got home to find old bloke behind bar had charged me £15.30 for a pint of moretti paid by card so didn't realise while later ask to see what they're charging you don't make my mistake !

The girl behind the bar hadn’t got a clue. “What’s a slimline tonic” Don’t think she knew how to smile. Was very rude

Our local bike night is held at the crown ,the staff are lovely the landlord is a top bloke ,some good people gather here at the weekends the atmosphere is great 👍 👌 the crown Penistone Road Hillsborough sheffield.

I've stopped here after coming back from Tramlines Festival on Sunday, there was a party going on at the back of the pub mostly by the festival goers. The atmosphere was amazing everyone was in such a hype after the festival and filled the place to the brim, DjVans was on the decks playing a great variety of tunes to please the crowd. Drinks were extremely affordable and the bar staff was very attentive. Was such a nice way to end the day for one last dance. Well done to all The Old Crown team. 👏👏👏👌👌

Recently went here for my Dad's wake, and everything was perfect up until someone random person, who looked an absolute state, walked up and tried hitting on my mum (whose partner the wake was for) and signing the memory book, despite not knowing any of us. He was fended off, but when escalated to the landlord, he was very apathetic to us, caught in several lies, later even shifting the blame on us, accusing us of moving wake signs (which apparently hasn't been moved by anyone for 6 years, which is a ridiculous claim) and "inviting" others to play darts, which doesn't make any sense. Why invite randos to our private area? He even stepped really close to me during an argument as if to intimidate, which is absolutely baffling. I understand that he couldn't stop everyone from coming up to us as hes very busy, which is fair on him, but the way I was treated, despite trying to be as fair as possible, is absolutely inexcusable. To have the blame shifted on us when we were in a time of mourning is ridiculous. It was supposed to be a good night out but turned to an absolute nightmare. All the other staff and bar members were spot on, but the landlord really is something else.

First independent bikers meet tonight and a good turnout. Landlord great and bar staff. Pie and pea's on menu. Music on. Coffee and tea available for those that don't drink and drive 😀. Will try and get down again soon. Every Wednesday night.

Best pub on Earth. Proud to have it in Sheffield. Home to the Owls supporters a.k.a Fledglings, of which I’m honoured to be one. Landlord is a legend of Sheffield, he used to be a union leader from the mining days and the Mayor gifted him this pub for his work.

Not bad for a stop off drink before the dogs. Pool table available. Staff welcoming. Didn't stay long enough to get a good sense but could use a little updating. Easier said than done though with current climate - energy bills etc. Would go again though.

Absolutely brilliant place great atmosphere great staff been to the Old Crown many Saturdays for karaoke run by Gary who does a fantastic job both karaoke and disco.....but a few week back we had my partners sons wake there and once again Gary and staff pulled out all the strings and gave her lad a brilliant send off 5stars from me

Pre Wednesday match day pub but also very friendly to all visitors any day if the week. Family run. Clarice was so helpful and friendly. Great place to drink, there was 3 different types of entertainment there on a Saturday evening

Called in here with work mates whilst waiting for dog track to open. The Sheffield Wednesday match had just finished but there was more than enough staff on. Prices were good too

First time at The Old Crown for an afternoon of local bands headlined by Jack Sabbath. First impressions not amazing, but the staff were all really friendly & prices were pretty competitive too. The stage was in the car park at the back of the pub & the bands were all fab. Will definitely be back when there's some more music on.

The pub has been done up since the last time I went in and it looks amazing. Came to watch the euros which they had on on the tv and the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and the cocktails were great. Would definitely come again!

Llamé para reservar una mesa el domingo festivo y me dijeron que había una banda en frente a las 2 pm. Reservé la mesa para las 3 pm. No apareció ninguna banda. Tomamos una bebida y fuimos al estacionamiento onky para que nos dijeran que eran las 2. 50 cada uno, ya que era un evento que nos negamos a pagar, ya que no se lo dijeron cuando sonó. Más tarde esa noche a las 9 pm, mis amigos llamaron para decir que estaban en la banda viendo la corona, pero que no pagarían. Por lo tanto, su banda no era solo un dj. Perdimos nuestro día ya que estábamos en leyendas en Hillsborough y realmente lo disfrutamos. No le gusta que le mientan, nunca volvería a visitarlos, ¡están estafando a ciertas personas si su cara no queda repugnante! !

Friend and I went in for food on a Saturday aftermoon. (They do not normally do food sat), with my dog. We were starving and needed to eat so they ofdered to make us fish, potatoe and veg. Ben (chef )who cooked it made a very tasty fish. Very friendly, accomodating owner and staff. Spent a love couple of hours there. Def go again. Also loved their dog Tilly. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We've been here a few times for our works Christmas party. They do offer to put food on which we've had previously. Amazing prices for Sheffield it's so cheap. Karaoke on Saturday nights. Was a busy little pub. Lovely bar staff.

Fuimos a ver una banda durante Tramlines. El pub parecía haber visto días mejores. Estaba un poco cansado pero el personal era muy amable y nos lo pasamos muy bien. No había cerveza de verdad que siempre me pareció decepcionante y el rango de comida era muy limitado, butties de patatas y cosas por el estilo. Estuvo bien, no me apuraría, pero si estás buscando algo bastante básico, está bien.
