One Plus Restaurant in Manchester

Such an amazing place with a wide range of food choices. Me and my girlfriend went for the BBQ option and it was amazing. The hospitality in there was so good. We felt very welcomed and they were helping us and recommending the best ways to enjoy our meal. I would %100 recommend it to anyone, amazing experience. Can’t wait to try the other floors!

I used to love this restaurant and always felt welcomed, but my latest visit was a huge disappointment. Despite the restaurant being completely empty, the staff were extremely unwelcoming and unhelpful. When we arrived, the waitress asked us to sit in an uncomfortable corner. We politely requested to move to a regular table, as there were plenty available. To our shock, she refused, claiming that they were busy and those tables were reserved for larger groups. I couldn't believe what I was hearing - we were the only customers in the entire restaurant! After some insistence, she reluctantly allowed us to sit at a proper table. My partner, who was visiting for the first time, asked for an explanation of how the restaurant works. However, the staff member's attitude was terrible, and they explained things so quickly that it was incomprehensible. Throughout our meal, the staff remained cold and unaccommodating. When we finished and wanted to pay, they ignored us while eating from the hot pots themselves. We had to approach them to get our bill.Bill was £65 which included a 10% service charge. Given the poor service, I asked for the service charge to be refunded, but they refused to do so immediately, suggesting I get the refund on my next visit. I had to escalate the issue to the manager to resolve it. It's a shame that such a beloved restaurant has been tainted by the staff's appalling behavior. While the food was good and the manager was friendly, the overall experience was ruined by the rude and unprofessional staff. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues to prevent other customers from having such a disappointing experience.

A terrible experience in a restaurant I usually love! This restaurant is a great experience! The manager is super friendly and gave great recommendations the first few times here when we were learning the ropes. Staff are great with keeping you topped up and with special orders. I have now been here over 15 times over the past year and until Sunday I've had a great experience every time. The older female server with glasses has completely ruined this place for myself and partner but also my sister and her partner. We had ordered our broth which I accidentally ordered tomato instead of chicken for my partner. When I arrived I apologised and explained. The server said "Who is going to pay for your mistake?" I said this has happened a few times before including when they have brought the wrong broth and it had been swapped with no issue. She was strict in saying that it was policy not to swap. I said "Okay, when we finish that broth can we have it refilled with chicken?" Which she ignored and went to my sisters partner (the only Asian in our group) and said "you have to explain to your friend that it's not policy, he doesn't get it". He told her it was nothing to do with him and to talk to me. After we finished her broth I asked if we can have chicken now and she refused saying I had to pay for the change and tried to talk to my sisters partner again. We were then avoided the entire meal for refills and water and made my group uncomfortable. I began to think that maybe I was wrong and that maybe the people who helped in the past did it when they weren't supposed to, BUT... Toward the end of our meal the manager came out to greet people and help new customers. Right next to us he explained to them that he recommended mixing broth flavours and swap ones you don't like. This was the final straw, after a meal made uncomfortable and not enjoyed as normal we hear exactly what we asked for being offered right next to us. That table after, said to us "Isn't that what you were asking for!" When I asked for the service charge to be taken off the bill I was given the dirtiest look I have ever received and she again tried to discuss it with the other of our group making him feel singled out. Also the prices are not accurate in the supplied menus, so use your phone for the accurate ones on the website. To that server, you have alienated 4 people who love this restaurant, we will not be returning.

Cosy place, very nice and friendly service from the manager and staffs, amazing food, we tried BBQ Beef, Short Ribs, Squid and finished with ice cream

Having had a lovely time at my first Hotpot experience in London, I was excited to be able to go with my family to a different one in Manchester. One Plus Chinese Restaurant offers a DIY hotpot - setup like a sushi train - it was a unique and delightful way to have a yummy dinner with people I care about. I’m a sucker for a sushi train, so being able to be impulsive and grab things that look good was fun. It was a cold, windy Monday night, it even started to hail while we were ordering, so I was grateful to be inside eating delicious, warm, comfort food style eats on a night like that. Between us, we had the Tom Yum, the Chicken and Spicy broths - and I tried some of each and they were all good. I was glad I had the chicken one, but on another night I could have easily picked one of the others. The staff were efficient and polite, and were attentive with drinks and re-stocking the soup. I hit the seafood hard, but had a bit of everything. What really set One Plus apart for me was the sauce station, the range of things there allow you to build a wide variety of flavours and to experiment and build different combinations. The timings on the menu I followed, even setting the timer on my phone for the prawns and seafood, I did the red meats for less - but on the whole it is good and helpful guidance. They had a good range of drinks - alcohol and non-alcoholic, and I embraced the vibe and had a couple of Tsingtao beers and they worked a treat. Can highly recommend it if you’re wanting a casual, fun, shared dining experience. We all enjoyed what we made for ourselves and sharing bites with each other along the way.

I had a very pleasant experience at this hotpot with great customer service, great value for money, and a lovely atmosphere. I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. I went there with my partner and we both enjoyed it to the fullest. It was our first time, and the staff made sure we understood the menu and how to prepare each item, and when they delivered the food, it looked delicious and tasted great. I would recommend it highly to anyone. The price is reasonable, and you get a lot for your money.

I should probably try somewhere else but this please is the very best! Best cook food at your table restaurant. The staff are super helpful. I’ve been to both the upstairs cook at table bbq a few times and the ground floor hot pot conveyor belt section once. 10/10 each time

The seafood platter was enjoyable, though the portion size seemed a bit small for the price. The food was well-prepared, and the staff, while friendly, could benefit from additional help during busy times. The next visit may involve trying the self-service barbecue.

Love that each person has their own hotpot and the conveyor belt is great! We've been a few times and will probably go back.

Was recommended by a tour guide, honestly some of the best food I’ve tried and the whole experience of cooking your own food at the table was great fun! Staff were very friendly and attentive, me and my partner were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived! Will definitely be going back to try other menu items!

We went to this restaurant as we were going to a concert . We ordered an array of seafood which was chilli squid , kung pau prawns and stir fried prawns . My boyfriend was brave enough to try fried chicken feet and bbq quail eggs , scallops in garlic chilli and vermicelli and got noodles and beansprouts the portion sizes are a good portion . I love seafood and everything was cooked to perfection. The waiter was nice and friendly and helped with our order . The food was delivered quick and was all nice and hot . Would highly recommend as service was friendly and efficient and the food was beautiful. Would recommend to everyone and if you want to cook your own food each table has a grill on . Very nice, first time we tried hot pot. Broth could have been more flavourful but the meats and sauces were good. Little bit pricey £55 for 2 people. Excited to try the bbq next time

We ordered the brisket noodles and soy chicken drumstick noodles. The service was polite and friendly, very attentive. The bowls of noodles were huge, definitely more than enough, by the end of it, my tummy was bursting. I personally prefer the brisket over the soy chicken, because the chicken was extremely dry and over cooked but the brisket was tender and flavoursome. The noodles were homemade and al dente.

Good hot pot concept but value for money not as good due to the quality of the food was very mediocre. However the service was excellent, since I kept dropping my chopsticks three times, the servers always kindly gave me new ones..

One Plus is amazing everytime we go. We have been to BBQ floor before, but this time we tried the hot pot. It was honestly just as amazing. Its a great experience, the food is great and staff are really friendly. The spicy broth is definitely one not to miss.

Very great customer service, great value for money and lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was there with my partner and we both enjoyed every bit of it, it was our first time and each waiting staff made sure we understood the menu and how to prepare each food and when the food came it looked and tasted really yummy. I would highly recommend to anyone. It’s not very pricey and you get value for money. May I add that a very nice staff volunteered to take a picture of me and my partner even without us asking. 10/10

A must-try in Manchester! I had the hotpot. Delicious broth and sauces, with your choice of vegetables, noodles, meat, seafood and tofu. Good for dining solo as you have your own broth, or for a group where everyone wants something different.

So much delicious food out . It just kept coming. So worth it. Will do it again. The only problem is accessibility as the lift was broken. But it was worth the stress of climbing.

Dim lights, good crowd with excellent food makes for a lovely atmosphere

Wow what a gem this place was! Sat down and was sounded by Asian customers which is always a good indicator that you’re in for a tasty time! I got the chicken and mushroom hotpot and the egg fried rice food was freshly cooked and very quick and tasted AMAZING!!!! This will be my new 1 stop shop for evening meals when I’m in town. Well done guys keep up the amazing hard work!

Good range of broth and soup, attentive and nice staff

The was the first time we had been here after having been recommended a number of times. The food was amazing that came out cooked. The raw dishes is a great idea as it’s cooked by you for how you like it. The staff are very friendly and really made you feel welcome

Individual portions of broth, great dishes to add. I loved the conveyor belt system as it meant you could view the portions etc. as a result we tried things we had never eaten before. Attentive staff.

Super cool spot! Hot pot meets sushi conveyor belt. Got us in without a reservation, super grated for that. You order an individual broth then got to town on a variety of meats, veggies, noodles, and all the accoutrements. Definitely get the lamb. Concise unobtrusive service. Highly recommend the spicy broth! Super fairly priced too!

Great food, big portions and not expensive

This comment is only for that short black hair female who works in the underground floor. I used to go there for eating beef noodle a lot of times. But I meet two bad services in the past few weeks. All these bad service are from the same female. I have to say, except this female the workers there are very nice and helpful. Usually I asked for some water, this female ignored us. The first bad service time: When I asked for some soup in my noodles cause it is too dry, this female Frown and roll her eyes. Guess I got the soup or not? Of course she didn’t give me the soup. I have to ask for another female and that waitress was very nice. The second bad service time: I was peeling an orange on the table and I dropped a tiny peel on the menu. After that female took our order, she took the menu and hit the menu to our table in a very loud noise to remove the peel. I heard she said complain about this tiny peel after she left our table. That is too mean! She only smile to white guy and give bad service to Chinese people. I will never go there for tasty noodles. I will find other beef noodles store. Btw, the service in its 2nd floor which is bbq buffet is very very very nice! I would like to go to eat bbq again!

Great place for solo, with a date or in a group. We had friends with different allergies and dietary restrictions so the personal hotpots were amazing. Everyone got tot each whatever they would like. Food was good and there were a good variety also. Plates do add up but cheaper than we thought it would be.

Had seen plenty of reviews so thought would give it try. We went for bbq floor and had a banquet. Enjoy cooking our own food and all added to the experience. All staff were very friendly and helpful would definitely go again

Went here while our daughter attended a show at 02 apollo. Went in were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and taken to our table. The server that was assigned to us was super happy and friendly. We had a variety of meats but the short rib was definitely the highlight. Thought it was going to be more expensive but it was very fairly priced. Will definitely return again

Lovely casual place to get hotpot. Individual pots are a nice change to traditional hotpot which is shared. Dishes are reasonably priced. The only thing I would say is meat quality could be better but all the other ingredients are good quality. The dipping sauce station is one of the best of the hotspots I’ve been too. Would definitely recommended

It can get really crowded there so it can a be a bit frustrating, personally I think the bowls are too small. Staff won’t give u any napkins or cutlery until you ask. Even though they should be provided regardless. The food is really good though.

Great to dine in or take away. Friendly staff and the boss man Alan is very entertaining and welcoming. The rotating menu is a fantastic idea and delights everytime. If in Manchester this is a must stop for food.

This is the best got place we've ever been to hands down. The service is absolutely amazing to the point you thing you're in the Shards. The manager is also working along side his staffs. If you ever go please get the manager to do is sauce and spice blend for you. I strongly recommend you to attend this restaurant. I promise you won't be breaking the bank. I came in with my partner about two weeks ago and although the food was pretty decent the service was appalling. We was seated and waiting for about 20 minutes whilst the server was busy with other customers she finally came to us and I told her about my allergy she said she’ll talk to the chef about it. She went off serving other customers again was waiting another 10 minutes or so and when she came back to try and take our order she realised she hadn’t even given us a menu so she went to go get us one and I told her about my allergy again and then she went to go ask the chef what I can and can’t have. The food came it was decent food but ridiculously overpriced me and my partner spent a grand total of £70 for two people? When the majority of the stuff is pre packaged things the restaurant buys such as the veggies which is nothing compared to the price they was selling a small tiny plate of. I found hair in the sauces tried finding a server but no one was out from wherever they was hiding. After we had finished the server was so quick to try and get us to pay at the table and was shoving the card reader in our faces we had to ask we’re just going to double check the receipt before paying and she walked off. We went to the till to pay and asked to get the service charge removed and the lady at the till had the worst attitude towards it definitely bad mouthing us in her own language on the walkie talkie she had as we could tell this by her appalling body language. She tried dismissing the fact that we asked to get that removed as we was not happy with the service at all and had to ask again to get that charge removed. we asked if it’s compulsory and she said yes it is but I’ll remove it this time. If it was compulsory it would state it somewhere on the menu or website which it does not. If it was compulsory she would show us where this is stated and not removed it “this time”. We had also explained why we wanted the service charge removed and even before we could finish our sentences she kept so rudely saying “ ok ok ok” without having to listen to what our problem was with the service. If the service was good 100% we would pay we would have no reason not to, there was not one reason we could pick at to say we do agree on the service charge. Absolutely appalling service really wanted to come back to try the Korean bbq but will definitely be taking my money elsewhere if employees aren’t able to communicate with their customers in a respectful manner how they would wish to be treated they should not be working in retail or food at all. Honestly was very upset as I did quite enjoy the food.

Absolutely horrible place the food was so below average yet they are charging extortionate rates. They pay influences to review the place which results in a higher footfall for the restaurant. They are literally conning people out of money. In what word is cabbage and lettuce and tiny plates of mushrooms worth what they are charging? It is insane. The server I had when I was there the worst person I’ve ever been served by her attitude was disgusting she acted weird and rude when I asked for the service charge to be removed I mean like they aren’t getting more than enough money anyways. She bad mouthed me in mandarin and Cantonese I understood every word and I felt so alienated and unwelcome in this place. Never coming back again no one I know will come to this place either.

She left served two other separate customers and then came back to us at which point we explained again about the allergy. Once we’d finally been served the food was fairly good but insanely overpriced for what you are getting. When I paid I asked to remove the service charge and instantly the servers mood, tone and attitude changed. She didn’t even respond when I asked if the charge was compulsory. I could also tell she was likely bad mouthing me in her language as her body language and tone suggested. She then said to me we will remove it this time not again because everyone pays the charge. I said to her again is compulsory she just repeated the same thing again and again and said bye. Absolutely vile service and a vile individual to act like that towards a customer. She should not do that job if she is unhappy with her life because it clearly affects her ability to do the role. If it were up to me she’d be fired on the stop for treating a customer the way she did. I planned on returning for the bbq with my family but that will not be happening. I’ve also posted my thoughts on this restaurant on my social media accounts and told my friends and family to do the same.

Went here for an early evening meal with my husand and two teenage sons - one of them being a new student at the University. We went downstairs for the rice and noodles restaurant. The lady who served us was really friendly and helpful and actually told us that as portions are very large, we might consider sharing. Between the four of us, we ordered one crispy pork dish, one Singapore noodles and one chicken fried rice dish, and they were indeed enormous. As they were also delicious, everything was eaten. We'd also started off with a small bowl of hot and sour soup. While a range of beers and wine and other drinks are available on the menu, we were happy to just have a large jug of tap water. All in all, the final bill for four of us to eat well and enjoy our food, was c£40. Bearing in mind that two of us were adult males (my son is over 6ft tall), and another is a growing teenage boy with a big appetite, we were amazed by the good value. The lady who served us was also very encouraging of us returning - which I am sure my student son will do, along with his student friends. It is in the heart of the student area of Manchester. Because the portions are so large and already quite cheap, two students could easily share a dish with soup, and it only cost about £5 each. Amazing.

The basement noodles and rice portions are generous and worth the money. Dishes are authentic and without the sweet adjustment for westerners. They also have gluten-free options but you will need to speak to the staff directly about these. Side dishes and snacks are well worth trying. If you cannot eat spicy food, then be careful what you order. Great place for lunch.

Took my daughter for lunch today. She loves south East Asian food, particularly ramen, but she’d never experienced Chinese hot pot. Safe to say she absolutely loved it. The food is absolutely first rate. Really tasty, fresh ingredients made all the more fun by being able to cook them herself. The staff were amazing also. We were lucky enough to have the owner onsite and he couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome. We’ll definitely be back.

As others have said, three different floors. There is a lift between them for people like me, but it was broken when I went, so I ended up on the ground floor (three steps up from the street). The staff were great, and the food was tasty, but the place suffers from one major fault: to read the menu (and see the prices!) in the 'hotpot' area you have to use a smartphone. Yet again, I found myself demoted to 'unperson' as I do not have one. As a result, I sat with my colleagues resigning myself to going hungry, and not for the first time. The manager was a delight, though, and brought me the menu for the downstairs 'rice and noodles' area, which I would not have been able to access, and then brought me the food I ordered from it. I would have liked to have tried the hotpot, where you are given a bowl of stock that sits in a heated recess and pick ingredients off a conveyor belt which you then cook in the stock. That was, of course, impossible, due to the 'scan this QR code' silliness, the curse of the current age. Go to a supermarket, and forget being allowed to use their discount and loyalty schemes. Go to a particular pub chain and forget drinking because all the bar staff are busy making up drinks for the smartphone 'at table' service. Try and use the buffet on a train and find the attendant off delivering to someone doing the smartphone game. The day they use that system for rail tickets is the day I lose my ability to travel. Try and visit a bank branch and... Additionally, for those on a limited budget, it is horribly risky to order food where there are no prices displayed except to smartphone users. Finally, a personal choice: when eating rice with chopsticks, I like my rice in a bowl, for ease of eating.

Really welcoming and friendly place! Went for the hotpot after a friend told me about it - it was great! The staff were happy to explain everything because I had no idea. The food was tasty, I enjoyed picking from the conveyor belt and cooking it myself. There are loads of different foods to try, and it was good value too. Will be going again.

This hidden gem is a FABULOUS place to eat!!! My friends and all were all different levels of hunger, and it worked brilliantly as you can choose what you want, how much, and how expensive. Really, really recommend for a dinner out.

decided to give this place a try. Everyone gets a solo pot as opposed to a communal one, which also makes a more enjoyable experience for solo travelers. lots of stuff to sample on the belt and it is very easy to rack up a big bill as the prices are not stated on the menu. they are stated on the website and there is a QR link to the menu. service is good. the bill came with a gratuity and I had them remove it.

We had a fabulous meal tonight. Some of our party had eaten here before but the rest hadn’t. The staff were brilliant with us- especially with my 9 year old daughter. The food was delicious and the whole experience was really good. Would definitely recommend!

Love this place. Very clean environment. Staff are friendly responsive. Food is good quality although it's is slightly higher price than other budget hotpot places. If you are vegetarian though it is a very good deal.

I've been here a few times now, and it just gets better and better. If you've never been, you're definitely going to want to try this place.

We wanted Korean bbq originally, but saw in the menu they have a variety of seafood dishes so we opted for that instead being big seafood fans. Glad we did as we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the seafood platter and that was huge! Seafood was delicious, although we would have preferred it if all of the seafood was not spicy at all, the spicy clams and crab were very tasty. We also ordered seafood tofu pot, salt & pepper baby octopus and a fried rice dish and chicken soup noodle. (We were not meant to order the fried rice and soup noodle from the bottom floor of the restaurant as that was separate even though it was the same restaurant, but the manager were kind enough to let us order it up). Would recommend the huge seafood platter (for 4 people) and the salt and pepper baby octopus. Value: 8/10 Food: 8/10 Instagramable: 7.5/10

Had hot pot dinner here and the staff are really friendly and kind. They paid attention to every customer, quick service and kept refilling the soup when necessary. Mini hotpot for one is a great idea to accommodate everyone’s tastes. Will definitely be back next time.

If you’re looking for a place to have Chinese hot pot or any Chinese noodles dishes this is the best restaurant to be! The staffs are always so friendly ☺️ I can’t wait to try their BBQ too!!!

My family and I (4 ppl in total) spent £135!!!!! Almost £34 per person. That was too pricey for the quality of the food. They don’t tell you the price of each type of dish in advance!!!!

We opted for the BBQ upstairs where you pick your meat, fish, veg off the menu and cook yourself on the table top bbq. We had black pepper chicken and prawn skewers with mixed veg (baby corn, onions, red pepper, mushroom and asparagus), also ordered 2 x noodles and an egg friend rice. Had cobra, chrysanthemum tea, coke and apple juice as drinks. Was really tasty especially with the sauce pots on the table so you could spice up, or down. Came to £60 for 3, plus sevice charge so total £68 including drinks. Staff really helpful and friendly- talked people through the menu to help choose. Table behind us had whole lobster on a bed of m8xed veg stir fry, boiled rice, broccoli in sauce. Another table had oysters. You could have beef, pork, belly pork, chicken etc. Ground floor was broth related with conveyor belts for you to choose what you wanted to cook in your broth and basement level was dedicated to rice and noodle dishes. Best Chinese food in Manchester. The beef brisket noodle soup is outstanding and just as good as the ones I’ve had in Hong Kong. We only saw Chinese people eating here so it’s definitely a hidden gem!

Eaten at One Plus Restaurant for the Second time Today, Honestly absolutely love the experience so there are like 3 different floors where you can have a conveyor belt and then you cook your own food that you select, Then there is a rice and noodle floor and on the 2nd floor It is a BBQ. So we went to the BBQ so on every table there are hot plates where you can order numerous dishes from King Prawns, Salt and Pepper Chicken, Beef steak etc and then you cook your own food on the hot plate but you can also order hot food that is cooked in the kitchen and Brough to you ready to eat. We absolutely love One Plus Restaurant We was served by the amazing Waiter Sean who is absolutely brilliant. I went abit mad ordering numerous dishes ranging from Razor Clam with garlic and chilli, Salt and Pepper Chicken, 2x Oysters, 4x King Prawn Skewers, Beef steak, BBQ Beef Kebabs, Fried rice etc. Again Sean our waiter couldn't do enough for us, Its a fantastic experience and it us definitely a must try and you won't be disappointed.
