Had afternoon Tea today(Sunday). The view is stunning, overlooking the golf course and the Forth. We had to wait around 10 minutes and received 4 types of sandwiches, a plain scone and fruit scone and a variety of cakes. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had- warm from the oven, the cakes were light. We received a bottle of water and large pot of tea but had to ask for glasses. The toilets were a bit more dated than the restaurant but clean

Payed more for being diabetic for less food. Stated artisan bread on the menu. It wasn’t. Payed £20 for a basic meal.

Went in with my wife while out for a drive and looking to have a nice lunch out. Was shown seat in Conservatory with gorgeous view over the Forth Estuary. Unfortunately, that’s were the positives stop. The table was stained with coffee and tea stains and was sticky to an extent that the laminated menu stuck to the table as well. Checked other tables and the same, sticky and stained. If that’s front of house didn’t wish to attempt anything out of sight so walked out. What’s wrong with table clothe if tables that bad but is not a good advert for somewhere with potential.

3 adults had the steak pie, beautifully cooked soft meat and huge portions of veg and pastry. Kids portions also huge but not sure about the quality of the nuggets 🤔 Gorgeous views from the conservatory, but only 2 people serving on a Saturday evening so service was quite slow.

We ate here twice on Sun 17th and Mon 18th of April in this hotel's restaurant with great views over the Forth and Lundin Links Golf Course. On the first night we had excellent starters and then two excellent mains Daube of Beef and Chicken Balmoral. The service was friendly and very good. To us this was a 5 star award. The second visit the next night was also very good, but this night we had mains and then pudding. We actually switched our main courses partly because we were so impressed the night before and partly due to the fact it was the same menu. The beef was very good but a slightly poorer cut maybe, with the Balmoral the sauce was quite as good as the night before. Also we had a longer wait for our order to be taken and our drinks only arrived shortly after we started our starter! The dining room seemed a little quieter the second night. The Head waitress the Sunday night was very efficient and attentive. The puddings were excellent and pulled it back to we think a 4 star meal. Unfortunately there is no 4.5 award, having eaten in Lundin and Lower Largo we would happily come back here first when come come back on holiday. Not as busy as the Crusoe but better value and quality to us.

Excellent service. Friendly and extremely helpful staff who went above and beyond to accommodate our requests - adding a last minute travel cot to a room, doubling our dinner booking at short notice - and the night porter was a great help when we arrived back late from a nearby wedding. Beautiful location and stunning views of the golf course and Firth of Forth.

We've used this restaurant on a number of occassions when we visit East Fife. It is a fairly decent menu but I always take the fish & chips. The battered haddock was cooked to perfection with the best batter that have evere tasted.

My Ceasar Salad main course with a portion of frozen chips was disappointing. The cheese was grated into the mayonnaise and did not have the taste or texture to be parmesan. The salad leaves were two different kinds, course and dark green as well as Chinese leaves which were oxidised at the end. Although paying a main course price the portion was small. I informed the waitress I would never serve salad like that at home and she replied she wouldn't either and would inform the chef. Well she may have done but nothing was done about it. My husband informed the other waitress who stated the lettuce was fresh in. Well it may have been fresh but the execution of the dish and the presentation is not what I would want my customers who have chosen to dine in a 5* hotel to accept without an apology. You would think trying to get customers to come back would be a priority.

Have visited locally many times but this was our first visit to the Old Manor. Firstly all the staff we dealt with were excellent. The menu was ok considering the limited menus we have seen else where recently, food was fine, best Cock a Leekie soup I've had in a long time and a very good cheese board. The view from the restaurant over the Forth is stunning. One gripe is only two draught beers. Will deffinately visit again as reasonably priced.

Misread the road sign that said "lunches from £7.95". Asked a table for four and found ourselves in a Sunday lunch scenarion with an increased price and upgraded menu. However, decided to stay and really hit the jackpot. Good carvery with a selection of three roasts ,with an excellent chef behind the table that had the banter as well as the skill. Ample portions, proper large yorkshire puddings and vegetable side dishes that were well cooked and displayed. Then came the dessert course. What was described as chocolate brownie and ice cream was actully a show stopper. A cross between rocky road and sticky toffee. Silence reigned as respect was paid to this masterpiece dessert. Wow! take a bow chef. Went home to sleep it off.

Pleasant old-style interior - that's all I can say positive about this restaurant. I can understand that lunch is served from 12.00 but until this hour the menu is more than modest: tea and coffee (cappuccino and americano only). No cakes or cookies. From snacks crisps and peanuts.Cold drinks and alkohol . We ordered the coffee witch we got after a few minutes - only warm and weak. In the toilet, an ordinary terry towel not very fresh.

My wife and I stayed here recently. We were given room 33 and we were told it was one of 5 rooms still to be refurbished. The room was a bit small but the views of the golf course, the Forth and the Bass Rock were lovely. Only one snag, there was no toiletries but after mentioning this to the receptionist, we were brought them within 10 minutes. The bathroom was a bit tired but other than that the room was excellent. My wife used room service for food as I had to attend something in the evening and she said it was excellent. We had a couple of drinks in the bar later in the evening and the bar/lounge were lovely and I did not think the prices were to steep for a hotel. The breakfast was excellent, in fact I thought that the haggis and black pudding was one of the best I have had. There were lovely fresh croissants plus other French pastries, ham and cheese and plenty of toast, fruit juices as well. There was a wedding on the night we stayed but we did not see/hear them much at all. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous location for an overnight stay above the golf course brilliant ocean view seaviews . The suites upstairs some have excellent seafront views. We stayed on the ground floor rooms 16 and 17 both were tastefully furnished and modern I had a the best sleep the beds were really comfy I loved the tea caddy neat and compact. We had private balcony area to sit and watch the seaviews, sat out side last night in the sun. The lounge area is modern and tastefully decorated in lovely greens and purples . Dinner was in the conservatory an excellent menu cannot fault the Thai butternut soup and succulent blade of beef the food was amazing and we were well looked after by Dimitis and his team my old restaurant manager of 24 years ago in St Andrews. The breakfast was as good as the dinner a large choice of cooked breakfasts, rolls on breakfast, loved the smoked salmon and scrambled egg and the fact you could also have smoked haddock at no extra cost. The staff are all welcoming and friendly will worth a visit and we will be back.

Above the golf course but not frequented only by golfers, this hotel is in a great location and our room had a balcony opening onto a Forth view. It was spacious with comfortable armchairs, real coffee and a bath. Dinner was the daily fish special, smoked haddock mornay and lamb rump with fresh vegetables, followed by rhubarb and ginger cheesecake and a chocolate torte. As we dined we looked over the water and the late evening golfers on the course below. Breakfast was from a good range including fresh fruit salad, croissants, smoked salmon and smoked haddock.

We did not stay at this hotel, but a group of ten of us gathered to hold a lunch and murder mystery party at the Old Manor, to celebrate a significant birthday. We had the use of a private room, which was very conveniently located near a bar and bathrooms. The coordinator efficiently sent us a written account of details beforehand; she had very obviously been in charge of this type of event many times in the past. She suggested that we have canopies (our choice from a list) and drinks in a lounge while we arrived and mingled, which worked out well, before moving into our own space for a main meal, which was quickly served. The dishes were removed and we were able to keep the private room (I understand three of them of varying sizes are available) for as long as we wished without any interruptions. It was perfect for our purposes. The hotel was busy, including a wedding party, and I can see why. The staff were polite and pleasant all the time, even though some of our group arrived ridiculously early and others were stuck in roadworks and arrived late. There was never a hint of annoyance. We were lucky that the day was clear and sunny so that we could take advantage of magnificent views.

Never been before and was looking forward to an evening meal with some friends , a bit of a let down to say the least , the menu was quite basic, not what you would expect from a hotel that advertises its self as a wedding venue but i managed to order something that should be straight forward locally landed east neuk haddock and chips @ £13.00 should be good ( although fish has never been landed in the east neuk for a long long time ) bit false advertising there , however fish and chips , great what could go wrong the fish was good but there is something far wrong when a hotel can't make its own chips they serve the frozen variety not just any frozen variety but probably the cheapest ones, most of the chips on my plate were over cooked and inedible the desert menu was very limited also very poor Cant see me visiting here again in the future there is better locally including some cafes that do better

But the restaurant... what a disaster. it is a pity as the scenery was also nice and place ok, but in my case, almost everything went wrong.First of all, the waiter tips off my wine glass, just after tasting and refilling. OK, these thing happend and luckily it was a white wine, so no disaster, but was unpleasent of course. But no compensation or new refill or anything was offered to compensate.I ordered mussels, with garlic and parsley & jacket potatoes. What I received was mussles with leek! No garlic and a very small hint of parsley, just enough to mention that there was something green in it. But, leek is not the same as garlic! I was finishing my leek mussels and asked where were the jacket potatoes. They have forgotten and promised to bring me ones soonest. Some time after finishing mussels, I received small bucket of chips, not jacket potatoes.SO, about everything went wrong at this service and have to say they really need to improve the restaurant to be on the same level with hotel offering.Gordon, they would really need your help in this place, please...! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g644368-d191916-r510393796-Old_Manor_Hotel-Lundin_Links_Fife_Scotland.html#

This was made possible by the receptionist CJ who emailed me before our visit to change our room to the ground floor as I'm not good with stairs this was really helpful to me. On the first evening we ate in the Restaraunt and what we had was not bad but not startling. I asked the waiter about the following days menu and he said apart from the fish of the day and the soup the menu was always the same. As I didn't like anything on the rest of the menu we ate out for the rest of our stay. The breakfast on the other hand was brilliant and had a wide selection of choices and it was all cooked well. Visited with friends and family for early evening meal. You don't often see liver and onions on a menu and whilst I realise it wouldn't be everyone's first choice, I cook it myself at home occasionally and was interested to see what a professional chef would do with it. Quite how you cook liver to the consistency of warm, sloppy pate is beyond me. The roast beef ordered by some of the others had clearly been kept warm(ish) all day to a dryness and consistency approaching leather and was accompanied by potatoes which claimed to be roasted but certainly didn't fit that description. The shortcomings were mentioned twice to a clearly disinterested waitress, but since we didn't want to embarrass our friends I didn't push it any further. For the premium prices being charged this meal was an insult. Any chef allowing this rubbish to leave their kitchen must have lost all self respect and there is clearly no quality control by anyone in authority. I certainly will not be back and suggest you avoid it too.

Dessert, never had a pannacotta that was almost frozen, told waitress who took them away and brought menu back to us. We both decided on plain old ice cream, 3 small scoops with a twirl of chocolate and a little blackberry compote, nice, but took almost half an hour to get it. We are older so the portions were more than adequate for us but would not be so for a younger hungry person! The food was lovely, well presented, very friendly staff and we certainly will be returning there.

When the food came to the table it was delivered on mass to each table so that table had the food at the same time. Excellent organisation by the waiters and kitchen staff. The standard of the food was nothing but the best. Some family decided to stay at the hotel and they all said the rooms were exceptional. The hotel has in recent months went through a very progressive up grade, which in my mind has only enhanced their standards. Well done Old Manor.

We ate in the restaurant during our stay in the hotel. I had scallops, steak and cheeseboard all in the DBB package which was good. Before the meal started we were given an amuse bouche of smoked salmon and beetroot which was a nice start. The scallops were served with a celeriac puree, apple and black pudding. The puree was nice but i found the apple to be very sour which wasn't pleasant and the chef had left the skin on the black pudding which i really don't like! Before the mains came out we were given an intermediate of lemon sorbet served in a shot glass which cleansed the palate for our main courses. My steak was very well cooked and had a great flavour and was a very good portion size. The cheeseboard dessert was a nice finish to the meal with a malt whisky from the range. There were a couple of downsides to the meal however which included one of the waiters biting his fingers or fingernails as he approached the table to take an order, not very hygienic. The other was I was served a malt whisky in a glass which had just been taken out of the glass washer which is really bad!

Hotel is nice old fashioned one. Our room was quite small and bathroom was little bit strange. But stuff is friendly and food is fine.

Like many other reviews the view is stunning from the large conservatory. That is where the good ends. The food was okay just okay that could be equalled or surpassed in multiple local bars at a lower cost. The hotel is in dire need of upgrading its very dated.I won't rush to return.

The conservatory restaurant has lovely views over the Forth. The lunch with friends was very pleasant. Most of us had haggis croquettes to start and battered or breaded haddock for the main course. We enjoyed the setting on a sunny afternoon. No desserts took our fancy but we had coffee in the lounge which was a mistake in retrospect as a wedding paty was also in the lounge. Still, we would go back there.

The situation is good and the food is good too as is the price, but it is all spoilt by the lack of Staff. I stopped here before just for coffee and a snack and thought that the lack of service was due to that, sadly I did not improve when we stopped for lunch.

Nice to get inside to the warm friendly setting away from the cold, wind and rain.Sitting in the conservatory next to the window, couldn't hear the wind or rain and the temperature was just right. Staff were friendly and attentive but it was fairly quiet on the evening we attended. Food was excellent.I have been to the Old Manor a few times as I stay in the village and it has always been a very enjoyable experience. The interior is well maintained but more attention could be paid to the surface of the car park.Fantastic setting on a sunny day, summer or winter

Having lunched here in the past we were surprised by the size of the fish served this time which was by no exaggeration much bigger than a fish finger.I accept that two courses for £9.95 is reasonable but not for that meagre plateful.Would have to be desperate to return.

Had lunch here on a beautiful summer's day.The setting was perfect with views over Lundin Links GC and over the Forth to East Lothian. The food was excellent too - a varied menu offerd a good choice. The food itself was very good and service was just about the right pace. All in all a lovely visit and excellent value for money.

Went here for lunch with friends. Very nice food and good service. Views to die for. They don't mind bringing a jug of iced water to the table either, which is always good in my books as I don't drink and don't like fizzy stuff.

This was the first time we'd tried the Sunday Carvery at the Old Manor Hotel. We didn't book and were lucky to get the last table - I do recommend you book a table to avoid being disappointed. The room was lovely with glass along one side giving a wonderful view over a golf course, the bay, the Firth of Forth, the Bass Rock and the East Lothian coast. Although this is a carvery, the menu has others items such as fish and chips or a vegetarian option. We went for the carvery. There is a nice choice of starters - we both chose the tomato soup which came with a very good cheese scone. The carvery had beef, gammon and pork - one could choose two slices either from the same roast or one slice from two different roast meats. There was Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes to go with any of the carved meats. For vegetables there was green cabbage, red cabbage and root vegetables. Having two of the three vegetables as cabbage seemed a little unimaginative (I don't like cabbage!). There was gravy and a good selection of sauces. It was an excellent meal which we very much enjoyed. The gammon was really top quality. We didn't have a dessert since the two courses were generous. The coffee was pleasantly flavoured but rather weak and watery - it would have been a better end to a great meal if the coffee had been stronger.

My wife and I recently popped in on the passing to have lunch. In all fairness we had not booked as it was purely a spur of the moment decision and, I fully understand, accept and appreciate that when a restaurant is busy they sometimes cannot accept walk-ins and must turn them away. However, what I will categorically not accept is to be directed through to a restaurant, by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, to then be kept standing waiting for five minutes to then have an extremely arrogant, rude and ignorant Restaurant Manager stop on the passing, with platefuls' of other patrons food, to bark in an aggressive tone "have you booked?" and, when we replied no (and before I could finish my sentence I might add) to have him dismissively turn his back while saying "we're fully booked" and walking away from us.Never in my life have I encountered less professionalism and greater disrespect than here. I shall be writing to the AA and the RAC asking them to review the rosette status of this hotel. In the meantime I would recommend staying clear of this establishment until training standards improve or a professional Restaurant Manager is sourced.

Decided to treat my gran to a High Tea on my day off, the food and venue were good but had to laugh when I noticed that I was being charged £3.10 for cordial and tap water. I had to ask if that was the correct price, I am all for businesses making more profit on some items than others but the profit margin on this must have been higher than some Payday Loans.

My in-laws ate here 'by accident' two nights previous, after finding their more local choice full (we were in the area just for the weekend). They were so impressed that they booked us all in for Sunday lunch. The hotel is quite grand and traditional. Dark wood furniture, heavy framed portraits, deep-pile carpets, staff dressed in white shirts and black bottoms. Everything suggests quality and rightly so.The lunch menu was short but (we selected everything from it) really packed a flavoursome punch. We all thought the food excellent. I ate from the carvery and whilst the meat was beautifully soft, it was the well-seasoned vegetables that caught my attention. These are so often a soggy, cold accompaniment but someone had taken lots of pride in preserving the colour and texture of the vegetables. The brightness and crunch of the cabbages (red & green) was noticeable and they were seasoned beautifully. I could have eaten a plateful. The staff are very polite and asking for anything (more gravy, another jug of water) was met with a soft, warm "it's not a problem."Our lunch was just over £15 for two courses and just over £17 for three. For the food, location - ah such a great view over the golf course and cycle path of the Firth... - decent wine and service, this is absolutely deserved. It soon got busy, so I would recommend booking in advance. All the tables had a view. My one problem is that it is so far away from home.

It is many years since I had been for a meal in this local hotel as it had lost its way. Having changed hands and been to.d to give it a go we took the plunge. What a treat. A great menu with lots of choice, including a gluten free section should you need it. Good sized portions, but most of all delicious. The staff were excellent, very friendly without being in your face. We will most certainly be back

Tried this venue while out for a drive. Turned out to be an excellent lunch. The staff were very helpful and nice and and though the lunch time menu was small the food was very good and thought a reasonable price.Excellent views across the river and golf course. Overall a very good meal at good price.

The edge of the food (and price tag) was taken off by the slow and rather snobby service received by the maitre d. I feel as we had our children with us, we were rather 2nd class. Ten mins to get drink. A further 15 for sons starter. No clearance of table for another ten minutes. After 40 mins we finally had our carvery. Good quality though more vegetables all round (greens? ) would be better. Perhaps our money wasn't good enough but the food was tasty if only we hadn't felt so ignored.

Having previously been for the carvery, when we were seated in a pokey room off the conservatory and received mediocre service from the waiting staff, we were unsure about going back. After waiting over a year and feeling guilty about not making enough use of local businesses, we decided to be brave and we popped in for a lunch. The lunch deal was well priced and, although the fish portion looked a little on the small side, it was filling and tasty with light and crispy batter. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious and as always, the view is delightful. Much more impressed with the staff this time around, the girls serving us were lovely and attentive. Will be back again, thanks :)

I live very locally to the Old Manor and had been intending to try the Sunday lunch carvery for a long time. I know the hotel well having been there for business and various receptions so was looking forward to a nice meal overlooking the Forth from the conservatory. Booked well in advance and checked that the carvery was to be held in the conservatory. Was therfore extremely disappointed to be heralded away from the conservatory even though there was a table available. We were seated in a fairly dingy dining room and had to walk through to the conservatory to get our food.....only to find there was an available table. When we asked about this we were told that it was booked for 4.30 (two hours later). It was clear to us that the table was already booked and laid out for high tea and the staff weren't minded to change. Rather than make a huge fuss we just carried on pretty disgruntled by this stage....but hoping the food would be of a class which rendered the dining location a moot point. Safe to say the food was fairly average, pub standard stuff....no better than your average Toby Carvery. In fact arguably slightly worse in terms of the range. All in all, local or not, we probably won't be back.

Arranged to meet friends here for a lunch and a catch up. This is a very popular visit with very pleasant surroundings through a very large conservatory contributing to a very well lit area. There are a number of tables within the conservatory and your extensive menu is on the table. There are hot and cold food choices ordered at the server and brought to your table. We opted for chicken and rice soup and tomato and vegetable soup. To accompany the soup we ordered cheese and onion toasties and cheese and ham. We had carrot cake put aside for later that was the last of it. The chicken soup had a distinct homemade stock flavour with generous amounts of chicken through the rice and veg. The toasties came with crisps and side salad and coleslaw on the side. They were very well cooked with a generous filling. Finally the piece de resistance the home baking carrot cake came bursting with flavour very moist and topped with a very sweet icing. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

When the weather turns cold, shops closed, you don’t want a restaurant, just a cuppa, Alexander and George will make you welcome. Enticed by the chips! Feel much better now. Thanks guys!

Great location on the Old Course. Beautiful modern terrace on the top floor with stunning views across the fairways to the sea. So wanted to like this place but were disappointed. Food was standard golfing fare - steaks and lobster - OK but nothing special . Wine list reasonable for price and choice. What lets the place down is the lack of management oversight. Tables with broken legs, jet lagged golfers asleep in the lobby, incredibly noisy ambience all overseen by a well meaning but overwhelmed serving staff. Not what you expect when paying $400 for a meal for two. Dinner took three and a half hours. We had to track down staff to order wine, coffee and get the check. Could be a good dining alternative to the Old Course Hotel but its let down badly by the service. Seems its owned by one of those absentee investment companies and it shows .

What a venue !! Charming with a historical room to be seen to be believed (clipper room) ! I cannot say enough about the owners and staff who made me feel welcomed and could not do enough ! I was there for a music gig with friends and the music room venue was brilliant , atmospheric and intimate ! The hotel is in a lovely location with historical sites , coastal walks and a golf course nearby.
