We had a fantastic meal tonight at Orit’s Ethiopian Restaurant. We ordered a sampler menu, with both meat and vegetarian dishes. The food was excellent, the service quick, and they were very responsive to food allergies. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back. A meal for three was around 40 pounds, extremely good value. Bathrooms were very clean as well for those who value such things.

Last week, my friends and I visited a restaurant, but unfortunately, they had run out of many of the dishes we wanted to order. Additionally, we found the presentation of the food to be lacking, and it was not very appetizing. This was our second visit to the restaurant, and we were disappointed once again. We have decided that we won't be returning due to the consistent issues with the service, which always seem to be accompanied by excuses.

I ate at Orit on a slow Sunday evening. I got the vegetarian sampler. The injera was delicious. The veggie dishes were hit-or-miss.... a couple of them were tasty, and three of them came out cold and tasting not so fresh. The dishes were extremely oily... I needed six napkins to get through this meal! Within a half hour of finishing my meal, my stomach started hurting. Within three hours, I had a fever and intense stomach pains that kept me up all night. I was sick for 24 hours in total after eating at Orit. (This was my first meal of the day, so I definitely did not get sick from anything else.) So bummed - I've never gotten food poisoning from vegetarian food before. I'm assuming because it was a slow night they just reheated old food to serve me. Highly recommend that you avoid this place. :(

I love this place! I always go for their vegetarian Teff Injera, and it is delicious. Rich, savoury lentil stews and vegetables with light and fluffy pancakes to scoop them up with. Everything is so good! Wash it down with a bottle of honey wine (don't compare it to mead, it's much tastier), or spiced tea. Service is friendly, and it has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Having tried a couple of Ethiopian restaurants in London, this is absolutely my favourite. I visited during a train strike, even knowing it would take me 2 hours and five buses to get home afterwards. I spent two days salivating in anticipation. I would absolutely recommend this place, and I will definitely be back, again and again. The amount of deliciousness for your money is also some great value.

It was my first experience of eating in such a restaurant, and the food was served in a huge basket, which we shared, using our fingers. There was a mixture of spicy beef, lamb, which you wrapped in the thin dough pancakes. It was a revelation, and good value too. For a Saturday night it was not too busy.

Never tried an Ethiopian before but I came out extremely happy, we ate a lot, nicely, the owner was very friendly and happy to help in selection, we digested perfectly even if the kind of cuisine can be spicy and hot, spent a very reasonable money. We already came back again!!

The food was delicious and the staff was super nice. The mixed platter was a good way to taste different dishes, tho I wouldn’t get that again, because some were definitely better than other. Overall, it was a lovely dinner and will be back. Only thing, I would have loved some more explanations about what I was eating. And I would have loved some more suggestions from the staff, as it was my first time eating Ethiopian. But I’ll be back!! Also, can we appreciate we only spent 12.50 each for a very good dinner? The prizes are so fair, almost too fair!!

I had walked past the restaurant many times before deciding to give it a try. I had been initially put off by its rustic appearance but one evening, a colleague and I decided to go in. Neither of us had experienced Ethiopian cuisine before but our happy evening there means that we will definitely seek out Ethiopian cooking again. We shared a platter for two (we had opted for a more expensive dish but the owner recommend this cheaper one) which contained a variety of curried meats and vegetables all served on authentic flatbread. There was a broad range of flavours and spiciness which made for a very varied and interesting meal. The food is served without cutlery, instead one uses torn off strips of flatbread to eat with. A novel but not unpleasant concept for someone firmly stuck in Western eating traditions. We drank an Ethiopian lager which was light and not too gassy and complemented the food well. The owner explained that the restaurant is named after his daughter. This typifies the close knit nature of the restaurant. The owners charming manner and excellent food means that I highly recommend this restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Wow! First time to Orit with my family. Tried out their delicious beef, lamb, and vegetable dishes. There was plenty of food in the sharing platter to feed the four of us and we enjoyed trying out the different selection of dishes on the injira platter. Beautiful and clean restaurant with traditional Ethiopian designs and ambience. Excellent friendly customer service- they even kindly brought out some extra shiro for my daughter who finished it all and wanted seconds! Washed it all down with some traditional Ethiopian sweet spicy tea. Good prices, excellent quality food, and attentive service. Will be back very soon!

One star is because the attendant lady was kind & friendly. Drinks never showed at our table. Poor quantity, witch shouldn’t have been that bad if quality was present, which it wasn’t. Hard nervy grassy bad part of meat, give us the impression that it was microwaved... (Which you could clearly hear ringing) Don’t recommend.

My daughter and I ate here for dinner. It is traditional Ethiopian food. The meat /veggies/salad are served on a large crepe of sorts made from an Ethiopian grain- flown in daily. The price- the food- the atmosphere were excellent. I would definitely go there again. Rich
