Oriental Chef in Amber Valley

1st time trying this place. There was Not a lot of flavour in sweet and sour chicken and prawns and lots of onion square peices mixed in. The salt and chili crispy chicken was hard and not the best but the dogs crunched them up.

Wasn't the best at all first time trying it. I normally live special fried rice wasn't good and chips soggy chicken balls wasn't rate nice neither. Glad iv try it tho

I'm sorry, I'm not satisfied with their service attitude.

Very poor food. Took over 2 hours to deliver and food was cold. Went straight in the bin as was inedible. Would avoid this place.

Food arrived 1 & half hours after ordering It was cold. Chicken not cooked properly. Rice was awful . Will never go there again. Really would not recommend ‼️

Had several meals since moving to Swanwick always good food

After 10 years of ordering from here it's time to find another takeaway. Waiting 1 hour 40 minutes is just not good enough. Ever since Food Hub have took over the ordering it's gone seriously down hill. Very disappointing.

I use this Chinese on a bi-monthly basis. Last night I purchased 2 meals, one being a chicken curry. Within 2 hours of eating the meal I was over the toilet being sick. Not sure why, as I always get a chicken curry but last night's meal was not good. With it being chicken I wanted to raise this issue.

Only went there once and had special chow mein for me and the wife. Wife tried it but did not finish and the rest went on the bin. Had a lot better.

Not the best special Chou mein I have ever had and the large pancake roll was soggy. Would I go back? No.

Set up for collect and was ready within 30 mins and the service was great but once we started eating there was a horrible taste of soap in the chow mein and near tasteless food, the chips and chicken balls were good but the rice had an odd texture. Very disappointed with the food. We used to order very frequently from the takeaway a few years back but it seems to have gone downhill. Put in a large order of food for a party and all were disappointed. Will not be ordering again.

Excellent food. Quickly processed after ordering at counter. Good value. Parking somewhat limited but you can order online or via phone to shorten wait.

Always used this establishment however after tonight I certainly won't be again. Ordered food at 6 told 1 - 1 and a quarter hrs. After waiting till 7.40 I rang back to be told another 25 minutes!!! 40 minutes later still no food I rang again and this time spoke to a manager who blatantly lied to me and said the girl was new and my food was on the way. It eventually arrived 10 minutes short of 3 hrs and then wasn't overly warm either. Disgusting and I will not be spending my money here AGAIN !!!!

Best Chinese in the area by far, staff are all really friendly and the food is lovely - I don't understand how this place has any bad reviews as it has always been 10/10 everytime we have been!

Ordered for delivery and of course you have to wait anyways, the food was 10/10, I have ate here for many years and recently the food has dropped quality but this Chinese we ordered was back up at the top, hopefully it stays like this, highly recommend, good service over the phone aswell :)

Walked in off the street, ordered and received a delicious takeaway 10 minutes later. Large portions, hot and fresh. The Chop Kam Chow Mein was especially good. Will return.

If I had flown to China to get the food I would have still been back before my order was ready from here. Food was lovely, just got to wait for them to grow the veg before serving it you.

Ordered for collection via the online service offered, very user friendly and great system - so much better than attempting to get through their busy phone line. Food did NOT disappoint one bit, hot and sour soup was outstanding along with the salt & chilli chicken and crispy beef (long time favourite dishes from this particular takeaway). Generous portion sizes and no issue with the price of dishes. I feel the negative reviews reflect the off days that the business have (god forbid they don’t get it 100% all the time, anyone would think they are only human). I will continue to support this fantastic establishment, keep up the great work!

If I had read that the ownership had changed since I moved out of swanwick. I wouldn't have ordered from here as the bar WAS such a high standard. Food quality has dropped unfortunately. The food came on time and was still hot. However my favourite dishes I was so looking forward to ended up letting me down. Not the worse food dont let 1 stars make out its horrendous because it's not just so many people loved this place for its quality and they like myself now feel let down.

Do you inform your delivery drivers that the orders are paid for ? Steak was not well done red inside black pepper sauce was just gravy with pepper in will not be ordering from Here again

The new owners are doing a fantastic job, the food we have had delivered has been exceptional...it went downhill for a while but now it's the best again...well done...

Overpriced and terrible service, this establishment used to deliver high quality food. Unfortunately under new ownership it is clear they no longer share the same passion as their predecessors. The food arrived 30 minutes late, cold and not what I ordered. If you want a good Chinese then look elsewhere

Used to come here years ago, it was always amazing. Recent reviews nearly put me off coming again but we went for it anyway.. and it’s still amazing. We didn’t find the food tasteless, it was really nice. So I’d still recommend for sure!

This Chinese has gone down since the new owners took over. I have experienced waiting to be served for 15 minutes even when I shouted for assistance, also waiting between 30 and 45 minutes for food that used to take the old owners between 5 and 10 minutes. Quite frankly this is disappointing as that has been my local Chinese for many years now and the nearest Chinese that is as good as it used to be is in loscoe. Also the delivery need to learn how to drive and how to park. They shouldn't be parking on the pavements.

It was okay, no problem. A little pricey, £6 for chow mein but was okay, would use again.

Once worked here 1995 till 1998 choi li is a real good guy he helped me to find a pathway in my life. ..food is very tasty and packaging good im very gratefull to mr li. ray rich and lawrence and mrs li.your cleanliness and hospitallity is great..try the omelettes or steaks youll enjoy...
