Omsin's Thai Takeaway in St Albans

Bland, bland and more bland! Ordered a takeaway after reading the positive reviews. All I can say is don’t believe everything you read on Tripadvisor. Pad Thai was really disappointing. Green Curry was so bland, had better from a packet. Overall very disappointed.

This place just recently opened near me, and i was pleasently surprised by the food, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good place to eat out. The fried rice and chicken was definitely my favourite dish and I will definitely come again.

My go-to Thai take away! I have been here many times for their lunch deal and the occasional dinner and the food is consistently flavourful and soooo tasty. Never had any issues with orders and each dish is very authentic. Favourite take away in St Albans!

We arrived slightly late for the lunch slot even though the staff welcomed and served us amazingly. The food quality was excellent, and we had such a nice time.

We have been coming to Omsins for many years and the consistency of the food is incredible! It is always delicious, the service is lovely and chefs know exactly what they are doing! We have tried nearly everything on the menu and its all fantastic! The best part is that the meat is halal, which they have a certficate for! We drive all the way from watford to come and enjoy their food, theres no other place that would be as good them!! Thankyou for feeding us such wonderful food everytime!!

Could not confirm if was 100% halal food, despite having sign at front saying it was halal. Fooling the muslim community. Staff working there were also muslim, but mislead customers. When asked if they could confirm halal status, said it is “doubtable”if halal

It was extremely disappointing and could have bought better in a tin from a supermarket. We ordered a pad Thai, massamarkt curry chips and prawn crackers, they forgot the tempura prawns. Well the massaman curry was just sweet, bland and beef was dry. The chips tasted as if they where reheated and no salt or seasoning on them. The pad Thai was just a sweet glupy mass of noodles. It all was horrid and quite sickly. I’ll never go there again and recommend that you don’t either

Went for my son 19th birthday looking at the reviews on their Facebook page, for me place is stunning with great decor being honest there no Indian like this in Stirling. Amazing food and service from start to finish. Looking forward to back soon with my friends. Thank you.

This was an awful Thai takeaway. Ordered £51.00 of food to be delivered. It was terrible. Lamb cutlets were inedible as was the chicken stuff. Both of these ended up in the bin. The masuman curry had lumps of dry (really dry) breast meat it was impossible to eat, and I did try! The takeaway menu ended up in the bin along with the food. How they got any positive reviews is beyond me

Lived in St Albans for 20 years and somehow missed this place for a Thai takeaway. Well that will be remedied!! Ordered at 6pm for a 7:30 delivery and at 7:22 the doorbell rang. A bag with good social distance was given to me. All fresh and piping hot. Absolutely delicious 10/10 Will be ordering again!!

Very poor customer service, never again, such a shame, have had several deliveries before, waited for over 1.5 hours, food was tepid.

Grabbed a takeaway from Omsin's whilst spending the night in St Alban's. The food was absolutely superb. We ordered, amongst others Tom Yum Soup, Thai Basil Chicken, Hot and Spicy Ribs, Veggie Pad Thai. Every was delish and had the distinct taste of Thai aromatics and herbs. Would definitely order again next time we're in the area. Bosh!

Our usual, very high quality takeaway was closed but we were not disappointed wit Osmin’s. High-quality Pad Thai and Beef massaman and the tempura veggies were an absolute treat! We will be using them again, thank you!

February 2020. Fancied a change in takeaway cuisine. What a disappointment ! Hot and spicy ribs were all gristle and fat. Absolutely no meat.Thai fish cakes passable. The sweet and sour chicken had obviously been cooked in a sauce which had been burned. It was inedible even for my teenage son. Thai chicken jungle curry had a tasteless, watery sauce with no "heat" or usual Thai spices. Grilled beef salad let down by the tasteless chewy beef. My impression was of an Indian take away restaurant trying to be a Thai take away restaurant and failing miserably. I am a regular contributor to Trip advisor and this is the worst meal I have had in several years. This is the worst Trip advisor review I have ever given. Cecilia & Steve

First time I've ordered from Omsin's. Tried the Panang (chicken) - oh my goodness this is good. Sticky rice, perfectly cooked. Also tried the Honey roast duck, again cooked to perfection and tasted super. The food was well wrapped, hot temperature on arrival. I believe it's an excellent Thai takeaway that is a must try. Enjoy.

I am so disappointed. Firstly he didn't give me the 10 percent off even though it says on the leaflet on collect. Secondly they didn't put noodles in my noodle dish. I really dont need to say much else.

Driving home from work thought I would treat the family for a take away. Decided to go some where different. Have driven past Omsin’s every day but never been in. Wow what a great meal. Chicken satay, chicken dumplings, spicy squid followed by chicken Panang and a portion of King Prawn Nasi Goreng. Family cleared their plates. But not only great food but fantastic service very friendly in the restaurant. Is now my new fav Asian takeaway. Will be back soon. Thanks

Ordered a take out from here! Arrived quickly, food was hot and tasted beautiful! Really authentic! Would highly recommend their food and it is very reasonably priced compared to competitors in the area...of which most are well below par compared to this place! 10/10

Ordered with a group of friends after reading reviews and seeing this was one of the best rated Thai takeaways in St Albans. We weren’t disappointed. The food arrived promptly and although one item was incorrect, this was also quickly corrected and another delivery made. The food was all tasty and did not disappoint. I would certainly order again from Omsin’s if I was in the area and wanted a Thai takeaway again!

An excellent take away. I think best Thai in St Albans. I had the Hot and Sweet Lamb ribs to start which were good. The Duck Red Curry is fantastic. I was really impressed. Value good. Delivery was prompt and food still hot, even on Saturday night. Prawn crackers were also good! Just wish they did Papaya Salad.

Good quality food. Nice and spicy when they say it is. Tasty and balanced. Had food from these guys over and over again over the past few years. Feels like a step up from general takeaway food. I love the spicy noodles (with duck). Our vegetarian children love the tempura vegetables.

Title says it all! They’ve a really good value express lunch menu; food is basic but that’s not bad - it’s tasty, done to order and hits the spot.

We just love their food. Everything tastes so fresh, tasty and just amazingly delicious. Grilled beef salad is our favourite and we always order two portions.

I was surprised by the quality of the food here, very authentic thai food, We use their delivery service on a regular basis and the food has always been delivered to a very good standard. The price is VERY fair. Would highly recommend for Take away service.

Love Omsins. Food is always delicious. Delivery is quick and friendly. Orders for collection are ready within 15-20 minutes. Staff are friendly.

Ordered a couple of dishes off the menu on way back home from somewhere on a Sunday night. The wait time wasn't bad. The food quality and quantity were both good as well. Excellent value for money.

This is my favourite takeaway. Soup, pad thai, duck dishes, squid - just love them. Sometimes a bit slow, but probably because it's so popular. Difficult to spot sometimes - just look for the flags!

I have been a regular of this place for a good year or so and never disappointed me. I have tried lots of different dishes and found them all fresh and tasteful. Service is quick and the staff is always very nice.

Since my daughter moved to S.A. we have been trying various takeaway meals. We have tried Indian and Chinese so far, but they have not been as good as our local ones in North London, and the pricing was London pricing.
