We popped in as we were a bit early for a Poole Harbour cruise. Oriel was busy but this didn't affect the immediate attention and warm welcome we received from all the staff. We both had the homemade fish finger baguette - hot and yummy, delicious

A web search before visiting Poole identified the Oriel on the Quay as a place for lunch. Having arrived and been welcomed by Helene, we were offered a choice of table in a bright and airy area. One instantly felt the visit would be a pleasant event. Drinks ordered with suggestions from Helene which proved to be an excellent Choice. The menu has sufficient choice to accommodate requirements. I had mussels which were superb followed by sea bass. The Bass was the biggest portion I have ever had served, two full fillets cooked so the skin was crispy and tasted fabulous. The restaurant was not busy at 13:45 but the professional manner suggested that a busy period would not generate any issues. I certainly recommend this restaurant having satisfied all my tests, Atmosphere, service, repour, food quality, and cost. As it all comes together, it is certainly my "Place to go" next time I visit Poole. Helene's manner certainly went to make the lunch a memorable event in the best possible way.

This is such a lovely restaurant. Gorgeous decor, really varied menu with something for everyone. Helene is a real gem, such great service from a really lovely lady. She even offered to take a family photo. I would recommend this place to anyone. I’ll certainly go back next time in in Poole.

We booked for 10 of us for Mother’s Day, and I can’t rate this place highly enough! The food was fantastic, the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming and the staff were exceptional, special shout out to Shannon who was an absolute gem! Will recommend to all my family and friends and most definitely will be back again soon

Its been a while since I reviewed Oriel and I am pleased to report that they are still exceptional, the food is good, the welcome warm and the coffee is nice, Helene did a great job of looking after us and my steak was perfect

Arrived without a reservation on a busy Sunday, and the were able to accommodate us with no problem, willingly. Super friendly staff (Helene and her team), great food (surprisingly good shrimp and smoked salmon sandwich) and not over priced. Back in a heartbeat.

Had a delicious meal at Oriel. The ambience and staff were lovely. Really pretty with murals on the walls and marble tables (some round) which is always nice. Portions and presentation were good. Good cocktails too! Would have liked to have had somewhere to put coats rather than have them in the back of our chairs - especially as mine is long and gets in the way. We just put them on the floor in a corner but would have been better to be able to hang them up. It’s a bit of a big bear of mine. Not the end of the world though. Would recommend going to families, groups and couples. Lots of choice and well priced with excellent service.

The best Italian on the quay! My partner and I have been coming here for the past year now; we bring different family/friends along each time and they all say the same that we do - food and friendliness of the staff is 5 star and very reasonably priced. Plus it’s dog friendly which is so important to us!

Our first wedding anniversary dinner. I can't rate this place high enough. The staff are fantastic, the food is to die for ! And the view is beautiful over the quay. 10/10 for me. They made it really special for us. Definitely worth a visit even if it's just for coffee and cake.

I wanted to book a table for breakfast to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday as a surprise for her. The restaurant responded to my query straight away and reserved a table by the window with a view of Poole Quay as requested. The evening before the booking, they again responded straight away when I asked for the time to be changed at short notice, which they were happy to do. Upon arrival, our table was ready and a complimentary glass of Prosecco was offered and taken up by my very happy wife!! Overall, the breakfast was lovely and very friendly service received. I would highly recommend Oriel on the Quay.

The staff and food were excellent, and you are well looked after by a professional team who want you to have an enjoyable time. The food was exceptional and reasonably priced. I booked in advance with Helene, and as it was a themed evening (French) she took the time to check we were happy with this. The atmosphere was good and welcoming.

Whilst on holiday, we went to the Oriel restaurant several times, the food is fresh, home cooked and has a great selection but what kept us coming back was how friendly the staff were, always polite and helpful. Maria was our server for 2 nights and she was an absolute delight, full of fun and attentive. Can't rate this restaurant high enough!
