Lovely Italian Restaurant in Potton. The food is amazing, so tasty and beautifully cooked. Staff are warm, friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend a visit if you enjoy great food.

What a fab little Italian restaurant! Plenty of choice of authentic dishes, service was great, reasonably priced, would be nice to have some background Italian music for ambience...Will definitely go back!

Very disappointed with our family celebration. We have just moved to the area and had read some good reviews for this place so we are upset about the overall experience. Upon arrival we felt like we had distracted them from their paperwork. We were not made to feel welcome at all. The waiter whilst pleasant showed no interest in us or our experience. The pizza crusts were Ok but the rest of the pizza was pretty much a sloppy wet mess. My wife had carbonara (her favourite) but had to leave pretty much all of it due to it being bland and far too creamy / rich. The bill was just under £160 for our family of 6. In this day and age that’s a lot of money for anybody so to come away feeling disappointed is a real shame. When we had settled the bill we said our goodbyes to the same guy who we first saw when we entered the restaurant. He had zero interest in wishing us a good evening or thanking us for spending £160 in his restaurant. Manners are free! On the way home I started to get severe stomach cramps and as soon as home I had to rush to the bathroom to be violently sick. Not saying it was the food but definitely a coincidence. We love eating out and as a family probably spend £200-£300 a month on dining out. Sadly, we will not be venturing back to O Saccarino.

This is our absolute favorite Italian restaurant for a lovely meal out. The food is always delicious and feels very authentic. The quality of the ingredients shines through in every dish. What's even better is that the prices are very reasonable for the enjoyable dining experience they offer. The staff are always so friendly. We absolutely love O'Sarracino!

Super Italian restaurant. Very well decked out, cosy environment, warm welcome and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and efficient, with prompt service. The meal myself and my sister had was well cooked and very tasty, with lovely fresh ingredients. The menu in truth though, was too large and could comfortably be reduced by thirty percent or so, allowing perhaps for a few daily specials (more fish/seafood, not farmed bass, salmon or sea bream). All in all, it is great to have a genuine Italian restaurant locally. Update. Another excellent meal, with the slices of rare beef with parmesan and rocket (melted) to share, then linguine with prawns and crab, plus pizza with aubergine, sun dried tomatoes, and goats cheese. And a side of fine beans with garlic and mint. Service was exemplary, and each part of our meal was as good as it gets. 😊

I went today to get takeaway and I can say food is absolutely amazing I would actually drive here from Harlow where I live to get food also staff are amazing I ordered pizza garlic bread potatoes and bruschetta wow honestly I had to write this review the place itself is so Italian 🇮🇹 so do not eat pizza anywhere else

Claim when busy they cannot hear you on the phone, ignore the phone when calling back, and short mannered when in person whilst serving table

Had lunch here today with my elderly parents. Smallish lunch Italian sandwich style menu. We ordered soup of the day (butternut squash) which was very nice (and boiling hot). Lasagne (from the specials menu) was disappointing (and just about warmed through). We also had a slice of pizza and a chicken panini. Pizza was bit burnt and apparently tasted a bit salty but the chicken panini seemed ok. The slice of pistachio tart was very nice (according to diner!) 2 x coffees were lovely and a scoop of gelato went down well. Our waiter seemed a little less than perky but there were some lovely friendly people on the till to make up for it. Lunch came to £44. As it was a pretty miserable day in Potton there was plenty of space inside and plenty of parking outside.

I popped by for the first time to sample the food in the cafe. I had the English breakfast - and it is superb value for money and the food was really great. A large plate arrived and it was packed with food - great tasting (especially the eggs). I really recommend having the English breakfast but there are other options that are more Italian in style. Fantastic service as well - many thanks to Marcia and Orlando, and I'll be stopping by very soon for another breakfast! :)

This restaurant used to be good but was a bit disappointing this time. Arrived and instead of welcome, was immediately told ‘ you need to vacate the table by 8pm’ . Exact words!! Need some staff training here! There are politer ways to say this. Did not set the scene for a good evening. Prawns al limone were overcooked and rubbery although the flavour was good. Chicken was ok. Desert was also ok. I don’t think we will return.

There for my birthday we had a very enjoyable evening there as usual.would recommend a visit to anyone wanting good food and an excellent atmosphere.we were a large group 12 bums on seats .my wife and myself don't eat meat and they have always been accommodating 👍

This is a true Italian cozy restaurant that we keep on coming back to! The flavour is there, the ingredients are absolutely amazing! (Personal favourite Italian sausage and meatballs) Very cozy and cute atmosphere, especially with the wooden beams of the roof. Very good service, with friendly and welcoming staff.

This is a great local restaurant, the food is freshly cooked and really good, it is authentic and there is a huge variety of food and drink on the menu. The staff are really nice, polite and welcoming, the service is great and they will help if there is an issue with the order. I don't have a bad word to say about O'Sarracino, great all round 😄

Shared an evening with friends celebrating a birthday. Second time I have been there and was not disappointed.

I haven't had the pleasure of trying this place out yet, but I was just eyeing their menu, and boy, did I stumble upon something curious: The "Linguine allo Scoglio!" comes with a price tag of £21.95. But hold on a second – there's a 50% discount available on Tuesday nights or a lunchtime offer... with a little footnote: ​*"Please note a £7.50 supplement applies if ordered using 50% off on a Tuesday night or the lunchtime offer" Now, let's crunch some numbers... £21.95 - 50% equals £10.97. Add that £7.50 supplement, and voila! You're looking at £18.47, which essentially means the 50% discount on a Tuesday night or during lunchtime is more like a 16% discount. A tasty saving of £3.48 on your linguine, is not too shabby. But seriously, couldn't they just say that or skip putting that dish on the offer? I mean, come on...! I will go try it and let you know about it once the headache is gone... probably not on a Tuesday night.

Amazing pizza!! Finally some proper Italian pizza place close home! The food is amazing! Pizza is incredible and service is also great! Small place so you might want to book before going because it get busy.

On entering even though it was a pre booked table we were told we had to leave by 8. Waitress initially friendly however when a dish was sent back to the kitchen she became very hostile. On a plus food was delicious although won't be heading back there.

Really enjoyed a family dinner here while visiting Potton. It’s a beautiful old converted barn with loads of character. Large menu with many interesting dishes. Food was authentic rustic Italian and generous servings. Loved it!

Food is wow..could not fault any of our dishes we had. No waiting area so if you get there early, you are not going to be able to wait. Great choice of dishes. Food fresh and tasty.

Managed to find me a table (again) at short notice. Fabulous food and snappy service.

Been a few times food is always good and the restaurant is really authentic, the male was spot on with alll requests but the women was less than keen, condiments (parmassan, pepper) brought out when meals nearly finished, run out of lager, but food was good. Was rushed to finish and go home on a bank holiday Sunday. Unfortunately, customer care was not top priority for the waitress keen to get home.

This restaurant is amazing! The food is delicious and has a great menu suited to all tastes. I love seafood and definitely got my fix of massive prawns! The restaurant is lovely and quirky and the team gave a real authentic feel to the evening. My new favourite restaurant 😍

Great and characterful Italian restaurant in an historic half-timbered building. The menu is versatile enough to cater to most tastes and the food is superb. Service friendly, attentive and efficient. As with most Italian restaurants it’s not the cheapest, though not excessive either. It felt like a real occasion to eat here. Simply delightful.

The scallops in a fresh porcini cream sauce were superb and the crab linguine was also extremely tasty, well worth the journey from Hitchin. Parking easy, house wine quaffable and good value for money. A really good off the beaten track find.

Delicious authentic Italian food.

Visited 10th October in evening,wanted somewhere local as daughter just moved into area.We were made very welcome and enjoyed a wonderful meal, especially my seafood linguine.Even better as half price on pasta and pizza.Staff were very friendly and service good, we will be back.

Delicious food, great service, very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. It was by chance that we drove through Potton yesterday evening and O'Sarracino caught our eye for some reason. We decided to go check it out and are so happy that we did so. Ordered Porcini and Pollo Rissoti and a Montanara Pizza. Both equally delicious, fresh and authentic. Recommending it 100% and can't wait to go again and try more dishes.

Had lamb shank really good but felt like something was missing there were no vegetables or anything else with it just in a bowl of gravy young man serving had a bad attitude The restaurant didn’t do proper Italian cuisine I’ll not return

O'Sarracino in Potton is a lovely Italian restaurant. If you are around it and you are hungry pay them a visit. The restaurant has an incredibly cozy atmosphere doubled by a fine Italian decorative style. The food is, from my point of view, top Italian dish, comparable to the one I ate in Italy. Not to mention the lovely staff serving you and going the extra mile to make sure your experience is as good as it can be.

Lovely little Italian with lots of character and amazing food. We had two starters, two mains, two sides and a bottle of wine for £90. Food was delicious. Authentic good quality Italian. Would recommend.

Just the most delicious food and wonderful ambience

Waited 45 minutes to be served then told problems in kitchen asked if we would like complimentary olives but then charged for them had Risotto but not good very little chicken mainly rice and cold Merlot wine corked

Really poor quality. Food was overcooked, the ingredients were not fresh. They served us a fairly small half almost decayed kind of lobster (green inside with bad flavour). Used many sauces to cover the poor execution of the dishes. Really expensive for what was offered. The atmosphere was nice though. The service could have been better.

Italy came to Bedfordshire - wonderful dinner and very grateful for being accommodated at short notice. Had a shared starter and some very tasty pasta for main rounded off with a lovely cheese cake for pudding. Plus a cheeky glass of white to wash it all down. Very friendly staff, super location. Loved the Italian authenticity. This is the best Italian restaurant I've been to in many years. Great food in a lovely restaurant. Reminds me of the old days where these places existed before big chains took over. Even the toilet was Italian. Could have some music added... the kind you find in a restaurant in Italy just too add to the atmosphere although on the 2nd visit it was packed and really great for a Monday night. Had the pollo fungi risotto 1st visit and Seafood Linguinne on the 2nd which was truly enjoyable. House Red was also quality.

Came last night and had the Emiliana Bruschette to start and a carbonara for mains. They unfortunately brought me carbonara with cream, even though I asked without cream. The waitress spotted the mistake and asked if I’d like it remade. But to be honest it was so good anyway I didn’t really mind! All the food was above excellent. The staff were friendly and the service was well paced. You weren’t made to feel rushed or forgotten about. Would highly recommend visiting O’Sarracino! I’ll be sure to come back and try the carbonara without the cream next time for comparison!

Very pleasant mothers day lunch time. 1st visit, will defiantly use again.

Returned to this restaurant last night with my parents and children expecting a lovely evening as was my previous experience. I had reserved a table during the week. On my arrival I was told that no booking had been made. I was taken aback by this and assured the manager Gerry that I had indeed made the booking. He told me that he didn't believe me. His demeanour was rude and confrontational. He begrudgingly allowed us the table of 6 but insisted that he needed our table back by 8pm. This was not the warm welcome I was expecting. I have never encountered such rudeness on entering a restaurant. We all felt very unwelcome and hurried along. Ordinarily, I would have left, but I did not want to upset my family, so we ate our food, which was to its usual high standard. On leaving the restaurant, I approached Gerry to discuss with him how we were greeted, and I also showed him evidence on my phone as to when I made the booking. He said that people often make the mistake of reserving tables at their other restaurant in biggleswade. I told him that I hadn't done that, and here was my proof. He continued to justify his conduct, and even when I explained to him that he came across as rude and confrontational, he refused to apologise or accept that he was wrong. This kind of customer service was shocking and not what I expected. I feel aggrieved as I had always spoken very highly of this restaurant and had frequented it a number of times in the past and recommended it highly to many friends. I have never felt so awkward in a restaurant and will not return. Gerry, get some manners!

What can be said that probably hasn't been said already ? Going here is like finding an old tin box, that doesn't look much from the outside, then opening it to find it's lined with gold and contains priceless gems. I saw this gem develop from an old 'listed' loft into a haven of enjoyment all round and long may it last. Excellent food and service in an authentic unusual historical location. No matter when you go and what you go for you'll not be disappointed. Thank you.

Great food and lovely selections, just getting a little but pricey on the drinks now. The waitress was great just needs a bit off tweaking from the kitchen getting all the dishes out so everyone eats together, definitely worth popping in.

Lovely Italian on the upper floor of a building full of character(which means lots of wooden beams!). Not too full for Sunday lunch. If you like straightforward Italian food cooked well with good servings and a lovely atmosphere l, this is definitely worth a visit. For busier times booking would be a good idea.

Absolutely fantastic, sooo tasty, so fresh and delicious. Recommend the mussels in white wine, cream and chilli….Devine!!! The waitress Gioconda is truly wonderful and has excellent customer service skills, really lovely lady.

we feel privileged to have such an exceptional italian restaurant locally - we have dined here regularly since the opening in 2019 and every meal has been delicious and all our friends and guests agree - the only problem is there are too many favourites to choose from!
