Stopped over in my mobile home had a lovely meal. Went into town absolutely lovely day. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Been there twice now and definitely going back

It is challenging on Mon. evening in Stourport on Severn to find a great meal out. Many list Mon. as closed. Old Rose & Crown, on edge of Hartlebury Common (Marstons), served us a nice, hot, tasty meal of Steak, & Stilton 'pie of the day' with thin pastry, peas, chips, (or mashed potatoes), & added gravy, from a gravy boat. This was followed by triple chocolate cheesecake, & a scoop of both chocolate, & vanilla ice-cream. We drank three 'baby guiness' (baileys, & tia maria, on offer), very nice, & Thatchers' haze cider, as long cool drinks. Lovely, friendly Nick, Bianca, (with chef, Jim in the kitchen). Service was great, on what seemed to be a quiet evening. Of course, living very near by, we were pleased to walk home. Not visiting our local pub for nearly five years, it was great to do so again.

A most warm and welcoming pub, a well laid out and relaxing establishment. The food cooked by the new chef Jimmy was excellent. Don't usually write reviews, though the service and the food merit acknowledgement.

Just had a delicious roast lamb lunch on Easter Sunday. Lovely friendly staff. They always make us and our dog feel very welcome. We often pop in for a drink and food on week days. Good value.

9 of us went for food and it was fab! Beautiful baguettes, recommend the chicken and bacon, outstanding burgers, members of the group had the chicken and the beef and were all really impressed. The beef one was huge. Staff were attentive and checked back on us, lovely pint of wainwrights, the men in the party enjoyed it so much the ladies had to drive back home!

Great menu choices and Gluten-free options too! They took great care with my allergies - we were really impressed. Our meals were delicious and the customer service was amazing. This pub/restaurant is clean and friendly. We had a great meal and look forward to returning.

Called in for lunch when walking on Hartlebury Common. Really friendly staff. We had lamb knuckle with chips, peas,brussels, red cabbage and carrot &swede mash for £7.50. The food was excellent and the beer good. Lots of choices on the menu and everyone else's food looked really nice. We will certainly call in for a meal next time we are in the area. Highly recommended.

Stopped here with Motorhome was made very welcome food was great atmosphere in pub was brilliant. No pressure on time limit to move on. I would highly recommend

The new menu is a delight!! The chicken burger was flawless and all the food we saw looked stunnning. not only that the staff on the day were so inviting and helpful for us, definable will be back for another faultless experience.

What a lovely pub with a great Sunday lunch menu the homemade Yorkshire's and potatoes are beautiful and how much you get is well worth the reasonable prices. The staff are helpful and lovely we will definitely be back many times

This Pub is only a 4 minute walk from my home, it’s fabulous to be able to drink well kept beer and be able to pick from an excellent menu. My in-laws and my wife and I had a lovely evening, we all had food and drink, the food was significantly improved now that the Landlords have adopted their own menu and moved away from the standard Marston menu. The menu as something for everyone .. Very Good

Just had the sirloin steak off their New menu tonight and it was outstanding. The strife had the special pieminster ( moo and bloo) which she said was fabulous and loved the pastry case, a proper pie.

As usual the food was great and we particularly enjoyed the brie parcels alongside two really good steaks. Plenty of chips, mushrooms and peas. Would highly recommend a visit.

Booked in here for 5pm on 10th august. My moms 60th birthday was a few weeks ago and couldnt celebrate due to lockdown so as a treat i booked in to take her and 2 granddaughters to dinner. As it was a nice day we arrived early about 4 10 pm to have a cold drink in the grounds before dinner. When we arrived i said hello we have a table booked for 5pm. Before i could say another word she spat out its only 4pm. I replied yes i know i wanted to sit in beer garden till 5pm when table should be ready. She replied well we have a funeral in and depends if they have gone if not no table inside. I replied well i booked in and nobody told me there would be a funeral party in. She shouted at me well do you want to go to the people in funeral party and tell them to get out because im certainly not. My young daughter said mommy why is that lady talking to you like that. I understand that if a funeral party is booked in until 6pm they have prioroty but i was not told when booking that there would be a funeral and a table might not be available. The attitude of that woman upset me my daughter and my mom and ruined what should have been a celebration. We walked out in the end never ever to return

My friends and I have just had the best Christmas meal ever. The food was amazing and the staff couldnt do enough to please us. If you want a great meal at a fantastic pub then the Rose and Crown is the place to go.

We were frequent visitors to this pub, under the previous landlord Simon. He declared himself to be Squelsh...mixed Scots ans welsh blood. However his welcome,was always Irish [ Cade Mille failte] and the food always as good.We are happy to say that the only difference is a different face behind the bar. Welcome, food and service all great. We plan to revisit later this week.

goto say the place does need a good revamp as it’s starting to look very weary .food was OK nothing very impressive, the gent behind the bar seemed a bit offish for some strange reason, manners wouldn’t have gone a miss lol. But overall the food was good

Found by chance when our son moved house very nearby. Very friendly, good food, varied menu. Also did Sunday lunch, again good choice, well cooked and nicely served

Stopped here after long day out as heard good reports. Didn’t think it was late but because it was quiet the kitchen had closed. Upon asking landlord for similar establishments in the area we were told there weren’t any, only an Indian restaurant, it’s a shame he found it necessary not to be honest and point us in the direction of other local pubs which we now know exists!

Lovely atmosphere, great beer and excellent food. Very friendly staff and landlord had only been here for a couple of weeks but were very well organised.Having eaten and enjoyed a few drinks we were kindly allowed to stay in our motorhomes in the large carpark. The landlord even arranged a cooked breakfast for us at our request.Overall very impressed....will stop again.

Found this lovely pub in the Brit Stops book. Very warm welcome by the staff and they were very happy for us to park the motorhomes in the car park overnight. Lunch and Dinner were both delicious. They were even kind enough to organise breakfast for us which was also delicious! Your first quiz was excellent. Thanks again for looking after us! Look forward to visiting again. Cheers

We have used the Old Rose and Crown regularly during the Summer months for the last few years but when we visited last week the food was very sparse indeed.Now I know we ordered from the 2 for £10 menu but the food used to be outstanding.Unfortunately the food we had this time was quite poor Not a lot of it and the Plaice in particular was paper thin.A spoonful of mushy peas and a jacket potato which was almost cold.Cajun Chicken was ok if a little dry jacket potato the same and a handful of quite nice salad.Service was fine but food slow to come out no one in there so goodness knows what would have happened if it had been full?Perhaps it was a 1 off because normally it is spot on in here.See what happens next time but if the food comes out like this it's going back.

Popped in after a walk with our dogs on the common. Lovely food, warm and friendly welcome. Good value for money, had the roast lamb and it was lovely.

We’ve been here serval times. The staff are welcoming and efficient. Nothing is too much for them, and the food is outstanding. It’s also incredible value!

The bar staff were friendly but the menus were sticky tables and cutlery dirty and the steak pie was hard to cut through heavy as a brick and the inside was so chewy it wasn’t possiable to be eat. When asked at the end of the meal we explained and they could see the food wasn’t eaten but the response was oh dear. No deduction no apology just not bothered. Won’t be going again I’ve never done a trip advisor review before but felt strongly about this visit. Awful!!

Super Friendly Staff and very good food with great prices on the mid week specials. We had Plaice and Chips with garden or mushy peas for £10 for two meals and they serve a nice SAN Miguel.

My friends and i have been to this pub four times over the last month, the food is really good and the wine is very reasonably priced. The staff and customers are very friendly. Dogs are very welcome here, also very nice outside area, we will be going back there very soon.

We took our grandsons for lunch if that’s what you could call it the boys had pizza and chips well 4 chips their apple crumble was over cooked burnt their mouths . We had the pies omg was just couple spoons of meat in dish with puff pastry lid a spoonful of peas and spoonful of mash watery gravy was yuk never again

This pub has now been took over and the new landlord isn’t as organised. Not enough staff on a bank holiday, so when the bikers turn up, the queues out the door. Said they don’t serve food other than Sunday lunch on a Sunday. When it’s roasting hot it’s not what you want. They did have a bbq going on but was just burgers and sausages, although this was nice, but bit overpriced. Just needs some more organisation and landlord could do with lightening up and learning to apologise to punters, especially when you’re stood waiting for 30 mins.

Only call here once in a while. Big difference from last time, very friendly atmosphere girl on the bar is new but very pleasant, a big smile continually on her face. Landlord very helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Food typical of a Marstons pub, very hot and well presented. We decided to call back to this pub on our way back home for our Sunday lunch, all freshly cooked and all home cooked! Two courses for £7-75. The wife had the home made soup to start, which I had had that. Choice of three meats, beef, pork or lamb, home roasted potatoes plenty of fresh veg! I had the home made crumble with custard! Delicious! I wish I had paid the extra £2-00 for the three courses.I wish we still lived in Stourport to make this my local!!

Really enjoyed our first visit. Good food, (plenty of it) at a very fair price, in comfortable surroundings. Definitely will be returning, frequently.

My wife and i just popped in for sunday lunch and we were very impressed. We use the pub on a regular basis for drinks but this was the first time we had tried the food. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady behind the bar who explained the sunday lunch options which consisted of two or three courses. Meat choices were lamb , beef or pork all served with loads of lovely fresh vegetables and a flavoursome gravy. Highly recommended for value and home cooked taste. Will definitely be returning.

First impressions of this pub were pretty good, ordered drinks, and then food. Didn't have to wait very long for a meals to come out. I will say that our food wasn't bad really, but then this weird looking guy, came from behind the bar. Obviously the landlord, we were absolutely horrified, and completely embarrassed when he started being nasty to his staff, and also slagging off the people who were on the next table. SO PROFESSIONAL. Surprised you even get any customers... after this we couldn't wait to leave, definitely would not use this pub again.. well,, until this jumped up wanna be looking warrior guy leaves the pub!!! Mate your so not call, especially those pjs you wear, that we're stuck up that rather large back side of yours

As our local pub we visit here regularly to eat and have a pint. We have never had a bad meal or pint. The pub is very dog friendly with Hartlebury Common on its doorstep for a lovely walk and refreshments for dog's and humans afterwards. It is your typical pub menu but the food is always cooked well and delicious. There is a regular Bike Night held every Friday throughout the Biking season with an outdoor BBQ with a wonderful array of unusual food on offer along with the pub menu. Long may it reign

We had visited this pub a few times before the new landlord took over. We have visited a couple of times since and have been very disappointed. On our first visit for food we ordered fish and chips only to be told they had no fish!!!! What kind of pub runs out of fish??!! Our second visit was no better. We went to the bar to order food at 6-30 only to be told the kitchen closed at 6pm!!!! we then asked for some crisps.....no salt & vinegar crisps!! We won't be going back as we feel that the service is disappointing.

popped in after doing the xmas shopping on the week leading up to xmas. Staff always welcoming and good range of drinks available. we both had flat breads with different toppings, both very generous in helpings and very tasty. Washed down with an ale or too set us up for the day nicely. Only one negative is that this place will no longer be our local as we are moving out of the area in Jan.

We visited here last week and it was a delight. The young lady behind the bar was really welcoming and extremely friendly (a great asset to this pub). She greeted all customers the same way and explained any items not available from the menu. The food was very good 2 burgers and 2 steak and ale pies. All were enjoyed along with a very nice pint of IPA. we will definitely visit again and would advise anyone else to do so.

Came across this pub by chance, whilst out on a drive in the sunshine.The Landlord and his staff were most welcoming, and we opted for an outdoor meal in the well laid out gardens. We ordered drinks whilst we decided what we wanted to eat, I had the Surf and turf (steak and scampi) which was a special, loads of chips and well cooked, and my wife had a Cheese and BBQ Burger, which was very tasty, and again served with an ample portion of chunky chips.The food was served promptly, and knives forks and condiments brought to the table.For dog lovers, there were water bowls in the garden and there was also plenty of room in the car park.We shall definitely be visiting again, to try out the other choices on the menu.

3 friends and myself went here a few weeks ago as they were advertising a quiz on a Thursday night. We were given a warm and friendly welcome by the landlord and staff, and they have a good range of well kept beers. We won the quiz and the landlord said that we could all have a main course off the menu the next time we were in. We went back there last night and once again were greeted very warmly. We all had our free meals, and without being spectacular, were all very good and well presented. 2 of us had steaks, and they were both cooked to medium as requested. I also noticed that they have a very nice, and large beer garden. We managed to win the quiz again, and look forward to returning again for another meal and good ale.

Nothing wrong with this place but don't expect a Michelin star, its a marstons pub. Friendly staff, decent menu from a no frills chain pub. 55 Quid Bill for 5 adult meals and 3 had steak isn't too bad a price to pay, we all asked for medium rare and all got well done. Over all very reasonable.

Great food, great beer, great atmosphere, a true local pub, with large grounds, offers on food and drink, a quiz night and a BBQ night, they even have a bike meet here!

This is by far the best pub in Stourport!Great staff, family friendly pub, good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Felt welcome from the first time we went in and have been back time and again since. Rarely go anywhere else in town these days as the atmosphere in here is far nicer. Had food from both the afternoon and evening menus and it is always of good quality, and the two for one grill night on Mondays is good value. It seems to have continually improved over the time we have been using the pub, great local and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming.

I've been going here with my family for over a decade now and over the years it's been like a rollercoaster, it's had it's ups and down, but with the new management there, it's never been this good. Great value in food and the atmosphere there is always great. I actually do work there as one of the bartender's and waitresses and I love it so much. It's a great place to work. All the customers are so lovely and everything about the pub is brilliant, it's like my second home, and it's also the same for a lot of our customers now. I host open mic nights there once a month and it's going down really well. Next one is the 24th June, hope to see a lot of people there.

First time I have been here. So good I had to write on Trip Advisor. This place is a diamond. Great parking, fantastic food and a beer garden to keep anyone happy. Friendly staff and locals helped make a wonderful afternoon. Cannot wait to come to our caravan next holiday.

The new owners have a chance to bring back a great watering hole , menu needs a few new ideas but i am sure they will .

We have been going to this pub for over 10 years since moving into the area. Visits have been infrequent during the last 3 or 4 years, as the place has slowly been going downhill. A "couldn't care less" attitude by staff and management had reduced the place to a state where the food was awful, and the beer was a poor choice and badly kept.However, the gentleman who keep the Bay Horse just outside Stourport has now taken over management of the pub, and it is starting to show after just a couple of weeks. The old, tatty menus have been replaced with ones similar to those at the BH, and the variety and quality of the beers has improved. We have eaten there a couple of times and the food was most acceptable.It's a shame when local pubs go downhill, so now that the Rosie is on its way back we intend to support it!

My girlfriend and I had been driving round exploring the area and just wanted to stop somewhere for an easy late lunch, it was about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon at the start of April. Outside the pub it advertised two for one meals so we thought ideal, went in and could see that it was quite a local type of pub although the chef / manager guy behind the bar was very nice and friendly. We had our baby daughter with us, the man said to pick a table and he'd bring a high chair round for us, table chosen I got drinks from the bar....no tab available so just paid for the drinks and then went back to the table to study the menu, it was only then that we realised that the 2-4-1 meals were only for a set time period and not all the time, it was Monday to Friday, felt a bit let down by this but it was too late to start faffing around to look for somewhere else. The menu was okay, bit of your typical offering with mixed grills, gammon, cajun chicken, burgers etc. We both fancied burgers, I can't remember the names of them but the one that I wanted was no longer available, the chef man explained that they were about to change their menu so they were running the stock down so I chose a different burger. food came out in a reasonable time, was an okay meal...nothing wrong but equally not a wow factor. I had another beer and a couple at a table near to us started chatting about our daughter and then various other things so all in all we had a nice time. Not a place I'd specially drive out too and also not a place for a nice evening meal out but okay for an easy pub meal.
