I am afraid a very poor offering. Most of the food from tonight is either going in the dog, down the loo or put out in the fields for the creatures of the night. Yuk sung was devoid of flavour or seasoning, chicken wings in salt and chilli were dried out served with completely raw green peppers and raw onions and small slivers of chilli. Nothing had seen the inside of the wok and was inedible. Beef in black bean sauce, beef was ok but the sauce was so thin and weak. I have had infinitely stronger flavours from the supermarket!! Sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style was very thin slices of chicken in batter - little chicken as a consequence with no seasoning. Best by far were the fried noodles which I nevertheless doctored with my own dark soy sauce. Sadly, as I like to support local businesses, I will not be returning.

Used to love this place. Until tonight. Food was good. However we ordered our usual plus couple extra bits as the kids were having a takeaway with us tonight. They told me it was 51.70 over the phone. I thought this was a bit high for what we ordered. But then the prices are high everywhere. Food arrived just under an hour, which is good. But they had forgotten the spare ribs. I called them up and they proceeded to tell me I hadn't ordered any. I did and they even read the order back to me. They said they would get someone to bring them out but I would need to pay extra on top of the 51.70 I had already paid. I decided to check the menu and pricing. Well it seems either they have put their prices right up or their menus are completely out of date, as when I totalled up the food we had, plus the spare ribs it came to 46.60, 5.10 difference to what they charged me. And yet they wanted me to pay even more. The manager himself delivered the spare ribs. I advised him of the above. He decided to call the shop and proceed to speak to her in their native tongue. Whilst this was happening my food and the additional ribs were going cold. Advised I'm not paying any extra as there is no way we had almost 60.00 worth of food and that we won't be using them again. Please check the prices before you order as they were trying to charge me almost 11.00 more than what their menus state.

First time ordering from this place and will definitely return the next time I'm back in Atherstone and feeling like chinese. Service was very fast and the owners even threw in some freebies that were much appreciated.

The prawn crackers were soft. Put them in the oven to crisp. Ordered the set meal for 2. The sweet & sour prawns batter was soggy. The rice tasted of burnt oil. Awful meal.

Excellent. This has to be the best one for miles. Also they have joes black gravy recipe from happy gathering. Really friendly staff too. You 100% have my custom when im in the area. Im really looking forward to my leftovers for lunch.

Why is it that Chinese takeaways always serve reheated chips and this place is no exception. Meals always ruined by reheated chips. No matter how much you ask for fresh chips you won't get them. Other food OK not brilliant. Prices seem to go up weekly. Very dissapointed.

First time ordering from this establishment and it won’t be my last. The food was superb, I ordered the chicken in black bean and garlic sauce and it was so flavourful. My dad had the vegetable curry which he said was also excellent. Quick service, lovely food.

The sweet and sour prawns had runny vinegary sauce. Overcooked tough prawns in soggy batter. Prawn crackers soggy too. Curry was runny,and bitter

The only Chinese takeaway we have used consistently since moving from Birmingham 12 years ago and very few complaints during this time. However, ordered a birthday treat today (£21 worth) and sadly most ended up in the bin: Chicken fried rice usually means you should fry the rice not boil it to death. Adding an appropriate amount of vegetable helps - 5 peas in a whole main course carton? not appropriate. Chicken fried rice also usually implies something with chicken in it and yes, we did find some however not an amount to justify the hefty price tag. The salt and chilli chicken appeared to have dropped the chilli from the end of it's name - I'm not a great fan of a strong chilli taste but this tasted of nothing including strangely not even garlic or soy. Basically dry chicken in chewy, hard batter (suppose at least there was something fried!). The additional Peking sauce ordered as an accompaniment to the rice, very strange colour and again no taste - not an ounce of chilli or any other ingredient recognisable as a taste of the orient. Needless to say very disappointing for a birthday treat and not one will be repeating in a hurry. Folks, we've been coming to you for years - bring back your usual chef PLEASE!

The best chinese food in the area in my opinion. I've been using Oriental Chef for a few years since 2014 when I moved out from Birmingham - they have never disappointed and always deliver hot freshly cooked food when they say they will. Last nights meal was exceptionally good and worth every penny.

I ordered a meal with 3 starters, mains and egg fried rice, and collected it within 20 mins. The meal is probably the finest Chinese food I have ever eaten, and we were given a complimentary dish, fortune cookies and prawn crackers. Sheer quality, and I can't praise the Oriental Chef highly enough. SPG

Got my order wrong even though I wrote it down for them. Good for Curry and Chips. Rice is terrible, Cantonese dishes poor and expensive for the little amount you get. Ordered prawn, got Chicken and it was very poor.

I had a take away 29 August,pork with egg fried rice,the pork tasted like cardboard and was over cooked and the rice was dark brown. Will not go back.

Ive tried alot of take aways & I think this is the best Chinese take away around. I've been a regular customer for many years. Excellent quality food and friendly staff It get strong 5***** from me

Rude & unhelpful - the young woman taking orders at this take away, overheard on speaker phone by our whole group. Unusual, as we’ve previously had really lovely customer service here. Food good though and swift delivery for a busy Friday evening. After the rudeness tonight, we won’t return.

We were so looking forward to this food after coming back from our holidays, The crispy duck was overdone and very dry the pork dish we had was tough and the Singapore fried rice was disgusting overall it was rubbish and expensive.

Food is good but there is no website or menu I can access online, its 2019, wake up.

Best of the few Chinese available in Atherstone, not the best in the larger surrounding area however, but ok if you want a fast takeaway.

Sadly the quality of food in this takeaway has sadly gone downhill in the last few years and doesn't seem to be getting any better. We thought the would give it another go but regret it. Food was very bland and was not tasty at all. Such a shame as 20 years ago (same owners) this was the best Chinese in town.

**Updated review** Food remains fantastic but the past two times we have ordered the food has been very late. Quoted 45 minutes, actually 85 minutes on the first occasion, quoted 45 minutes, actually 70 minutes on the second occasion (A weekday evening) I had to phone them to see where the food was, had they called me to let me know it was late, I would of been happier. I will give them another try, if delivery times are back to quoted times, I will revise the star rating as the food itself is excellent and the staff are very friendly. **Original review** Best chinese in Atherstone!! Chicken curry excellent. Ribs terrible. It used to be great but it's a bit hit and miss now. I think they are trying to cut back on the amount of meat in the dishes.

We moved to Atherstone in August, and part of my everyday life and well being requirement is to have a decent chinese takeaway. I read this was the best takeaway in town and sorry to say this is a very average takeaway with sky high prices for the quality you get. there is only one decent Chinese takeaway in atherstone after trying them all this one would generally be my 2nd choice too much salt used, and sauces taste like treacle, they seem to have lost sight of great fresh ingredients and sauces and kowtowed to the few brits who just want sweet and sour balls

Always a delicious meal from this takeaway. Clean premises with friendly staff who remember your voice on the phone when ordering. The meal for one does really feed Two - well. Excellent value and comprehensive menu.

Food always fresh,clean and tases like what you order rather than some basic tasting gooey mess that some of the other places in town serve. I tried the beef chow mein for first time and was amazed at how many tasty tender chunks of beef it had mixed in with the noodles. Not sure how they do it,but beef tasted like a good barbequed steak that melted in my mouth. Crispy chicken with salt and chilli as fantastc as usual and my clear favourite. Crispy beef also as good as ever and Wondering Dragon was packed with big chunks of everything in an amazing garlicky sauce. Best of the rest in town by far.

Thank you to the Chinese chef/owner? who I had a great chat with about food and life in England. The black bean chicken was better than i expected. Very fresh, beautifully cooked AND i'm a bit of an Asian food snob ;) I would definitely eat here again.

Very disappointing! The duck was dry and so crispy it actually chipped the corner off my front tooth no word of a lie! The spring onion didn't exist it was raw onion in massive slices the cucumber was also very dry the BBQ sauce had no flavour and was a thick gloopy slime the prawn crackers were thin and tasted of pure grease overall shocking! Good chips tho! Definitely wouldnt recommend!

Our favourite takeaway, lovely fresh food and the staff are friendly too! They offer home delivery with realistic delivery times and always welcome feedback and do their best to remedy any problems!

Our go to Take away when in the area. there are many Chinese restaurants in Atherstone but this is my favorite!

Always use Oriental Chef as they deliver. The meals are always hot and delicious. We change green peppers to mushrooms and it is never a problem for them. Great service and delivery.

I always use Oriental chef because of it being so close to where I live ( Just opposite ) so it is very convenient for me as all I have to do is step out of the front door cross the road and I'm there I love their curry sauce and since I can't find a sauce that tastes the same I'll often just go in there to purchase a tub of it to poor all over my home-made chips . It is reasonable value for money and I don't do it too often , they have a great selection on the menu and it always tastes so amazing and fresh It takes great control and will power to resist it every time I walk past and Atherstone has three other Chinese's in the area and I always go to this one.

El suelo está roto y podría hacer con tener que reemplazó con algo menos peligrosos.Aparte de eso, que producen buena comida, ofrecen esta en un sitio de precio, como uno de los mejores 3 chinos más caras comida para llevar en Atherstone.

Nos hicimos un pedido para la entrega y hablé con una señora muy agradable que comprendieron nuestro pedido claramente y recomienda la comida llega en 30 minutos, cosa que hizo.
