DON'T judge this book by its cover! It has the most basic shopfront, reminiscent of the early Chinese takeaways in the 1970s - but the food is brilliant and the price is reasonable. My main course was a crispy shredded beef and Chili sauce and I asked for extra crispy. How many times you order something like this and what you get is a soggy mess that takes half an hour to chew... this one was absolute perfection perfectly crisp beef chilli sauce that wasn't too thick and wasn't too sweet. I'm looking forward to coming back again 👍

We have been overcharged £12 by ordering in Just Eat, I will not do that again. I’ll order directly as usual as much cheaper

I requested some chillies to the sweet and sour, requested 30p extra. Beef in black bean sauce was over salted. For an order of £60, asking 30p extra for moat probably 1 or 2 chillies to be cut was difficult to comprehend. The beef was inedible due to the salt. we have ordered many times before, and left a 5 star rating. on this occasion though totally underwhelmed and potentially try a different establishment after so many years.

Just got a take away collection order sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice it was horrible the rice was soaked in sauce like its a soup and the chicken was chewey and way undercooked its put me off Chinese food for a while do not order from here its terrible for £10.45 i expected better

A real local neighbourhood gem, the food has been consistently great for many years now. The service is top notch and they are happy to make recommendations and will even cater to any reasonable requests.

Great little takeaway, no sit down dinning so grab and go. Have been going here for years. They make the majority of their sauces hence are able to offer no msg options which is great. Their house special noodles is my go to and would recommend. Their sweet and sour pork/chicken is on point.. not sickening sweet like some outlets. The portions are still good for the price Q4 23. Great service..

Hot quick and decent portions. Chicken & sweetcorn soup was delicious! Rice was ok but a bit greasy Spring rolls were nice apparently Sweet and sour chicken balls were ok bit over fried. Bbq ribs were awful! Sauce was salty, sweet and ribs incredibly tough. Lots of MSG in the ribs. I would use them again but not order ribs. Definitely have the soup

The delivery was well over i hour late as the driver could not find the address. As a consequence once it was delivered the food was lukewarm. I rang several times to find out when the food was coming and they said that the driver was new. The staff at the takeaway seemed genuine and did apologies profusely for the delay. Maybe it was a one off!!

The house special fried rice was just boiled rice and boiled vegetables dumped on top with no seasoning. This made the rice all mushy and tasteless.The sweet and sour chicken balls were fried chicken dumplings . The squid was inedible just mashed up gunk .

We order from this restaurant regularly. The food is always excellent, often delivered early and the restaurant has always been very good about any changes we have phoned up about.

Been ordering last few months been really nice then went 30 percent more expensive thought ok nice food and today food was below average noodles looked raw pure white never again

The good wasn’t tasty. Not what we expected

Ordered the meal for 2 but unfortunately the food wasn’t very hot. Chicken balls had a very thick rock hard texture, tasteless and the chicken was similar. Rice was hard-clearly reheated so when it cooled down all you could taste was the plastic it came in. Beef and black bean sauce was a also strange, very watery and rubber textured meat. Threw out the entire meal after a few bites. If I wanted microwaved food I’d go to the grocery store...it’s better than this.

Crispy beef was not in anyway as good as it has been in the past, as it hardly had any sauce which mean it didn’t have any flavour. I called the orient express and asked if they could deliver some sauce, they said I should have asked for extra, I said normally I don’t need extra because it comes in good tasty shape. I asked again and they said we are very busy so we can’t deliver the sauce, if you want it you will have to come and get it. Kind of defeats the object about having a takeaway delivered after a hard days work. And would this happen if you were in a normal restaurant, waiter comes to the table and you ask for more sauce, waiter says no due to them being busy but you are more than welcome to go to the restaurant kitchen and get it yourself. I was then told that I could get a free crispy beef the next time when I order, I think they didn’t quite understand my current dinner is meeting the expect standards I’m used to from them and I am not happy. They were not willing to make my dinner the way I was hoping and normally have so I left the conversation that I would order from them again, to which they didn’t appear to be that bothered about. Shame as they had a good run, but poor food and then poor customer service just let them down big time

Shredded chilli beef was great and really crispy! Also loved the chicken in ginger and the prawn rolls. Really tasty stuff. Thankyou!

Strange food. Some of is fairly good, then other dishes are inedible. I won't buy from here again as I'm suspicious of the meat quality.

The food was awful, the chicken was like slimy gristle. Even my husband left his & he eats anything! I threw all 4 dishes away, what a waste.

The intercom at my flat wasn’t working but rather than call me straight away the driver decided to wait ten minutes hoping I would psychically know he was waiting outside. When he finally did call he was rude and aggressive. Will not use again

Great food as always. Portion sizes seem to keep diminishing however, what was one container full previously is now roughly three quarters.

Just got our 1st take away from here, very simple crab and sweetcorn soup, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken balls. Absolutely horrible. The soup was mostly MG with fish sticks, very odd and tasteless, the rice was brown and dry and the balls contained a bit of salty, stringy chicken and loads of oily dough. Never again!

Food was good, but a little too fried. It also wasn't clear that the rice wouldn't be in a different container so we felt a bit short-changed when it was mixed with the curry.

Initially I requested the dishes to be made spicy and was called by the restaurant telling me it would cost 0.20p per dish (?! Never had that before!) I’ve ordered from them before and food was good but this time it was awful. The duck was too sweet. The other dishes were too salty. I vomited straight after eating the food. The ribs were very dry, the prawn toast very greasy. Definitely would not order from them again and DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Food poor quality very small portions ribs were hard satay didn't taste of satay sauce sweet and sour sauce more like vinegar. Wouldn't order again will stay with Good chef.

Sorry to say the food was dreadful. Greasy, rubbery, weird tasting prawn crackers, revolting pork balls - leathery and doughy, deep fried salt and pepper squid were luke warm and came with "out of the bottle" sweet chilli sauce. King prawn butterfly were hard and inedible. Rice and veg were fine. Probably should have complained but will give it to the crows tomorrow and wish them luck!

Super. Clean, tasty food. Had a big selection. Nothing bland. Everything had variety in taste. Will definitely go again.

Food arrived quickly and most dishes were pretty good. Chicken balls were slightly tough though. Requested no mushrooms in dishes but still got mushrooms. Maybe a breakdown in communication.

We love the food here. Delicious and so far delivered earlier then stated. The guy who delivers it is lovely. Nice to have food delivered with a cheerful smile even in the cold weather.

Chicken is low quality and freezer burnt.

My usual restaurant is closed so tried this one today. Food quality not the worst ever. But the delivery was painful. The driver refused to bring the food to my door and kept ringing me to come downstairs to collect it. As I come downstairs there are TWO grown-up men in the car and it's UNBELIEVABLE that the passenger couldn't be bothered. Lazy, I'm the customer!!!

Driver couldn't find us, food OK duck was the good but no free prawn crackers that we supposed to be for our order size or they gave us free and still charged us for the ones we added to order.as extra. little disappointing

Fantastic service - I needed to ensure a couple of dishes were gluten free for my son and they were more than happy to oblige. They even called back to check on the other dishes as they were concerned that some of my other order had non gf-free items. I was really impressed with the service. And the food was delicious. Delicious food, spot on with delivery times

Good came more than 30min late and missing an item, never ordering from this place again... The person that answered our call tried to be very useful but she seemed to be completely lost also.

A disappointment from start to finish. Naturally, we started with our (free) prawn crackers before we sat down to eat - they were soggy, chewy, and definitely old. Our starters: prawn toast and spring rolls. The prawn toast wasn’t what you’d normally receive from a Chinese takeaway, it was about two inches thick, and consisted mostly of egg - or at least tasted eggy. And burnt edges of toast. Although the spring roll filling was delicious, they were positively over cooked and somehow also soggy. By this point we were praying for our mains to be good: The beef in black bean sauce was really lovely, can’t fault it! The plain chow mein and egg fried rice were absolutely average, didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. But our chicken balls were awful - undercooked chicken, suffocated by thick, dry and hard bread. The sweet and sour sauce was again just average, and the curry sauce would have been nice, if it hadn’t been watered down. The service was really quick, which we were so happy about, but it’s clear that they skipped on quality for a speedy cook and deliver time.

Food arrived hot and on time, delivery driver was very nice but unfortunately that’s where the positives end with this place. Food was not good, chicken and beef were both hard like they were old, noodles were very oils and spring rolls were soggy inside. Rice and seaweed were both fine, not great but certainly edible. Overall wont be ordering from here again but not the worst in the area that’s for sure.

They charged me £1.20 extra for serving the rice in a separate container. Basically, paid extra for a plastic box. Nevertheless, wasn’t worth it at all as spring rolls were too salty and went in the bin. Butterfly prawns too dry. Beef in black bean sauce with mushy overcooked veggies. Not worth the money
