I have to say the service was awful, very rude staff…also the food was cold, chips were soggy and the salt and pepper chicken was dry!, never eating from there again

Judging by the Google reviews, you’d think ordering from here was like summoning the devil himself to cook your dinner. I half expected the delivery driver to show up wearing a hazmat suit with a side of apologies. I ordered with a little fear (and a lot of curiosity), expecting food that might be as savage as the owner’s replies. But wow, what a plot twist! The food was fantastic! So, if you want your Chinese food with a side of sarcasm, look no further. The only thing better than the food is watching the owner turn customer complaints into stand-up comedy material. Five stars – for the food, and five more for the entertainment. This place is an absolute roast house (pun totally intended)!

Very overwhelmed by the amount of salt in the food especially the starter of salt n pepper box. It was inedible, disgusting, even the curry sauce was ladend with salt. It all went into the bin, I only used this Chinese take away because my favorite was closed. I spent £30.

Absolutely terrible! I came here with my poodle and they said that the shop wasn’t pet friendly, I told them it was a show dog and they still said “no”. What kind of ignorant peoole speak to customers like that!

Have been ordering from here for a while, and the food has been amazing every time. Portions are decent size and have always been fresh and full of flavour. Have family who like spice but can't eat anything too spicy, and they always cater to a request to make a dish on the milder side, which is greatly appreciated. Thank you for the great munch every time! Highly recommend giving them a try.

found a dead fly in my salt n chili chips and got told to eat it food disgusting and owners attitude is appalling im calling public health if i dont get a refund and compensation

Food is always banging never fails me. The service is kind and quick and the quality of food is definitely worth it being abit pricey I always order from here and is definitely my fav place!

The food was 10/10 but the atmosphere of the owners supporting Xi Jinping and the CCP instead of the glorious United States of America and Israel made the experience eerie.

Been going here over 20 years. Food is lovely. My personal favourites are beef in chilli and wine sauce. Also the prawn toast.

Ordered and was here within 15 minutes did you even cook it

First time we have ordered and won't be the last. With so much to choose from we decided to include in our order a munch box. This was demolished. I ordered my favourite, salt and pepper chicken, and I dont think I will be able to order from anywhere else now, this was definitely the best I have ever tasted. The young man that served us, Zach, was very polite, patient and professional. I can see why people rave about this business, it has the whole package.

First time ordering with my parents and the food was impeccable. The service was given by a young lad who was very polite and confident. Food was served quickly and still hot when I got home. Will definitely be coming here again!

Waited nearly 2 hours for our food for it to finally come and be freezing cold. The delivery driver was rude and didn’t apologise. Only positive was the lovely young lad who answered the phone when I called the shop. I always order from here but no longer. I will find a Chinese that doesn’t take 2 hours to bring cold food.

I absolutely love how social media cancels people and businesses. This "takeaway" thinks it's acceptable to shame customers online because they are disappointed with either the customer service or the food/service. Clearly the person behind the responses to reviews has little ability to resolve conflict or effectively strategies to improve customer experiences. Some of the food looks genuinely disgusting, hope it goes bust.

Bland food and not even worth 1 star… Stay away from this dump.

Seen the reviews on the Internet not Google. You guys have some brilliant responses to those who don't want to paythe price of food considering a pint costs more than a meal in places where I live. Could I get40 quids worth of food for a tenner lol. Lots of respect for you guys food is quality.

The worst part about this place is that the owner thinks his responses to negative reviews are somehow endearing. Only thing saltier than the owner is the food, the salt helps hide the poor quality ingredients.

Great fast deliverey ordered £ 15.50 box arrived hot and fast great taste and choice you get enough for 2 people definitely recommend . Will be ordering again soon !!

I telephoned an order to collect, I asked for Special in OK sauce in batter. I got it home to find thick batter covered chicken balls with a very small tub of OK sauce. I rang the takeaway complain, I was told that there were two king prawns in batter too! I said how can you add two King Prawns and call it a Special?? The reply was everything has gone up in price!!! I was charged just short of £10 for a "not special" with a tiny tub of OK sauce and chips. It was awful too.

Since people feel the need to mention the responses to reviews, it was the reason my Uncle had heard of you and why he wanted to order from here. You definitely have a fan in him and no one will complain since the food was lovely. We had a good mix of things from spare ribs and salt and pepper chicken to the Chinese curry and oyster sauce dishes. All delicious 😋

Well where do i begin! I really enjoy chinese food, heck i am chinese!!, but this chinese food wasnt good chinese food. I had been told how excellent the sweet and sour chicken is, so i added this dish to my order and excitedly waited for my delivery to show. I cannot believe how sad it was to see that my sweet and sour chicken, not only had no sugar, but ALSO had no lemons - you can hardly call that a 'sweet and sour chicken' can you oriental express. To top it all off through the portion was far too big, i was served a mountain of this non lemony chicken. In frustration i threw the pile of it onto my kitchen floor for my Hamsters to eat, but even they didnt enjoy this dish. One of the hamsters even defficated onto the chicken. If this were the euro vision song contest - i'd be giving you 'NIL POINT'

Food sucks more than the owner’s mum

Horrible quality, Food came two hours late, tasted like cardboard and the owner/management are petty, unsympathetic trash, see their replies to any criticisms as proof, one word- AVOID.

It's ok, wouldn't go out of my way to get an order here but decent enough food, if a bit greasy and possibly a but too much salt, prices ok. Used to be great, to be fair coild have just caught it on a bad day.

A company full of excuses, 1 star

Only came on here after seeing a facebook post about the owner's replies, so, had to check for myself. What a joke of an owner! Rather than improving, they're insulting everyone that's got something to say. Can't wait to see what they got to say about my "review" lol If that is how they treat customers, I am not surprised they're losing business. Places like this should shut doors for good!

Lovley food! Been twice in the space of 3 days now 😂😂😂 The food is tasty, warm and the portion sizes are decent too! The staff are extremely friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Horrible experience, food took ages to arrive and when it did it was all soggy and cold.

Ordered from here for years. Always highly recommended to others. They have been getting lighter on the portions lately, but tonight I counted 8 slithers of chicken in my chow mein. No other vegetables except bean sprouts and excessive onions to pack it out. Other dish ordered was crispy chicken, very low on meat portion also. Mixed starter arrived in a brown cardboard box rather than the usual polystyrene, so prawn toast and spring rolls were soggy. Will be trying somewhere else out in future.

What's the opposite of delicious?

Lovely food and lovely service . I LOVE the salt and pepper tofu and salt and pepper chips ..as a vegan I’m impressed to see that tofu is on the menu! It means that me and my boyfriend can eat from the same takeaway and both get exactly what we want . It is on the pricier side but I would rather pay more for a Chinese that I know is going to be spot on every time .

After trying this place for the first time I was not disappointed. The food was amazing,great portions,red hot,really flavoursome. They also do alot of dishes not done by other takeaways. Will definitely order again ❤️❤️

Place is a total dive!!!! Chicken foo yung was dripping with grease and my fried rice was stuck together, Probably due to the fact they didn’t arrive until 2 hours after phone call. 2 of my ribs looked like someone had already eaten it!?!?

After watching the hilarious video review we thought we would give this place a try and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and hot and arrived earlier than expected. We will definitely be ordering again soon. Iv found my new favourite place.

Ordered the deluxe munch box. Food was okay...though I wouldn't say its value for money in my opinion. The egg fried rice was very bland and stale. Please note I wouldn't want a replacement ..just don't serve it that way in the first place.

What a great find. The food was amazing. Delivery was within the hour. I called after 55 mins because I always order when I'm already hungry and then clock watch whilst my stomach grumbles away in hunger until the food arrives. They were so friendly and then food arrived 2 mins anyways. And boy did it arrive. The food was still piping hot, like this takeaway was round the corner not 3 miles away. The chow mein was best I've ever had. To be honest eerything was so delicious. I can't wait to order from them again. What a gem. 10/10 (Sadly no photos as food was literally hoovered)

"Ordered from here because our Chinese was closed. Frankly to say that the standard of the food here is below par and the price you pay for what you get is frankly extortion. Food was cold when it arrived, the chips were scrappy little things which were undercooked. The crispy beef was smaller than any I have had anywhere else. Around 10 prawn crackers for £2.50. 25p each! The fried rice tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The ribs were good but again only got 5 small ones. We paid over £30.00 for this. Fair to say I will not be ordering from here again. I know it's more on just eat but for what I got here I wouldn't have expected to pay more than £15.00. I have had £7.50 dinner boxes with only slightly less in it than this entire meal from other restaurants. I hear the owner likes to slam bad reviews but frankly it needs to be better value for money we felt ripped off when we saw what we got!"

Decided to try Oriental Express after reading some good reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was hot and delicious.

Really, really disappointed... The first time we ordered from here it was lovely, but this time we ordered a munch box and a chicken balls box and it couldn't have been any worse. Both were absolutely dripping wet. EVERYTHING apart from the 2 sauces was cold and practically inedible. Waited over a hour and chucked £30 in the bin!!

Absolutely vile. Will never order again from here. 'Deluxe box' arrived in dirty soggy cardboard box, never seen food like it. Mushy, COLD and inedible to be honest. Decided on a treat for daughter and I after a rubbish few weeks and that turned up so we've been left really disappointed. Going by the reviews we expected more, maybe we were just unlucky this evening. I understand it's a Saturday night so extremely busy but theres no excuse for food like that. Binned and £30 wasted.

It is the best local takeaway, I order every Tuesday and Thursday, love their deluxe munch box and chicken curry. Yummy !!!

Tasteless mush apart from spare ribs

We have used Oriental Express for years and years and have never failed to impress. You see petty negative reviews now and again but please don’t ever let them put you off. You will never see any business work harder than Alice and her team to provide excellent service and food. A star rating all the way.

Friendly quick takeaway service. I'm a fan of the Singapore vermicelli chow mein dish. The portion size was ideal. Takes card payments too.
