Lovely place abit over priced but good atmosphere

We went for mother's day, the food was excellent, it's not a carvery, they bring your lunch to you, I think that's great, don't have to stand in a queue, I hate that, the plate was absolutely full, a portion of everything, it was delicious, we'd ordered a 3 course meal, everything, from the starter to dessert was top notch, we've been before, they do a great range of food and you can order from one course to three, really great prices, can't praise it enough, my daughter and I are going again as a girlie's afternoon out, try it yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Lovely food with excellent service

We’ve visited a couple of times and loved it but today has been brilliant we’ve been for Mother’s Day lunch the food was exceptional and the service too. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you and can’t wait to visit again

Two of us visited today 16/3/25. Ordered one steak pie with chips & mushy peas + one Sunday lunch. Perhaps you should consider calling your steak pie "Carrot & Onion pie" instead. £15 to be served a carrot & onion pie with a paltry amount of meat. Told the waitress and she said "we buy them in, I'll tell the kitchen." Had steak pie here around a month ago and ordered the same today on the back of the past steak pie ordered. Order "steak" pie here at your peril! Now the Sunday lunch - Not enough vegetables but that was perhaps because they thought she could have carrots from my steak pie. Mash portion was very small and two small roast potatoes. Roast beef had no taste. Gave feedback to staff with no confidence it would head where it should and no offer of redress for the poor meal. We made the mistake of giving our business to someone else today but you've driven us back to the Manvers Arms in Adwick. Plus points - the place is warm, cosy and friendly staff but you seem to have lost the plot with food.

Been here today for a birthday party. There were 21 of us in total and the pub catered for us without issue. The staff were super friendly and the food came out piping hot and all at the same time which isn't an easy task for this amount of people all ordering different things from the menu. No one had any complaints with their meals and there were clean plates at the end. Well worth a try if ya fancy some proper pub grub. 👍🏻

We were really looking forward to.our meal here on a Thursday night. When we arrived there was a large party in who were very noisy. Despite the conservatory having people in we were seated in the main dining room next to the toilets. Kids messing about in between diners and in and out of the toilets all night. No one said anything. Unfortunately the food was extremely overcooked. I had roast of the day. A plate full of overcooked and microwaved vegetables with absolutely no flavour or seasonings. My hubby had scampi, hard as bullets and the chips were greasy and too chunky. All in all a poor meal. Service was ok but towards the end our waitress disappeared to hoover the conservatory and no one else asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. We were royally ignored despite our efforts to get attention. In the end we went to the bar and paid and left. Will not return.

We visited as a group of 6 on a Saturday lunchtime. We called ahead to reserve a table and they very kindly did this for us. I would recommend this as during our time there I noticed it got rather busy. Dogs are allowed, as long as they are well behaved. The pub staff provided an at the table service which was convenient for us. One staff member was nice and friendly the other less so and seemed a bit miserable but it maybe because they were really busy. The wait times seemed a bit long but it’s usually understandable when it’s a large party the kitchen are cooking for. The food wasn’t too bad, for starters the Yorkshire pudding was a bit bland, maybe might have benefitted from an onion gravy instead of just a normal one. The mushroom soup was delicious however the garlic mushrooms had a sweet taste to them. For mains the steak pie a couple of people had was delicious however some of the other dishes weren’t quite as good. The steak was a bit tough and chewy and difficult to cut, the mushroom stroganoff was over powered with onions and the gammon steak was a bit dry. The other items accompanying the dishes were tasty and the home made chips were yummy. However the small issues we had wasn’t enough reason to warrant a complaint to the staff. Prices of drinks were quite expensive for example two glasses of wine and a lager came to just under £20. The food menu however offered two dishes for a set price. After we finished our main course we were sat around for quite some time before deciding against having dessert and paying at the bar and leaving. By then the pub was really busy and perhaps we had been forgotten about that’s what it felt like. The atmosphere of the pub was nice and friendly and can see it is popular with dog walkers. The food overall wasn’t too bad but I personally wouldn’t rush to go back there to give it another try.

We were not booked in when we arrived service chaotic drinks expensive food was ok 6 of us spent alot and when we went to pay .charged for cream and ice cream which we were not told about when we ordered cake and coffee £ 6.00 as not much left on dessert

Food was very greasy and over cooked, the atmosphere and service was great but shame about the food, could do with a new chef

Waited 45 minutes for our food order. I asked at the bar what time frame we were looking at after 45 minutes. Was told they would find out. Nobody came to let us know. 15 minutes later we had to ask again. Fairly confident they had completely forgotten about our order until I asked. Food came out more than an hour after ordering. During the wait, no staff asked us if we'd like any more drinks. It's not the individual staff's fault, but keeping customers informed and checking on us would have been welcome. Food was good, when it eventually made it out of the kitchen.

Popped in after a walk for a quick pint. Not been for years. Much improved with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Looks like it's had some money on it. Will be back to try the food. Free parking

Children's menu has a good range of items.When booking the table I was told there maybe a wait due to a larger booking, however the service and time to receive the food wasn't long. Went here for the first time today on someone's recommendation & had Sunday Lunch. I must say I was not disappointed. Lovely little pub, great staff and the food was amazing. I will definitely be be going again & would recommend it to anyone.

Chips were undercooked. Steak not really cooked to instructions.

Nice food but please check your bill as when we were there they did try to add more drinks on to the bill than we'd had

Really enjoy this place just visited with my partner and she mentioned about her bike tyre was flat, the lady behind the bar thought about it for about an hour and came out and helped us out pumping the tyre that is customer service at it's best

Love coming here, the staff are fantastic and so very accommodating and helpful with my grandma whose in a wheelchair. The food is superb. Very big portions! So you won't ever leave hungry. New menu with more fish items is very welcomed and all the much loved dishes from the old menu still there. There's not been anything I disliked. The beef in particular is always melt in the mouth!

Food plentyfull and delicious very good prices ,staff very welcoming and helpful with diabetic customer 11 of us and all happy with meals will be going again very clean and comfortable .

A decent Sunday dinner ruined by bad tasting bought in frozen yorkshire pudding could taste for hours after. No option for adults to have a smaller Sunday dinner and not allowed to have a child portion. So anyone with a small appetite has to have something else or waste food won't be going again or recommend

Gorgeous food, gorgeous place. 😍 Went once, had to go again. Great for a quiet meal, and a good chat. Staff were lovely and polite, make you feel welcome. And they have my favourite pudding.. Jam Rolly Polly... YumYum hard to find that on a menu these days. Only a smallish car park though, but a nice outdoor seating area. Theres a woodland walk just across the road, its a nice place for a starting point or finnishing point.

I've visited here before and loved the food, visited again for the mothers days set menu and have to say was a little bit let down by the food the pork dinner was just a little lackluster. Best I can say everything was warm and there was plenty of food but the main did seem re-warmed. I put it down to being so busy and being in a party of 11 but still a little disappointed after the first visit.

Really enjoyed my steak meal, the service was excellent, good choice of drinks on offer will be back!

Third visit , excellent the first visit, second also lovely garlic mushrooms are to die for. Last visit was also good but the special which was chicken with cabbage and bacon all 3 of us had said it came with sautéed potatoes. But arrived with new potatoes, maybe I should have said something at the Time. Wine is quite expensive at £8 a glass

Only one person taking food and drink orders at the bar. Same person pouring the drinks. Took ages to place order with a big queue. Fish over cooked and tasted like oven ready chips

We went for a family meal off their Christmas fare menu. The food was below standard. Frozen deep fried roast potatoes. Festive burger was just a chicken sandwich using Tesco bread cake. The staff were not very friendly it will a long time before we go again.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Ordered liver and onions. Liver and onions and gravy perfect. Came with tasty mash overcooked carrots and frozen (watery) peas and green beans (inedible). BTW my friend ordered sizzler in black bean sauce. The sizzler in sweet Chile sauce which arrived was delicious with fabulous home cooked chunky chips and a naan!

First time been here and definitely not the last ...by far one of the best Sunday roast out there ...definitely worth the money and very generous portions and I was stuffed . compliments to all the staff from the chefs ,to the ladies who served us really welcoming and always asking if we needed anything . thankyou so much see you again soon if you not been definitely make sure you do 100% all the four of us loved it

Called in for Sunday lunch. Choice of roast beef. Turkey or pork. £14.95 for one course. We were seated in the conservatory area. Which was uncomfortably warm. Vegetables were turnip. Peas. Carrots and white cabbage. The beef was tasty. As were the carrots. We had dessert. I had jam roly poly. Which wasn’t very tasty. My husband had lemon meringue which he would recommend. Thought it was home made

A few months ago I got a pie that was warned up in the microwave? so the pastry was soggy and the vege was dry, probably microwaved? I've been again recently and my Chicken was really chewy, probably microwaved with some of the mushrooms refrigerator cold on top? At £15+ per meal it's terrible quality weatherspoons would be superior!

The food is exceptionally good, fresh and homemade. One of our party said it was the best steak pie she had ever had. The gravy was really tasty too. I have been coming back to Old Moor Tavern since last Christmas when I came for the first time. The Bailey's cheesecake was something else. I have brought several people here since. The staff are really good and friendly. We joined in the Wednesday night quiz which was fun. It's safe to say we love this place and will continue to come back.

Nice pub out of the way . Decent parking . The food is good and good value for money . Sunday lunch is good . If your eating I would advise reserving a table . Wow amazing food

Good food and beer, plus obliging staff. Building a little tired, but business probably badly affected by lockdown, economic slowdown and inflation.

Not the best I have had here. Had to pre order and seemed to have been sat a while. Price increases a little steep . Pie very dry gammon fatty and overcooked.

Service was very quick. The food was lovely. I recommend the Yorkshire pudding starter. I went for sirloin steak as a main...had the fillet on previous visit. I have to say the sirloin tonight was delicious. It came all trimmed with mushrooms, onion rings, peas and fries...banging! I didn't need a desert lol.

Didn't have food, but it was very expensive for drinks, anybody would think they were situated in London. No wonder so many pubs are closing when some charge these prices.

Meals were expensive for what you got. Gammon was fatty, and the Yorkshire Pudding was hard and flat. Coffee was good, and they allowed dogs. Wouldn't return for a meal.

Not really happy with the food. Ordered a medium rare steak. was cooked just about fully through and only slighty rare in the middle. Also wasnt a good quality, I have bought better from tescos unfortunately and cooked better myself and I really can not cook. A friend asked for an ommeltte as the menu wasnt that good for a vegetarian £18 for eggs?????. big portions yes, sluggish on service for drinks and puddings too. Not one of us out of 7 would go back. Shame, as this used to be a really good place to eat

Went yesterday for a meal and had great food. Two of us went for the pork Sunday lunch and there is plenty plus a tray of mixed veg. Our daughter had the steak and stilton pie which she said was very good. Staff friendly. Great experience.
