Oodles very quickly became one of my favourite places to visit in Middlesbrough, offering incredibly delicious noodle dishes for a very respectable price. Whether it was delivered or eaten in the restaurant, the food quality was amazing. Unfortunately, Oodles now seems to be under new management (likely a chain), and the difference in food quality is horrific. Below are images of a pork ramen my partner ordered in February vs the same dish ordered in April.

Since they changed with new management the food has the best taste I have ever ordered for takeaway, spicy salty and very savoury love it and great service

paid £14, the meal was sub par and felt as if I was just eating instant noodles you can buy from a corner shop with bits of chicken and chilli flakes add to the broth

Great quality of food and beats eating a pasties for lunch chow main was fab

Come on Oodles, what are you doing? I use to love your food it was amazing. Now I get overcooked soggy noodles and 4 pieces of meat and veg in a half arsed manner. I still like your spring rolls don't worry.

I love this restaurant, today I bought pork noodles, fried pork covered in a delicious tangy sushi one sauce it was tremendous. I give two thumbs up to this. It's easily the best restaurant in town.

Food shocking for the price £50 worth of food and it was abysmal hardly any meat in it sauce was extra watery noodles tasted like a noodle pot I can buy for a quid from the shop, soup had 3 prawns and was extra watery! The spicy beef was just egg fried rice with beef no chillies or sauce will not be ordering again. Crackers were ok for taste but for £3.40 they were like a bag of broken biscuits no whole ones and delivery was on time.

I placed an order for egg fried rice only, but I decided to add on some orders in the restaurant. I ordered some korean chili chicken and it was amazing! Staffs were super friendly as well!

The food was good but the driver had taken the chicken satay’s (they claimed not us as they double check the bags). Rang the shop and they asked what they would like us to do and when i asked to send more out they wanted us to reorder it. Absolutely not!

Yesterday I ordered Ramen noodle soup. It tasted very similar to the pho you eat outside. The color of the soup was still black and the noodle was like instant noodles. There's even a lemon on it, so it's not bad, but it's weird to get something that doesn't look like ramen or pho. Chinese beef noodle is usually supposed to be noodle soup, but when I get it, it’s dry noodles? But it’s possible that we didn’t notice it, but I suggest the boss pay attention to it next time when choosing a name. The price on the board in the restaurant is different from what it was when the final payment was made. After asking, I found out the price difference between the inside and outside prices. However, I hope that next time I can make a special note or write down both prices to avoid customers not noticing again. misunderstanding occurs. When I came back and chatted with my friend, I found that my friend ordered a bowl of Korean fried chicken rice on Deliveroo the day before. There was not even rice in it, but in the end, the app offered a full refund. Doing business is not easy, but I hope the boss can do a good job in quality management so that it can become a long-term solution!

Ordered the jumbo chilli chicken. 10/10 amazing

When it's nice it's nice. When it's bad it's bad. I ordered it off just eat and it was delicious. Lots of soup/juice/broth....whatever it's called. Full of flavour and plenty well cooked chicken and veg. A week later off deliveroo and it was bland, dry and had maybe 5 bits of chicken. Why is that?

As I collected my meal at the restaurant. I noticed a customer with a really apertising looking dish. When enquiring with the helpful staff, I was told it was a new popular dish called Korean chilli chicken. This dish comes with Korean fried chicken, served on a bed of egg fried rice, with a Broccoli side; so I bought one of these dishes to try. It was absolutely wonderful; brimming with taste, the chicken in the sweet chilli sauce has to be tried to believe just how tasty it is. Recommended!

ordered a feast box come without dips, prawn crackers, fishcakes, thai pork basil was laughable and cold.. chips cold. shocking x

This was the worst food I've ever had from a takeaway no exaggeration. I'm reluctant to write bad reviews and always leave good feedback to most places even if there's something not great but the standards have fell through the floor at this place it used to be amazing. The food was late by half hour and went to collect ,there was no seasoning or flavour , didn't have part of my order so put in two stale soggy spring rolls as substitute ,food was missing what was in there was cold and the 'soup' was just water that tasted of nothing yet bad. Literally cried I spent over 40 in here for a treat and I'm gutted . Boba tea was good would reccomend that only

first time ever coming here thai green curry was way too salty to the point of being un eatable waste of £9.15 sadly as i really wanted to try it and i had to bin it due to the amount of salt. . the katsu chicken on the otherhand was nice i enjoyed that other than the potatoes being slightly too hard for my likeing so 50/50 on my first time here tbh

The food is usually bang on ….. I love this place but delivery is so inconsistent sometimes you get lemon and chilli with your chicken ramen other times you don’t. Today’s ramen didn’t have any beansprouts and very little to no garnish …. And little to no potatoes in massam curry …. I’ll always order from here as the food is delicious I just hope they work on consistency.

I had an issue with just eat not delivering and the kind owner called me back straight away and offered to cook me a fresh order & bring it personally to my house. Service 10/10 and the food.. wow!! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Chips just tasted like pure spice and no other taste and the delivery was late by 35 min

We get oodles probably once a month & it has always been consistently lovely. Today was a massive disappointment. Delivered In the old style boxes (they were coming seperate In tubs). Hardly any sauce, all the meat & veg was thick & congealed on the top. Pad ka pow tasted completely different . £9 crispy pork was not worth it at all. Satay chicken skewers were tiny & 1/3 of the size they previously were. Ultimately a waste of money for the whole order.

Ordered a Prawn Thai Green curry. What came was prawns on top of a bed on watery rice. Not a curry ‘sauce’ in sight. No flavour other than spice. I’ve never had to add the tables soy sauce to a restaurant curry to add flavour before. No Thai depth of flavour at all. I’ve had better ready meals in all honesty. Won’t be returning. Such a shame as Oodles the takeaway was amazing.

Very so so food. I also requested for the receipt to be given to me and this has till now not been shared with me. why???????

Really enjoyed my pad Thai. The portion size was very generous. The staff were lovely too. Definitely would recommend.

A case of over expectation against reality. Ordered Chinese Special fried rice at £12.50 for a small plastic box to be delivered for which the quantity didn’t reflect the price point. Also ordered the Beef Phad Kee Mao which packed a flavour punch but the beef was like chewing down on old leather. I get there’s a squeeze on pricing etc but when I’m paying £26 including fees for two small sized predominately rice dishes did not feel like value for money so unfortunately won’t be returning.

Just experimenting with a beef curry, it was slightly warm, beef was tough/chewy, bit spicy. Didn't like it. Egg fried rice was nice though. Came on time.

the food arrived on time and was hot, but the chicken with lemon sauce and egg fried rice did not have any lemon sauce with it. ( not good )

The quality and taste is still less than it used to be. But it’s slightly better than the last time I ordered. I wish they’d make the ramen broth as tasty as it used to be. The noodles in the beef dish I ordered were very bland. There was no sauce.

How awful this food was unfortunately I said collection. Was meant to be delivered so called and thankfully said there driver would deliver but £5 only a short distance away but food was disgusting

Amazing food and bit of a treat because of the cost but this is my third time and no complaints, had the spicy prawns with Thai rice. The prawns were a good size, lots of veg and the rice was fabulous, just a warning like your heat because verrry spicy

Food was very bland, disappointed is an understatement. Had the Oodles feast box and salt and pepper chips, didn't have any taste to it at all. Waste of money!

Chicken pad Thai was lovely but the chilli cheese chips where very disappointing. Nearly £8 for chips, mild curry sauce with cheese on top, not worth no more then £4. Delivery was very quick though!

Order was missing a couple of items. Restaurant called us to ask the delivery driver to return for the items but he refused. Food quality very good and refunded for the missing food, but spoilt the birthday meal somewhat.

I have been a customer of this establishment for way over 10 years and since the previous owner left, this place is a shambles and the quality of the food has dramatically declined. So disappointing. The old system of a small revolving menu worked but has since been overcomplicated with a large menu at low quality.

Really nice! Wasn’t sure what to expect after George the previous t owner retired. But it’s really good! Super clean. Super efficient. Super tasty! And plenty of healthy options. I got the hot Thai curry with rice noodles. Perfect for a cold winters lunch.

After read the owner's response regarding the prawn ramen, I decided to try it. Clare, the customer, was absolutely correct. The ramen soup was beautiful and the owner was true to his promise. I had 6 prawns in my ramen. Absolutely delicious, will definitely order again!

I've been coming to Oodles for years because I love to take out their daily specials. Authentic Thai food cooked to perfection This is my first visit since it changed owners so I wanted to see if the food was still as good. And yes it was. I got to the counter greeted by a lovely member of staff. I asked for a Thai green veg curry and they delivered. 2x fresh veg spring rolls. Thai green vegetable curry with egg fried rice = £12.50 It came super fast and piping hot. With all the correct flavours and aromas it really hit the spot. Looking at the menus I can't wait to come back! But bring my family. Its got a really cosy quirky feel inside, you can sit in or takeaway.

We enjoyed the food that we received from Oodles. I would happily order again & recommend to others.

For Just Eat. Checked out the Oodles menu and nearly fell off my chair. They have just added a new dish. My absolute favourite, 'Chilli Cheese Chips' I went straight to the site and ordered a portion. Just arrived and not disappointed. It's absolutely beautiful, so tasty. Tempted to call for another and to he'll with the diet. Well recommended 6 stars well done Oodles.

Well what can I say… the food was exceptional. I’ve got one other place that I go to for Thai food where I know the quality is consistent and nowhere I’ve been even comes close to it. Oodles literally matches it in terms of taste & quality. I will 100% be going here again. My only gripe is the price of the food, but you get what you pay for in restaurant quality tasting food from a takeaway outlet. Unbelievable!

The food came one box of noodles was full and the other was half full one was hot and the other was freezing cold the beef in both meals was so tough you couldn’t chew it and there was no broccoli in the beef and basil one very disappointing

To allow for every dish to.be available at one time there is an obvious sacrifice to the quality to the food overall. The Chinese roast pork is now very poor, meat tough, and they’ve also bulked it up with vegetables that never used to be in the recipe. The beef dish was really nice though. The ramen broth is now much more bland with less effort being put into it. They’ve increased the price of everything whilst reducing quality. A £5 charge for a delivery ten minutes away is obscene.

That is easily the best Katzu curry I have ever tasted, and I travel a lot. The staff are so polite also.

Quite a nice Chinese restaurant within a good spot. Requires a little internal redecoration if you are dining in. Food is tasty and well prepared.

I used to come here as a child and get the noodles. I have to say the taste has just got better over time. Absolutely delicious! If I could eat the massaman curry noodles every week I would. They’re such a treat. Everyone is always really friendly and it’s always got lots of customers coming and going.

Food is so bad my girls would not eat food I paid £35.00 for Thai curry floating in fat. Egg fried rice and chips twice. You can buy better from Aldi an salt and tiny great tiny portion of prawns and chicken. No food got eaten. Avoid like your wallet depended on it and your taste buds mean something to you. I'm a cook.and this is the worst food I've had in my life. Awaiting refund and apology.

I’ve been coming to this venue since it first opened. It was hands down the best noodles I’ve ever had. But… I realised all their menu items were suddenly available, (they usually only do one special for each meat a day). And when I got my food I noticed the quality had dropped significantly, the meat was cheap cuts, the taste and flavour all gone. And then I began to suspect they’d been bought out. And low and behold a quick google tells me George (the old owner who was such a nice guy) had sold his business and the new owner is already destroying everything that made oodles such a great place. How disappointing. If the new owner could have learnt one thing, it’s that oodles was a success because of the quality and taste. It could have been an ‘off day’, so I will try again soon and change my review if it’s back to usual standard. EDIT: You can see how the new business treats their customers and feedback from the childish reply below. Instead of listening and adapting, you get called ‘naughty’ and accused of slander. It’s not slander if it’s a personal opinion based on an experience. So disappointing, after 20+ years of custom… Anyway, Interesting to hear that the same chef and suppliers are in place yet I noticed a distinct drop in quality. Perhaps it was just an off day, I will try again and amend my review if that’s the case.

Best Thai food around been coming for years and it's always amazing 🤤 EDIT: Since George has left the quality has dropped significantly as mentioned by KD, I was a regular customer for a while and even the noodles used were completely different. The Thai jungle curry had next to no meat or vegetables which was never an issue here previously. The new owner seriously needs to work on customer engagement rather than immediately calling out reviews as slander and lies actually discuss it and see why people feel this way.

Has gone super down hill since it was sold, everything taste cheaper and less effort put into the dishes. Was one of our favourite places to eat, but after the last meal we bought and had to bin isn’t worth the money. Shame.

Beef and black bean very poor , no sauce no beans thai curry ingredients were there but not blended large chunks never had a white Thai curry before won't be trying again
