Gorgeous fully vegan Chinese restaurant. Would highly recommend a visit

As a non-vegan I can't recommend this place enough. It's really exceptionally delicious food. We ordered LOTS but everything that we had was really delicious and we will certainly be returning soon. They make all the meat substitutes in house and they are off the charts delicious and flavoursome. 1000% recommend the chili beef! They have a ground floor which is wheelchair accessible and we where seated upstairs with our small baby which had a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff where very friendly lovely people. It's a BYOB establishment with an off licence right next door. It's well priced and won't break the bank! I'd recommend this regardless of if you're a vegan or not. It's just good, delicious food.

I really recommend this amazing restaurant, even as a non vegan (like me) you should really give it a try. The food portions are extremely generous for the price, compared to other places. They do not serve garlic or onion either, which is good for people who might be intolerant to them or with certain medical issues. Like i said I HIGHLY recommend anybody with any kind of dietary style to come here and try the amazing food out! My personal favourite is the satay sizzling plate, they come bring it to your table and it makes a sizzle noise which is really exciting.

Paid £31 for frozen soggy salt an pepper chips with no salt on noodles and fried rice with no taste portions the smallest I’ve ever seen an curry sauce that was bitty seaweed that actually tasted of cabbage food covered in chilli’s to obviously giv the whole lot some kind of taste never ever again

First time visiting here... we will most certainly be back! Delicious!

The best vegetarian/vegan food I’ve ever had; loads of gluten free options too. The service is amazing they’re the friendliest people, have been many times and will go many more.

Some of the best vegan food we have had in a long time. Friendly staff, good service, and delicious food, all for a reasonable price. Portion sizes are generous. Will definitely come again.

I really loved the food every time I went over the years. Top quality, big portions, huge menu to choose from and some classic favourites that I can’t resist such as prawn toast, ‘fish’ dishes, mock meats. The food is dreamy, the staff is always lovely and prices remained reasonable compared to other places these days.

The food was OK. Starters were quite bland (we had the mixed sharing starter). Mains were OK. Given the choices in Manchester I probably wouldn't go back for the price it was.

came and had dinner by myself last week, and staff were so welcoming. very friendly and helpful with portion recommendations. had the siu mai bao buns - incredible - and the spicy laksa noodles with plant based meat that was very delicious. spoke to a regular who has been coming every week for a while, and I may have to follow suit, it was so so good! also appreciate knowing what can be gluten free, so I can bring friends!

Our favourite place to eat out. So many options, always fantastic service and quality food. BYOB too. Great place for a relaxed evening with family.

My daughter is vegan. The rest of us aren't. We still found the food to be delicious. Service excellent. Prices lower than expected. Will be visiting again soon. Lovely.

Came back after a few years with some colleagues from work to introduce them to Lotus as they’ve never been before. My colleagues enjoyed the food although the peking ribs were quite sweet. Unfortunately the service was lacking tonight. Quite difficult to keep two young children patient for almost 3 hours.

The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the dish with wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots. There were other delicious varieties of mushrooms in the dish, too, so if you like mushrooms, I recommend it. The proprietors are very pleasant and friendly and provide superb service. The furniture is nice (especially the chairs), and the atmosphere is pleasant.

This place does the best vegan food ever! We have ordered from here so many times and the food is incredible and the portion size is perfect. Highly recommend this place if you want amazing authentic vegan food .

The Lotus Plant Based Kitchen exceeded our (high!) expectations! First class service, nice atmosphere and delicious food. My mushroom allergy was taken seriously and I felt confident about what did/din not contain them. Gluten free options were clearly marked. There are many options and the servings are a good size so you would need lots of visits to try everything! The kids have already planned what to order on a return visit next time we are in Manchester!

The loveliest service and the best food in Withington! The dumplings, chick'n skewers, fried rice, hot pots, sesame toast... everything is incredible and the best bit is it's all vegan :) The waiters are so kind and welcoming - thank you! We feel very lucky to have such a great restaurant just round the corner from where we live. Very reasonable prices too.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough! We've found a new date night spot =D The food is really good, filling but not greasy / junk feeling. Staff are absolutely wonderful, they seem genuinely happy and welcoming with their customers, super polite, friendly and funny too ^-^ As for the menu, there's such a huge variety available that it was hard to make a choice! All this and vegan too, you really can't go wrong! We came in the evening (around 7pm) on a weekday and it was pretty busy + there's very limited parking out front, so I recommend booking ahead if you want to visit during the evening. That being said, we didn't have a booking but we were still seated straight away (lucky!) and served very quickly once we had made our choices. I honestly love them! Thank you Lotus =D

OMG I cannot praise this place enough. Amazing vegan Chinese food. So tasty. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very clean and toilets very clean too. The Dim Sum and Tofu dishes are to die for. And the Crispy Wontons are the best I have EVER tried. Even my partner who is a meat eater 🙄 really enjoyed the food and he is VERY hard to please. We will be back for sure. Loved it 😊

Lotus offers the best Chinese food ever. Our table had a wide range of dishes, all were great and some, for example the chilli 'squid', were superbly stunning. The sauce for my beef satay had a perfect balance between the satay and chilli, and all the vegetables were perfectly prepared and cooked. Wow.

This is my favourite place ever, have tried every single item on the menu in the past couple of years. Food is vegetarian/vegan and there is absolutely no compromise in terms of taste. Bao buns are my absolute must haves. Presentation is excellent and so is the service. The jasmine tea is sublime. Highly recommend!

First time trying Lotus Kitchen yesterday, and it was incredible! The food was sublime, tasted amazing and was beautifully presented. I was amazed at the value for money too, with most main dishes being £10 and most starters £6. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and overall it was a positive and delicious evening. Thank you Lotus!

The vegan duck pancakes weren't an amazing texture/taste, but the rest of the food was good. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced, and good quality

The food was incredible and the two members of staff that served us were super friendly and nice! We ordered way too much because everything sounded so good and they certainly delivered! We asked for some boxes to take the food away and the chefs added a few extra sauces as we polished ours off! We will definitely be visiting again.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. ...I have just had the best meal I have had (of any kind) in years...and I eat meat. The ribs were scarily good, the flavour magnificent...but the texture literally blew my mind... This restaurant is great value...and literally the best service in Manchester... Seriously try it.

Impressive well crafted Chinese vegan dishes. Our photos were after initially tasting, that’s why empty places. It’s very difficult to make the dumpling pastry vegan and retain the correct texture for the dumplings and dim sum. Congrats to the chef. Flavours excellent and service very polite, friendly. Portion sizes are good and filling. We ordered 8 items between 2 adult, 1 child, we were very full and satisfied.

Went here yesterday with my son and husband. Wow what a lovely meal and the staff very friendly and helpful.

This restaurant is a game-changer. The crispy duck pancakes are a MUST try. I've never been so obsessed with a 'substitute' dish before. If you gave this to a meat eater they would be convinced it's real but of course this is 100% cruelty free and still it fills the void for chewy, greasy, saucy goodness. The lemon chicken and crispy chilli beef are great and the singapore rice is completely packed with little morsels of flavour. The service is so welcoming and takeaways are made to order incredibly quickly.

Second visit to Lotus. What a fantastic restaurant with an enormous, delicious menu! Definitely in a league of its own. The service is impeccable and the food is to die for. They were really busy but our server was still so attentive and bubbly, fully vegan menu and the food is really tasty, you just cant decide!

We have just visited Lotus for the first time and we were so impressed with the food, service and pricing, we can’t wait to come back. BYOB works really well at this charming restaurant. There are so many vegan options and everything we ordered was tasty and such a nice change from other restaurants.

This place is amazing, the food was the best I have had from anywhere easily in the past 5 years and it's right on my doorstep. From quality to hospitality they are the best. I'll be making this place a regular choice for meals. I am not vegan, so all people who are also not vegan putting it off because you don't know what to expect. Expect top tier quality food that tastes as good as it looks.

Amazing food! I've been here twice and there is nothing I've tried so far that hasn't been delicious. Some of the best I've tried there so far have been (all vegan versions): the duck and pancakes, scallop balls, vegan ribs and both of the sharing platters. All brilliant and packed full of flavour. Their ginger and lemon tea is really lovely too. Great value for money and the service is excellent. Can't wait to visit again

Called in on the basis that the place looked clean and well maintained, while the menu had lots of decent sounding dishes. I has some spring rolls and some noodles. Portion size is generous and the food is very good indeed. I will be revisiting in the New Year. Worth a visit as far as I am concerned.
