Oriental Village in Blackpool

Came here for ours sons birthday. Amazing food and all very fresh. Staff are great and will bend over backwards to get you what you want. Highly recommend a visit 😊

was informed about this little gem by a friend ,food absolutely fantastic in pleasant surroundings ,at a very reasonable price, with very friendly helpful owner and staff.

No complaints at all. The food was excellent, especially the tofu dishes. Good service and a pleasant place to enjoy a meal.

We intended visiting this Chinese restaurant when in Blackpool, but never got round to doing so. A party of four were eating when we arrived on the Tuesday evening, and we were promptly greeted by a lovely young lady who proceeded to get the menus and left us to peruse the very ample selection of dishes for a few minutes before bringing our drinks. We normally have a selection of starters at other Chinese restaurants, so, being uncertain as to how big the portions were, ordered two, which arrived very hot and were extremely tasty too. We both decided on a beef dish, beef with spring onions and ginger (wow, very tasty) and beef with Cantonese sauce for my better half, with a very large bowl of rice with mushrooms. Not having room for a dessert, we passed reluctantly on those. It won't be very long until we go back: cant wait!

We visited as a groups of five and had our drinks preceded and received almost immediately, they then offered to take order but fussy friend wasn’t ready and they waited untol we looked over and were ready to take our orders straight away. The banquet menu was amazing especially the crispy duck by far the best I’ve ever had. Great, fast & friendly service with even better food and reasonably priced too. By far the best Chinese food I have had in a long time will happily go again

We visited early (5.30) on Saturday. Within an hour, the place was well filled. Clean, modern décor. Bright bar area with good selection of drinks. Welcoming staff, without being overly fussy. Wide selection of menu. We chose a "sharing platter" for starters off the banquet menu- really good, plenty of it. Then duck with pancakes - duck shredded at the table - again plenty of it. We ate king prawn and roast pork for mains with really decent portions of rice. The service was excellent. By 6.30, there was a good atmosphere with people enjoying the ambience. Parking so easy. Now this is our favourite Chinese restaurant in Blackpool/Bispham.

my daughters one who is vegetarian, and has been all her life (she is 22). ordered £24 worth of takeaway from this chinese, which we have been going to for years as they have an intensive menu for veggies. tonight the order arrived in identical packaging with no indication which was veggie, the food was also luke warm. so they rang to ask the question which one was veggie they had no idea. offered to send the driver round to say... not good enough. My daughter drove round to the shop they were nice to her in the shop BUT REFUSED TO REFUND OR REPLACE THE FOOD. this is awful for a takeaway i will be making a report to trading standards in the morning.

Went for the first time last night for a family celebration. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been nicer. They were friendly and very accommodating when it came to changing a couple of items on the menu for us. Won't be our last visit.

4 adults visited on a Friday for the Early Bird menu. Reasonable variety and good quality. Price was excellent at just over £10 a head. Clean, tasty and good service

On recommendations from a few people we decided to try this Chinese and what a find this was. The staff really friendly , service excellent and the food exceptional Will definitely be returning. The Early Bird Special at £10.50 don’t know how they do it. Well done Sweet Zen will be returning

Booked for 10 people and had a fantastic meal. Very clean and fresh decor. Mostly chose from the set menu for £16.95 each. Food was really fresh and piping hot and there was SO much of it! Staff extremely friendly and always making sure we were happy with our food. Would definitely go again!

The best chinese food in town, the restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive, the food very tasty and price are reasonable, chilli chicken , curry , and salt and chill dishes are my favourite ! Highly recommended, definitely will come back !

I came here on thursday with my family, we got recommendations from some friends that this place was good so we thought we would give it a try and they wasnt wrong, it was really nice and clean the place looked really modern proper enjoyed my evening. We will be back!

Visited the restaurant Sweet Zen for the first time today. The atmosphere was really calm and relaxed and the staff are lovely very attentive and polite. We had the fixed menu it was delicious and plentiful highly recommended will be returning again

Was a little cautious as the restaurant had changed hands but this has got to be one of the nicest Chinese in the area. The banquet was amazing and very reasonable, the staff were lovely, friendly and very attentive. I will be back and highly recommend :)

Visited last week with some friends, and was absolutely delighted with the full package. From a very pleasant greeting on arrival, to the décor and layout, all very pleasing.

We went last night for the first time with the new owners fully in charge. We went with my parents and introduced them to the banquet menu and all thoroughly enjoyed it, the starter are delicious, the duck is plentiful and crispy then we all had a share of 4 main dishes with fried rice plus some salt and pepper chips. Great value for money and a lovely restaurant with wonderful staff. We will be back.

Being new to the area, this was our first visit here and we were unaware of it's history. Suffice to say that the current owners, only having been there a few months, seem determined to be the polar opposite of anything you may read on earlier reviews. The decor and furnishings are top notch and the welcome could not have been warmer.

Had a takeaway from here and couldn't fault it. We had the munch box which was brilliant and excellent value for money. Food was hot and had plenty of flavour. Will definitely use in the future.

When we last visited the Oriental Village we were less than impressed with either the food or the service.

We've just visited oriental village, first night under new ownership. Restaurant was very quiet but I guess that was due to people not knowing if it had re-opened. Food was excellent. Tasty, fresh and good quality. Will definitely visit again!

This use to be the Harmony restaurant which was a great place to eat with fantastic food but it declined over time before closing with some bad press. Its now under new management and has had a make over, also happy to say the quality of the food is back up the the high standard it use to be, we're really glad of this because we love the place.

If you are looking for a leisurely eating experience, and have time to enjoy it, this is the place to go to! Be patient, as the food is freshly made, so it does take time to prepare. But the food is exceptional. The variety in their different Banquets is great! We had 10 people for a 70th birthday celebration in June. We had been there previously a couple of times and we were duly impressed; so much so, that it was the place the birthday girl wanted to go to. We were there for 3 hours,and it was fantastic! The service was great, we were not rushed, and the staff were very attentive. It was lovely to catch up with family in a nice modern establishment. I am originally from the US and have eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants there, and here since my move to England. By far, this is the BEST Cantonese I have eaten. third time we have been here,never had a better chinese meal, great food and service, the prawn toast is to die for.

Ate here for the first time yesterday and I can honestly say it is the best chinese food I've eaten. Service was amazing, food was incredible. When it came to paying I was honestly expecting to pay twice the amount, value for money is a huge understatement. I would highly recommend to anybody. I will absolutely be returning and will not order Chinese food from anywhere else!

Fathers day outing. Great food with excellent service. The menu is relatively limited but the quality of food makes up for this.

This is a great place to eat. A good selection on the menu but not too many to be phased by. We started with dim sum and it was followed by the restaurant special noodle dish along with duck in orange and wine sauce. All this was washed down with a reasonably priced Pinot.

Second visit here and was as good as the first - the food was lovely, fresh and plentiful- it tasted so fresh and nice and the service was outstanding- the village banquet is great value for money - highly recommended

Seven of us went there last night for a family birthday meal. The food was really tasty and piping hot. The staff were so pleasant and could not have been any more attentive. The whole atmosphere was spot on so needless to say we shall return

Me & My family visited this place to celebrate my wife's birthday, its modern decor and friendly staff offers a warm welcome, the service is excellent and very staff friendly, our food arrived and we were pleasantly surprised as it was well presented and very tasty rather than your average greasy Chinese takeaways, the portions are rather large so I advise you to wear one size big trousers as the food is so good you would not want to waste, my fife was offered a complimentary cocktail for the special occasion and at the end a Cake, now that is a service that goes the extra mile for me.

We have just been to this relatively new restaurant for a change from our normal place and was pleasantly impressed. The staff were attentive and helpful, even going as far as nipping out to get a bottle of sparkling wine from local store due to running out in the restaurant.

We were celebrating a family members birthday so booked just over a week before with there being 14 of us! We arrived and they had lost our booking but could luckily fit us in. They then tried fitting us around a table that would fit ten, a slight squeeze but in the end we got another table moved over. They took our drinks order and brought them out forgetting two peoples drinks. They then took our good order the man who took our food order was very rude and blunt. When asking if they did a vegetarian banquet he bluntly said no when we said we rang the night before to ask and they said they did to one, he just walked away. They put one together but clearly a lack of communication. Disappointing really as all other competition offer a vegetarian banquet. Meals took over an hour to come out and was slammed down in front of us saying hers , yours, his!! So unprofessional and rude!! All in all we were there just over three hours, very slow service. When asking how long ourain meals were going to be the same man shouted there on way at me!! The young man behind the bar was very friendly and the only o e who seemed to have a clue of what was going on. A shame really as when the food did eventually turn up it was lovely bit certainly won't be returning. Lost repeat business

Used for the first time for take away. Easy to order, ready when I was told it would be. HUGE portions and really, really tasty. Delighted to have tried it- a new weekly staple.

First time in this restaurant for over 15 yrs. we had moved from the area. The best way to sum up our visit is. 5* Service. Food brilliant. Very pleasant staff. Taking our friends next week can’t wait.

We arranged a night out with 2 friends we haven’t seen for a while and decided to go to Oriental Village on the basis of recent good reviews. We were not disappointed. We ordered the banquet and the food was delicious. Our shared starters were quite big and very tasty. The duck pancake, shredded at our table, was the nicest I have had. Main course and rice was also delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient and the ambiance was lovely. The only downside we had was that they didn’t have beer on tap, only bottled beer which was quite expensive. My husband does prefer beer on draught. The overall price was good and we will definitely be coming back again.

We took a risk and took two members of our family here for the first time. We was more than impressed. The service was lovely and very polite. The food was exceptional. That much that we ordered a take away the following evening as we enjoyed it so much and that was just as enjoyable . We will definitely return. Thank you team oriental village.

Tuesday evening with 4 friends for our 6 weekly soiree. We come from diverse work environments and meet 10 x a year for a get together. 2 of us had been previously and really promoted this restaurant as being ecxcellent. Ssdly expectations were not reached. There were few covers but despite this the service was poor. Starters were fine and prompt.

We ate here for the first time and was really impressed! We had a banquet which was good value for money and lots of variety to choose from. The staff were really friendly and even brought some cocktail samples over! Can't wait to go back.

Went last night for a meal with work would of been 5 stars but the service wasn't great. Food was excellent and the cocktails were great. Will return just hope the service is better next time

Another 'Time Tunnel' eating experience when we attended Oriental Village recently. Instantly transported back to the salty wallpaper-paste, lifeless muck of early 70's Chinese restaurant fodder in an instant. How do they get away with this in 2017?!?

This is the best Chinese in Blackpool , the food was fantastic the service was brilliant, the cocktails were amazing , I cannot wait to go back , absolutely outstanding festive menu was good value and perfect portions ! Well done guys and girls nice to see a business doing a great job and service

Took some friends here last Friday from up North who were suitably impressed by the service, food, quality care and attention. We took the £18:95 buffet which was excellent plus some drinks including cocktails total £90 don't think that is to bad for 3 adults and a 4 course meal. The service was great food delicious and place is a nice ambient location for a good night out. 2nd time we have been defo be back

Myself and the Mrs ate here early on in the evening and it was empty for most of the meal . Our fault for being hungry i guess. Anyway we had the £19 each The soups were nice but we think the hot and sour might’ve been a bit MSG heavy as my partner developed a weird pain in her face which we researched and it may have been a reaction to something in the soups which does point to MSG . No big deal but I thought Chinese restaurants had been trying to cut down on their MSG usage . The starters were ok , the prawn toast was a bit tasteless , the seaweed cold , the ribs were lovely and the salt and pepper chicken wings were a bit tasteless but nice and meaty. My partner said she loved the spring rolls. The duck was plentiful and nice and crispy and all the veg with it was also really fresh . For the mains I had beef curry and the beef was decent and plentiful and the curry was really nice . The Mrs had sizzling king prawn which had huge prawns in and this too was to die for . The rice which accompanied the mains was clean,fresh and really nice . The drinks are also very reasonably priced now . £3 for a bottle of peroni ain’t bad I’m sure you ll agree .

The staff here make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are friendly and professional. The food is the best I have had in a Chinese restaurant! A particular mention must go to the chef (think his name is Andy) I have specific dietary requirements and he made a bespoke meal just for me that I have to say was absolutely delicious! This restaurant is often full and there always seems to be one or two birthday tables in whenever I go! Very popular! The bbq ribs are to die for!

Visited on a busy Wednesday evening and hasn't booked. Made to feel very welcome and the waiters throughout the night was excellent. Had the banquet at £18.95 which included soup, mixture of starters, duck and pancakes and then a choice of main. all the food was of good quality and the spring rolls were excellent and very tasty. didn't feel rushed throughout the courses and was asked when we were ready for the mains. nothing to fault best Chinese by far in Blackpool and will be highly recommending to friends and family. meal for two with two bottles of a very nice pinot grigio just over £70 can't wait to come back.

Visited three times in the last month. Every time the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good local car parking but watch out for the 2-hour limit in the adjacent local authority car park area.

Went in for an early meal recently with two members of family. Didn't want a large meal so just ordered main meal and a bottle of wine. We all had curries and all thought that they were excellent. Only disappointment was size of rice portion. The fried rice portion that was for two of us was not much bigger than the single boiled rice portion. The wine was good and I thought was reasonably priced. My only complaint was that we were asked to vacate our table before we had finished our wine so other customers could have it. Because the food good we will probably visit again.

Visited here with the family and had a great meal. The waiter made us at ease straight away and was very funny too.

Ordered a takeaway for a group of five, which we went and collected. Food was a reasonable standard, but unfortunately the chow mein we had ordered had been missed off the order - we didn't realise this until we got home, so by that time it was too late to do anything about it. With this item missing, we just about had enough food for the five of us. We did enjoy the food we had.

went tonight with my daughter in law..my 5th visit ..there isn't anything I can fault it on..starters amazing even let us change chicken wings for extra prawn toast ..nicest I've had ...the duck and pancakes were perfect...mains ..I've been through all the choices now and I cant pick one as my favourite they are all excellent and portion sizes are extremely generous neither one of us could finish the dish...and the house wine is just fantastic!! ..now to the staff..what can I say ..great team work very friendly without being over the top and nothing is too much trouble...if I could give it more than 5 stars I would absolutely excellent start to finish

Was visiting Blackpool with family and wanted somewhere nice to have evening meal, excellent choice, we were needing somewhere that could cater for our mum who was needing some nice but plain food, oriental village didn’t disappoint and couldn’t have looked after her and us any better, staff were sooo friendly and food was gorgeous - if we’re back down that way again would definitely pop back in!

We was told about this place so went to try it we wasn't disappointed at all this restaurant is really posh and clean the staff are so helpful and the food is outstanding we had the banquet and there was plenty to go at the starters are so tasty then the duck it just melts in your mouth followed by a really nice curry

Visited on a Monday evening. This was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last! We started with drinks and my cocktail was lovely and arrived promptly. We ordered the village banquet which all arrived steaming hot and beautifully tasty. I have nothing but good things to say. Hot tasty reasonably priced food, yummy drunks and speedy unobtrusive service. This restaurant deserves to succeed we will be back!

The first time we went was on the opening night food was excellent, the service was terrible but because it was their first night it was not fair to criticise too much could not fault the food, the drinks are pricey . On Our second visit 3 weeks later we found that Banquet A that was £12.95 was called Lucky Banquet excluding combination starter but was still £12.95 I don't know if I am nitpicking but to me that's a price increase in 3 weeks I still cannot fault the food except there was no onions in my curry service needs to be better.

Had the banquet for 3 people and there was enough choice and plenty of food to share. The restaurant was busy and the staff were very attentive and polite. The price of the food was acceptable and not overly expensive. Would recommend people to try it out.

Warm welcome ... lovely glass table with lazy Susan. Although it was a Wednesday early evening the place was buzzing. Friendly staff and a knowledgeable barman who offered me a gin tasting ...after I ordered a second G&T..;.

Went on Wednesday night for birthday and was quite busy. Very nice decor and staff welcoming. Had banquet all starters hot and very tasty . Main courses very good with good service. Drinks quite expensive but they always are. Will go back as it was very good.Impressed

Food alright but pricey. Drinks extortionately priced. Meal cost 107.00 for a family of 4 and children shared a main.....Real shame.

Delighted to see a new restaurant opening in Bispham. In the interests of research we tried all three options: drink only, eat-in and a takeaway (not on the same night of course). Cocktail servers friendly and seem to know their stuff, though the reliance on sweet cocktails is disappointing. Be interesting to see if the combination of cocktail bar and chinese food actually works for them. The King Prawn chow mein was nice and dry with lovely moist properly cooked prawns and lovely soft noodles; though with strange additions/omissions: I appreciate everyone does it differently but no onion? I did ask for plenty of onions and got a few raw ones sprinkled on top so clearly the dish does not usually contain them. I did get undercooked carrot and courgette though- go figure!. King Prawn curry was delicious though varied a lot over the two different occasions in heat. Beef in BB sauce very good and the char sui. Too much sauce in the takeaway meals- just wasteful. Sesame prawn toast probably the most tasteless i've ever had. Duck was good with lovely fresh salad vegetables. Wanted to give a higher score but the inconsistency means I can only give 3 stars.

Overpriced. Much better options on Redbank Road. Chow mein was really poor , chicken and beef curries had wafer thin scraps of meat in bulked out with onions and a watery sauce. Chilli chips soggy and bland. Chicken fried rice tasteless. Wings not crispy enough. 40 quid for what was one of the most disappointing takeaways ive ever eaten. Stick to the tried and tested ones in future.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here yesterday evening. We had the banquet. The soup was very tasty and we especially liked the sesame prawn toast which was freshly made. Tge plates were beautiful and we had a choice of chopsticks or cutlery. The wine was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The decor wasn't particularly chinese and the tables were slightly too close together.

We had a great meal tonight for my Mum's Birthday, all who had the banquet were really impressed, the duck was shredded at the table which they said made it even nicer. I had a main of Satay mixed vegetables & Boiled rice but was also offered to have a Veggie Banquet option. It's not cheap but not expensive either & the quality of food and service was great. Well done on the refurb also as the restaurant now looks classy. The staff were efficient, friendly and good fun too. We'll return, Thank You.

Went with friends to try out the new restaurant. Banquet menu offered which was ok! Ordered wine & bottles of lager because none on draught. Prices were quite steep for 330ml of Peroni over £4 for Bispham!

Great service with a smile from the staff who are attentive, helpful and efficient. Its extremely clean, classy, comfortable and welcoming. The food is great, good selection, very tasty and filling. They have an awesome selection of cocktails and it was difficult to pick a favourite from the selection of them all that we managed to work our way through they were so good.

We dined at the Oriental Village on a Saturday night 19:30 table. The staff are very helpful and polite. Food is a set menu choice which they will accommodate to your liking and is set at a reasonable price. Good was very tasty; the lettuce wrap starter was new and very nice. Drinks are expensive; especially the cocktails. Overall a good venue

Wow! Perfect word to describe this restaurant. From when we walked through the door its modern, classy, super clean and has such a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and pay so much attention to detail. Now onto the food...absolutely beautiful...the starters were hot, full of flavour and the meat was so tender. It was followed by duck and pancakes. Normally I cannot stand duck and pancakes....oriental village has completely changed this for me. It was succulent, tender and the portions were brilliant. The main which was special sweet and sour was cooked to perfection. The veg in the dish was so fresh and the meats were perfect. For the amount of food you get the price is amazing. We also had a beautiful white wine with our dinner. My family are booked back in for wednesday night and im sure we will receive service and food on par if not better (if thats even possible). Thanks Oriental Village for such a positive experience
