Old Farmhouse - Hungry Horse (Scunthorpe) in North Lincolnshire

Very nice meal, staff very friendly, and near M180 east and west, also to you truckers there's limited parking Spot's for artic,s with Macky Ds and shopping centre over the road , so if you're like me a artic driver who is ignored by every council and high ways departments then you can park up, but not 🚫 for a 9 or 11.

Great place for family at a budget. We had Sunday dinner and used the soft play area. Kids had a fun time, and we could relax. Staff are helpful and proactive.

Very very busy Sunday lunch time. We were told 20 min wait for food. Bang on 20 mins our 3 different meals were served at the same time. The food was delicious & hot. The servers were very pleasant

Just been for lunch ordered the haddock fishcakes was lovely until there was a big bone in it, I told one of the older servers who asked if I wanted something else, no apology or anything, disgusting will never go back stay well clear.. a child could have had that

Food took 1.30 hours and was not fit to eat .There were 3 of us, and we ordered 3 Sunday dinners, and it was Sunday, so you think it would ok. The roast beef had been in a microwave it was steaming on the plate. The green beans looked like they had gone off very dark in colour , gravy was like past.we did get our money back, and that's the only good thing about the meals

Came at lunch as we have before. This time not impressed. Ordered off main menu not the cheap £6 deals. We ordered mini mixed grill and smothered steak medium. Steak was not medium, the mixed grill was very overcooked, gammon was not juicy as normal chicken breast had a overcooked skin on outside, same with sausages. Overall our Impression was not good and will mean that our next lunch may well be elsewhere. Glass washer not cleaning glasses well took mine back for an exchange as some form of residue from washer on inside of glass the replacement was not much better. On this day did not live up to our previous visits

One of the friendliest pubs around, foods always great and staff beyond friendly always up for a laugh and a joke. Would recommend!!

Lovely family pub, we go quite often with our family, my grandchildren love the play area and the staff in there are great and always have a smile on their faces. We eat here alot, food is always fantastic with good portion sizes, overall it's a good pub with a good atmosphere. Their entertainment nights are also fun

Popped in last minute for a family celebration and were not disappointed. We were seated very quickly in a lovely corner near the fireplace. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We all had 2 courses, with no complaints. Everything was served quickly by friendly amd happy colleagues. Will be back soon!

The wacky warehouse side is fantastic for kids and great you can also order the same restaurant food through there too. Overall the food is okay, nothing spectacular but good value for money

Called here for the first time. I went to order the food. Fish and chips for the wife but was informed that there was no fish. I ordered gammon and was informed there was no gammon. Little disappointed although I must say the staff were very nice.

We sat outside because it isn't dog friendly. Unfortunately even though it's part of the "Green King" franchise there's no real ale and although there're a multitude of lager brands there is only one beer! The food is good with plenty of variety and a special offer for every day of the week. Wheelchair accessible and toilets are available. There's a decent carpark and it's a good idea to avoid match days as it's the nearest pub to the local football ground!

Surprisingly good food and very quickly served. The Katsu curry sauce is really tasty. Lots of parking and not too noisy outside.

Had 2 burgers for the price of one. It's a deal they do on Fridays. Never been before so was well impressed as the burgers were homemade. Was busy but staff made sure we had everything we needed. Good family pub

Visited for breakfast in a Sunday, coffee served quickly and a little wait for breakfast - we had the 'Super special breakfast'. All good, super hot except for the sausage. Soon removed and replaced with fresh by Natasha, no drama and happy to sort it for us. Visit quite often and always good food and excellent service from all. Worth a visit.

Farmhouse is absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere and amazing service, everyone is so friendly and remembers you when you attend.

First time in for a long while enjoyed our Sunday dinner,Menu looked pretty good, will pop back and try something else on the menu.

9th 8 24 .got there around 16 05 had ordered food for 16.13 . Wife order Carling mushroom starter . It came to table in good time . We noticed it had a human hair in it wife said don't say anything so I didn't. She then had to remind them twice we hadn't received meals by means of waiter doing rounds and then to ryan at the counter. Got meals at 17.15 . Disappointed after being a ex member of greene King. Bought 2 family friends it was embarrassing.

I have no idea what everyone else was choosing off the menu that was so great but our food was bloody awful - burnt veg and chicken in breadcrumbs that was so overdone and chewy it was surprising we didn't have dental issues trying to eat it. Really disappointing - won't be going back. The staff were nice and friendly though.

This is a great place to eat, especially if you want something before going to a show at the Scunthorpe Baths. Would recommend the large mixed grill.

Absolutely appalling service. Wrong order given, 1 of our family had their order cancelled unknown to them , so they would have had to sit and watch us eat someone else's order, then after asking to speak to the manager she said Salmon was on the menu, after being told it wasn't by the waitress, it was asked for by a family member with special dietary needs. We asked for a refund, it took her 15mins to do it . We said we were going to go somewhere else, and she actually said that we'd get the same service at any other pub in Scunthorpe, as they were all franchises. We didn't, we got great service at The Anchor. We've also cancelled an up and coming birthday meal there, we'll go to The Anchor. Our family visit doesn't even deserve 1 star. Totally incompetent service on Sunday july 7th. They were back and forth, messing up everyone's orders. She even rolled her eyes when my husband politely asked for the refund. You don't just cancel someone's order, only to tell them when you serve part of a family meal🤷‍♀️ Absolutely unbelievable. We used to come here when the kids were younger. Never again.🤦‍♀️ The Manager claimed it was a complete mix up due to a new menu. Not the fact that it was bad service from start to finish.

Came here last night Tuesday, the evening meal was exceptionally good, prices were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and ready to help for anything. However, breakfast today Wednesday was extremely disappointing. Eggs were pre cooked and dry, scrambled eggs were dry and not mixed properly, and my bacon was missing. Staff were good and explained the chef was new. As a qualified chef I rate breakfast 2/10 Chef needs a kick up his bum as he is lazy. Nobody nobody deep fries sausages for breakfast. Rant over.

Visited early evening today , ordered 4 chicken katsu banquet ( which I have had a few times now) also a kids meal , we had send kids meal back to change as nuggets , carrot sticks and cucumber were all dried up and horrible , the 4 other meals came out , they were nothing like the ones I had in past , ( it was like only enough chips and rice had been done for 2 and it had been stretched to 4 , also one of plates the seasoning was horrendous ( like the lid had come of and gone all over ) , I eat here a lot times and have never complained but today was the worst meal I have ever had , I don’t know why katsu curry was so different, but not good , really rhink should. Get free meal or discount cos of how bad it was o. Night

Natasha was brilliant. Looked after all our needs and even put balloons and a banner on the table for a 12th Birthday. Food was great, service was quick, lovely choice of mocktails. Great atmosphere and very clean. Thank you!!

Service is the best asset, food medium quality but to be honest , the relationship between the price and the food is very good. You cannot expect premium quality for these prices, the service is outstanding and makes you to feel like with the family despite the food is not the best.

Excellent food in a nice atmosphere from lee&staff

I support three wonderful, funloving adults with learning and physical disabilities. We attend Old Farmhouse quite regularly but always on tge first Tuesday of the month when they have the Dine and Dance session with a live singer. My guys absolutely love it. We attend with friends so usually a group of 8-12 of us. They spend most of the afternoon on the dance floor and absolutely love it when the singer interacts with them or sings their requested song! Most have been very obliging. The meals are good and are great value. The staff are beyond wonderful and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and they'll often join in with a little dance if there's room and they've a moment to spare! They are very busy! My lovely gang love playing the Macmillan bingo too and are excited to hear how much has been raised. We hope these sessions continue as they really are a true highlight of the month for us.

What a fantastic dining experience. The motto on posters around the pub says that they would like you to leave with a smile - consider that a job well done and then some. Smart and clean presentation the second you walk in with a lovely atmosphere - you feel immediately welcome. I went for the full monty mixed grill and I can truthfully say that every single item on my plate (plenty enough that there were) was done to perfection. The staff are so friendly and happy to help. I must give a huge shout out to Mandy for making it such a lovely time - She not only served with a genuine warmth but went out of her way to make sure everything was right - especially for my elderly Mum. Thank you all for a fantastic dinnertime that brightened the day. Deserves more than 5 stars.

The veggi roast can only be called rank. Whatever the "protein" part was supposed to be was cold but burnt Roast spuds tasted like they were left over from last years Xmas dinner A thimble of gravy I've never had brown green beans before... I won't again.

I ordered Jerk chicken and wings. The chicken looked and tasted OK on the outside but was absolutely stone cold in the centre. I took the plate back and asked if I could order something else, they said no as they were already cooking me a replacement. Several other customers had a similar problem with chicken dishes while we were there, some of them were offered refunds or the chance to order something different, so I fail to understand why this wasn't an option for me.

Food was OK but could have been better

Visited today for breakfast. Took some time for food to come out and when it did it was cold to luke warm. The cleaner was dusting the ceiling whilst food was out, so as you can imagine falling onto meals.

Food was brilliant, service was excellent, atmosphere was excellent. We will call again soon, thank you.

Very good food and good value for money I will definitely be back I have been a cupple of times I normally come on my own and the staff are always happy to help with anything I need thy are also friendly. It's a nice day out, or evening out for something quick to eat all the staff are happy to help Natasha is always happy to help if you need anything.😊

Food disgusting found egg shell in my egg after I had already eaten part of it 🤢 even the chips and peas wasn’t cooked. Raised a dispute still awaiting a real solution to the situation.

Very disappointing. Was staying in the Travelodge next door and thought I would pop on for something to eat. Inside it was relatively quiet being about 7.50 on a Sunday evening but I was disappointed to see lots of dirty tables and not much effort being made to clear them. Was also not greeted by anyone and there was no clear indication apart from a small sign about what to do. The menu options were OK and decided on the 8oz rump steak. With hindsight should have known a steak at 10.99 would not be very good. It arrived with a charred exterior and was as tough as old boots despite being cooked to medium rare. The steak knife provided was not sufficient enough to cut it. The first mouthful was so tough I had to use a napkin to dispose of it and the other mouthfuls were not much better. In the end there was quite a bit left on the plate. An extra portion of fries was also served despite not being ordered. The only redeeming part was the peppercorn sauce was tasty and the chips were good but the rest was terrible or even inedible. Would not recommend ordering this or eating at this establishment again

It's Hungry Horse. If you've been in one, you've been in them all. Plenty of seating and quick service.

We are regulars to the Old Farmhouse & today we had a couple of problems with our order... No worries, but Ben went above & beyond to help to resolve the issues, even though he was not meant to be on food service. Thank you Ben for your hard work & dedication to ensuring great customer service! PS: We don't have a favourite but if we had to choose... Shhhhh... It would be you! 😉

The lady was very kind and helped us out with getting the pool table sorted out after some unruly customers rendered it out of use, so I'd say five stars for Natasha's service today :)

Visited after 2pm Monday 23rd Jan 24 . Didn't stay. The door from the bar to behind the scenes saw a lot of coming and going and everytime someone went out or came in the door banged. Looking for a convenient seat we eventually became locked in on the banging door waiting for the next bang and decided to leave as it woud have been too distracting. Went to the Queensway instead.

Previously I would have said it was a lovely place for the food, but unfortunately it's been terrible on the last 2 separate occasions, the food has been well over cooked that you just couldn't eat it, resulting my partner & I to leave it all, we stayed quiet when the staff member collected the plates in a bid for her to ask us what we thought, but she didn't ask us about our meal, other than to ask if it was OK to clear the plates & given the amount of food that was left, it was so blatantly obvious.

Awesome music, friendly staff, food was inexpensive as we had 2 meals for £9. They do slushy drinks so I had to try them. We stayed in the travelodge next door and there was free unlimited parking too.

Classic Hungry Horse. Food average at best, below average really. It is fairly cheap compared to other places so if you want a cheap bite I suppose it's ok but very low standard food. I had mixed grill with scampi added and it was less than twenty quid so I suppose I shouldn't moan too much but meat quality was very poor, scampi was classic supermarket processed fare and it came out pretty cold. Service was good and staff were pleasant but food quality is below average at best!
