Stopped in for a few drinks and some dirty fries. Service was non existent as you order from an app on the table. Strawberry mojito was ok but expensive. Pint selection was limited Dirty fries with pulled pork and jalapeño was very good

I would like to give Tia an excellent for customer service and the most friendliest and very professional. Keep up the good work. Also the bar itself is fantastic with all great employees!! I would give today’s experience at the old Havana 10/10. Thank you for having us.

Great atmosphere. Lots of TV’s to watch sporting events. Delicious tapas serviced at good prices. Service a bit slow. Non-existent at the bar and by app slow too, but didn’t detract from overall visit. Ladies loo a bit of a let down. 1 cubicle out of order, 1 with no lock leaving only 1 for a bar full of ladies! Get that fixed guys!

I was very confused by the bottomless brunch that was booked for 9 friends and myself. Was constantly told different information in terms of the offer by different staff. Very inconsistent and confusing. The staff didn’t seem to know themselves. Food was poor and the drinks average. No staff were wearing masks and there was no sanitiser readily available. No soap in the men’s toilets and the toilets seat was missing in one and broken lock in another of the women’s toilets. Not a very enjoyable experience and would not return.

We booked bottomless cocktails and the whole experience was fantastic. After a terrible evening the night before in a well known cocktail bar this is a must for everyone.

We popped in for a drink as we noticed that they were serving 3 cocktails for £10. Once someone noticed that we had arrived, we were told that it was a very limited choice. We ordered and I asked if they had any snacks. We were give some plantain chips on the house - they were not good. The drinks took ages to arrive and, considering the place was nearly empty, this was surprising.. All I have to say about the cocktails were that they were very heavy with the orange juice for our tequila sunrises. We drank up and left.

Just stumbled upon this place while looking for a lightish bite to eat at the end of the day and we were very impressed! 3 very tasty tapas for £10 and about 25 to choose from. A large glass of Pinot, a pint of decent lager and a pink lemonade (only complaint really as this wasn't really worth the £4.50 price tag) Anyway, all for under £50 for the 3 of us! Lovely surroundings and very friendly, welcoming staff. Thank You 😊

One of the best pubs near by to the Cardiff castle and city centre. The ambience, food is quite good. The staff is very helpful and polite. Special mention to one of their staff, Flora, she has sound knowledge about the drinks and is best at what she does! Looking forward to visit soon again.

I visited Old Havana for a date today and the service was absolutely incredible, the servers we’re on the ball with everything and couldn’t have been more helpful. The drinks were to an Incredible standard, despite being understaffed we never had to wait for anything! Ollie and Kirsty always made sure we had everything we needed! Food was made to a amazing standard, you can tell the people who hold this place together really take pride in what they are doing. Will definitely be coming back for some more of the 3 for £10 cocktails and tapas!

Danielle was amazing to us all night. She is an incredible, polite, well mannered waitress and I couldn’t have ask for any better.

I'm am absolutely disgusted at the service at this place, my husband and i are celebrating our wedding anniversary this evening. We had two cocktails and were chatting quietly together. And were told to leave because we had to much to drink! I'm 45 years old and have never been treated so disrespectfully. Please train your staff. No excuse awful.

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, in the sunshine, very friendly staff, we're very welcoming and engaging. A good selection of drinks including 3 for £10 cocktails. Lovely way to while away the afternoon

Me and my friend arrived five minutes prior to our booking so I wasn’t expected to be seated right away (especially as it was fully booked inside). As expected the waitress told us to find a table outside and told us someone would come get us when our table was ready. Ten minutes later and nothing yet so the lovely bouncer went and got a member of staff to let us know what was going on with our table. They said that they don’t know why we were told to wait outside and then asked us to point out the waitress and said that they had basically forgotten about us! The lady who was front of house was very apologetic and said we should receive our drinks straight after ordering them for our inconvenience. Usually at old havana they have a range of cocktails on the 3 for £10 / 3 for 2 cocktails however last night they only had 3 cocktails and a beer in the deal. The drinks were nice enough but still took at least 15 minutes to come out to us. We finished our drinks fairly quick and still had a whole hour left on our booking we both agreed we would get another cocktail. We tried to get the staffs attention but they either ignored us or said “your waitresses will be with you shortly”. More time had passed and no one had come to serve us so we just asked for the bill. When receiving the bill one of the staff members had been apologetic explaining how they were short staffed and only had three people running the floor (even though we had been ignored by four different waitresses). I said our experience wasn’t great and I wouldn’t be returning any time soon and she just apologised. I understand during covid there may be problems with staffing etc but to be ignored and forgotten about is no excuse.

Flora was absolutely amazing ensuring we never ran out of drinks with covid table service. I had some amazing cocktails which I highly recommend ordering a surprise! Spot on service from all!

Shame they are serving poor food and awful cocktails! Nothing authentic about this place, the cocktails are completely watered down, no flavour, just awful. Whereas the tapas, extremely poor. My husband and I visited this place a couple of weeks ago .We were greeted by a very nice young man who was friendly.The menu was very good with some deals of tapas.The price was good and the food tasted very nice.The food did not take too long and the member of staff checked we were happy.Beer and wine were not particularly good value for money being the only slightly negative thing I can say but even then there are deals to be had on drinks but seems to cater for larger parties than just a couple of people.Will definitely go back but with friends to take the offer of cocktails and food.Lovely decor and I would imagine very popular in nicer weather as there is outdoor seating.

Always have the best time at Old Havana. Great cocktails (recommend Sam's Espresso Martini's every day of the week) friendly team, and food's been massively improved recently. Can't go wrong.

Called on Saturday afternoon for lunch! The atmosphere was lovely however service was really slow from bringing the menus to taking orders to actually bringing out the food! Portions not big enough for price! Maybe good for cocktails but not for food! Very disappointing for all three of us!

We had a great night in old Havana with a large group. Loved the decor, we had a great DJ, and the drinks were excellent at a reasonable price. Tapas was great too.

30 of us arrived after the Cardiff 10k ordered food waited an hour only to be told that what we ordered was no longer available, not amused 😡

It was the day after the big Wales/Ireland rugby match - everyone was out of food and booze. But, the kind folks at Old Havana fed us and watered us nicely. Thanks!

I went out for a few drinks last week. I popped into this establishment and had a look through the menu. One bartender whos name i think was Danielle(guy with purple hair) Recommended a few cocktails. another bartender sam then made the drinks for me. they both served up an excellent service and the drinks were wonderful. I would highly recommend this bar for a night out or even a light lunch. I even came back for some food a few days later

While the drinks were nice, as expected for price, the man who served me was just plain ride. He had a awful receding hairline so if you get him you'll know what I mean! He was very aggressive and impolite when I asked him to 'put a bit less Ice in the drink'.started getting very impatient when I asked him to repeat a question. Then he proceeded to keep asking me sarcastically if I wanted more Ice. Just really put me off.

Good location. Ok drinks, a bit weak, 25ml shots compared to 35ml most places and 44 in good place. Biggest problem was with surly bartender who seemed to take it personal if you ask to have the drink you are paying for, the way you want rather than how he thinks it should be made. Got aggressive about it. Mixology training is good but customer satisfaction more important. What’s more important to the owner?

After going to the bar just to check the promotional deal was on (or true to what my friend said) we especially made the trip to the bar the next day. Only to be told that despite the offer saying all day every day they could not give it to us. Disgusting that they told me they knew that’s what it said but it didn’t matter, and I told them we came especially. As we left they were taking the massive A1 sign down, really disappointed and defo telling all my friends at university not to go there !

Went here at the weekend and bought the sandwich/ cocktail deal online. When we arrived after booking food menus were out on the tables and the there were signs outside advertising their lunch offers. Went to order the food well within the times advertised. The staff were ridiculously slow (I understand it’s a cocktail place but the staff are too focused on chatting to one another and the particular chap who “served me” made it feel like i was a total inconvenience to his chat with his work mate - again I understand people need a bit of banter at work but this was just plain rude) anyway.. I explained I had purchased the deal online and his response was “oh yeah we stopped serving food it’s all gone wrong” (there were about 2/3 people in the kitchen just stood around chatting) so I said there’s literally no signs anywhere saying so and all your menus are out etc. All I got in response was literally a shrug of the shoulders. So I said okay well I’ve bought this deal what can I do?! He said “I don’t really know to be honest”. By this point I was absolutely stunned that no alternative was suggested e.g no food but I can give you drinks up the same value or let me ask my manager how we could help. But no just a simple “I dunno what to suggest” by this point I just wanted to get out so said okay I’ll see if I can get a refund and the guy just responded with “okay no worries”. I’m not fussed the place wasn’t serving food I just couldn’t get over how unhelpful he was and how much he was lacking in people skills for someone working in a nice bar. Sat on the phone to the lovely people from wriggle and they were great, despite having nothing to do with the situation they were amazing and apologised on behalf of the bar.. meanwhile I watched food being served to others(?!?!) and still the food menus weren’t taken away. Common sense surely?!?! I watched 3 more tables arrive and try and order food but came back disappointed...

3-4-1 mojitos and daquiries..... Enough said 👏 Staff are fantastic and knowledgable too. The decor is vibrant and colourful with a Cuban influence

Popped into the old Havana pub for some cocktails. Over 300 to choose from (341 to be exact) the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the drinks that were available. Old American car in the seating area gives great character to the venue.

We visited on a very quiet Sunday night for the 341 cocktails and ended up being the only 3 people there. The bar tenders were great, really friendly, knowledgeable and really enthusiastic. The cocktails they made were delicious and we even had a go at shaking our own! Thank you for getting our Sunday evening off to a great start!

Had been looking forward to here for some time but didn't care for the rude staff so decided to go elsewhere.

I have been here a few times recently and each time the service has been great. Lovely waitress called Carly is a real asset to this bar always happy and nothing is too much effort for her. I have booked online and wales in each time we have been given great service. This is a great place for a night out in Cardiff, especially during happy hour!

Walking down saint Mary street and spotted Old Havana. When we decided to go in there was such a warm welcome. The bar staff asked us to sit down and they'll be over to attend to us. Within 2 minutes they came over with personal recommendation which helped us and explain about 341. They were very welcoming and friendly. We moved table before the order came and they accommodate us. Then come to check if we were okay and needed anything else. Marco served us and made sure we felt right at home. We asked us about food and suggested nachos as we also drinking, perfect snack. Also kept serving us brilliantly and on times. Super friendly and accommodating, defo will come back absolutely fabulous !!!! Xxx

Had such a great night! Great atmosphere. Loved the music and the staff were lovely. Don't visit Cardiff without a few drinks at Old Havana! We were served by several great staff that evening but Sam and Dan really stood out as a good duo to make all our cocktails - will definitely be back when we're next all together!

A nice bar with friendly staff and fast service. Seems to be more aimed at a cocktail bar with lots of deals on for larger groups.

5 friends popped in this little find after being to a new venue on st mary street which we left as no organisation and extremely long waits for queues.

Me and my friends popped in for a few drinks after seeing the car outside. We had some of the 3-4-1 strawberry daiquiris served by Liam who was very attentive and the drinks were great value for money.

We have been to Old Havana, Cardiff, a couple of times and each time we have enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and friendly service. It is cosy, with character, and both times we have been served by Carly who treated us wonderfully and made sure that we enjoyed our time there - she has the perfect combination of being friendly, professional and helpful - we will definitely be back!

This is a brand new, very warm and atmospheric bar that has recently opened up in Cardiff. I was lucky to be invited to the opening night where we were given tasters of there cocktail and food menus. The attendees witnessed the cocktail mixing skills of the Assistant Manager Taylor Paton
