Like many comments said, good staffs, terrible food. The Boba tea has no tea flavour, nor milk flavor. The tapioca pearl is not chewy as well. Pricey!

Came in to get bubbletea to takeaway. The girl serving, without asking, decided I must be a deliveroo/just eat driver and started moaning at me about takeaways etc, before even asking if I was a customer. After correction, I asked for a bubbletea. She didn't seem to know how to make it. She spent the entire time serving me, while moaning about how many hours she works. The bubble tea was awful. The tapioca pearls were stale, claggy and stodgy and tasted vinegary. It was obviously off. I didn't bother going back to complain after the terrible service to start with... took a couple of mouthfuls and launched in the bin. Absolutely foul and a waste of money.

Oppa is a lovely, small, and relaxing place to grab a quick bite to eat. That was what we did after a long hike on Sunday night. There are about 18 seats spreading over five simple wood tables. You order the food over the counter, find a seat, and they will bring you the food. We had seafood hotpot soup, steam dumplings, sesame tofu bun, and bbq pork bun. The soup was bubbling hot and went well with a bowl of brown rice. The steam dumplings were over priced and too soft. The buns were quite yummy. The total cost was 31.4 pounds. I am glad that Oppa brings Korean and Japanese flavors to St Andrews food scene. Is it authentic enough? I think so. The hotpot soup here is not much different from the ones I had in Chicago, Atlanta, and even in Seoul.

The fact that this was named “Oppa” should’ve been a turn off. The service is great! The food was incredibly whitewashed to the point that the water was the most flavorful thing on the menu. The meat is barely chewable. The soup has no taste. Please don’t call yourself a Korean/Asian restaurant. I will say the service was amazing! However, as someone of the global majority, I can only tolerate so much blandness. Thanks!

The place is small with limited seating but we managed to get a table. We ordered at the counter separately and another table ordered between us, the food ended up served in the order they were placed instead of the by table number. This would have been fine however it did take a long time to have the food arrive. Fortunately, the food was very good. The sticky pork belly bao was tasty. The cheesey hot pot was flavourful as well, really loved the shitake mushrooms. The rice was a bit of a let down, as it was rather plain despite the purple colour, but it complemented the hotpot quite well.

Got a poke bowl for lunch - salmon with 'pickled veg' and 'Asian slaw'. For £11 got to say this is the worst poke bowl I've ever had. I live in London and this is more expensive and far inferior. 'Asian slaw' was literally store bought creamy coleslaw with some sriracha style sauce added. Was expecting some kind of fresh cabbage slaw with a light dressing. Picked veg was cucumber and radish that weren't pickled in any way. The 'purple rice' was white with some wild rice, nothing purple about it. We also got some chicken dumplings which were distinctly average. And bubble tea was simply OK. I feel the only thing that could have made this food worse was if I had sat in to eat it. Totally bland atmosphere. Needless to say, won't be going back.

As a Korean living in Scotland, I can attest that this place is not a Korean restaurant, most likely named "Oppa" after a hit song Gangnam Style by Psy where the lyrics go "Oppa is of a Gangnam Style". I ordered a Jjigae (찌개) dish today for lunch with pork belly and kimchi as main ingredients but oh dear... It didn't taste anything but, not even remotely close to what I experience at home and at any decent Korean establishment. And the rice... It's long-grain basmati rice as appose to short grain sticky rice typically served with Korean dishes. It's not good when a place like this casts Korean dishes in a bad light. Avoid.

I was so excited to finally go here. As a Korean living in the UK, I love to try any Korean restaurants, and this has been on my list for a long time. I finally went yesterday and how wrong I was. - It was utter.... rubbish. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I want to give more stars to the staff but the food was really bad. This is not a Korean restaurant and shouldn't be called a Korean restaurant. The chef definitely doesn't know how to cook Korean food. I've never seen such weird recipes to deliver such quality dishes - couldn't finish and wasted my money (not reasonably priced either). I am even annoyed that this restaurant can give wrong impressions about Korean cuisine to someone who has never tried Korean dishes. As I am so proud of our own food culture and Korean dishes, I can't stand fake Korean restaurants that don't even know how to cook Bulgogi properly. Sorry, if you don't know how to cook the national dish properly, you shouldn't choose Korean cuisine as your main business.

It's not great. It looks nice from the street side but we got sucked in by that and it was very poor. The ramen stock was poor, stuff that shouldn't be there like chilli oil as a topping and tough leathery char siu with tasteless broth The bulgogi was similar think tough meat slices in a Chinese takeaway sauce unrecognisable. I was hoping for a nice place, local with passion but this was below even supermarket takeaway level.

Badly cooked. Low quality. Far too salty. Dishes served did not have all ingredients from menu. Kimchi was just coloured salty cabbage, not fermented. Rice was lumpy not fluffy, perhaps frozen then microwaved. Not Korean.

Really disappointed. The staff were lovely but the majority of the food was obviously reheated/microwaved (we could hear the microwave pings from our seat). Terribly textured and bland rice, and barely passable toppings. The fresh elements were cooked fine, but were few and far between. Also, the restaurant was freezing. Given that they charged almost £30 for two, small reheated dishes, they could probably afford to turn the heating on. Recommend looking elsewhere.

This place is expensive for you get and the quality is bad. I had a poke bowl where there were clumps of cold rice while it was meant to be hot, which I was concerned for my health. In the sun I rolls, the chilli bomb had cheap cuts of meet, barely any sauce or flavour- 10 quid for cheap meat rice and seaweed. The pork belly bao bun was just fat that was uncooked, however they did give me a char siu bao bun when I asked and this was much nicer. On top of that the place smelled bad of fat and grease.

The good: staff were lovely! The bad: the food. Sadly we could only stomach a single bite from a £20 meal. The food taste stale and unseasoned. The beef smelled old and just boiled, the rice was mushy and bland and the vegetables all taste like they were sitting at the back of the fridge for too long. The sauce taste very vinegary, like it had gone off. Very disappointing.

Korean make believe food. Frozen Chinese dumplings passed on as Korean Mando. Kimchi was not even real fermented cabbage kimchi but korean cabbage drenched in hot sauce and vingered to death (not an ingredient in any kimchi by the way.) Horrible. Embarassment to Koreans. Spat the food and left the restaurant. P.s. you pay first..

Ordered online -- very very salty! Had to water down the miso soup because it was so overpowering. Havent had this issue anywhere else. Also got pork belly jjigae and that was quite salty, but was able to cut it with the rice, which didnt seem to have any salt in it at all. Not worth the price.

I do not leave many reviews online because I never have the energy or care to do so, but this is not the case here. I have been to Oppa three times now for different things (one of few Asian places around) and I honestly do not know how they obtain 5 star reviews. The food is honestly the worst I have had and is pricey for that. Again, I'm not an expert, just a guy who loves Asian food, but my god. I paid £19 for 8 pieces (yes just 8 pieces) or sushi and it's the worst food I have ever had. Could not even eat more than two pieces. It was thick, heavy, did not melt in your mouth and fold, covered in sauce that I wanted to try but should really not belong on Sushi. Only two star cause I feel too bad to leave one.

Pricey for what it is. The ramen I ordered was quite sad. The soup was bland, the noodles were overcooked and portioned small, served with (boiled?) chicken breast with a smearing of hoisin sauce on top. Gyoza dumplings taste like they're from the Asian grocer store.
