hard working and extremely helpful!

A small family restaurant run by Italians. Rather small and cramped but a great atmosphere and very attentive staff. The menu has a good range and suits a more adult taste. There are a good selection of wines etc. Not a place for a quick bite but mote for a longer lingering experience. The price is on the higher side. Compared to other places I think the atmosphere is great for a large party booking out the restaurant but not so good for couples who may find the noise, closeness of tables and excitement a bit intimidating.

The waitress ignored us when we walked in, didn't show us a table, made mea coffee then forgot to give it to me, the food tasted of school dinners ie salt, she handed me empty bottles of olive oil & balsamic vinegar.My tricolore had tasteless tomatoes, average mozzarella & tiny scraps of avocado. Really crap dish. Overpriced rubbish food. You'd be better off buying a frozen pizza from Tesco's!!No music, no atmosphere. It's like the owner has given up caring & is hasn't bothered training any of his staff at all. Just awful.Cold in there & dirty table.Just an awful experience.Didn't dare see the state of the toilets. Don't set foot there.You will be sorely disappointed.

Da Vinci had been recommended to me and what a recommendation it was!! We love coming to eat here! The food is excellent as well as the drink. The atmosphere is lovely too. We have come here for lunch, dinner and have even held a birthday party here! I would highly recommend coming to Da Vincis!!

The best pizza in Tring and the whole of the UK...

Nice place and good food reasonably priced

Food was very ordinary. The veal, which was on the tough side, came with two baby potatoes, ready made carrots and only one cauliflower floret. How they can call this a serve of vegetables is beyond me. No garlic bread, both the wine and deserts we chose were unavailable. Needless to say how disappointing the whole meal was.

We have visited here before on our annual visits to the area so were disappointed to have to wait nearly an hour for food which was itself quite poor - my veal and bacon was tough and the pasta for the other two in my party was overcooked. must have been an off night ? ( Sat 14 Sept) . I enjoyed the wine

Usually love this place, but have phoned multiple times a day over the past week and no answer.

Sadly haven't been able to eat here yet. Made a trip for dinner there today but sadly found a note on the door saying they are closed until the 30th August 2019 (assuming on holiday). The downside is that this wasn't stated anywhere online or on their website so ended up a wasted trip for us. We will give them another go at some stage but not a good start unfortunately.

A few of our friends recommended this place and we visited for the first time tonight... wow what a lovely evening!! The food was fantastic, home cooked and really authentic - the Carbonara in particular was to die for! It has a real family feel and we were served by a lovely man and his daughter who were both very attentive and extremely helpful - especially when it came to choosing dessert (highly recommended the home made Tiramisu)We will definitely be returning :)

Not been here for a while still as good as it's always been

Spending the weekend with my parents we found this fantastic Italian restaurant off the main highstreet.The welcome was warm, and the food was delicious and the price was good.It's run by a small team, probably one family and they work seamlessly making sure all patrons are never neglected. One tip though, book in advance as you might find disappointment in trying to walk in off the street as the place was full very quickly!! A very good sign.When I next visit we will be going again.

Saturday 7 pm without booking, great for families or groups as well. Pizza and pasta was really good, house wine very tasty and overall good value. Great service as well. Pictures don't do it justice as dodgy camera.

Cracking pizzas. The bases really make them great. Kids had spaghetti carbonara which was spot on. Genuine Italian feel, really like this place. Free car park just 50 yards away.

Responding to the teenager's accusation that "we never go out", we just had a quick pizza and a glass of wine at Da Vinci's. It was very good; excellent pizzas, good service, quiet but not too quiet (for a Monday).Thank you - and we would always recommend Da Vinci's.

Despite its location it a bit of a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting much when we entered by was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food & service. A friendly very welcome & tasty home made Italian food @ decent prices. What more could I want!!

I enjoyed the food. Pasta puttanesca was really good, kids pizzas were very popular. On the whole this is a pretty good Italian and better than the near by chain options.

Excellent food, but poor service

I came here the Thursday before Christmas with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. More than generous portions and really lovely fresh food. I chose to the calamari and prawns and I’m so glad I did, it was utterly delicious but no lemon or sauce. I was so busy chatting I forgot to ask for either. My friends stuck with pasta equally as good.

A delightful family run business in Tring. Cosy and clean. I found the staff to be attentive and friendly and always made time for you even when they were rushed off their feet. We had a great evening and would recommend this restaurant over any food chain in the town.

The two stars is because the bottled Italian beer was good and the food was presented nicely: what a shame about everything else though. Having eaten here on three previous occasions, I thought I knew what to expect from our visit there last night but what a huge let down and how sorry I am for my guest who I introduced to the place for the first time. Service was ridiculously slow, probably due to the owner covering the entire restaurant completely solo. He did have his young daughter with him but she was simply carrying drinks to tables so couldn't not improve speed of service.

Saturday night meal with family. Very busy so service a little slow but not so as you would really notice. Food was very good as was the wine.

This is an amazing Italian our favourite and they also do amazing pizzas to take away. Also the chianti is to die for, local, great value and brilliant service.

We went for a family meal and enjoyed a tricolour salad, margherita pizza and melanzane parmigiana all well made and tasty. Service was good and it’s obviously popular with locals.

Over on holiday from the Netherlands. We' ve been here twice and had great food. Both the specials and from the menu were very good.

Went last night with family for a birthday meal, disappointing food, tasteless and they’d run out of several things.

We are regular visitors to this local family run restaurant which makes you always feel very welcome with excellent well priced food and great value house wine.

Nice atmosphere and lovely food, would go again.

Fantastic food, staff and atmosphere

We adore this place. It offers a great range of starters and main courses at very reasonable prices, including many vegetarian options. Choosing what to have can be tricky owing to the wide range. We love the mushroom starter in particular and despite looking small in a large dish, is usually adequate. The family are attentive genuine people who go out of their way to meet your needs.

What a lovely way to start the weekend bringing my American/Italian boyfriend here.

We eat at Da Vinci on average once a month and have spent Christmas Day there on several occasions! So very friendly and serving the most fantastic food, sometimes the hardest thing is to only select one meal from the choice available! Always check out the Specials board!

We have been he a couple of times recently for lunch. Each time, the food was great and the service really friendly. The food is all freshly cooked and it is great value, being very reasonably priced for the quality. I think this is the best Italian restaurant in Tring and we will certainly be visiting again.

Comida en el Vinci suele ser bastante bueno, pero la última noche disfrutamos de una cena que era excepcional. Desde la junta del pecials' teníamos escalope de cerdo que estaban bien preparados y servidos con abundante, pero no abrumadora, verduras frescas. Mi esposa y yo son clientes habituales y, sin duda, continuar así.

Been here 3 times now in the last 2 months. Service is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. The food has been consistently very good, just wish there was a little bit more. Probably just me being greedy tho.

The title may seem overly dramatic , but it's true. I don't go to a family run restaurant in a small place like Tring expecting to get terrible food- for a place to survive in a smallplace it has to rely on repeat customers, rather than anonymous day trippers who restaurants worldwide don't care about. It started well with friendly staff and two kids serving water and proudly showing me a small brass pestal and mortar. Reasonable price on food and wine. I was here with my mum who was visiting from York and we'd been out walking all day in the beautifully verdant Tring countryside and were looking forward to a day-crowning independent Italian meal, rather than the chain Prezzo up the road.We so wanted to enjoy the meal that it wasn't until the mains that we began to realise the full horror of the rubbish being served to us. Stale bread and black olives from a jar ( it's just authentic!) Frozen spinach as one starter with ( doubtless frozen)prawns in a stewed, reheated tomato sauce in another. For mains, aubergines unrecognisable as such; thin textureless slops with no colour, drowning in a ubiquitous cheesy tomato sludge. Thin slices of soggy veal in a Marsala sauce that took two coatings of salt to coax it into a semblance of organic matter, accompanied by a scrap of overly boiled colly and carrots and potatoes that left a greasy sludge trail on the plate.When we complained, the response was initially friendly and we expected a satisfactory outcome. Instead we were offered two vouchers for a total of £5 off one persons next meal. I said we would not be coming back so the voucher was irrelevant. So we were given £9 off the bill, not satisfactory at all. The only up side was they didn't charge caperto, and it was so bad it provided some humour when we spoke about the depths of its awfulness afterwards. If it's just a place to get very drunk and eat whatever rubbish comes out of the kitchen then fine. But it's the fact that it purports to be a genuine authentic Italian restaurant that gets me. That's why I'm angry on behalf of Italians everywhere who serve up quality food, with pride and don't take the mickey out of their own magnificent tradition of simple, tasty, fresh food served with elegance and eloquence. And as much as I truly hate to say this-tomorrow night we will be going to prezzos. Please don't encourage this sham of an Italian to carry on blithely ignoring it's resposibilitie, by continuing to go. It needs to shape up or just ship out. And because they don't care either way, they should just ship out. What an absolute shame they have come to this.

I've been to Da Vincis with family and friends a few times and it's by far my favourite restaurant. The service is perfect and the people are wonderful. Everyone should try out this restaurant it's amazing.

Great staff average food but does the job

We stumbled into the restaurant by accident as my friend had visited many years before and had had a memorable meal here (previous owners tho). However, we were still treated to a lovely traditional italian lunch by the new owners.We started with whitebait and this was followed by a delicous plate of homemade melt-in-the-mouth gnocchi (garlic/mushroom/cream sauce) and a trad pizza capricciosa - so pleased to not to have an american substitute. Followed by a perfect Tiramisu and coffee.Staff (family) very friendly but restaurant surprisingly empty. Only downside was the red wine - not great.Will be returning with kids to test the pizza kitchen but so nice to still find an authentic italian restaurant serving authentic italian food at reasonable prices.

I tend to come with kids every 2-3 months. It's wonderful. Pizzas are best in tring, we love the melanzani and the calamari. Spaghetti Vongole my fave. V nice service. Fairly priced. Recommend
