We’ve been here many times over the years. You wouldn’t tell from the decor, but they serve delicious Chinese food (at very good prices). Their roast duck rice is tasty, crispy and comes in large portions. Their crispy squid and dry beef ho fun are great. The staff is always pleasant. Do give it a try!

I go to this great little place on a regular basis, the food is tasty, great value. The husband and wife who run it are very hardworking and kind people, a big plate of duck and rice, mini spring rolls and a can of coke all for £8.70 eat in, where else can you get this in central London, 10/10

I visited at the weekend for a quick bite to eat, a day later I started to get a fever and severe headaches followed by days of upset stomach which my doctor suspects is e-coli food poisoning. Whilst I can’t be certain, I’m pretty sure I picked it up here. :(

This noodle bar's ambience is very plain and simple, no frills, but the service is cheerful and the food well prepared and tasty. Portions are generous and I haven't managed to finish a meal (the Chinese think it's rude to do that anyway). The main dish and rice are served in separate bowls but you can ask for a plate. The location is very handy with the Tube nearby and several bus routes.

For a quick lunch, you get really good food and portion for the price. Seating arrangement is big so a plus point. We also take away sometimes. Overall, 5 stars for the food, price and service

It’s good value and decent quality. I’d recommend it especially on a budget. It’s also quick. Don’t expect a maître d’, this is run by a Chinese crew.

Been here a couple times now, food is really tasty and very reasonably priced, service has always been nice too.

When I called up to order the person who I spoke to was blunt and abrupt. The same man served me and gave off the same energy. The springs rolls were pretty good and the noodles were a bit dry and slightly tasteless. If I would rate this Chinese with cold being the worst and hot being the best I’d say it was luke warm.

Pretty average. Over cooked spring rolls and the chips where a little on over cooked side too. The noodle and rice dish was ok but not worth the money.

I ordered the salt and pepper chicken, chilli shredded beef, the duck special rice dish that comes with spring onions and the special fried rice. The salt and pepper chicken was really good and I definitely recommend, same goes for the shredded beef and is made even better with the siracha sauce. The duck and rice was decent but not amazing. Overall a pretty good place.

Fresh Oriental dishes in a nice clean place near Finchley Road tube station. Service is very good. Will visit again.

Been a customer for over fifteen years and I'm honestly disgusted with the food and service. waited over an hour for are food. when it arrived the rice was cold , we received chicken balls instead of prawn and the chicken was severely undercooked which we only noticed after we ate it. can only assume there is a bad bout of food poisoning on the way. we phoned and told them and we were told by them what do you expect so late in the day? they then continued to hang up. we phoned back and over an hour later they agreed to a partial refund only because we threatened to sue. if you care about your health DO NOT BUY HERE !!!!!!

We placed a telephone order which we have done in the past ...We previously had missing items which we was told would be added next time ! So anyway we ordered the all day special X2 only to receive a completely different order and without the added spring rolls and seaweed! The restaurant was rude and completely put us at fault !! This is not the first time ...Also the food is completely tasteless and bland ...Avoid at all costs as there not cheap neither £20 for two all day specials ! Go elsewhere !! Tasteless and over priced

This is a good straight-forward Chinese takeaway. I used to enjoy it more but I think it has gone down in quality in the last couple of years. It is very reasonably priced.

If you are nearby and hungry, try this place. Great Chinese food at great prices, this place is mainly for take aways or a quick sit down not an evening out.

Not a very nice experience and certainly would never return.The tables were filthy and it was the start of the day 12.30.My order was incorrect and whilst i waited for the meal i ordered i watched everyone else get their food first.My friend ordered a soup for a starter and got all of his food together. When he asked if they could keep his food warm until he'd finished the soup, he was given a plate to cover it.........The food had little flavour except for the burnt taste which i think was due to the pans not being cleaned properly.

Este ha sido un elemento básico en Finchley Road durante muchos años. Recuerdo visitar esto hace más de 10 años cuando no estaba tan mal. Had the set menu for two and was all delicious, lovely fresh vegetables and tasty sides! Best egg fried rice I’ve ever had.

Tuvimos un chino llevar anoche de pollo agridulce estilo Hong King con huevo arroz frito, algas y pato rollitos de primavera. La comida en la estrella oriental es de buena calidad a un precio realmente bueno. Entregan la comida rápidamente, dicen entre 30 y 45 minutos, pero nunca es tan larga. I ate dinner there, I got the food pretty quickly. The service was nice, and the food was tasty and cheap. Would recomend (just don't go expecting gourment food)

I've been eating here on and off for years and it doesn't disappoint. Chicken in chilli and black bean sauce is a favourite. The chicken satay is also excellent. There is no decor to speak of, but the place is clean. It's good for eating!

He estado aquí una feria cuantas veces y yo disfrute de su comida. Tuve de ternera con salsa de alubias negras, arroz langostinos tempura king, sencillas y una bebida por alrededor de £12. La comida era deliciosa. Había otros 2 que dejaron antes de mí que dijo "gracias" al servidor, incluso agradeció a la chef.

Nos alojamos en un hotel en Finchley Road, y fuimos a la oriental estrellas unas cuantas veces para cenar tarde para tomar una comida caliente. Este lugar es un agujero en la pared con conveniente recepción a pedido y unas cuantas sillas y mesas. No hay servicio de mesa.

Este restaurante es bueno para comer rápido y supongo que para llevar. He comido aquí dos veces y la segunda fue tan buena como la primera. La comida era deliciosa. This is probably the best Chinese near West Hampstead. It's like a canteen inside, but clean and nice (just ignore the busy road). Food is tasty and cheap - you'll get change from a fiver. Dubious recommendation but even the local UKIP candidate said its his favourite local restaurant. They do takeaway too.

Some of the food is really good. I like duck fried rice (lots of tasty duck on top of too much plain white rice). My friends love salt and pepper crispy squid. I've had other stuff and it was OK, good if you're hungry. The whole place is a bit shabby and sad. The only decorations on the walls are the three posters warning about the shoplifting being prosecuted in the area.

One of my favourite take-away restaurants in the area. A good selection of delicious and fresh food. Close to the tube station.

Really quick service- worryingly quick- food was done in about 2 minutes. Food was alright but losing its winning charm. Customer service not so great as the lady refused to make my rice with extra soy sauce

You can phone your order in 5 minutes before collecting it!!! The fact that they cannot vary the menu to suit you suggests that all meals are ready prepared and ready to go. Having said that, the portions are generous and good value for money. The prices have increased very little over the 10 or more years we have been going. We always order the same: Duck fried rice and vegetable Chow Mein. Contrary to what a previous reviewer said, you can sit down to eat, but you wouldn't really want to and certainly not for a night out with friends!!! Only if you were alone, in a hurry.

Brought some friends to the place - take away only. Never disappointed, always order the same - need with black beans - fantastic.Tho the guy behind the counter always looks annoyed and gets angry after he has to repeat the order number twice. There is only 4 customers in the shop - no need to yell.

I think that when we first ordered from here we were lucky and chose the best thing on the menu as the food seems to be getting worse each time we order... The chicken and mange tout in a ginger sauce is fantastic, as are the chow meins. But everything else we have tried has been poor. The egg fried rice had no egg. The Tofu had the consistency of leather and was unedible. The sauce had no flavour too. It went straight in the bin. The yellow bean sauce tasted like nothing but sugar. Chicken Sate with peanut butter sauce had no sauce and was so overcooked it was difficult to eat. Black bean sauce had no flavour. etc etc etcWe still visit though every couple of weeks, but we always order the same items now. As they are always good
