Old Oak Inn in South Lanarkshire

7 of us in for a family meal. Everything went fine until we wanted to order dessert and were advised the kitchen was closed. Without warning. Very disappointing.

Amazing gem of a pub. Bar person behind the bar knows what customer service is all about. Its a bit of a walk from where I stay but I would happily do this daily for the service. Well done and keep it up. Friendly for all ages, great find. 👍

Been down to the pub a few times and on every occasion everything was spot on. Great food, welcoming atmosphere and staff are always very accommodating. Had some good laughs with Branden on the bar every time I’ve been, would definitely recommend going for just the food alone if drinking is not your thing.

Have been twice so far and had a great time on both occasions. Food was perfect and Branden, who was working the bar, was full of patter. Would definitely recommend for both a nice meal and good pints!

A brief visit as wanted to see how successful the most recent refurbishment had been. Premises are bright and airy with plenty of well spaced seating inside and outside the pub. Venue also benefits from having a beer garden. Large screens for watching sporting events. Lovely pint of tennent's for under a fiver. Would have been a five, but the floor and table were a bit sticky. Wouldn't prevent me from returning to try the food.

Really love place. Great drink options, excellent food. The service was class. Attentive, personal and just a dying art. Loved my visit and I will be back. Brilliant

Was in today for lunch with my husband and sister and brother in law, the food was lovely and service with a smile, will definitely be back

Disappointing that they’ve changed their menu - previous home cooked food was delicious but now it’s poor. Their ultimate burger has been replaced and their macaroni cheese is claggy and tasteless. The salad was fresh, but very plain with no dressing. We ordered the two meals for £15 listed on the rear of the menu, so the pricing is definitely lower, but realised when we got home we were charged £22. It took a long time to get served but staff were apologetic as they were getting to grips with the new menu. Sadly, for us it was the tasty food that made us return. With this new menu, I don’t think we will be back.

Food was average at best, luke warm, got short changed twice at the bar with no apology. No atmosphere for being Christmas.

Lovely place, food and staff are great only complaint is it's very noisy in the evening, lunchtime is fine but wouldn't go at night due to noise.

This is a nice venue tho always spoiled slightly by the music being too loud. Between the noise and screens always on...often horse racing!! it's not a relaxing experience.

Decent local, Decent food. Seems to struggle with identity...is it a pub that sells food or a restaurant that is a pub. Can get load if you are looking for a quiet meal out.

Asked about the 3 course special they had advertised on their website. Told very rudely that this had not been available for 3 years. Did not even apologise when they basically called us liars till we showed it on the website. Need lessons on customer service.

Staff appeared to serve locals quicker then others,prices high ,will not be back.

Family visit for a late Mother's Day meal. Good food and service and our dog was also very welcome and got a few treats from staff.

This had got to be our best experience in a pub for food in a long long time. Chef's specials were fantastic ... pudding out of this world.. and staff especially Sarah ...who waited on us was so lovely and professional at her job we gave Sarah 12 out of 10...truly amazing experience.. definitely going back next week to try the Sunday specials. 👍👍👍👍👍

The staff are very friendly and efficient, great beer and lovely atmosphere. I can highly recommend it.

Food was good but service was slow even though it was quiet. Good welcome and shown to table and drinks order quickly taken. But after bringing drinks server went away again and we had to ask for menus to order food so was over 20 minutes to get food order in.

Loved the food and you can bring your dog too so that's a bonus

We weren't sure if our one year old grandkids would be too young to appreciate the zoo, they loved it, plenty for them to see and do.

While this establishment is very nicely decorated and very clean, this is the second time I have visited, the first to have a meal and the second to just have a quiet drink but I found that each time I was bombarded, from one particular table, with raucous laughter and constant foul and obscene language. I don't think that I will return again. In a public place with young children in attendance I find deplorable.

Friendly pub. Looks smart after recent refurbishment. Would recommend for good, hearty pub grub. The mixed pakora starter is excellent. I'd have liked to see more draft beer options, like an IPA or other ales.

Took family (7 of us) for dinner on 12/8/20 place busy table booked for 6pm took a while for starters and drinks but by 8pm we were still waiting for our meals turns out some staff had walked out. Had enough so i said to manageress we would pay fir starters and drinks which we had but not waiting any longer for meals. Management sorted this out to our satisfaction by saying food would be with us within 5 mins if we decided to wait and there would be no charge for food and drinks up to then. Excellent management decision. Food was great and yes we’ll be back.

Very nice inside but the food prices are well pricey. We went with the intention of having a few drinks and a meal but decided against it when we seen the menu. There's only three things on the menu that come with chips , everything else you have to pay £4 extra for chips. Rip off merchants.

I really like the pub the decor is very nice, the food is good and the staff are lovely I wanted to leave a recommendation however that if you get more high chairs I think it will boost business as I have a 1 YO and am in a group with 10 local ladies we planned to come for lunch and couldn’t as not enough high chairs for even half the babies

I was in tonight with two friends and I can honestly say the service was amazing. I needed a gluten free menu and couldn't have a meal with garlic or onions. This was no problem. The waitress couldn't have been any more helpful and she explained the situation to the chef who made me a lovely meal meeting all my requirements. I will definitely be back and much thanks to the waitress and the chef for taking their time to help me out, it is most appreciated. X

Still has smell of paint and sawdust and was over heated the night I was in, but that should disappear/change in coming months. Been back in recently, service was slovenly and food was mediocre at best.

Wow! This place has certainly had a makeover.... My husband and I went for a walk as it was a beautiful day, this used to be a pub but it is now a restaurant with a drinking area. My husband feels that it has lost its "pub" feel but it has been refurbished very well and I personally would return for an evening meal/bottle of wine. Only gripe was that it was lunch time and only 1 member of staff doing bar/meal table service. I certainly will return for Thursday steak night.👍

£1.30 for a pack of Golden Wonders. £5.50 bottle of Newcastle Brown. More than west end prices! However great staff, newly decorated with TVs playing sport and other more standard priced drinks available, will be back to try the grub : )

Brilliant night in The Old Oak Inn. Lovely meal, great size portions and fab service. The pub looks gorgeous inside. It's been refurbished to a very high standard. Nicest pub toilets I think I've been in 😁

Don't know who wrote the review that said the price of drink is reasonable. I suspect the management. £4.30 for a pint of Heineken or Guinness . That's city centre prices.
