I normally love this place but on this visit there was a distinctly unfriendly feel. It was also cold and needs a clean, there were no drinks at all other than tapwater, the samosas were nice but the amount of fat in the okra dish was appalling...the vegetables were in a lake of unpleasant tasting oil....it was the worst curry I have ever had. I had the lamb dish which was tasty but still unnecessarily oily. I left feeling quite unwell and didn't eat again until the next day. I can't see myself going back sadly.

Went into the shop and I'd looked at all the prices online. Was told that it was more as the prices went up. They just added extra money onto my price as when I've now looked on just eat it was a lot cheaper. Not happy at all.

We have never tasted anything so vile in our life's we won't be suprised if we get food poisoning. the chicken burger wasn't barely cooked and the curry was way too oily and almost made us throw up. Absolutely disgusting.

Me and my husband enjoy their curries with fresh parantas and Naans love the tea and mixed grill too...

I had Samsoa, that were terrible.

Worst experience ever ! I've tried their halwa puri and some karee. Zero taste with high money. Not recommended

I ordered biryani for takeaway, it was like a chicken fried rice. Not a biryani, and the quantity was worst. Literally, not worthy for the price. I'm an Hyderabadi Indian. I make biryani by myself. They just sorted chicken curry into basmati rice and poured green chillies for extra spice 🤷‍♂️ Price was the same a the other hotels. Not recommended at all. The service lady calls/ addresses with the finger. Not by expressing Sir or any other respectful manner 🤷‍♂️ Felt so bad and the worst biryani experience ever 😏

Dont be put off by the basic cafe vibe. The chef really knows how to cook! Unbelievably good food - the samosas (chicken or lamb) are just delicious with light pastry and subtly spiced filling. We have also had the channa dal, the lamb and chicken dishes and the sag aloo - all superb. The lamb is obviously cooked very slowly and is so tender and soft in a rich thick gravy that is enhanced by the fact the meat has been cooked on the bone so the marrow melts into it. The spicing is completely integrated. For us there is a kind of home cooked authentic feel to the cooking here that we love as everything is slightly different each time we go. We are going to try all the specials next!

Horrible experience. Cheeky young gegsy nerd at the front called Hamza USA very rude, horrible and argumentative person. There was an issue with the food, I went to speak to him about it and he continually argued with me despite the food clearly being burned charcoal black. He stood there defending bad quality food. Absolute goon.

The food is always oily, I have ordered from them for 3rd time I thought sometimes this can happen but every time I order the food is so oily I nearly vomited. Please try to put less oil. The customer service is not good as well. They talk to people rudely.

Bland tasting burger and poorly fried chips. The food isn’t as great but what do you expect for such a cheap price?

Lamb curry meat was very tough won't be going back again

Tried gulab jaman this time and some pateesa. I liked the pateesa more but gulab jamun was not bad either.I have had halva and puri and nihari which was not to bad Overall I would recommend food from to get taste of Pakistani food!

They served poor quality biriyani. The rice seemed old. But when asked about it the staff in the counter said due to increase in price they are forced to serve that kind of biriyani to maintain the price. That was a bad experience.

Their seekh kebabs are probably one of the best in UK. I'm going to buy them and freeze them. Great in a frozen paratha with onions and their sauces. Don't go on the interior of the shop. I wish them the best. Amazing cheff and staff are good.

Superb authentic Pakistani food.

Due to covid have only had 1 meal sit-in here the rest all takeaways. Really great food, a great variety of flavors and the staff are really helpful. The quality of food is very high & good portions too. Highly recommend and can't wait till we can have a dine-in meal.

Well there is no cleaning standards you will definitely have a bad stomach ! After lockdown just have a look to their Toilet it's like it was never cleaned since 1950s yes food is freshly made but I don't trust the hygiene plz at least Clean once a year

Here we have a Indian takeaway that has no idea how to cook a traditional byriani. Do they not know it is cooked with a vegetable sauce, all I got was rice and a very limited portion of chicken. The Pakoras were bland as was the hole meal, my dog even agreed.

It says a 1 star but really it’s -5 stars as there food wasent fresh looked like it had came out of a microwave we asked for a kemanan they sent one with green stuff init the curry was more like dog food it went in the bin straight away do not order from there fools if u do

Had a takeaway buffet for 40 persons. Korma/rice/tikka/gajjar ka halwa/pink tea All served by the staff in the community centre. Excellent service. Great taste. Their number was taken by other guests as well at the end for future parties etc.

Chana curry or Aloo curry is really good. Reasonable prices.

one is 100 % to good for this place it has been the worst place I have ever eaten out of in my life I was horrified me and my mate keft all the food every bit and got the bill I had one taste of their curry and their was multiple bones in their so called chicken looked like rat and their rice loke some one already eaten it and spit it back out it was so terrible it is horryfing o seriously think I have food poisoning DONT GO HEAR seriously ur in Middlesbrough theirs so many better places to eat from than this foodpoising place they need environmental health called to check what their meats are apparently coz their defiantly not chicken

Very friendly staff serving home cooked traditional food. Mango Lassi was really good as was the stuffed paratha. Portions are generous. Definitely recommend if in this part of town.

Fabulous authentic Pakistani food freshly prepared.

The service was awesome. The meal was served quickly. The other restaurant goers were also friendly and the atmosphere was genuine and family orientated. After explaining we were vegan we were given different options. We were offered vegan curries.The food was as good as you get in other more upmarket Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants. The roti was fresh and served hot it tasted really fresh. The rice was well cooked and fragrant. The service was quite balanced and the meal reasonably priced. If you are looking for a clean no frills cafe to eat good wholesome Bangladeshi food then Mithai Mahal is perfect for your needs.

Cheeseburger had no cheese and was burnt, Lamb Biryani was greasy even though less oil requested, Lamb Shish Kebab was OK...poor value for money. Place used to be a lot better before

Bad food sent me ill hygiene is 0 they have gone off food in the display fridge and charge a bomb for trying to food poison us pls stay away from the place and i think they need a health inspector to take a visit down to shut them down

Authentic Pakistani food at its best!

Horrible food, not fresh at all. Felt like they served me a day old curry and bread. Roti, which is a bread from subcontinent, was half cooked. I cannot recommend this place. You people can find much better places in Middlesborough.

Really tasty authentic Asian food. In my opinion it's way better than some of the more flash restaurants in town. It's most definitely worth a try I'd recommend everything I've had there but I have to say the fish pacora is amazing. Highly recommended

Don't eat here give you yesterday's warm ups and one member of staff became very rude as we left he did ask if I wad paying for the drinks so I said would you like me to take this food to the environmental health and on that note he said it's ok I used to use this place as the food was good but on changing over to buffet it's nosed dived. Such a shame

This is a nicely hidden little gem, the food is fresh and of a high quality. Everything is seasoned nicely and not too spicy. Don’t let the price or the fact it’s a buffet deceive you, it certainly blows the large chain Indian restaurants in the area away.

Called into Mithai Mahal after a spot of shopping at the Asian supermarket and we weren't disappointed. The choice isn't massive (approx 15 dishes) but all were authentic Asian cuisine which you would probably expect as a guest in someone's home. Each dish was authentic, flavoursome, not swimming in ghee etc. It would be nice if there were a mixed salad & poppadoms added to the buffet but regardless we will be back. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, price was a mere £6.99! I would have given Methai Mehal top marks but some of the table tops needed a wipe! Give it a try 😊

Now buffet at £6.99 as well as normal full menu., really nice. This is by far the only good option if you want traditional, good, real curry in Middlesbrough rather than the normal Indian restaurant tourist food.

Mithai Mahal is an Indian restaurant on Abingdon Road / Victoria Road corner, near the University but away from Linthorpe Road's hordes. The layout is simple, no frills. The food is good. The prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly & helpful. And you can get take-away. What more could you ask?

Ordered a takeaway meal consisting of chicken masala, meat jalfrezi,chapati, chilli pickle and chips....not a big order, not complicated. Delivery time was meant to be an hour, it took 2 hours, it was an early evening order. The food: old stale meat in jalfrezi, chapatti and chips like card board, probably microwaved, chilli pickles consisted of some chillies with vinegar on them, masala was a sauce with dry old chicken dropped in it. Awful, Awful, Terrible. Quite possibly the worst takeaway I have ever had, please do not go here!!!!!!

Excellent food tasty food & great service

Don't get this place mixed up with an English style indian restaurant and because of this the food is differant. This is a cafe that serves brilliant home style Pakistani / Indian food. There are only a few places in the area which serve "real" Indian dishes. Both here and KCS on Waterloo road are the main two places for home style dishes and are both very good.

This eat in or takeaway is located in a residential area someway off the Main Street. We found it by chance when going to a nearby store. The seating area was adequate and the staff friendly but didn't seem well organised. It took about 35 minutes from placing our order (takeaway) to receiving it. The naan breads were very nice and tasty but a little too thick. The lamb jalfrezi was lots of meat which is no bad thing but hardly any sauce so the rice was dry. The chicken tikka madras was very oily but plenty sauce. The chicken was a bit chewy in places not sure on cut or quality. The rice was ok but again oily and very bland. Overall it was ok but nothing special.

Me and my partner visited Ibrahims earlier this evening decided to sit in and border a chicken madras, I waited whilst partner ordered food the place was freezing and toilets were filthy I didn't feel like eating my food inside the restaurant so decided to take away our meal home where it was warm once we tucked in to the chicken madras it was bland we did mention we wanted it very hot! It wasn't to our taste £8 what a waste won't ever go there again!!!

Cracking place for home style Indian / Pakistani food. Under new ownership and good to is amazing. This is a cafe style not a restaurant. Very good food
