One Thai Cafe Ware in East Hertfordshire

one of my favourite restaurants!

Excellent food, and extremely friendly people. Had the best Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten. Would gladly come into town just to eat here again.

We had a wonderful meal at this cafe yesterday and the food was some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I had dishes I’ve never tried before. The way they cook the duck in the stir fry and curry was so soft and melt in your mouth. We started with the ribs and fish cakes (both perfect) but the ribs in particular are the nicest tasting ribs I’ve had anywhere. The cinnamon and star anise flavour, I will have to steal that idea. The red and green curry’s were so tasty. OH said the pad Thai noodles were the best he has ever tasted as they were not too sweet. I would have liked to see a Som tam on the menu as I just adore that spicy salad but the meal was excellent with out it. My favourite dish was the one I’d never had before, called Pad kraprow Talay! We will 💯 % be back here and am also planning to bring my best friend as she adores Thai food too. Thank you very much as service was on point too. 😊

Very disappointed cold an nothing like real thai food my curry had 3 pieces of tiny chicken in it. whole order was tiny portion was disgusting for the price £25 never again

Ordered some starters, 2 green Thai curries and 2 rice. Delivery arrived and 1 rice was missing (annoying when it happens but mistakes happen) until I realised that they were aware of it and had marked a number "1" next to the rice. How can you send out a delivery being aware of a rice missing and 1) not contact the customer and 2) not offer anything in return. If you ran out of rice you could have given some noodles or at the very least given some prawn crackers with the order as an apology. Poor customer service and this is not the first time we've had items missing from an order here. Shame as the green curry is nice but just not worth the hassle.

We booked a table for five on Saturday night. Good choice of vegetarian and fish dishes which tasted great. The bring your own policy helps to keep the costs down, with a £2 / person corkage charge. They provide all the beer or wine glasses needed. [edited to correct the corkage charge]

We had a lovely time in very cozy , beautiful restaurants ,friendly staff good food and reasonable prices. Highly recommended looking forward to come back again

How they can charge more for takeaway than to eat in is beyond me! Ridiculous!! Pad Thai to eat at the restaurant, take up a table, use their crockery and cutlery - £7.30 Pad Thai to takeaway - £9.40 I'm sure it's probably illegal and certainly immoral. A RIP OFF!! Food is OK, but this has made us decide to avoid from now on

An excellent place to eat, some of the best, tastiest Thai food we've ever had. Very welcoming and friendly staff and a bustling atmosphere. The place is cash-only and bring your own alcohol, but don't let that put you off. It's 100% worth a visit - once you do you'll be back for more. 🤤

Hungry? Yes! Takeaway? Oooh! Yes please! You know when you’ve got a taste for thai and nothing else will do. We just wanted to grab our takeaway and get home. Sadly this was the worst Tom yum and Kha soup we have ever had. No flavour at all! How do you manage to make such poor soup? Thank goodness our main courses were okay otherwise we would have had to return to the restaurant for a refund.

Highly recommended thai food restaurant. Love staff and delicious food very wel priced. Just note its cash only, however there is a atm very close by.

Cute interior like a haunted house, delicious delicacies… BYOB (bring your own Booz) which of course is wonderful for us steaming drunks. £7.30 for lunch… what a bargain! We left feeling very satisfied and fulfilled.

Was in town on a Saturday the time was 13:50 and decided to try this restaurant with my family, on entering they were 2 people sat down eating. Was greeted by the waitress and I asked for a table for 4, she disappeared we sat down, and then the waitress returned and told us that the kitchen was closed!!!!! At 13:50 on a Saturday !!!!!!! Really !!!!!

Service was just on the slow side but not a problem or so we thought. Had food, mostly ok. Red Thai beef curry had chewy tasteless beef though. Others in our party enjoyed their dishes . Our not so well positioned table due to Uber eat delivery drivers was cleared very promptly after mains were finished. Then with no warning whatsoever we were told we had to go as they needed the table ! Not even asked if we wanted deserts or coffee. Diabolical way to treat customers. Not very organised in my reckoning if you take bookings that close together, this must happen often. They also left a party of 6 out in the rain for about 15/20 mins as the table they had booked wasn’t ready. It’s also cash only, why……? No cash tip from us, no return visits likely. A poor experience.

Can’t believe I hadn’t visited here until Now despite living in ware so long! Great atmosphere( super quaint and cosy), friendly staff and really tasty food. The pricing is great too. Make sure to bring cash as it’s cash only ( atm by tesco)

Shame to give this such a bad rating but the price of the food was expensive and the food wasn’t that hot, portion size was small and didn’t seem that nice, last time I visited the food was much better.

I felt like having some Thai today so made hubby stop by this little quaint Thai Restaurant in a town I’ve not been to. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the price was well worth. I had Pad Thai with Prawns and Hubby had Pad Med Ma Muang. The portion was just perfect for a hot weather but if you have a bigger appetite let them know (cost an extra £1.50 at time of writing) and you’ll be treated to a feast 😀. If we’re around Ware again I’ll definitely come here again for a sneaky Stir Fry! Note: I was too hungry and forgot to take a pic of the front of the restaurant 😅 but may I present my Pad Thai!

Great food, cosy place, friendly staff

This is a really lovely place, it’s quaint and welcoming. The staff were lovely and very helpful with my elderly mum too. The food was delicious. There is only 1 reason I can’t give 5 stars: the amount of Tofu you get as a vegan /vegetarian is so so so so small. When you order a curry the meat version comes with lots and lots of meat and lots of vegetables. With our vegetarian curry there were only 3-4 tiny tiny pieces of tofu, very thinly cut. It was probably 1 Tofu puff cut into tiny pieces. We eat a lot of tofu at home and this was nowhere near enough. I think it is really unfair to discriminate against non-meat eaters this way. Tofu is a cheaper product, but there was so much less. There were lots of vegetables, but the meats dishes get lots of vegetables too. So I think the proportions were unfair. Other than that I really loved the place, everything was very authentic. I would very much like to come back, but probably only if the chef address the imbalance in portions given to vegans. I’ll add to that that there is an option to order a “bigger” meal (which is super) However the standard meal size itself is perfect, it just needed more of the tofu to feel like it was worth the price. Staff were lovely, polite, and served quickly and it was a lovely atmosphere.

Food was good and served quite quickly. Jasmine tea cooled very quickly. The cafe itself felt cold especially by the back window. Perhaps warmer in the front room.

I cannot fault the food or service at One Thai. Brilliant spot in Ware for some delicious dishes at a very reasonable price. Service is always efficient and friendly, food comes out hot, plus the restaurant is in such a quaint little setting! Keep up the great work :)

Tiny restaurant, but then you get that nice cosy experience. Food was great and reasonably priced. Recommended.

The food is always great and the staff are friendly. We have a Thai were we live but prefer to drive to this restaurant as the food is good. If you want to drink alcohol you need to take it. Glasses are provided and you can buy soft drinks.

Small and quaint Thai restaurant where you take your own drinks which lowers the cost for an evening out. The staff, service and food are all excellent. My last visit was supposed to be a quiet midweek meal with my partner, her sister and husband on my 60th birthday oh how wrong I was. When I entered the restaurant it seemed empty then from behind the partition a crowd of my family members appeared. From what I can remember after consuming several bottles of beer and wine it was a great night; the food was good too! Thank you to Oun who works in the kitchen for her help in organising this surprise private event x

Such a shame lots of room for improvement

Lovely little authentic Thai restaurant. The actual restaurant is quite small with only a few tables. We opted for takeaways and I thought everything was delicious - the pad Thai, massuman curry and prawn crackers. The portions were just right. They use to do BYO and lunch time seatings but unfortunately they don’t do lunches anymore (not sure about BYO beer & wine)

Always friendly and beautiful meals

Food is excellent but portions are a little small. Go there and order what you want, don't expect to share it with your companions.

Sorry but the takeaway was terrible. Beef Massaman had more oil than beef and the beef was very very dry. The beef had obviously been cooked separate and then dumped in the sauce. All other dishes were dry, bland or tough. Never again.

I had previously left a 5 star review, but since then No1 Thai Cafe have outdone themselves and deserve a 6 star review!! I messaged them to confirm they were open during lockdown as I wanted to collect for my girlfriends birthday. Due to the occasion, the guys offered to deliver even though we are well outside their delivery range. Such a kind gesture. No1 Thai have been our favourite Thai place to eat for a few years now and it keeps getting better! Thanks again guys!

Simply the best Thai in the area for quality of dishes. It's only a small place and does not have the bells and whistles of some restaurants but that is its charm. Can't rate this No.1 Thai Cafe enough.

We ordered a takeaway from No.1 Thai Cafe during lockdown. We rang earlier in the day to confirm order, collection time and also paid over the phone which is a great idea. Food was ready to collect when we arrived at the collection time. We have eaten in the restaurant many times, and the quality of the food when taken away was exactly as when you eat in the restaurant; delicious! Will definitely be back.

Having recently re-opened, this place continues to provide great food and in a safe environment... what is impressive, is the quality of the food. Do not be tempted to size up... we had 3 simple starters and then a couple of main courses and some Jasmine rice, perfect on all fronts and just about the right size... (we left a little rice and noodles... 🤭). Cannot wait for the place to open once we are clear of CV19. Guys - well done once again!

A Great little Thai restaurant in Ware. Friendly staff, all the great Thai dishes are on the menu and remember to bring you own booze. I recommend the seafood curry dish.

Great food, well priced, fast polite service. I had the duck curry, which was great. Others had Pad Thai or different curries and enjoyed too. The drink selection is a little hit and miss, all softdrinks and cans only. However it is BYO - happy days.

Absolutely beautiful! Intimate setting within homely armosphere in a converted cottage with low beams and wonky floors. The food is simple, authentic, cooked in a tiny kitchen but served with creativity, care and pride. No alcohol licence but you can take own drinks in for a corkage fee (£1). Strongly recommend a visit. Advise booking in advance as only really seats 4 large tables at the most.

Best Thai food in ware. We as a group have been going to this place for quite some time. I love this place. I'm a vegetarian. I only have to ask not to use oyster and fish sauce in my food and I'm sorted. Staff is friendly in here. Just make sure you carry cash, they don't accept cards. But cash machine is literally 2 doors down the lane at Tesco. Parking is available nearby. Really good experience in general.

Always good and not expensive. Don't all rush there though, there are not many tables and I wouldn't want it to be too busy next time I want to book!

Great food, I go there regularly for lunch with colleagues and it never disappoint. The service is quick, prices adequate and portion sizes great for lunch. And the staff is always very nice. The space is limited though, so be quick getting there! :)
