Balti Palace Darton in Barnsley

Friendly helpful staff, made my curry exactly how I asked and it was perfect. We keep trying different Indian restaurants and comparing it to this one, we have not found one that can top this yet for taste, price and atmostphere I get lost following Sat Nav but this place was easy to find and with parking less than 20 seconds away from the entrance, what more could you ask for. I would recommend to try something new and you'll have a new favourite each time

Mixed kebab and onion bahji starters were as good as I've ever had. Main course could have done with a bit more spice But that could just be my taste. Will definitely go again.

The best by far! We had chicken and spinach Balti Bangladeshi style, chicken almashi, cauliflower bhaji, rices and naans. Perfect.

Fabulous food, we turned up at 8pm without a booking as we had booked a table at Royal Spice (just down the road) we left after only having the pickle tray due to a large table of drunk men being obnoxious. We will definitely go back to Balti Palace, lovely, busy atmosphere and the staff were great (had a laugh with them). Two of our party are vegetarian and said their meal was really good too.

Nice food always and restaurant is always full

Had very nice meal. Staff pleasant and efficient with good service. Went on a Tuesday which has a price deal and was good value.

The meal we had this evening is the second one on the trot one was a eat in and tonight was a takeaway, and as for for both meals they were way too salty it was that bad it feels like it's burnt the inside of your mouth and with our takeaway tonight we had onion bhaji,s which were just a ball of sloppy grease (not crispy at all could no eat) so I hope you can look into this problem and resolve it

Excellent food and great service. We got the poppadoms and pickle tray, mixed starter for 2, chicken jalfrezi and chicken tikka masala, pilau rice and a nan each. Portions were generous. Will definitely be going again.

We went for an Indian tonight. The garlic prawns tasted like lemon and was chewy. The meat was like chewing on a sandal. I feel actual ill after eating here. Korma was like a ready meal. Didn’t eat any of the food. Waste of £54

Must admit it was not as good as our last visit. We went for the special, starter was average My wife's main was Chicken Rogan Josh with a garlic nan, didnt taste of garlic, not up to its usual standard she left over half of it. I had Lamb Passander with a peswari nan, was ok. Hate it when no one ask's how our food was, no offer of coffee, paid our bill and left, cant see us going back..

Good food.....when you get it....ordered for 8pm, after several phone calls....as I write this 30 minutes late and still not here.. be there in 5 minutes mate he said....they lied....they had my phone number....if they cannot fulfill the orders they should not take them....he is a business tip....deliver in the order that people make orders....I made mine 3 hours ago.

Food was lovely, this place was very busy probably due to the fact it's a very nice place for food. Will definitely use again be it take away or dine in.

Not the best ordered a fairly hot to hot curry it lacked any sort of heat and taste a lot of sauce but. really disappointing for £9.50 I'd rather get a asda meal for two I think

We got a takeaway from here yesterday and had high hopes, sadly we were left bitterly disappointed. The food took over 1hour and a half to arrive to us & we had to phone twice to check where it was. When it arrived the food was freezing cold and extremely bland, had not much taste at all. I had 6 pieces of chicken in my dish and the rest was all sauce. Not happy with the place at all and won’t be returning.

Very very bland food, all sauce no meat in curry., Badly chipped serving dishes, had to exchange cutlery as not clean. No space between tables despite not being busy. Staff didn't look happy or make any effort other than to take orders and bring food. Shabby decor. Will not be going again .

Booked a table for 6pm but our mains didn't arrive until 7:30pm. No wiff of an apology at all. Food was mediocre. Price was cheap because they had an offer on. I suppose you get what you pay for here. Slow and poor service, food not great. If you want better service and better food for a similar price go to Cardamom Lounge

Great staff, lovely food, some of areas looking a little tired, could do with a lick of paint, but overall really enjoyed our night .

We come here at least once a month and the food is always OK. However we had food delivered last night and it was horrific. We ordered a mixed kebab which was literally 3 pieces of cold "meat" in a plastic tub. We also ordered chicken tikka masala, which was 4 chunks of chicken with a few chopped onions in the bottom, no sauce. It was also cold. The garlic naan that we ordered was plain naan, also cold and hard. Then pilau rice was in fact plain rice, this was also cold. The only decent thing was the vindaloo, it was edible once warmed up. We phoned the restaurant as we were very disappointed. The guy on the 0hine said our order wasn't wrong and we'd received what we had asked for. Poor customer service horrid food. Safe to say we won't be returning here. Avoid!!

Never, ever eat here! The hygiene is an absolute disgrace and the staff have zero concern for the welfare of their customers. After alerting staff to mould in the water jugs they had served us staff laughed in our face. After informing them that the plates they wanted to serve our food on were dirty they simply said it was how it is. We informed the staff we had a pregnant woman with our group, so that the level of food hygiene they had in the restaurant was of even more importance and they simply batted away our concerns. “We cannot change what has happened…..you have had a discounted bill.” The discounted bill was £13 off a £163 bill. So about £1.44 per person off the bill. I wouldn’t return to let my dog eat in here. Unless you want to eat food off dirty plates and to drink water out of mouldy glasses then do not visit this ‘restaurant’. Vile.

My dish was tasty, but my companion's chicken was dry as a chip. The biggest minus of the place was the unfriendly waiter who made me want to leave, the children's chairs that were placed in the toilet, which were terribly dirty, and the toilet itself which looked dingy compared to the restaurant's decor. No one gave us coffee for the set consisting of 3 dishes and coffee, nor did they even offer it when I went to pay. I have already eaten this cuisine in many places in the area and I will not recommend this place.

A very lovely meal and well cooked. I don't like hot Indian food so the chef mellowed it down for me and it was delicious. Great service and will be happy to visit again. Recommended 👍

Ace food and good friendly service

Great food. Spices just right and flavours good. Poor side salad offering but seems to be standard in most indians anyway. Kingfisher beer spot on. Service OK if a little slow but staff polite and efficient.

The food here is always brilliant, just wish we could attend more often. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, especially for Tuesday and Wednesday special menus!

I have been here a few times & it's been nice but we visited last week & my food was not good, so much so that I couldn't eat it, however my husband enjoyed his.....they did refund the cost of my meal tbf but I will not be rushing back.

I might be biased but this has to be the best Indian restaurant around. We've been eating in and having takeaways at this place since the early nineties and it's still the best

Just order via just eat for delivery. Curry turned up within half an hour of ordering which is great, delivery driver very friendly - there’s nothing better than when food turns up warm and fast. The curries were really tasty, naan great, the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars out of the 5 is because it was very oily. If they’d have drained the oil away first before serving then I’d of given it 5 stars.

1st time here and I had a lovely evening, I used the carpark behind coop you get 3hrs parking there. The waiters were polite and attentive, the food was amazing and plentiful.

Absolutely disgusted with the meal we’ve collected this evening. We ordered 4 currys, 3 naans and some rice totally £37. First of all not a single curry was labelled so we had no idea what was what. I’m a vegetarian and ordered a mushroom special curry and received mutton and prawns, therefore couldn’t eat it. The hydrabad was that spicy it was impossible for my husband to eat. The chicken tikka masala tasted of nothing - and my father is the least fussiest eater. The naans were all burnt to a crisp. 0/10. I rung and was offered another meal which was nice, however we live in an undeliverable area hence why we collected and everyone had finished their meal. The gentleman did handle my complaint very well, but it doesn’t take away from the utterly appalling food. We’ve been loyal customers for 5 years, and won’t be returning.

Been today for the first time in probably 10 months. Afraid to say I wont be going back. What's happened??? This was the best indian around. My rice was stone cold, nan bread needed 2 people to tear it and curry not up to much either. The place was empty 1 guy came to serve me, halfway thru serving me the phone rang, he spoke on the phone for a few minutes rather than continue serving me. In the meantime my takeaway is sat there going cold. So yes, poor service aswell

brill as were the last uncountable times we have visited over the years. Amir never changes. so welcoming, as is the rest of his staff. the food is so fresh and tasty, served on red hot plates. never rushed between courses. lovely tastey food, as always. so delicious. a friendly and unpretentious experience in the best possible way.

I love this place and the staff. One of the main places ive been going for years even when it was just a takeaway. Very nice surrounding with lights which are lovely. The staff know there menu and currys gives good advice when asked about the different currys would always come here.

Ordered a takeaway and the sauces were very thin and the meals lacked flavour. The starter and the garlic naan were excellent though. UPDATED.... I gave this place a second chance by eating in and the food and service was fantastic. TIP.... don’t order take out. 2nd TIP. When dining in, finish the night off with a coffee liqueur. One of the best I’ve had.

This was our first time at Balti Palace and we really enjoyed it. The food is excellent and the service is very good. We will definitely go again.
