Ole and Steen in Hammersmith and Fulham

Chocolate caliente (sabía como si estuviera hecho con agua) y café con leche (abrumadoramente jengibre), así que seguí con una reseña. Recientemente tuve un blanco plano muy lechoso en Ole & Steen en Greenwich que le dije al barista que se veía demasiado lechoso cuando lo estaba haciendo. Me dijo que estaba equivocado y que no sabía lo que era un blanco plano. Después de haber tenido una buena la semana anterior le di el beneficio de la duda, pero la recuperé cuando la había probado. Le dije que era un café con leche y no tomó bien los comentarios. Se puso muy a la defensiva y poco profesional en su tono. No se presentaron disculpas ni ofrecieron reemplazos. ¡Qué vergüenza , Ole & Steen , por no formar a su personal en el servicio básico al cliente y por no mantener la consistencia de la elaboración del café estándar!

Absolutely shocking customer service by Anika. She was shown an NHS card and refused to give a simple discount while also calling us a liar. We did not go to university for 5 years and now work with the NHS for people just like her to have free healthcare yet when I want a simple discount for a coffee I am met with rude attitude. Anika won’t last long in any job with that mindset.

As part of the Christmas promotion, I received a gold ring that entitled me to a hot drink for £1. I visited the Ole & Steen in Oxford with the intention of availing myself of this offer and also purchasing a pastry at the regular price. Upon reaching the counter, the server requested that I scan the ring displayed on the Ole & Steen app on my phone. Following the scan, she informed me that the voucher had not been accepted by the card machine due to the absence of a linked credit or debit card for payment. I communicated my reluctance to link such cards, as I prefer to conduct all my transactions with cash or a contactless card. The server suggested speaking to the manager, to which I agreed. Before this could transpire, another assistant intervened, stating that redemption of the offer was not possible without a phone payment. I expressed my viewpoint that this situation amounted to discrimination. In response, the assistant asserted that "discrimination is the wrong word," and upon my enquiry as to whether she was correcting my English, she reiterated her statement. On hearing this I said goodbye and promptly left the store. This entire encounter was distressing, humiliating, and, quite frankly, shocking. I must emphasize that I am of an age where I could be the assistant's great-grandmother. Moreover, I believe that the company's practices may inadvertently discriminate against two distinct customer groups: those who prefer cash transactions and those who wish to use card machines. All customers, regardless of their preferred payment method, should be treated fairly and without unnecessary obstacles to accessing promotions and services. I will not set foot in this cafe again.

So disappointing. Service shambolic. Seating inadequate. Facilities poor. Pastries and coffee mediocre. I’ve visited this cafe since it first opened and sadly it has gone downhill steadily since. As a Dane in the UK I was very excited when it opened. Offering many Danish delicacies similar to the ones I’ve bought in Denmark. It’s all changed. Now it’s just another coffee shop with little regard for its customers.

Hampstead branch. Make sure you insist on a till receipt when you pay. It has the code for the toilet. If you fail to get it the rude misogynistic man behind the counter gives a public lecture to the paying customer about how their toilets are not public conveniences. The staff seem to have a deep fixation on this. One toilet was out of order & the other was filthy.

Wow! Lovely woman who served me was very polite, I asked bout the twirl chocolate pastry and she , highly recommended . I got my self a latte coffee as well and from start to finish the staff as and quality / taste was amazing . The lady who served me as a lovely woman from Bangladesh . Hampstead Branch: They used to serve an excellent mushroom, garlic, spinach and cheese toastie that was crisp and thought delicious. Not sure what has happened a couple of weeks ago we had one that was clearly NOT fresh on opening the takeaway bag, certainly not enjoyable. This morning 25 Sept 2023, we ordered similar to take away. On destination the bread was thick and inedible, tough as if the way it was heated had undermined the texture of the bread. Totally different to what was being produced when they first started out. I had to travel back into town to return it for a refund and whilst apologies were given with explanation that this is how they are receiving them it was very inconvenient to catch buses to travel back to the bakery. We shall not visit again, the supplier must have been changed and the quality is borderline, MacDonald and BurgerKing are preferential and they are tat! It is hoped they sort this out as at one time their shop was very busy that it was difficult to get in the queue to buy them. Wish we had taken a photograph, it would have demonstrated how the quality had diminished.

My dining experience at Ole and Steen in Westfield was an enchanting culinary journey from start to finish. The warm and inviting ambiance, impeccable service from the friendly staff (with special thanks to the manager, David), and the mouthwatering Danish dishes and pastries made for an unforgettable visit. From the delightful Cinnamon Social to the heavenly raspberry tart, every aspect of the meal was perfection. Ole and Steen at Westfield is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it can get, and I can't wait to return for another round of gastronomic bliss. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a magical dining experience!

Useless unprofessional staff. We came only for a coffee and expected to get a good one. Suddenly milk was overheated in both different coffees we ordered. Finally cash payments wasn’t accepted , card only. This is discrimination! Cash is perfectly legal as far as I know! Never again at this brand ( Kingston store)

Such a great cafe with helpful staff and fast service despite it being busy, selection of pastries always amazing and an ideal spot to stop at to break up a shopping day!

This review is aimed at the management team! You need to better train your staff on service and on keeping the store clean. Your Westfield store is a pigs farm!

On paper, a trendy bakery-cafe that caters to all special needs. In practice, this means that (for reasons I could not understand) they cannot reheat pastries, at all. So cold pastries. I had a melt with vegan cheese, which turned out to be, effectively, not food. As for the accompanying cappuccino, I felt I had been poisoned, something that took three hours to get over, until whatever it was had been metabolized. In short, not food. Not inexpensive, though.

I can't find a trip advisor for Hampstead so will leave one here. The service was shocking. Slow with miserable looking staff to sullenly handed over the coffees (eventually) without a word, dirty uncleared tables and the most absurdly designed collection area that was too small to take the trays and created a dangerous bottleneck as customers tried to walk from the seating, past other people sitting and with teas and coffees being collected. It is a long time since I've been anywhere so soul-sappyingly dirty and miserable. Never again. That is four lost customers.
