Great day on a busy St Patrick's day

Spent St Pats day in O'neill's, fantastic day well spent. Hannah was a delight to be served by and my friends and I had a great laugh with the live music!

O’Neill’s in Reading is a long time favourite ‘Irish Pub’ for watching sport along with drinks and some food. A fairly large area on the ground floor with a dance floor. And just discovered after 20 years… it has a whole upstairs floor as well which is big with lots of screens for watching sport (and there is a bar too so you can get drinks and food). Table service available which makes things a lot easier. There are also more toilets upstairs to save you staggering downstairs to the normal toilets. Staff are pretty cool and they must put up with some dubious drunkards as this place seems to attract some die hard drinkers 😂 Recommended. Still can’t believe it’s got an upstairs too…

Had a wonderful experience! Lia was the epitome of customer service and provided us with constant drinks always with a smile! Everyone was super friendly and can’t wait to return. Some would say it’s the best sports bar in Berkshire!

Went into O’Neil’s Reading the other day for a bite to eat, to watch the football and for a few drinks. To say the service was impeccable would be an understatement. Very highly impressed with a girl called Natalie on the bar, she was absolutely delightful, always with a smile on her face, an absolute delight. I will definitely be back soon, I had a wonderful experience.

Great for the young ones. But as you get older it was a bit loud and expensive £16.75 for 2 drinks

I loved the way Rob took great initiative when I booked a table for a football match at the wrong time. He took it upon himself to change my reservation and left me a message to tell me what he had done. I really appreciated this.

Most of the staff and lower management a great at what they do but the senior manager is clearly racist to Irish people. Its not a place for an honest decent Irish man so the name is a contradiction it should be called as long as you are not Irish or of Irish decent

Aidan was amazing, service incredible

Veg sausages were dried out, probably doesn't need to be cooked as long as meat sausages. Otherwise it was all a great meal for a good price. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was a really great vibe, definitely would recommend a visit

Amazing food, honest and friendly staff and brilliant choices of drinks

Came in yesterday with my friends and was provided with amazing table service provided by Aidan who is amazing. Will 100% will be back again

I go here frequently with friends, only criticism is that if it's quiet they shut early, have been "turfed out" a couple of times at 22:30, last week it shut at 22:15, which means traipsing round to find another bar...

Staff are really helpful, disabled toilet clean also table service available through there app. Great selection of drinks. Floor is also really leval and plenty of space at the bar I haven't eaten here so can't comment on food

We had our Christmas lunch here - 20 people for the Christmas buffet, the food was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. I would like to say a special thank you to Alex and Tracy who went above and beyond to make sure that we had a fabulous festive bash. Highly recommended.

Great place for an after work drink, staff always friendly and chatting to customers.

Travelled from woking to reading for the day out. Was greeted by Aiden as soon as we sat at our table and he offered to get our drinks for us instead of going to the bar. Had a lovely chat about the history of the venue and we stayed to watch the football. Thank you 😍

We were having our yearly Christmas dinner and it the best we have ever had. The vibes were great, loved the live music and the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful celebration location!

Went on Fri Dec 1st, the atmosphere was great, there was music playing, a live band, and the service was incredible for a busy Friday night! Staff continually checking in and any drinks orders came within minutes, it was very impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and plan on visiting again! Shoutout to the guy with long hair who put up with our questions about reading nightlife and the guy with black curly hair who took our orders and kept checking in! Wish I'd taken their names for a proper shoutout!

We had a few beers bar staff very friendly and fast , waiters walking around taking orders were spot on . Even the bouncers were good guys and that's rare . Will be back

I must say me and my friend had a tremendous experience at O’Neills reading the other day. We thought we’d pop in to have some food and we were not disappointed. The young man behind the bar called Joe was kind and friendly. The food was lovely and the service was quick. Would definitely recommend!!

Do penguins have knees? Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? A lot of unanswered questions in this life. One that isn't unanswered is "will O'Neill's give me and my friends a free shot?" (After telling us to give them a five star review). The answer: a resounding "no". Disappointed doesn't do it justice. 1 star.

Hi, I spent the whole afternoon with my friends in this place, and a blonde girl who was doing the service was too rude, she came to interrupt without saying sorry for her bad attitude, when we left the drinks on the table she practically threw them away and when we said thank you she just turned her back on us, very bad service.

As i used to like this place before, i came with my husband to eat this evening, we ordered a mega mix grill we've been served by a blonde bar waitress, she didn't bring us any share plates or even ask us if we need but they knew we were sharing it. My husband went to ask her for some plates, we waited a while for 2 plates the food wasn't even that warm at that point ( no one came to ask us and check if the food is okay), also we asked for medium well steak but the steak was medium, so my husband went again to her to ask the chef to put the steak on the grill for another 2-3 mins as is not medium well. We finished the food and the steak still didn't come we waited 20 mins already and i asked a waiter to bring the manager as we wanted an explanation, literally no one came to us. The blonde girl came back to us after a while saying" the steak is taking a while as they put another one' we wanted to say that we don't even want it anymore and we are waiting already for more than 20 mins for it but we didn't manage to say anything cause she turned her back while i was trying to talk to her. It was very rude and unprofessional especially cause she heard me talking, we felt very uncomfortable and not welcome. The steak shouldn't take 20 mins even if they put a new one..Very unprofessional and rude attitude. The only reason why we ate the rest of the food it was cause we paid for it from the first place. But if we wouldn't pay it before i was going to refuse the whole plate. When we seen we've been ignored and not treated like customers, we left.

Bad service and unprofessional staff

The food wasn't how we want it, we waited too long for small things that shouldn't take long, bad and very slow service. The blonde girl waitress was very unprofessional she needs to work out on her attitude towards customers. We don't know her name but we've been there around 18:00 o'clock on 6 Nov she was on shift.

I mean, it's your standard O'Neill's experience. Nice decor, good selection of drinks and filled with sports fans.

Dropped in for a quick lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Service was lovely and we ordered food which was really nice and presented lovely. Definitely recommend the sausage and mash! Will be back soon!

Brilliant pub. Slightly different feel to the one in Maidenhead. Food was amazing and service fast, efficient and friendly. Only groan was lack of a pool table and music a little too loud for anyone sitting next to the speaker in the booth, but otherwise fantastic.

Food was excellent and arrived quickly. Service is great too with app ordering and also table service it's excellent - lots of sport on so not suggestible for everyone but overall great!
