Just had a chicken kebab on a naan bread. Paid £8.99 for it.. 4 bites in still haven't reached any meat... Open it up an it's basically a salad naan with minimum amount of meat sprinkled in the middle... Disgusting. Mean and seriously over priced... Worst kebab I've ever had and I'll never be using the place again..

We have used Merchants for many years but they sadly sold up. So we decided on Oldswinford fish bar , what a disappointment the fish was barely warm and the chips were overcooked burnt but raw.

On line Order and Collection, You pay a service charge of 50p, You order kebab which is £8.70 total £9.20 and you are collecting it then why is there a Minimum order of £10

Really good quality but terrible opening hours. You would think that you could get fish and chips at 9:15pm 🤔

Normally lovely meal but last night was a shock. Burnt and lukewarm chips. Had them delivered but won't do that again because didn't see what was being prepared.

Decent enough food, the attitude is off though. The shop needs organising, if you make an order and have to wait for it fine, separate those waiting from new customers and make them feel welcome, it’s my money I’m giving you!

You can tell a good chippy when there's a bit of a que on a Tuesday night! Being picky the fish was ok but the chips, mushy peas and curry sauce were all bang on. Average prices and look forward to visiting again.

Tried every fish shop around and this is by far the best one

We had 2 fish 1 small n 1 large and a tot of mushy peas the peas were full of salt 🤢the fish both looked as if it had been minced inside the service is terrible the owners look as if they can't be bothered to be there this isn't the 1st time either we have has it on few occasions Don't deserve any bodies custom with attitude like tht for us it's ungraded 👎👎👎👎 very poor

Fantastic friendly fish and chip shop. The fresh roe is truly the best iv ever had. If I was to try and find any faults I'd say the roe could be bigger.

They should call it a large piece of batter not a large fish

The fryer there had an attitude issue. He didn't like that I asked for 2 FRESHLY fried large fish. He punished me by giving me extremely oily meal. Not very friendly.

Excellent fish & chip shop serving the best haddock & chips going. You can’t go wrong here … and the takeaway box is great too. Superb service too - highly recommend.

Haven't visited for some time, as it wasn't my preferred local chippy. Visited twice in the past month and found chips to be much better quality and freshly fried. Will definitely consider visiting again soon.

For fish and chips this is the best one in the area (more consistent quality than one near Mary Stevens Park and slightly better than the good chippie at Norton's Broadway shops)

This is one of the nicest chippies in the area, but the sizes can be small, specifically the kebab size is questionable. I've had it twice now (thinking it was a mistake the first time), £7/8 for the portion in the picture of a large kebab.

Discovered this chippy just as lockdown was coming to an end. Excellent fish and chips - possibly the best in the whole area! Good, fast service and value for money. Have become a regular visitor now!

Firstly I apologise for not rating this when I first started using it. Maybe 6 months ago. Best chips in the area . However the last 3/4 weeks the chips (which I go for, not many people can cook a good chip, regardless of the amount of chip shops.) are really poor. I don’t know if you have changed potatoes or oil or something but please change back! I will attempt to try you once more if the chips are still poor I won’t be back. Again 4 weeks ago this was the best chip shop in the area. It’s worth me giving them another chance

What a miserable owner a guy in front of me complaind how expensive his prices were compared to Hagley and Merchants fish shops the owner actually gave this guy a list (off a pile he'd printed) showing how much he was paying for his stuff never seen anything like this befor what a stupid little victim The customer was simply pointing out the truth which made me and the guy behind me walk out won't be going back horrible owner very rude man.

my go to take away. most of the foods good here only exception is that the chips have been declining in quality for a while. the fish is nice and the chicken burgers and pizzas are delish!

Not good value for money, had one large kebab with chips and a small kebab with chips, definitely not worth £15 for the amount of food provided and not much meat mainly chips

Award winning? Couldn't even get chips and chicken meat right last night. Why did I end up with lamb and chicken mix? I hate lamb, so thank you very much for ruining my tea. Will stay away in future.

Ordered 2 sausage specials and got tiny portions of stone cold chips, had 2 medium chips that were stone cold too. Really disappointed won't be going back in a rush.

Paid premium over priced fish & chips, the skinny little fish was definitely not premium size or quality the chips where soggy and had that many bad tasting eyes in them I hot paranoid someone was watching me , (chips binned)worse nearly £11 i have spent on food, they will not get my cash again,,,

Terrible food served with a bad attitude and poor covid and general hygiene. I visited as a treat as this was our local chippy growing up. Food was badly cooked and tasted disgusting. The staff were VERY rude with one man just shouting at customers. They were wearing masks but all had their noses out, WHAT’S THE POINT of that! Won’t be going back again anytime soon.

I ordered, got a call from Jack, no Ben and Jerry ice cream. Offered two pieces of brownie instead. Order left on door step. If the dogs hadn't barked I wouldn't have known it was there. The person was already getting back in a yellow mini. So, to the order. Ben and Jerry £5 a tub. The two pieces of brownie did not cover that. Small, rock hard and tasteless. Then they didn't put my cheese and onion pastey in. I tried to call but got a "we are busy now and thanks for calling message". Won't be ordering again. Used to be my favourite Friday night treat. Can't give less than one star , would if could.

Have not ordered from here for years. Having been let down by other takeouts recently we thought we’d give them a try. We ordered online, and had them delivered. Delivery was on time and the food was lovely and hot. We both had traditional Cod and Chips. Absolutely lovely, crisp batter (no soggy under layer!) Beautiful flakey fish. Chips were perfect too, I thought there were too many……but ate them all anyway ;-) because they were just right. Not greasy, and light fluffy potato. Our order was a Friday evening, and I think they were quite busy. We would recommend, and will certainly use again.

Dont bother going to this place. They make up the prices as they go along. Went there tonight and the old chap who was in front of me was under charged but he was honest and said he usually pays more. It took me 5 times to order my food as guy behind counter had not got a clue. I was only ordering cod and chips twice and two curry sauce. Then came the price they make it up as they go along.

We’ve ordered and collected food from here for over 5 years and have always been happy with the quality of food in the past. However, we ordered 2 pizzas tonight and we’re really shocked at the poor quality. We’ve always felt that old Swinford pizzas were the best locally, always packed with loads of toppings. Tonight however, it looked they’d run out and piled a load of cheese on to try and make up for it!!! We pulled at a couple of pieces, in the hope that more toppings were buried under excess cheese but alas, just the base was below. We were so hungry we began to eat them but then felt they didn’t even taste good! The base/crusts were soft, not crispy or crunchy, as if they had been microwaved. I decided to call and complain, the manager Zac who called me back was so rude I was stunned. He was clearly irritated that I’d called in the first place, I could hardly get a word in! Eventually he agreed to deliver fresh pizzas and take the others away (letting me know they were very busy tho!). He arrived personally and his attitude had got worse! Angrily, he asked me what exactly was wrong with them and after a brief exchange, he slammed my door in my face. As he got to his car, he threw the pizza boxes into and slammed that door too. Unfortunately they can be sure that we will never order online or visit this chippy again for any type of food, not only because the quality has diminished but the attitude of management is appalling.

Went at 5 quite time had to wait for haddock to b cooked worth the wait still hot got home chips very nice curry sauce nice n tasty too keep it up john and team 🤗👍

We went here last night brought 2x large mix meat and chips and something must have been up due to portions were small. Did not taste right so went in the bin this morning me and my work partner are off sick due to bad stomach and bowels we could have been unlucky people but there portions and taste are still bad and not keeping customers distance compiling covid rules

Terrible and overpriced. Literally batter and chips and lack of any fish. Luke warm. Now living off the back of their reputation which was good 2 years ago. Usually go to Bewdley fish and chips shop who definitely knock the spots off these. Customer service also miserable and unfriendly. Wont be going any time soon

1 star is generous!!!!! Awful service manager is arrogant and has no customer service skills!! Order was wrong drove back and he still charged us extra and gave half the order missing!!! Food was reheated disgusting for the prices charged!!! Do not go here!!!!

These guys are a total joke, over charge whenever they can and the bald headed guy who runs/owns the place is very rude. I used to get my food delivered until the owner had the nerve to call me and ask for a extra £1 as I wanted my chips bagged separately. Out of principle stopped ordering for delivery as quite a few times when delivery was longer I called in advance and decided to collect instead, not once had the difference been refunded which is why I took offence. I have tried to leave reviews on whichever sites I can which include Oldswinford website as well, ironically my account has been blocked. Went today after my wife had been even though we order the same thing week in week out. I said to get a receipt. Got home to receive something different to what we ordered. The bald head guy said we had to pay extra for salad, again no problem, got home opened the order no chips? Checked the website the for prices out of principle even though I paid extra again for what was missing after making a 2nd trip. Looks like they just reheated what I brought back and added the extra. Never go here again. Will attach pictures of receipts. Previous orders have been attached as proof. Be aware robbing b’s.

I live in Oldswinford and have visited this business previously and now travel a distant to collect my takeaway meals . You are ignored when you arrive there is a big turnover of staff which shows how the management look after their colleagues, and now whenever you look into the shop it's just a mess . The cleaning of the shop is conducted by staff not wearing ppe . I would certainly not recommend this as a clean environment

I’d ordered fish and chips and a mixed chicken, salad and chips. Paid extra for salad but there wasn’t any again (happened twice in 3 weeks). There was only one type of chicken too. Wouldn’t mind as much if the prices weren’t so expensive in the first place and then the made even more so by paying extra for a little salad.

Always purchased my fish and chips from this shop but the last delivery cost about £25 all I ended up with was x2 chips x1 fish and x1 kebab! Tried to contact the shop but only an answer machine, I left a message. I emailed them also with nothing back from them at all!! Very expensive tea and very disappointed you cannot speak to anybody!

The cod was small for the money. Was not fresh.

Food is just awful. Cold, and tastes like its been sat out all day. I have heard many others complain of getting sick after eating here. They also regularly cause an obstruction with their delivery van during morning rush hour. This causes a main road into stourbridge to become heavily congested since people cannot get by, adding at least 15 minutes onto a morning commute. They do not have any concern for the local community and should be investigated by the council.

Terrible, just ordered kebab meat and salad. The meat was cold I had to mic it. Ordered a large my partner still hunger, looks like I will still have to cook.

Portions gone small since end of lock down, understand they've lost money but haven't we all. Small gravy for £1 is ridiculously small and had the cheek to charge me 50p surcharge on card even though well over £5 & collecting myself.

Very disappointed. We have been using this chippy for over 20 years and I can honestly say our fish n chips last night were not very good, fish was small, and just a handful of chips also someone overdid the salt too. As for the small pot of gravy, well small is an understatement . Sorry to say after 20years plus we will be going elsewhere

The best Fish and Chips for miles. Used them regularly before lockdown, went back last week and indulged again. Waited outside to be served, although ring and collect available. High of hygiene. Delicious food.

At 7.pm today we ordered tea. Was told 1 hour for delivery which worked well with my husband finishing work. Had to wait over 2 hours for a delivery with no explanation or apology when i called, would not answer the phone. So went up to the shop to be ignored The food was definitely not worth the wait. If they cannot honour online orders, do not accept them. Very Disappointing. Gave the delivery driver my number and asked him to get them to call me, still waiting.

We have had a few evening meals from this fish shop recently before writing this review. The first time was quite good but the last three have been very average. Tonight the fish was very soggy and the chips were only Luke warm. Plenty of friendly staff serving, shop busy but we did not have to wait long. Unfortunately no fresh fish or chips came out while we were in there and the fish tasted as if it had been sat there a while.

Had a takeaway wrap. Best I’ve ever had from a takeout. Has such a large menu selection. Would definitely order again.

Very disappointing - chips cold; batter was good on fish but fish itself was unpalatable. I'd have thought at 1830 on a Friday evening, everything would've been cooked freshly. This must've been standing for a considerable time.

If I ever fancy a treat of chips, this is where I go. The variety of food (healthier options, vegan and vegetarian available too) is consistently well made, they're really friendly and efficient and they also deliver 😍

An excellent award winning chippy. Large choice to select from, can also fry fresh fish whilst you wait. Very friendly family ran business. Always made welcome. Unlike some others places. Specials are fantastic value. All in all very good value. My preferd choice of the other three that are close by.

Everyone always claims their chippy is the best but this is the only time I've actually believed someone. Food is excellent. I've had pies, fish, chicken and of course chips from here and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Wonderful service

Waited over an hour and half fair enough had a call to say they were busy but when they finally arrived they were cold and the worst I've had .The person who brought them said they were late due to the shop having a hundred pound order!!.??in business it doesn't matter if the customer spends one pound or a hundred .you treat them all properly. At the end of the day it's customers who keep you in business!!😣😣
