Called in here this afternoon for a late lunch (whilst the staff were clearing up mopping the floor) but they still served up a lovely sandwich for my colleague and a beautiful baked potato with prawns for myself. Excellent service all three staff members were very happy to take the order even though they were about to close, well done ladies, will definitely visit again!!!

Very cheap and polite staff. However, the two hot drinks I bought both started leaking after about five minutes. One of them got so bad it had to be binned.

6 South StreetI was in Crook to watch a Northern League match and we went to Stephenson's for pre-football fish and chip treat. The café is spotlessly clean and the décor is very fresh and much nicer than a typical fish shop café's. The staff were all very friendly and efficient, and best of all the whopper cod and chips were excellent. The batter was crispy and not too thick, and the chips fresh, with not a hint of greasiness anywhere. They close at 2p.m. on Saturday afternoon before reopening at 4p.m. Not knowing this until we noticed on leaving, we stayed till about 2.15, but nobody tried to push us out or showed signs of annoyance. Apologies and thanks again!
