Opa Bath in Bath and North East Somerset

We came to Opa to celebrate some food family news. We shared meat and veg feasts. Our food, our service and ambience was simply wondrous. I can't wait to come back.

I read the reviews and seem very positive for everything. So me and my bf gave it a go! What a meal! Everything is sooo good. We ordered Mediterranean dips, squid and Maze of Titans for share. I love the squids plate. Deep fried very tasty. Pita bread is so soft and nice. Grilled meat are brilliant. The lady who service our table is very lovely. We had a good time! Oh! They have 2 for 1 drink! I tried the sunset spritz. Lovely

Fantastic food, we had Greek meze and the Feast of Titans, and it was all delicious! The sausage and the spicy feta dip in particular were absolutely top notch. Also the trio of Greek cheese was amazing!

Food and service were amazing, great value as well. Super authentic and delicious. The only thing I would say is there were a few hen dos in there which the underground tunnel design made seem extremely loud and it was difficult to talk. Maybe a few acoustic panels would solve the problem :)

Was a Tuesday so not that busy but really good venue and the food and service were top notch. A little expensive but worth it.

We had a delicious meal at Opa during our stay in Bath. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and you truly feel tucked away while enjoying your food. The staff went above and beyond during service and our food tasted delicious. We especially enjoyed the Meze to share. Please don't hesitate to book this lovely Greek restaurant while visiting the area.

Appalling experience.. we were rushed from the moment we sat down. Rude staff. Terrible food. Arrogant horrible manager. Avoid at all costs .. horrible excuse of a restaurant.

Went here with my 84 year old gran and mum for our girls weekend away to Bath. Had high hopes as I love Greek food and this place had been recommended to us. From the beginning we felt we were being rushed by all the staff bar one lovely young waiter. They kept coming over pressuring us to order food and drinks. Once the starters came the mains arrived immediately after with the waiter repeatedly trying to put it down when we were still eating our starters and no space on the table. We said politely please can we wait a little then 10 mins later they returned and forced it down on the table, and hadn’t cleared away our starter plates. I’ve been a waitress in the past for the past 4 years and this is very rude and terrible service. We enjoyed our average food however the entire evening the table next to us (in a largely quiet restaurant) was a group of abusive rowdy drunken men talking very loudly / shouting at each other. We struggled to hear each other whilst they were slurring about women in a horrible manner, and the staff did nothing to amend their behaviour / were laughing and encouraging it. At the end when we spoke to the waitress and manager they were both incredibly dismissive and rude, and blamed us for being late (1 member of our table was 10 mins late because of a delayed train) and were pushing us off the table for a big booking afterwards. We had not been informed that we had to leave the table by 8pm, and were also told if we wanted a desert we had to sit at the high top bar. My elderly grandmother cannot sit at a high bar so this was utterly outrageous and offensive. A really upsetting and disappointing experience. I would recommend to avoid this Greek restaurant at all costs as I’m sure there are more pleasant Greek places elsewhere.

Really beautiful establishment and the food is incredible. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I go here as often as I can! Although pricey, the hidden away greek grotto feel is only part of the stunning atmosphere. Add to that the waterfall feature as you step in, dimmed lighting, curved roof, detailed murals, hanging flowers and flickering candles and you've got a perfect date spot. Toilets are generally clean. Food and drink are to die for. My only qualm is that sometimes you'll get a loud group which (since tables are rather close) can get overwhelming.

We booked this restaurant for our niece's hen party 2 months in advance for a table inside the restaurant. When we arrived we were shown to an outside table. It was windy and cold outside, and not the table we had a confirmed booking for. We were very disappointed to say the least. They were very unhelpful and we received no apology or consideration from the staff. They told us we would have to wait an hour and a half for a table. They were abrupt and dismissive. We left, and we will not be returning to this restaurant again.

Delightful hidden restaurant! Careful that when booking they don't always do the Aegean Adventure when they say they will! Food is very good, prices a little on the steep side for the fare.

This wasn’t quite what we expected when we booked this Greek restaurant but as there was only 20:45 available, I think we accidentally booked for the transition between evening and night time. The first 15 minutes had lovely Greek music playing but then it seemed to become a bit of a nightclub with lots of hen parties enjoying themselves. We still had a wonderful time in a beautiful environment by candlelight and lots of very delicious food.

We booked this place for dinner. The vibe of the place is amazing. It’s like a piece of Greece in the UK. The food was fabulous. Just melts in your mouth, we were really pleased by the food. I’d give a 10/10. The cocktails were delicious! Overall would visit again.

We're just arrived in Bath for a short holiday and we wanted to serve some greek food. We searched on Internet and Opa was the first option who shows up...we went, but we didn't know what to expect, especially when we saw that is underground and we have to go down the stairs. The staff was friendly from the beginning and they took us inside the restaurant, leaving us a pleasant surprise. May I say the view is amazing 👏, the serving and the food excellent 👌... the waiter, despite being tired, he did his best to do an wonderful job. The dessert are to die for 😋. At the end, we've been to the restrooms 🚻, we're for a moment we felt like we're in the Star Trek movie's with that diffused light. Definitely, Opa is a restaurant to return.

Awful dining experience! Got stuck outside in the freezing cold which is fine but we were the ONLY ones put outside. Staff were rude and unattentive. As none pork eaters we asked for some items on the platter to be substituted for other meat items, which the managers told us was not possible so gave us vegetables in replacement! But still charged us full price for all meat items!!! The food was so bland and zero taste was not worth it at all.

We dined at Opa Bath last night and it was fantastic. One of the best Greek restaurants I've ever been to, and it was perhaps better and more authentic than some restaurants in actual Greece (if that is possible?!). We shared the aubergine and calamari to start, with the aubergine dish being particularly tasty. Would highly recommend. We then had the Feast for Titans to share as our main as we wanted to try a bit of everything, which included chicken, pork, lamb, and sausage. It was probably a bit too much food with the starters included, but it didn't disappoint and was well worth the choice. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and our particular server Despina was lovely and friendly and made the evening even better. The atmosphere itself was also one of the nicest places I've been to. It was busy, but on our table of two, it still felt intimate and secluded. The decor was superb and added to the atmosphere, and the music was chilled and relaxed with many of the songs being covers of very well known songs which you would recognise. Overall, it was an amazing evening with amazing food and I would highly recommend, especially if you like Greek food and want a romantic evening with two people or a meal out with some friends. For a night in Bath; it was great to go to Greece. Great food! Excellent service by Despina! Will go again!

Booked a table for large party , food was great , problems though with promised 50% off drinks , manager Alexander was not in , and staff spent most of evening trying to sort out this guaranteed discount , also a couple of meals were brought out that were not ordered . Lastly the waitress was confused about the final bill ( which included a £180 paid deposit ) and so each person was due a £10 discount off their bill which she could not understand , and was charging them the full price . I have eaten here quite a few times but have not had so many problems in one night before . Other than that service was fast , food lovely . Lastly the bouncer outside was very rude to us , as we were chatting on the pavement outside .

Absolutely appalling. Was seated to the table 20 minutes late. Main course took 2 hours to come out, and when it did the meat was raw. The toilets were flooded. The Manager is a joke and needs retraining on his people skills. When complained about said meal was spoke to rudely. There was another group who also experienced the same . No refund or apology was offered . A Hen night was ruined

We booked a table to sit inside the main restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day, yet we were shown to a table outside, where we had to wear our coats the whole evening, not to mention it was 5 degrees outside where we could see our breathes. The only thing that kept was merely warm, was the tiny heater above our heads that turned off every 5 minutes, which we had to then turn back on ourselves. Our drinks arrived with lipstick stains all around the glass, I had to go inside myself to ask for a new glass, the girl who replaced my glass at the bar proceeds to hand me another glass with lipstick marks again all over the glass.

The food and service are excellent. I highly recommend it!

OPA is situated in a really cool underground restaurant. The restaurant has some really cool interior design and it does an excellent job at captivating the greek theme. I ordered Moussaka, which was fantastic, but was not overjoyed by the portion size. It was, however, delicious and if accompanied with sides & a starter, would have been more than sufficient. Some parts of the restaurant are a little cold, but all in all, I recommend!!

Kiros Georgos and Kiria Despina along with all their team were truly wonderful hosts. Went to Bath for the day as it was my partners birthday and saw Opa while exploring the city. We had not long ago eaten lunch so stuck my head in to check if there would be any tables available later that evening. They were fully booked, but Kirios Georgos said that if we would like to check back when we are ready to eat he may be able to accommodate us. We did so and to our delight, he was able to give us a table. The atmosphere is very authentic, could have easily been eating out in Paros rather than Bath. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I am vegan and found plenty of delicious options. The feedback from the rest of the group was that the non vegan options were also delicious. As a Greek living in the UK, I miss being able to go out and enjoy authentic Greek food, so go out to Greek restaurants perhaps more often than i should, but we will now be be making this one of our regular spots for a meal and night out. If you're in Bath, I highly recommend Opa! But it is popular, so probably best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
