We visited this rather ramshackle cafe in December 19 in the high Street in Llangefni after a long walk in the Dingle. I was in need of a poo and couldn't wait any longer to curl one down. The owner seemed a bit up himself pointing out that his precious loo was for customers only. I sat my good lady down whilst I made my excuses and headed south. He hovered round the table until she felt obliged to order a couple of ham sarnies, some Abra Braith and a pot of tea each. I returned somewhat lighter and we engaged in small talk wondering if we might make the door before "Basil" returned. He must have caught our drift and promptly returned to give us his life history and that of his family. To say we were bored to tears was an under statement. He was constantly name dropping and I think he said he was head Butler to the Queen. There was CCTV everywhere, as if we were on one of those reality TV shows, I half expected Michael Myers to appear with our sarnies next! Our snack appeared just in the nick of time before I committed Hari Kari with a soup spoon. The grub was not too bad actually, well it's hard to f**k up a Ham sarnie isn't it! We asked for the bill, £23.00!!! Blimey, I could have eaten in the Ritz for less! I asked him how he could possibly keep his establishment running when only charging £20 for a ham sarnie. He didn't look too impressed I must say as we headed out of the door.

From the creepy Undertaker that greeted us to the dirty cutlery and floor, this so called Tearoom is an unmitigated disaster zone. Avoid at all costs as the prices are through the roof and most of the food is off the menu. Should be closed ASAP as unfit for service which by the way was non existent. How can the Council have given this a clean bill of health ?? Words fail us.

Was looking for a quick coffee before attending a meeting so called here. Firstly the way in was barred by lines of chairs. We were just about to turn round and leave when a young man moved two chairs to let us in. How we wish we had turned round. On entering there was a strong smell of damp. The elderly gentleman, who looked like something from the Adams Family, immediately welcomed us so we sat down. All the tables were fully laid with every possible piece of cutlery, crockery, etc including cake stands. We asked for coffee but there was no choice of coffee. The menu seemed to describe everything as "nice". The gentleman kept telling us that we could have plenty of nice coffee. Despite the way the tables were laid there was no menu for afternoon tea or even cakes. The only food on offer was sandwiches on "nice" bread but no price list. The coffee arrived in a "silver" pot. It was really strong. Unfortunately there was so little space on the table because of all the cutlery and crockery that I accidentally knocked over the sugar bowl. When I bent down to pick the cubes off the floor I was horrified to see the floor was filthy dirty. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. How on earth does a place like that keep its licence? It was really a weird experience and we certainly wouldn't ever go back. No wonder we were he only people there. Would DEFINITELY not recommend this place.

Once again, we had a real treat today - we visited Oriel Daniel Gallery and Tearoom in Llangefni. We were met with a true Welsh welcome by the owner and were delighted to see a wonderful collection of art by his son, Rhys G. Morris B.A. (Hons)on display. His work is truly impressive and captures the intricacy of local historical architecture. Over very welcome refreshments, we also observed some delightful portraiture.

Visited this Tearoom recently while in Anglesey, was a nice enough place some of the tables were set out with cutlery etc, and others were strewn with paperwork, (like an office) we were greeted cordially enough by the proprieter. ...nice bloke. Ordered ham sandwiches and coffee for two...couldn't see a price list anywhere. The food apparently had to be sent out for and, to my knowledge was not made on the premises.....rather strange, I thought.. Anyway, to cut a long story short, our order arrived rather too promptly for it to have been made there and then. Two slices of brown bread with ham, a few crisps and a pot of coffee for two....nice enough....but when we received the bill, we were flabbergasted..... £20!!!!! We could have gone to a restaurant and had a meal each for that!! We definitely won't be patronising this place again in a hurry!!! 😡

I'm sad to say that our experience today wasn't a great one. We were welcomed in and told that they had been busy and would get some hot water on. They had been having trouble with the water. The gentleman was putting his long black coat on and had a bowler hat nearby. Not really a hygienic outfit for a food establishment. We tried to order scones but they had none but they did have Bara brith. My friend asked for a sandwich but was told there were no sandwiches but they had Bara brith. I was mightily relieved as I had noticed stained napkins and a dirty windowsill in the big bay window. Lots of ornaments in the cafe including the tables making it very cluttered. I felt quite uncomfortable in there and was glad when we were able to leave due to no actual menu choice - except Bara Brith! We will not be returning.

It’s always a bad sign when you ask the locals the best place for a sandwich and a cup of tea and they say Asda! What a shame we didn’t take their advice. We ended up in Daniels on a miserable day in Llangefni. I was attracted to the pretty China and old fashioned silver tea & coffee pots, they reminded me of my gran so thought it would be a novelty. First thoughts were that sandwiches were over priced at £9.95 however we were told consistently that all produce was organic. Now as a farmers daughter I don’t buy into the whole organic hype but it seemed very important to the owner as he to,d us at every opportunity. I asked for a scone but was told there wasn’t any, or any Victoria sandwich cake. My husband asked for a cheese sandwich and I opted for egg mayo. My husband was served but told that there were no crisps or side salad that day so there would be a reduction, he was actually finished his sandwich by the time mine came and that’s when things went completely down hill! The egg had obviously just been boiled and was soft to the point of runny, still warm and then mixed with the mayo. I took one look and knew I wouldn’t manage. I said very nicely that I was sorry but as the egg was clearly soft boiled I wouldn’t be able to eat it. As soon as I said this, the owner was clearly offended, opened the door and said “right, drink up and leave”. I was literally shown the door! I was extremely shocked, got up to pay for my husbands sandwich and our tea and coffee but was dismissed out of the cafe with the owner saying he didn’t want paid. He couldn’t get rid of us fast enough. Now, I fully expect a character assassination following my review, as I can see that as soon as anyone posts a negative comment, they are subject to all kinds of rude remarks. Well Mr Morris, I know what I was served, and I’m giving a very truthful review, no doubt you will say we won’t be welcomed back. Trust me, nothing on earth would persuade me to go back to Llangefni or Daniels tea rooms.

Sadly time didn't allow us to stay and have something to eat but it all looked really lovely. Happy to recommend this unique tearoom .

Whilst in Llangefni we were seeking a “dog friendly” establishment where my partner and I could enjoy a drink and food. We found this fantastic tea room and were warmly greeted and welcomed to the establishment. Prior to being served the gentleman adorned his long coat to ensure he was appropriately attired to offer his services, regarding our requirements and ensuring that both humans and canines enjoyed the same service. The refreshments of cream tea for two were delightful, scone homemade by the gentleman’s son, who’s magnificent art also adorned the walls. His knowledge of the area and the opportunity to enjoy the tales of his childhood days around Plas Newydd were for us very refreshing and a privilege to listen to. If you have the opportunity to visit this great little tearoom I would highly recommend this wonderful experience, it is a reminder of that etiquette, high tea and dining is an event, and not what we may be accustomed to which is fast food and take aways, well done to this great little venue for the reminder!!!

We were greeted at the door by the butler, our first impression was of a quaint little tea room with all the tables set with matching crockery, full settings of cutlery along with other bits and pieces of tableware. We were advised to look through the menu and check out the prices which are above average - £9.95 for a sandwich, £4.50 for a slice of Victoria sandwich, £5.95 for a scone with jam and clotted cream - we were told ingredients used are organic. We were not concerned with the cost but settled on ordering just tea for two as we had noticed the standards of cleanliness did not appear good. The butlers Waistcoat was dirty and stained, he wiped dirty marks off the cake stand whilst we were ordering and also off the tea pot as he was bringing it to the table. The tea room also appears cluttered and untidy. He bizarrely turned customers away as they had a pushchair and it would cause a trip hazard. The tea room advertises a disabled toilet but if it can’t accommodate a pushchair how could a wheelchair user be welcomed? Once our tea was served, the door was locked! Presumably to prevent us from leaving without paying. We were made to feel pretty uncomfortable during our brief stay and would not return for a second visit. After reading the owners replies to previous negative comments I think we wouldn’t be welcomed anyway. His CCTV know’s who we are!!! The only positive comment is that the organic tea served with organic milk was good.

There are many reasons to spend time in Daniels. The home baked cakes and scones. The captivating art work on the walls. The clothed tables bedecked with fine china and highly polished silverware. The proud boast of mine host that most everything served is local and organic but most of all the reasons to visit is Daniel, owner, host and charming raconteur. Descendant of a30 year service butler to the Marquis of Anglesey he is a mine of charming anecdotes. A visit to Daniels is not to be missed.

This was a delightful visit when we were met by Maurice, fully attired in formal dress complete with bowler hat - quite the part. He was most entertaining and informative. The venue was delightfully set out as a Victorian tea room, with lovely tableware. Oddly, the only things missing were table napkins. Whether this was just a one-off oversight we know not, but we were so enjoying ourselves we could not bring ourselves to ask!! Maurice is obviously very proud of his past association with the local stately home (Plas Newydd) about which he was able to inform us in some detail. Needless to say a visit there followed. We met his son too, and both made us feel very special.Oh! Must not forget, the tea was lovely and plentiful and the food excellent.

Called in for some lunch in April and wish we could have just walked back out. Lovely set up on the tables. Very little choice on the menu, although to be fair the sandwich that we ordered was actually nice (once I had removed the piece of plastic from my salad). We braved it and ordered their home made scones for a dessert. These were taken out of the freezer and microwaved before serving, so although they tasted ok, they were rubbery in texture. The butter looked like it had come from the freezer too as it was a very strange consistency and the clotted cream was really odd and possibly also frozen and microwaved. How we didn't end up with food poisoning is beyond me. When we asked to use the toilet, we were directed out of the shop and into a back alley into a toilet that also seemed to double up as their store room. Didn't seem clean or hygienic at all. We were the only customers in and I am not surprised. The locals walking past looked surprised that there was anyone in there at all. The waitress herself told us that locals don't eat in there. And I don't blame them!!!
