Lovely soup today for lunch, absolutely piping hot. Sat outside and enjoyed the view of the boats, ducks and swans.

Great food, served in good time

Ordered a take away for about £25. When my toddler changed her mind and wanted to sit in instead, I asked if we can do so. I was happy to accommodate whatever necessary. They told me I have to pay extra £25 if I want to sit in. I don't think this is correct and I found the person very rude, particularly as the place was mostly empty, so space wasn't an issue.

An amazing place. We had breakfast. Great value for money and served hot. The staff were very friendly. They have a very varied menu and also an amazing choice of ice cream and milkshakes. Well worth a visit if you're in the area 🤗

Cozy little restaurant. We had Full English Breakfirst today. After about 10 minutes everything was clear. Very tasty, friendly service, everything was great.

Lovely traditional tea rooms in a prime position with nice coffee, lots of ice cream choices and friendly hard working staff. Clearly cherished by the locals who pointed out the breakfast deals. Very dog friendly, our corgi felt very much at home, with a large full water bowl provided. Spaces inside and out to enjoy the views of the boats swans and ducks along the river. Lots of parking options within 5 minute radius.

Lovely location, but service so slow, worst 'latte' i have ever had, bland ice cream, un mixed/blended 'thick' shake which took an absolute age to make, all whilst listening to the staff outback talking about what mugs the customers are for paying £6.95 for a £1 pizza, plus some unbelievable staff belittling when someone asked where to find a particular ice cream flavour. Keep your money in your pocket and find somewhere else to eat.

Stopped here for a delicious lunch! We had the fish and chips and a fish finger sandwich which was cooked fresh and the fish was amazing. We finished off with the best Nutella Waffle I have ever eaten!! Definitely would come again if in the area.. the staff were very helpful.

Very pretty setting. The welcome still needs to improve, there was no one in the café and we were quite disappointed. We ordered two cream teas which we were disappointed with: the clotted cream tasted like butter as if the cream had been mixed with butter and the scones didn't taste like real scones. Too bad for such a pretty location.

Rude staff. Extremely rude staff and wouldn’t serve us despite being there before closing time. Staff were unnecessarily rude. Would avoid this place, no customer service etiquette or people skills.

Paid £18 for 2 tuna melts which was just ONE SLICE of bread with tuna and cheese thrown on. Questioned the waitress if there was any salad served with it or crisps/fries she said no that’s it I’m afraid. Absolute rip off. Sort your pricing out.

Had lunch here on Thursday. Food was excellent. Very pleasant service. Dog friendly inside and outside. Highly recommend

Great little find in a lovely location. Lovely, friendly staff. Freshly cooked food. We indulged in a Full English with a coffee or tea. Arrived at 12.15pm but the lovely staff gave us the “special” £7.75 price even though only advertised til midday. A seriously good breakfast here. Will definitely be returning !!!!

The staff were very unfriendly, they could not be bothered about helping anyone. The milkshakes were horrible. Just flavoured milk. No ice-cream in sight. The coffee was very bitter but the mocca was good.

Tea cheap, nasty & lousy! Chips dry served in a paper bag that falls apart as soon as vinegar added! Wait far too long, people who ordered after me were getting their food 1st! Staff - miserable

Bought a bacon bap for £5.50. It was absolutely disgusting, almost raw fatty bacon served in a bap. My husband had fish and chips, we threw those away too

Wanted fish and chips for lunch, and whilst they were well cooked the portion size was very small for £14.95. The piece of fish was the width of two of my fingers and about 10 inches long. Quite the narrowest piece of fish I can remember being served. Orders are taken at a counter and then brought to your table once prepared. Customers have to collect their condiments and cutlery. Wish we had ordered the whopper Fish and Chips (£17.95) and shared it, because from the photos on TA it looks 4 times bigger than what we got.

Congratulations on serving us with the worst/driest/clingfilm wrapped carrot cake that we have ever tried to eat. The coffee was poor, although the tea was ok. The location is fantastic but the staff were basically very young and extremely childish - chasing each other around behind the counter/toilets. We certainly will not be returning to this cafe - EVER!

Ordered three portions of chips and two cheesy chips! Was told to wait out of the way even though I was the only person there! They came in paper bags that literally fell apart as soon as I put some vinegar on them. A lady then put some trays down and walked off without even saying anything. Staff were standing around joking about. Took them back to the car to eat, wish I hadn’t! Chips were crispy on the outside and hard in the middle as if they weren’t cooked! Tasted bad enough to put you of seaside chips for the rest of my life I think! Absolutely terrible and £20 for 5 portions of chips! I wouldn’t have minded the price if they were tasty chips. Can safely say we won’t order from there again!

Beautiful location but this cafe doesn't match it . The atmosphere is zero with no staff engagement. Very much a DIY service. Food was bland and expensive. Such a shame for visitors to xc. Think it needs to rebrand away from a tea room and assess its menu esp the prices

Great little restaurant. They sometimes close early if weather is overcast so get there before 3 p.m.

We visited on the 1/7/2023 going to order I was met by a very young girl looking at me and just saying "YES? " a little taken by surprise by the attitude,I placed my order of fish and chips and a curry sauce,I was given a number and told in a very rude and snidely manner to wait round the corner.After around 25 minutes and listening to the staff messing around,joking about other customers and laughing I was finally given my order by another girl,rather surprised at the state of my order I calmly looked at the girl and immediately had my head snapped off with "OH WHATS THE MATTER NOW?" So I said to her very calmly that I thought the fish was rather over cooked,she just huffed and walked away,only for me to hear her state to the chef "SHE THINKS YOUR FISH IS OVER COOKED " No one came to see me and try to rectify the situation.Being extremely hungry by then I walked off to sit on a bench to at least eat something.Trying the fish I had a mouthful of batter,grease and oil,also the chips were still raw inside and the curry sauce was thicker than a jar of pickle and tasteless.Needless to say it went into the bin. I have never been treated like that before,or have I ever tasted anything as awful as this.I do respect and understand that it can be very stressful to work in hospitality,but treating customers like this and serving food that is so far below average is just not on.If I had my way,I would not even give one star,I will never recommend this place to anyone,neither will I ever buy from there again.

I was queing for one portion of fish and chips for my partner and I to share, and I asked for a sausage as well, which we wanted to give to our dog. The service was terrible, waited ages even to be acknowledged and food when it arrived was not good. Tiny piece of fish and undercooked chips which were hard in the middle. Clearly frozen and cooked too quickly. They went into the bin. The dog enjoyed her two weeny sausages though!! I read a review from someone who said thst this place relies on transient guests which I think must be true, as I can't imagine frequenting the place if I lived locally. It's a shame because its location should make it a local gem

We stopped here on the way home from a weekend.away. Decided to get some chips for lunch. I was shocked at the price, which was 4.50 for a portion of frozen tasteless undercooked chips. Also had 2 portions of curry sauce, which came in pots nor much bigger than egg cups for 1.50 EACH!!! Not proper chips, wish we had read reviews first. Also, still using polystyrene trays and plastic pots, which is a bit behind the times and so bad for the environment.

£4 for vegan ice cream. Most expensive ice cream I've ever gotten and definitely not worth the price. Felt like I was robbed.

Tried this cute little tea house for the first time today. We certainly weren’t disappointed, had a lovely fish lunch followed by ( New Forest ice cream ) & were pleasantly surprised at the extent of the menu. Also available, apart from a good choice of coffee/tea & soft drinks, were bottles of larger & small individual bottles of wine 👍 We will definitely be back when we are next visiting our new holiday home.

Stopped by for takeaway fish and chips..... wish we hadn't bothered. Chips were either over cooked or had been refried and massively overpriced. Stood and waited 20 minutes for the pleasure too, no one mentioned this. Saw people eating much better looking "proper" chips as we walked back towards town.... not these cheap overcooked smartprice frozen chips! Make sure you look around for the better stuff. Shame, as location is perfect.

Such a lovely little cafe. Went with a disabled resident and was served by Joe. They were so lovely and aided us in getting in and out and sitting at the table too. Such a friendly and caring person who took the time to help us despite being busy. Will absolutely be going back and recommending to others. Thank you so much Joe

Friendly place, quiet in the winter so good for holding a conversation. Specialty hot chocolate comes loaded with squirty cream and marshmallows & probably quite a few calories but lovely as a special treat.

We stopped here after walking into Christchurch from home in Mudeford. The place was empty at 1.00 but we thought why not as the menu looked good. Two of us had the burgers very plain with no relish or tomato etc in. I had the soup which was steaming hot but after trying some it was warm looked like it had been put in a microwave in the bowl and not stired while cooking so hot on top but cold in the middle. Chips we had were nice though hot and crispy. When we were sat there at the table we were plagued by small fruit flies they were everywhere. The whole place looked tired and you could see where the place had not been cleaned throughly. The toilets were also blocked when using the facilities. The place is OK if you just want a hot drink or cake and sit outside but very disappointing to have a meal there.

The tearoooms have been here since I was in school. The transient non-local visitors are why it's still open, always fresh tourists to replace them. The meals are very average indeed and just about edible. Even the cakes (which look nice) are unpleasant. The only thing you can risk buying from here is New Forest ice cream - they don't make it.

Popped in for coffee and cake with family. Male member of staff barked at someone to ‘SHUT THE DOOR!’ Very loudly from behind the bar. I mentioned the hand dryer wasn’t working in the ladies and he said ‘ yes it is!’ Wow - such rudeness!! Won’t go there again !

we were enroute to our hotel in Christchurch but stopped at the Quay for lunch and kill time before check in. It was my birthday that day so chose a strawberry waffle as eating in evening. partner had a sausage bap. Both were good. no complaints. Lots of choice of waffles for £7

Staff couldn't care less. Extremely weak coffee which tasted like instant, and tasteless hot chocolate made with water instead of milk. Save your money and go a few metres to the town centre where there are plenty of really good cafes, pubs and restaurants,

We ordered from the friendly service and were given a slip of paper with a number where we could pick up the food for "take away". We waited less than 10 minutes, even though there were people in front of us and we were right in the middle of lunch time. The portions were large, the fish hot and crispy. Unfortunately, the fries were a bit mushy. But anyway, the price-performance ratio is OK.

Please don't get fish and chips from here as that's not what it should taste like, dirty oil dog wouldn't even eat it go to the boat house instead

My fiancee and I had a 45minute wait for cold fish and chips. We visited on a sunny Sunday. We decided to sit at one of their tables and were told food would be about 20-25 minutes. After half an hour my fiancee asked the waitress how much longer it would be and we were told it would be right out. After another 10 minutes I went to the till and ask and was told it was being plated up and it still took another 5 minutes to arrive. Once our food did arrive the beans were cold and so were the chips. With a drink each it came to more than £30. What we received wasn't worth £3.

Service was hit and miss. The lady who served us was fine and very helpful but some staff did not create a welcoming environment.

Lovely location on the Quomps looking over the water; the tea room itself had a nice feel and presentation. We had brunch which was a nice combination of foods. Given the location, the prices were in our opinion, acceptable, although we thought the milkshakes in particular were ridiculously expensive for the size provided. We were also disappointed there were no baby change facilities, but accept they were not advertised and there are probably limitations with the building. The biggest disappointment for us was the front of house server who spent the whole time we were there berating his staff and disrespectfully ranting about his paying clients. We may go back but would likely look for other options in town first.

Waited 20 minutes in line for the take away part of the cafe. When we reached the counter they told us it was a 45 minute wait for 2 portions of chips. They should have told us in the queue, 20 minutes was long enough but we were happy to wait for that.. but to be told when we got to the front it would be another 45, that's unacceptable. No apology from the teenage looking workers, they just laughed.

Only wanted a portion of takeaway chips. Given numbered ticket to collect order from around corner of shop. Few people ahead of me. Waiting quite a while but most people getting more complicated orders than me so kept waiting patiently. Then after people behind me in queue started getting their orders, asked when my chips would turn up. Staff member told me he didn't have my ticket number but he will do me some chips. Like he's doing me a favour, giving me the food I've paid for and waited 25 minutes for! No apology for the wait and frankly the chips weren't to my liking. Reminded me of oven chips, quite crispy. Not what I personally like but some will. I understand mistakes happen but to not even offer an apology. This shop will not get my custom again and I cannot recommend.

Friendly staff but... I had the cod and chips. The cod was ok but the chips were awful, very disappointing. My child had the kids meal which is £5.75 and the sausages were cheap and pretty nasty and once again the chips were awful. Most of it was left. I think it wouldn't be too much to have the cutlery bought to the table with the food. Instead I had to traipse back into the cafe past people queuing whilst letting the food go cold. I'm sorry but I'll definitely not be returning.

Found this little gem nestled by the Quayside whilst waiting to catch ferry so popped in for a pit stop. Excellent value for money, large cups of piping hot cappuccino (which so often arrives with an inch of froth and luke warm!) and clearly homemade...

We called in recently, late morning. The young man serving was very efficient, friendly, and completely customer focussed; if only all places had staff like that. We ordered. two small breakfasts and were impressed with the quality, and speed of service. Absolutely no complaints, and...

We were visiting Christchurch and wanted a brunch. The young man who served us was very attentive, and couldn't have been more helpful. The food was good, and came quickly. The toilets were clean and well stocked too. We will return if in the area.

Takeaway cappuccino tasted like they'd blended up the polystyrene cup it came in. One of the worst coffees I've had.

Two paninis which were barely eatable and two soft drinks coming to nearly £18. Dirty plates left uncollected on tables. It took around half an hour to wait for our food. Staff lack any sense of customer service. Avoid at all costs.

Not very pleasant to dine outside, as the queue for the takeaway stall extends around the outside dining area. Clotted cream tasted sour. Seagulls were a constant menace. One landed in our coffee whilst trying to steal our scones!!! The food was ok apart from the cream tea, however I will not return here.

Lovely friendly cafe in a lovely spot. We both had English breakfasts which were very good. Only thing - we were sat outside and noticed there were a few cigarette butts on the ground that needed sweeping up. We will visit again - better service and food than the Boathouse..

Pretty nice waffles, coffee and ice cream. Didn't try anything else but they'll also be probably good. I'll probably be back.
