It was the first time I went there the service was good and got some stuff including the pandon mini cheese cake, when i get home and open it got mole on it and when I went back to the shop they said they can't do anything with out the recite, am not going back there ever and I suggest anyone to be carefull of what they get or to get it somewhere else...

Nobody reply email, take more then two week time to order, even you call them but still no answer, at the end take up ti 4 weeks time to order

Good place to buy Asian groceries including rice, noodles, dumplings, frozen foods, and snacks. BTW there are many kinds of sources can choose.

Has a good selection of Asian foods in-store. Online grocery shopping option is prefect and they offer fast local delivery. At the back of the store there is Umai which serves freshly foods - Korean fried chicken with honey and garlic sauce 💯💯💯💯

Good experience ordering online here. Takes quite a few days to ship if you choose standard shipping, but they do state this before you order. So that's no problem. But if you're in a rush to get stuff, you'll need to order priority. I ordered 2 bottles of soy sauce. Came nice, safely, and securely packed. Both bottles have really good dates. Will be ordering from here again.

“There’s always room for improvement” Lots of good Asian items. Small store but have the most basic ingredients you need for daily cooking. They have small cafe but not open on given schedule.

I go here to get various bits and bobs. Mainly vegetables. It's a fairly new supermarket. They moved from a small premises the other side of town. This store is much bigger. Although on first floor as a disabled lift on the outside. Lots of fresh vegetables,frozen foods. Everything well stocked. There is a little cafe at the end selling quick snacks. All staff can speak English and all very helpful. They also do a local delivery service

Everything is fine. The boss is kind, and though the prices are a bit high, they had everything I was looking for. I witnessed the impoliteness of a young, plump Asian female employee, and the uncomfortable expressions of others, including myself. I think it would be more beneficial in the long run to install self-checkout counters. Could I possibly get the schedule for when that person is working? Pleasantly surprised with the delectable flavours considering how affordable they were (superb dim sum quality). Thoroughly satisfied with this hearty dim sum feast which we had right in the comfort of our own home. I simply selected the products from www.orientalmart.co.uk - it was user friendly and easy to navigate as they were grouped into different categories (country of cuisine, fresh/frozen, instant, rice and grains, drinks, halal products, cookware & tableware etc). The food items were carefully packed and delivered to our doorstep a few days after the order was placed, had a delightful experience all throughout from ordering to the checkout - convenience at its best!

One of the coolest Oriental supermarkets we've been to. They have loads of stock that other shops don't have!

Great for a smaller shop in town. Not the largest cash-and-carry. However, it holds the essentials for stocking up an Asian cupboard, authentic Chinese bakery goods and groceries, multitude of snacks and drinks, and were able to supply authentic moon cakes for the coming mid Autumn festival. Plays it up for the students living nearby, since it has a foodie bar in the back to grab snacks after a quick shop.

I used to buy tofu, pak-choi (veg), cup noodles and seasoning sauce there. Different types of Chinese food are available there. Good location and very easy to access, just next to the Opera house in the city centre.

The only thing stopping me from giving a 5/5 is their lead time. Even when you pay top dollar for delivery, it takes AT LEAST a week for them to dispatch your order. They have a fantastic selection, and it all arrives perfectly packaged, but you might not be alive by the time it arrives. This one caveat needs to be worked on.

I love coming here every time I visit Notts. It’s quite close to the town centre so is easily reachable from the bus station, as well as having a tram stop right outside that goes to/from the train station, making it handy for a quick trip. I usually get bubble tea, sometimes hot food like bao buns or a cooked meal and they always taste amazing. In particular I love the Japanese beef bowl. There are lots of things to choose from. I also like to buy things from the supermarket so I can continue the experience even when I’m at home. They have a great variety of snacks, food and drinks, and even fresh bread. I love this place!

Me and my partner went here for the first time today. I was so pleased to see how wonderful the food and staff were. I bought some steamed bao buns to go and they were delicious! I

The slender waitress at the checkout today was very rude, she didn't say a single word, didn't make eye contact during the service, I was still packing and she threw my receipt hardly on the desk, she didn't even turn around. Her service made me feel terrible, the worst service I have ever seen!

I couldn't find what I was looking for and every member of staff were all talking with each other, will shop at the one in Hockley in future.

Love the way they keep deleting my reviews after I called out their illegal behaviour. There is an agitated “security” guard at the door in no uniform who forces you to open your bags to check if you have stolen. If you refuse he argues with you. We didn’t even buy anything. Only police officers can check people’s bags, not even security guards. Sort out your shop lifting problems with security cameras instead of harassing random customers. Will never come here again.

It's located in the city centre. This store is like heaven for Asian people. They have plenty of items from Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, and Koreeeaannn. You will enjoy it. It's clean and tidy. They also have a tiny little cafe, exclusive for bubble tea, so cute. However, they are pricey and do take advantage of the lack of asian shops in Nottingham, in that respect, which is understanble from a business point of view but for the consumer/customer it is expensive.

Almost all the produce is 40% more than other supermarkets, their peppers are over £3 for 3 and upon getting home realised they are reselling Lidl’s !!!

The shops I often go to have all the Chinese food you want.

Unfortunately, place is known for racial profiling funnily enough. The security guard asked where I was from after accusing me of stealing and demanding to check my bags. He got aggressive after knowing that my friend was from China and kept threatening to call the police.

The wait for the food was over 20 minutes for a take away order, which was a bit too long to say I'd nipped out on my lunch break, and unfortunately the food was not really worth the wait.

Don’t go here. Overpriced and accused of stealing. Was accused of stealing by security after he saw me with something in my hand earlier ( decided not to buy it because of the long que) then when I tried to just walk out he accused me of stealing and made me show him where I put it back… Don’t know what they need to sort out but surely it shouldn’t involve embarrassing their customers

RACIST! Avoid at all costs! I was racially profiled at this store by the security guard. He accused me (a black woman) of stealing when I mistook the entry for an exit. I have been a loyal customer of Umai Oriental Street Food Cafe, regularly buying their bubble tea but NEVER AGAIN! The security guard harassed me and shouted obscenities even though he could see my purchases in my hand. Don't bother spending your money here; it is all overpriced tat anyways! Literally, what could you even steal? NOODLES?! I was honestly shocked. I knew something was going on when he walked past me, staring TWICE while I was waiting for my bubble tea to be ready. I walked in, ordered bubble tea, waited for said tea and left the shop, never looking at any product in any aisle! All employees seem to have misdirected their efforts into being racist instead of providing basic customer service. When I called back asking for the security guards' details for my police report, instead of being met with helpfulness and sympathy about the situation. The phone attendant was whispering to his colleague. He refused to give any details and instead wanted to collect my details to "pass on". He also tried to intimidate me by saying that he would hear the racist security guards "report" of the incident later. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. What a terrible start to black history month! *if you delete this review I will continue to repost it everyone deserves to be warned about racism

Loved this place! The variety of produce is outstanding, the prices are very reasonable too. Even the snack bar was as good as it was unexpected. I will definitely visit again!

We wandered into the supermarket while waiting for the tram. A wonderful place for anyone who likes authentic Asian food. There's a massive selection of fresh and frozen food as well as pantry items. The cafe sells the most amazing char sui pork buns.

Great variety of Chinese foods. They're quite expensive though, more expensive than Asiana unfortunately. The staff aren't very friendly either.

Be aware they are selling expired food so always check it in the shop. We just bought this green chilli today, best before 27/sep/ 2021, today is 30/05/2022!!! Sadly we don't live in Nottingham so can't take it back.

We went to another grocery store in Nottingham to stock up on groceries for our trip here. However, we couldn't find soy sauce and our daughter didn't like the noodles we purchased. We took a look here as the reviews mentioned they had more ethnic authentic groceries. The reviews weren't kidding. Within a few minutes, I found everything on my list. They even have a fridge area with all sorts of foods (tofu, Chinese meatballs, Chinese vegetables, etc.) that I would love to go through more thoroughly next time I'm here.

I can't pronounce the google listed name though. But I think it would just be the "Oriental Mart". Has a wide range of fruit and vegetables. Noodles, sake, dragonball and sailor moon theme drinks. It is not your typical shop so naturally it'll be a bit more pricey than other places. Other than that it is brilliant. To be honest I just buy the sake and ramune sodas and obviously the noodles.

After having had rude/arrogant customers services holding my delivery requesting me to buy more things after I placed my order and have been charged by them, and much longer waiting time for delivery from Oriental Mart, I now have doubts if all these positive comments are in fact all genuine? They charged me money for my orders and then hold on the delivery and requesting me to buy more things without a clear and fair explanation. When I questioned customer service their rude email reply - we have stated on our websites etc, which was not true as I can't find any information regarding requesting customers to buy more goods after they have already been charged for their orders. Their delivery timeline is unclear too and longer waiting period than other online stores. Unlike other online Asian food stores they like you know how many working days to delivery your order. They will despatch the orders in some days from their end, and then some logistic company will take over which will take some more time ...

Horrible experience. Card can be only used when pay more than five pounds, and the cashier try to force me to buy things I didn't need at all. Moreover goods are more expensive than other Asian stores . I would say this is the worst stores I’ve ever been

A good Chinese shop with great variety

Lots of fantastic Asian food here, at great prices with a really good variety of foodstuffs across Chinese, Japanese and Korean - Loads of things you won't get in your normal supermarket, well worth a visit, with delivery and pick-ups too! March 2022 update - Point above still stands!

Cool Asian food shop with a café. The prices here are quite expensive though.

A whole load of East Asian and South East Asian food, ingredients, and cookware. Also there's a café at the back offering freshly made hot food (delicious, worth waiting for) and bubble teas to eat in or take away. The shop can be crowded though, with narrow aisles, and pretty expensive as most of its goods are imported.

All items received within the week, there are no asian supermarkets near me and I would need to drive at least 45 minutes to the nearest one, this shop delivered very fast and all packaged perfectly. They have some real nice items I'm excited to try!

Unfortunately I have to agree with other reviews about the hiked prices & inability of staff helpfulness in relation to finding less costly alternatives, especially in their hot food cafe bar. It would appear staff are specifically trained Not to do this, ie. Not to offer the same but cheaper option, although it's not helped by the slight language barrier & the somewhat confusing menus boards..
